I know you all were concerned about me. I was just PMSing, and was being a b****! lol. I haven't been posting, because I started my summer class, and this week has just been hectic!

I went and saw an amazing concert tonight...Godsmack. And get this. We met the band!!!!!!!! WahOOOOOO!!!! Seriously, one of the BEST nights of my life, so far!!! I have another concert to look forward to in August, if all goes well. Hopefully going to see Hinder, Papa Roach, and Buckcherry. And we MIGHT be going to see George Carlin (Andrew LOVES him.)

Anyways, I'll try and keep up this week!!!! But I'm off to bed! I was rocking for like...4 hours straight, so I'm sure I burned some CALORIES!

Thanks everyone! Normally I wouldn’t think I could afford a place like this, but as I said, the landlord sets the rent a bit lower than market because he wants to find tenants that stay and take care of the place. I will feel even better on Monday when I get the call that my credit has been checked and all is set. There is still a part of me that is worried that it is all too good to be true.

The one thing that this experience reinforces for me is that even when things are tough and it seems like they won’t work, you just have to keep on going. I spent over 3 months looking at so many places, lost a couple I thought were perfect, and now found something even better. I was doggedly persistent at following up every single ad that came either in craigslist, the newspaper or the pennysaver. That kind of willful determination to just keep on trying when things don’t seem like they are working is exactly what I need to keep going with this weight loss journey. The problem with losing weight as opposed to apartment hunting is that there is no definitive ending like landing an apartment and then it is over.

Catherine – Passing up Chinese when you are hungry and tired - wow, I don’t know if I could do that. Chinese is one of those cuisines that I try and convince myself is healthy when I know everything is cooked in a lot of oil.

Cris – Congratulations to your daughter on winning the science prize! Also, congratulations to you on someone noticing your weight loss. Better get used to it!

Misti – It sounds like you had a really productive day. It was too bad you had to pay for the repair, but at least it wasn’t too expensive.

Kayley – Glad to hear you are feeling better and that you had such a great time at the concert.

Anyway, back to packing for me. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Good morning, everyone. Just a quick post this morning.

Nancy I am so happy for you about the apartment. Way to go!!!!

As for the bike tire repair... well I did take it back to REI and they are very reliable, which is why I bought there. Had the fault been with a bad tire I am sure they would have taken care of it. But it obviously had a big slash in it. Also they did not charge me for the work of replacing it; just the tire and tube. So I was very happy with that. And I am back on the road, yes I am. Unfortunately after all that exercise yesterday I GAINED three pounds!! Oh well...

Morning all!

Sue -- I hope you really enjoy the bike -- sounds like you need to make it a regular thing so you remember things like your helmet!

Kayley -- Glad you're doing well and having fun!

Soulbliss-for $1500 you’d be lucky to get a windowless one bedroom basement apartment here. We drove past a homeless shelter last night, and the parking lot was full of tents. Pretty nice ones, some of them. When homeless go from being old winos to young families that have jobs but still can’t afford an apartment, I just realize how lucky we are. I love your new avatar. Is that you, or did you do that work?

33tekfan-congratulations to your daughter. I once though about being a vet, but I’m so soft hearted when it comes to animals, that I know I’d have trouble putting one down. That would have made it hard to have a practice. I guess I could have advertised as only dealing with young healthy animals, kind of like a sports doctor, but that wouldn’t have been realistic. It is nice when someone finally notices a weight loss. I always wanted people to notice, but am so uncomfortable when they do at the same time.

Misti-Thanks, I am really starting to feel better. I know part of it was because this is the time of year I start to have trouble getting enough sleep. It is still sunny a midnight and dawn comes around 3-4 am, so my body wants to wake up with the sun. I think we get 16 actual hours of sun, and another 4 of kind of bright twilight. During the winter we get at least 8-10 hours of sun, so it doesn’t make sense to me. You’d think it would be equal, but I guess the twilight hours always getting counted in the sunshine, winter and summer. My boys used to blow tires routinely, so I finally had to learn to change the tires myself. I just bought a used bike repair book for a couple of dollars, and the little wedge tools, and trial and errored it until I figured it out. Much cheaper.

Kayley-I’m glad you’re feeling better. I think you and I were PMSing at the same time. I swear sometimes I just want to go down to the corner and get into a bar fight. That might make it go away like pon farr on Star Trek.

Nancy-I understand that feeling of waiting to see if your credit is as clear as you think it is. I have had two identity theft things, but that was only financial. My real fear has always been if someone used my name when they committed a crime. There was a guy in Florida that had his taken by his brother, and every time he got pulled over for even a broken tail light, he’d get hauled to jail. He even carried with him a letter from the police chief and a judge, but they’d still take him in just to check. He can never take a plane anywhere. I’m sure your check will be fine, but I understand that big inhale while waiting.

I am off to do some ironing, like a proper Southern woman. Then I’m going to sew a dog hat for a friend. She’s a big Edmonton Eskimo’s fan, and the season opener is this week. The play football in summer here, can’t imagine why. She’s blind, so obviously gets to take her dog to games. I know she won’t be able to see the hat, but Max will. We were at her office Friday, and I was in the waiting room. She was walking from one side to the other, and Max made a detour into the waiting room to see me, and almost ran her into a planter. Of course since she couldn’t see me, she didn’t understand why Max was dragging her over there. He’s not supposed to do stuff like that when he’s working, but he has a soft spot for me I guess.

Hi Everyone!

Just popping in to say "hi". All is well here. I had my weigh in last Thursday and lost another 3.1 pounds bringing me to a total loss of 34.1 pounds. I'm still having a problem sticking to the liquids 100%, but I'm staying on them about 90% of the time, so I guess that's better than nothing. I found out that the center had some special recipes that you can use your liquids for. They largely consist of addition of certain spices and stuff (no extra calories or carbs). I tried two of them today and they are great! (chicken stuffing and tomato chips) This is going to make sticking to the diet a whole lost easier.

I'm taking my Dad out for dinner tonight for Father's Day. I'm gonna eat lettuce and grilled chicken which is legal once a week. However, I am doing it more than once a week, but will try to be better about that.

I hope everyone is doing well. Take care!

Lisa

Hi All
Sue, you totally wear me out just reading your post...lol! I've been wanting to get a bike myself, but haven't yet. You seem like you really enjoy it. Maybe once I get mine, we could meet somewhere and go bike riding together.

As for me, my WI is tomorrow. I think I probably will stay the same, at least I'm hoping to. I went off OP today. The kids decided to cook a big 'ol breakfast and although I didn't eat alot of stuff, it was things that I shouldn't of had at all. I had 1 scrambled egg, 1/2 cup hash browns, 1 sausage, 1 bacon, and the killer was the cinnamon roll. I tried to resist but I couldn't. On a good note, I'm feeling much better so I should be able to get my butt back on the treadmill.

Hope everyone is having a great day!!
Don't forget, slow but steady is the best way to go!!

Debbie

Hi everyone, I had a bad week-end, starting with the house being hit with lightening around 5pm!!!!! I was terrified!! I was setting up the boys' Playstation at the time & everything went white then black, including the tv. It knocked off some of the power & fried the pc modem & something else in the pc (don't ask me what coz I have NO IDEA about pc stuff, lol). Steve spent most of Saturday sorting it out. I had a few brandies Friday night as I was so shaken ( I actually had a 'toilet accident' which was WAY embarassing!) but the booze also led to eating bad stuff.
Luckily everything else seems ok, there was no other damage we could see, though next door had the power out & tv broken/damaged. Anyway...
Nancy, I hope everything else goes smoothly with your new apartment, it is a shame being patient doesn't have the same good results in life like you said. Looking on the positive side, a new start, you get to choose what stuff you put into your new home, no guy to cater to, just what YOU WANT & LIKE, I'm a bit jealous!!! I'm so pleased for you too, of course!xxxxxxx
Misti, glad you got your bike sorted out.xxxx(How's the pastor's daughter doing?)
Catherine, ooh yes that PMS monster. That is so sad about homelessness, I (stupidly) thought in a country as huge as Canada that there would be enough houses/land to build for everyone to have a home. I'm glad you're feeling better.xxxxxx
Kayley, glad it wasn't anything serious. WTG on seeing all these bands, there's nothing like it, just soaking in the atmosphere, let alone the music, lol, used to have me allhyped up.xxxxxx
Lisa, thanks for the info, there are Marriot hotels near us 'Breadsall Priory' is about 10 miles away, we looked at it for our wedding reception but it was too far away for our horse-drawn carriage to get there. (As well as being VERY expensive!!lol) Are there any support forums for your liquid diet? I make muffins, chocolate truffles & popadoms with my soup/shake packs, which I got from the forum for The Cambridge Diet. You could experiment with it, I mix up 2tablespoons of BOILING water in a big mug, add a chocolate shake, stir well (a stiff cake-mixture texture) & microwave for 1 minute 40 seconds, that makes a 'muffin'. Though I'm only allowed one each day as it destroys the nutrients in it. Also mixing up chocolate shakes with cold water to a stiff paste, puting small ( 1teaspoon sized) blobs onto tinfoil or plastic sandwich box lids & freezing for 1-2 hours makes 'truffles'. You could ask & see if you can do this, ok they aren't as nice as the 'real thing' but you can CHEW them!!lolxxxxxx
Ammi, hope you are ok, not seen you around on Sunday on MSN.xxxxxxx
Emilymay, did I forget to congratulate you? If so I apologise, WTG !!!!!I hope your family made a big fuss of you getting the job & that you are now, or almost a 'REAL' nurse!xxxxxx
Valerie, how are you? Hope work is good & you're getting lots of riding in.xxxxx
xxxxsharon
