Sharon -- WTG on the loss!!!!

Daise -- Welcome and congrats on your marriage! You are right, YOU need to be on the list somewhere. I have learned that. I have a husband who loved me at any weight, too, but it became more about my health. I was 39, but felt at least 50. I was already seeing how there were so many things I couldn't do! And what would happen as I aged??? I'm not technically at a healthy weight now, but I am able to do so much more these days it's just amazing.

As for how to start... it can be overwhelming. I suggest you pick one thing to change and do that to start. I started by taking my lunches and snacks to work and watching portions otherwise. After a while I started calorie counting. Then I added in exercise... etc.

Good morning everyone!

Here we go into Thursday. Everybody stay OP today!

Lex, Welcome! Glad you decided to join us!!!!!

Xena, glad you had a good trip, and glad you are back with us!

LitChick, congratulations on the 50 pounds! That is super!!!!

Catlover, don't give up! We all have discouraging times and this is not an easy journey. But you are making great progress; keep it up. You don't want us having to use that :buttkick: icon now, do you?

Daise, welcome to the forum! I look forward to getting to know you.

Oops would love to do more personals but work beckons.

Yesterday was good but frustrating. Took the bike out and got four miles from home and blew a tire. Brand new bike! Put it on the bus to come home and got on the wrong bus which only went halfway. I thought fine, I will walk the two miles pushing it and get in more exercise. Good news I really racked up my exercise points. Bad news is now I have to get the tire fixed before I can ride again. Since it is new I think I will take it back to the place I bought it and see if I ran over glass or something or it was just a bad tire. Oh well... I did try the bike trail and although the website clearly says it is a bike trail it was just a walking path and said walk your bikes... sheesh. Good news I rode down a huge hill and didn't think for a minute I'd make it back up but I DID! Yay!

Going over to post all my exercise LOL.

Well ladies...there are so many new people now! I have a big story to tell. For starters I have not been on this site since January. Many of you may not remember me. I have been VERY BAD these past few months. I had lost 60 pounds when I started this long and tedious process. Now I have gained so much of it back it is pathetic. I feel like all the hard work I do do was for nothing. Now I am not quite back to where I was but I am close. 20 more pounds and I will be back to my highest weight ever. I need some serious help!! I dont even know where to start again. In the past I have done the Atkins diet and every time I do that it works. The problem is staying on it. I am so picky in my food chioces atkins does not give me enough things to choose from. I feel like all I am eating is meat and cheese with an occasional veggie. I start to feel deprived and therefore fall off the wagon. Please help me ladies! I am starting to not feel good again. I was so happy because my legs were starting to actually look good. Now they look horrible again. I hate this dieting thing!!! Does anyone have any advise?!?!?!?!

I'm a *tad* behind in the personals, so I'm bringing myself up to date.

Peggy, you've obviously been working very hard at losing weight because it has really paid off. You've lost a lot of inches and weight. You're also stronger too, since you have more stamina to walk more than you used to. for everything you've achieved. Belated Happy Birthday to you!!! I'm glad you enjoyed your day and stayed OP, except for your small piece of cake and spoonful of ice cream. WTG! on getting an IPOD Nano from DH. That will sure make your walks more pleasurable. I wish I had one.

Brenda, I'm glad the wedding shoot went well for you. The pictures are beautiful. You're very talented. on joining a gym. You seem to be really enjoying it, which is good. How often are you planning on going? for your WI. I hope you are under 300 lbs this time. You WILL be under 300 lbs.

Catherine, I'm sorry that you're feeling so depressed right now. Have you suffered from depression before. I know it's not fun by any means. I hope your family physician will prescribe an anti-depressant for you, but give it time to work. It can take several weeks to feel any benefit sometimes. I do hope you're feeling better soon. I miss reading your posts.

debbie on losing 5 lbs and getting into your 28 size pants. Sounds like you've really got a full house there. It must be kinda hectic. God bless you.

Lesley, on losing 4.2 lbs, making that a total of 50 lbs. That's a milestone. also for your lower glucose level. You must be very happy about that. Just another great benefit of losing weight.

Soulbliss, for saying I'm one of your favourite cheerleaders. That was very kind for you to say. My doctor prescribes the diuretic. I've been taking it for years. I suspect my need for it will decrease when/if I can get all this excess weight off.

Nancy, I hope this is *the* place for you. I look forward to your postings about looking for an apartment, but hope you find the right place soon, especially since time seems to be of the essence. in your search.

Donna, what a nice change of pace, now that you'll be home for the summer. I hope you find out soon what's wrong with your foot. I know how you feel about going to the dentist, I have a phobia of dentists.

Story, I'm sorry that you're having to change your thyroid meds yet again. It must be very frustrating. Sorry you had an ice cream binge. I guess with all this hot weather, it's so tempting.

Lex, to 3FC. I hope you enjoy it here. I'm new too, just a couple of weeks in. on losing 1 lb. Your mother sounds much like my mom.

Heather, for the rules. I knew you made them up. I guess I was expecting more of a sprint, as you say.

Jenjifer, in staying one step ahead of your mom. I hope you enjoy your new WW recipe you found. You'll have to let us know how it goes. If you really like it, maybe you could post the recipe for us.

Daise, to 3FC. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. on getting married 5 months ago.

Sharon, on losing 13 lbs. I know you're right, there really is no alternative, I'll have to be more patient. I'm not very good at that when it comes to dieting.

Misti, Oh no, not the I'm feeling better today. Sorry to hear about blowing your new bike tire so soon. I hope you get it fixed soon. At least taking the wrong bus enabled you to rack up some exercise points. That's too bad about it not being a bike trail. for biking all the way up the huge hill. WTG!!!

kayley, where are you? I'm assuming you must be ok since you went home, but now I'm wondering since you haven't posted at all.

Chiema, first off back. I'm one of the new people, only here 2 weeks. I'm sorry that you fell off track and gained back most of the weight you lost. I think you just have to forget about that, don't beat yourself up about it and start fresh from here. I understand your frustration on not knowing where to start. There are so many *diets*. I went through the same thing. I decided to just watch my portions and eat foods that I knew were are good for me and try to stay away from the *bad* foods. So far, I'm not counting calories, carbs or anything else. It took me awhile to figure out what I was gonna do. I may choose to count calories/carbs down the road but for now that seems too rigid for me. I thought you were allowed all the vegees you wanted on Atkins? I personally couldn't go without any carbs since I'm a carb addict. I hope you find something soon that works for you. You CAN do this!!!

As for me, I'm feeling a bit better today. Out of curiousity, I weighed myself today and I'm down another 1.5 lbs. so I'm very happy about that. I just wish it was faster. I just thought that since I weigh so much, that I lose more than this in the very beginning. Oh well, it's not a gain, and I haven't stayed the same, so I'll take it. I'll try to be more patient. No promises. Oh, and I didn't go out and buy the chips and Pepsi. I knew I'd be really mad at myself afterwards, so for me. for the encouragement you've given me.

Patti: Hi girl

Ammi: have fun with all that sunshine and outside work!

Donna: I hope you truly enjoy your time off and that money isn't too tight and you have a much easier time staying op

Peggy:Wow girl. You are really walking and walking. I am so proud of you for only having a sliver of cake and ice cream for your birthday!

Storey: I just wanted to aknowledge you and say excellent job being accountable. When we tell icky eating secrets then they don't have control over us. Just my opinion. I hope your thyroid gets all regulated asap. Hugs.

Lex Welcome. I am looking forward to this journey with you.

Cris: Funny how eating more can make us loose more. lol. Good job.

Catlover: I wish I could give you a hug. I think that your body is just going through a stall. I know that I had a huge stall from November last year to March of this year I exercised 60 + minutes every single day and never cheated once on my diet and I even made it through Christmas and New Years without "snacking" I only lost 19 pounds during that entire time. That is only 3.8 pounds per month. So, just hang in there and teach your body you are going to do something different now. Maybe you can eat a bit more to shake it up. NOT JUNK though! Hugs to you and I really hope you don't leave and go back to the way you say you were before. You can do this. Be strong and hang on!

Daise: Welcome. You will love it here. Everyone is wonderful.

Sharon: Yipee to you doll. I am so glad for you making that scale go down!

Wylenn: I love your rules!

Sue: Your bike day sounds..... well, frustrating to say the least. I'm proud of you for getting back up the hill!

Chieme: The only advice I have is the same I gave to Catlover. Just hang in there and Journal, make some low fat/low cal. soup to eat when you are hungry. Just don't give up.

Well, DH and I are heading out to the Boise area, we are driving! We have a long trip so we better move it. I will be back in time for my meeting on Monday with the Dr. Happy Father's Day to all the Hubbies and Dads you know.

Blessings all,
Annie

Chiema -- Welcome back! I don't know that I have advice, but you say when you do Atkins, it works, but you can't stay on it. Maybe it's time to try a plan you CAN stay on?? In my mind, it's not just LOSING weight we have to worry about, but keeping it off, and maybe Atkins isn't the plan for you, long term? Just a thought.

catlover -- yay on another 1.5 pounds! See -- patience! I'm glad you didn't buy the chips and pepsi. the sodium from the chips alone would have kept the weight up!

If you aren't satisfied with your progress in the next few weeks, maybe it would be time to evaluate, but you've lost 4.5 pounds in 2+ weeks and that's terrific!

Brenda -- YAY!! You are doing great!! That's awesome!!!!

I'm glad people liked my "rules"!

Morning all~

Welcome to all the new folks.

dogpal & cdncatlover ~ The thyroid thing has been an issue in my weight loss for a few years now. I have been on meds since I was 20 for it, and from that time up until May of last year, I would have to have my meds changed maybe every two to three years or so, but for some reason or another this last year has been ****. I have been on dosages ranging from 25mcg all the way up to 150mcg. I was taking 112mcg when I went in for my surgery last month and now I am being put on 125mcg. Gah!! When will this end??!?!?

cdncatlover ~ I am in the same boat with having given up the junk foods and such and I still am floating in the 370s, even with having had WLS and exercising. Don't give up...*sends good vibes your way*. Just remember why you decided to make this change in your life.

Ladies, I just have a moment to pop in. This week is 'Horse Camp' and I'm spending every spare minute up at the fair grounds hanging with horsey friends, new and old. In addition, last night the horse I have up there had a bit of colic (which is very treatable, but can also be fatal) so I was up with him until after 3 a.m. He's fine now; just needs to take it easy. Anyway, I'll be catching up here on Sunday when camp is all over.

Hugs & cheers to ya, girlfriends!

Nothing earth shattering this week, but I still continue to shrink...LOL. I dropped only a pound (hey, better than nothing), but I did take inches off my chest, waist and hips, so it is all good!

Annie, I am losing weight, just not as fast as I thought I would. I've only just begun my weight loss journey. Usually you lose faster in the beginning. I thought I'd lose at least 7 lbs in the first 2 weeks, instead I had lost 3. I don't want to increase my eating at this point, although I do understand the reasoning behind that strategy. I'll save that maybe when I go through a long stall like you did. I'm glad you're finally out of your stall. Cyber are always good too. to you!!! BTW, I won't be giving up any time soon.

Brenda, on losing 5 lbs. You're way under the 300 mark. Now you're in the 2's!!! WTG!!!

story, I'm sorry you're going through such a rough time with your thyroid meds in the last year. My sister's been going through the same thing. for all the encouragement for me to continue on my WLJ. Oh, and this is for your thyroid to get in gear. Maybe we should also throw in a little bootcamp scare for your thyroid.

Valerie, I'm glad you're enjoying your "Horse Camp". I'm sorry to hear your horse was colicy but I'm glad he's feeling better now.

LAnne, for losing 1 lb and inches off your chest, waist and hips. YGG!!!

toofatforu, for having some pretty good days with staying OP. Keep up the fight, , don't give up!!!

kayley, where are you? I'm beginning to think that maybe you had to go back to the hospital since you haven't posted. Please check in with us if you can.

Wishing everyone to stay OP and sending each of you some

Default Hello Again,

I've been AWOL since about February, and it's definitely time to get my backside in gear.

I am hoping someone is online right now. I need some help (willpower) ie: a friend to help me through a rough patch.
