Greeting my ladies . I'm behind on reading all the post for this week. My puter took a dive so I was disconnected from my chicks . I will work on catching up.

I have a few NSV's I wanted to share with you guys. First of all my son who is a man of few words called me skinny the other day when I was getting in the car. Made me laugh. I am so far from skinny but it meant he could really notice and he wanted me to know he did. Then one day I noticed that the tattoo I have on the front of my left shoulder looked to be moving down on my chest. I asked my 16 yr old son if my chest was starting to shag a lot. He says "WHY?" I told him I was able to see more of it when I look down than I ever have. He tells me, "Mom, you can see it better because you have lost your 3rd chin and your neck bends down more!" I thought I was going to die laughing so hard. He is right. that is what has changed. I would never have thought of little things like that happening with my weight loss, but it is soooo cool!. Then, last week I made the move back to the pool. I put on my swim suit and it was all baggy and hanging weird. I thought it was just shot from the clorine and then just laying around for almost a year. So I go to buy a new one. Well, suprise for me! It was just too big. My new ones were 2 and 3 sizes smaller. Last years was a 36 = 6x. My new ones are 32=4x and 30= 3/4x. you have to know me, I refuse to wear anything clingy or snug at all. I always go with bigger for more room. This was such a super reinforcer for me. Ok, one more then I will shut up. In January I bought new bras undies and shirts and capris. This last week end I was wearing one of those bras and driving around with my hubby. I kept having him reach under my shirt to pull my bra down. It kept crawling up my back. YEAHH! it is too big around. He told me to just take it off if it was bugging me so much. HA, we had a good laugh at that. I never go out of the house with out. It is such nice weather I put on my capris and they look like just short pants. Waiting for a flood look. and they come up to3 inches above my waist. This is getting a bit fun

Good luck to all of you sweet chickies. Congrats to all for continuing to hang in there.

Shadie – What an awesome bunch of NSV’s!!! That is totally inspiring!

Sandy – I’m sorry to hear you are still in pain from your surgery. I hope you took care of yourself today.

Brenda – Sorry your TOM ruined your weigh-in. Just think – next week will be even that much better! You will definitely be out of the 300’s really soon!

Cris – Congratulations on being under 300!!! You must be ecstatic!!!

Lilion – I am really starting to think that the 3500 calories doesn’t apply on the way up. Maybe that is how much it takes to go down, but I swear it only takes me like 1500-2000 to go up one. Either way, sorry to hear about the rough time you have been having. I hope you enjoy your camping trip.

Kayley – That is so lucky that you live in a good neighborhood and and/or nobody noticed Andrew’s keys! That must have been quite a shock finding them there. Congratulations on your new car. It looks really nice – you totally deserve to have a care you love!

Scarlett – Congratulations on being down 4.5 pounds. Also, happy anniversary!

Donna– Sounds like yesterday was one of those days that you should have just stayed in bed. I hope you are having a better day today and I think you might just need to show the scale the tires – just so it understands the stakes.

Erika – Are you getting a break from school soon or are you going through the summer. Sorry to hear things are still stressful.

Shannie – you seem to be doing just fine with the “personal stuff”, but don’t feel like you have to.

Catherine – You are so right that pushing yourself and getting hurt will only make things worse in the long run. I hope the inflammation has gone down some and that you are feeling better today.

Soulbliss – Pictures can be really hard. It sounds like you have a good attitude though. Before pictures are very important to remind us how far we have come.

LAnne – That is fantastic how many inches you have lost. I have heard they come off everyone differently.

Meta – Happy birthday and congratulations on moving down to the morbid obese category. You really gave me a chuckle with that because it reminds me why I love this place so much. How many people could understand the joy that could come from something like that then others who have also been in the same boat.

Sharon – 2 pounds down in great! You have been doing so well.

Valerie – I will be thinking of you this weekend. I know you will make it through the wedding. I just hope it isn’t too painful.

As for me, I am determined to get myself back on track! I am not sure what it will take, but I am starting with trying to journal about the previous day and see how I can make better choices. It is already helping, because I feel like it helped uncover why I have trouble with 100-calorie packs (I got those new Hostess ones last night and ended up eating 3 of them). When I first started my journey I did a lot of work with Intuitive Eating and one thing that taught me is that I need to trust myself with food. When I stop trusting myself, I start acting out with food. So, I discovered that for me 100-calorie packs are basically a message to myself that I don’t trust myself. I am much better off to go out and get myself one piece of really good cake if I absolutely need cake then to eat six 100-calorie packs that don’t end up really satisfying me.

Still no luck on the apartment. I keep looking, but nothing. Oh well. I am starting to pack up anyway. I am hoping it will send a signal to the universe that I am really ready.

Donna: Sorry that you had such a bad day. Hugs.

Val: Hope that Bill is able to find another trucking company very quickly. You will be upstaging that bride with your inner beauty alone, let alone your outer beauty. Hugs and try to have fun.

Shannie: Wahhooooo! Congrats on -5 pounds.

Sharon: You slim and sexy gal you. Congrats on -2 You are doing soooo well.

Brenda: Sorry your WI was up. Next week you will get rid of that pound and a few more I bet.

Meta: Happy birthday late. So sorry. I haven't loged on it a couple of days. What a great gift to give yourslef a new BMI number and catagory! Hugs.

Sandy: How are you feeling since your surgery? I hope you are healling well.

LeaAnne: Congrats on another -4. You are really doing so well and I can't wait until I get my lap band!

Catherine: Glad you are feeling a bit better today. Hugs.

Cris: I cracked up when you said your hubby didn't get the "dishes" thing. My hubby didn't get it last night when I went to the pool and said I need to vacuum when I get home, he didn't hear me. He watched basketball. lol. Huge congrats at getting under that 300 pound mark. You must feel like your on !

Scarlett: Congrats on another -4.5 Excellent job.

Lilion: Try to relax and have some fun camping! Hugs to you about your friend's daughter.

Shadie: Wooohoo on a moving tatooo! I was laughing so hard at what your son said. Yippee on all the clothes fitting you so loosely. A few of mine are like that now too. I have been telling myself that they are just getting worn out but I really think they are getting too big. I'm so proud of you for going back to the and in a smaller size no less! Way to go.

Nancy: Glad you are back on Track now. Good luck in the apartment search.

Ammi: Happy, Happy birthday to Beth!

I went last night for the first time to their Thursday night swim. It was so nice. I did 1/2 hour of swimming in place hard and then the other 1/2 hour of water aerobics, water walking and situps etc. It felt great. I am still staying on my program like good girl not messing up or eating too little of the product. I have been riding my daily pretty much too. I hope everyone in America has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

Blessings to you all,
Annike

Hiya ladies. Congrats on all the losses and NSVs! Welcome to the new chickies. We love having you here!

I'm going to attempt to do personals on Sunday, because today and tomorrow will be nuts. But for now, an update on moi: I am still sick. I need to go in and try some antibiotics I think. Neon green mucus and coughing fits that last for an hour at a time are *not* normal. The good news is I feel 100% better than what I felt like even a week ago - let alone when this crud took hold.

Good news - my parents finally quit smoking. The bad news is that they quit because my dad's doctor sat us all down and told us that as it is, he probably only has a year to two years at most left with us, and with him still smoking, it's probably more like a few months. Your prayers for both my dad and my mom would be greatly appreciated, because they've been smokers for 53 years and 30 years respectively.

The other good news.. get ready for it.. here we go.. I LOST 2lbs! This is the first "substantial" loss I've had in months, aside from a very small loss that wasn't even a pound before. This isn't the first time without a gain, but it's darn close to it. WOOHOO! Perhaps my scale was frightened by the thought of me drop kicking it down the stairs at work.. or perhaps my body finally decided it was done torturing me. Either way, I would have been happy with half a pound, or a pound.. but 2 sounds pretty great to me too.

Thank you everyone for your kindness and support. I've been here nearly two years now, and I don't think I've met anyone quite as caring and genuinely interested in how people are doing as you ladies in the 300+ group.

Hello Ladies~

Congrats to all yas that have had losses and NSV this week.

Alas, I have not faired as well as I thought I might. Finally made it to my mom's doctor's appointment with her today and found out that for the last two weeks, I have not budged one way or the other on the scales (though, I will gladly take not gaining as a +). Normally, I would be discouraged by that, however, I know that with my TOM, I had some water retention, so there was one cause. I am also thinking that I am not getting enough protein and water into my diet as of late and need to get them up to par. I will be working my buns off (I wish this literally ) the next few weeks before I have to see my WLS and if by then nothing is moving, well, then I will ask about what to do.

Take care all!!!

Hi, I'm still trying to get the hang of the site here. Sigh....
I have been seeing a dietian for about a year, and have lost some weight but I find it very difficult doing it all on my own. I can't afford anything like weight watchers, etc., since I'm on disability. I have been making slow changes, like cutting out pop, or french fries, and upping the fruits and veggies, switching from white bread and pasta to whole grain. I started tai chi a few weeks ago, and I absolutly love it. The only other exercize I do is walking. I have bad knees, so I can't do anything like biking or such. I get really frustrated seeing only 4-5 pounds drop each month. Anybody else feel this way? Btw, how on earth do you all manage to keep up with each other on this thread? I have been lurking for a few weeks before posting, and I can't figure out how you all know each others names and accomplishments. I despair ever managing it myself! LOL Enough for now.

Dogpal- Thank you for you comment! You keep up your good work too. I love swimming, water is the best. Sounds like you had a good time with it.

Just a question in general, but is anyone else's trackers not working...where everyone's trackers are, all I see is the annoying red ex...is it just my comp?

Shannie, when I went to put in my tracker, all I saw were red x's, and someone on the forums told me that it was because they are switching servers. I guess it will take a while for the servers to be totally up and running.

Hello Ladies!

My blah mood has pretty much lifted, and I'm trying to keep positive and look at what my options are and other steps I can take to finally get a job. It'll work out somehow. Plus it's the long weekend and that always helps a person's mood. I have to go to my nephew's high school graduation tomorrow, which means getting up too early for a Saturday and driving into downtown Atlanta. Should be fun - not!

Anyway, I just wanted to drop in and make a few shout-outs before I totally fall behind in what's going on with you all.

Nancy, oooh I miss New England seafood! We actually went to a seaside restaurant in Rockport a few years ago for a lobster dinner with friends, I think it was called the Lobster Pool. I wish I'd read Anita Diamant's 'The Last Days of Dogtown' before I was there so I could have explored that bit of Cape Ann's history. Speaking of which, have you been to the Paper House? I hope the rest of the move went well and you are not too sore after all of that.

Ammi, I love the new haircut! That's a great photo of you. I hope your daughter had a wonderful 16th birthday. I don't think purple hair is a big deal - if that's the worst you have to go through with a teenager, I think you're lucky. And congrats on the 2lbs gone! :hc: I hope the blood tests for you and Daren come back with good results.

Kayley, congrats on the new car! And a road trip to boot!

Cris, I can relate to the hard work of room remodeling - we moved into our house back in January and I have literally painted every single room since then, including the laundry! We've made some other minor changes but nothing like flooring. It my goal/dream to remodel the bathrooms and kitchen someday. I bet your new room is lovely! Oh, and a big for losing 5.2 lbs and making it to Two-Town!

Catherine, interesting about the chocolate cravings/magnesium deficiency correlation. I wonder if that relates somehow to women who crave chocolate when they're PMSing? I'm glad to hear you are going to try and relax and take it a bit easy. You're definitely right in that it will do you no good to over-exert your body.

Shannie, and congrats on losing 5lbs! Don't discount the 'water weight' - it's still 5lbs less that you're carrying around and 5lbs closer to goal!

Sharon, take any and all compliments! You definitely deserve them!

Metachick, a belated Happy Birthday!

Donna, you're not a Sagittarian, are you? Us Sags are known for our clumsiness.

Lilion, I'm sorry you're having such a difficult week, emotionally and stress-wise. I would imagine the 6lbs is water retention and will come off as quick as it came on.

Sandy, I wish we'd get some of your rain! We are already in drought conditions, not to mention the fires in Southern Georgia. The smoke has reached our area, it's so bad. I'm sorry you're feeling a bit sore - be sure to go easy on yourself and give your body plenty of recupe time. By the way, is it just my computer or are your posts lately repeating themselves three or four times within the same post?

Shandie, what a wonderful bunch of NSVs! It's even more gratifying when other people notice the differences, especially those who see us everyday.

Annie, I'm so glad you're enjoying the pool and getting in so much exercise - that's great and I'm sure your body is thanking you for it. Even gladder to hear that you are following plan this week!

brandnewme, I'm sorry you're still feeling sick and sorrier still to hear about your Dad. and I hope you're able to enjoy what time you do have with him, and hope that their quitting improves his chances at a longer life. Oh yes, and congratulations on losing 2lbs! Perhaps Catherine's scale has been talking to your scale, and warning it about the measures we'll take with uncooperative scales.

Story
, TOM can wreak havoc on what shows up on the scale, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Michelou, I started tai chi myself just recently and love it! I also only do walking as my regular exercise, but find it's enough for me for now. It sounds like you've made some great changes towards getting healthy. Try not to stress too much about the numbers. They're going down and you're feeling better, right? That's the main thing! What does your dietitian have to say?

OK, I'm off to bed. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Brandnewme: Hugs to you about your Dad sweetie. I will be praying for your family. Congrats on loosing 2 pounds. I hope that you feel better very, very soon. It sounds like you have an awful bug. Take care of yourself.

Patti: Hi girl. Long time no see.

Storey: I'm sorry but I forgot, what kind of WLS did you have? I'm thinking Lap Band but I can't recall. Hope your scale starts moving south soon.

michelou: Welcome to 3fc. WE are glad you are here. It sounds like you are on the right track with dieting and exercise. As for keeping up with everyone, please don't feel intimidated or like you have to do it too. Some of us have more time than others. Some of us have been on this board for a year or more and of coarse, when that happens we have gotten to know each other by name etc. We only get one new person or two at a time so it is easier for us to remember names where as the new ladies have soooooooo many to remember if they are trying to do that. Lots of us "cheat" too by taking notes when we read the board on things we want to comment on. So, no stress and again welcome.

Lesley: Please be careful when you are driving to your Nephew's graduation this weekend. It is such a busy time and there will be lots of traffic to deal with and some crazy drivers too.

Well, I'm heading off for bed now to do some home work for the WL Class so hope you are all well and happy.

Blessings,
Annie

hey everyone~

Well I missed a whole week of posts! I would love to reply to each of you but right now there is no way I could catch up. I have been so busy with planning for family to come up to visit. This past week I blew it a couple of days eating fast food. I am not really sure why I did that. That type of food always makes me feel so sick! You would think I would learn my lesson by now!! Anyways I am back to being OP so I feel better now. Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. And hopefully next week I will be able to post normally.

And look at all of the new people! I am so glad you all joined!

OK I better get moving. Take care and stay OP everyone!
