300+ And Ready To Try Again #1107

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME!!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.

We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time.

Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!

Good Morning Chickies!

Another busy week for me. I was away this weekend. Did eat out for one meal each day, but I think that all the running around I was doing helped balance things out. I feel *so* much better this AM after a solid 8 1/2 hours sleep. Guess I needed it! I am down 3 lbs this week! :carrot: :carrot:

I did my measurements for this month as well and I have lost 4.5 inches all over (I do Bust, waist, hips, left thigh, left knee, left calf). :carrot: :carrot:

I had a NSV this week as well. I was wearing a pair of size 26 Lee Rider jeans which were really baggy and my friend said "How the heck can we see what you look like? You look like you are wearing someone elses clothes!" :o That cracked me up. So I stopped at Walmart on Thursday and bought a pair of size 24 of the same brand as a "goal" pant. Well, THEY FIT!!!!!!!!! Not skin tight either! I did the happy dance in my bedroom!! I figured they would not even make it past my thighs!!

I will try to be less MIA this week.  to all of you who need one. Here is some :dust: to start your week out on the right foot. Hope you all have a great OP week!!

Good morning everyone!

It's been a couple of days since I posted - we've been really busy working on the bedroom but it's soooo close to finally being done! The floor went down this weekend (boy do my knees hurt!) and most of the furniture is moved back in. Now I just need to touch up the paint and decide where I want to put things back up on the walls. My eating was not great - we ordered out a lot so we didn't have to stop working to cook anything. I did not gain, but I did not lose anything either. Oh well...better than a gain!

Just a few personals this morning before I start my day:

Annie - Oh my gosh! What a terrific day you had. I would have loved being able to snuggle little wolf pups! Hopefully the scale is good to you for WI. Maybe the emotional eating you did won't make too much of an impact since you seem to have gotten right back on track!

Kayley - great job on the loss this week!

Lesley - eating out is my biggest problem as well. As long as I can prepare my own meals I can stay op no problem. It's going out or ordering in that causes me to go off track.

A big hello to everyone I missed, and wlecome to the new folks!

Have a great day!

Cris

Heather 05-21-2007 08:08 AM

Annie -- I LOVE your new avatar and before I read the story wondered who the cute pup was! I have a feeling you may go back to see more wolves again someday!! What a great day!

So, I had my weigh in this morning, and after a month of craziness, several weeks of not writing down all the food I ate, and eating more food than I should have I am up. 2 pounds.

I'll take it. It could have been so much worse. While I am in maintenance mode, I am motivated to get this weight off and back below 175, so I am going to do something about it.

Already this weekend I started writing down all my food and I ate well. Okay, a little too well -- meaning a little too much! But I feel back on track. I already have all my food planned for the day. GO ME! :)

Hi, I've read all the posts but no time to reply coz we're visiting my parents on Saturday for 8 days & I need to wash, iron, pack etc.
WELCOME to the new ladies, everyone here is so welcoming, warm & caring! Please don't be offended if you don't always get replies to your posts, it gets confusing who 'said' what!xxxxxx
Annie, I was wondering if it was a pup, kitten or something else in your avatar, wow!!!! ALMOST AS CUTE AS YOU!!!!xxxxxx Do they keep the wolves or are they freed, or keep some who are unfit to be freed? I love wolves, well most animals really, you are so lucky! I'm pleased you had such a good day after the MIL thing, about time you had good stuff going off! How's the Optifast going? At the moment I'm doing really well, except....yesterday (Sunday) I did roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes & roast organic carrotts for dinner & I slipped & had one of each. Though after all the gardening I think it will be ok, fingers crossed.xxxxxxxx
Sandy, xxxxhugsxxxxx hope you heal quickly & well, shame SD is being a pain. Have you thought of trying to ask for her help, like you would a friend? If she feels needed & you 'confide' in her you can't do...whatever..& ask her if she'd be an angel & do it for you, though no doubt you've tried everything already, lol. Just an idea, it works with my boys.xxxxxxxx
Ammi, looks like I'm 1 pound off dropping into the next stone!!!!YIPPEEE!!!! We're not having the dog, Philip brought her round she was cute but wet my kitchen floor in the excitement, scratched my arm, Aidens legs & was WAY TOO excitable!! Aiden cried & screamed, she thought he was playing & kept jumping up licking him, scratching him more. She wouldn't sit or stop jumping up, even though she has a lovely temprerment she's not really used to kids so Philip is keeping her. We will get a pet one day, though Gareth wants a Pug, we like Boxers, Staffies & Bull Mastiffs, Aiden likes cats...well there's time yet to decide on that, lol. Have you posted the pic of your NEW HAIRCUT yet???? Do IT!!!! Everyone will be amazed how gorgeous you look!xxxxx
Well gotta go, BUT Dolphingirl I forgot to reply to your post, pm me if you need a chat, that guy deserves no one, let alone someone as great as you!!!! Peel that 'doormat' label off your head (saorry but YOU DESERVE WAY BETTER THAN HIM!!xxxx)& enjoy life, you will be happier without him, honest!xxxxxxxxx

Good Morning Ladies!:coffee:

Whew, it has been a CRAZY:crazy: past few days in this house. My niece FINALLY had her baby! :bb: He wound up being 9lbs 9oz, so they had a c-section, which worked out great because her husband is in the Air Force and is doing his Tech Training in Texas, so because she was going in on Friday, he was able to fly back midnight Thursday. It all happened so quickly, we were so happy he was able to make it. It worked out really well because he was booked to come in for Memorial Day weekend...so he gets to come back again, which will be the last time until he finishes in July. So it's all good!!

But once again, I am reminded that I am now a Great-Aunt, with a 18 y/o who is graduating HS next month, and I can't believe I am old enough for all this!!!!

I have a few personals, but I am so behind, please forgive me if I have forgotten you!:sorry:
And to all you "newbies" :welcome3: I hope you find it as wonderful and helpful here as I do!!!;)

Kayley: I have a Dark Blue Kia Spectra and I LOVE IT!!! My 16 y/o 6'6" son can fit comfortably in the back and I zip around town with a tank of gas lasting almost 3 weeks!!!:bike:

Catherine: If I had a plateau that lasted 18 months, there is NO way I would still be on any program (and I am sure every piece of furniture in the house would be broken!!:lol3:) Now that TOM has finally come and gone, I am hoping to see some movement on Thursday's WI. (If not, I may have to use my van on the scale!:club: )

Annie: Oh my gosh...I thought you were holding a duck in your picture!
What a great way to spend the day!! And you are looking so good, your face is so happy in that picture!!

Sandy: I am glad the surgery went well! Sorry that you are in pain, but it will get better every day.

That's all I can do for now...time to get ready for work!
Have a Great OP Day!!:cheer2:

SoulBliss 05-21-2007 10:05 AM

Hello everyone!

I am taking an exam today that I have been stressing about, but I have NOT let it throw me into "snacking" mode!

I stayed home all afternoon and evening, relaxed (spent a LOT of time on here :o ) and steamed up some broccoli when I felt the urge to eat a filling meal.

I am doing better and am proud of myself.

I will start with a filling and healthy breakfast to get me through this 2 1/2 hour exam and will bring something with me that is healthy or visit the salad bar and make good choices. That is all I know for now!

I am enrolling in 2 workout classes that meet from June 11-July 5, they are intensives that last 2 hours each and I am looking forward to this as a real "jump start" towards my fitness! It's a yoga class followed by a weight training class, which seems to be a great combination, at least in my head so far...I will fill everyone in after I check it out!

Have a beautiful day, everyone!

kayleystar 05-21-2007 10:12 AM

Good morning, ladies. I have SO much stuff to do today, and this week, but I just wanted to pop in with some personals before I get showered and leave for a few hours. :)

Peggy - That's fantastic about the jeans!! Way to go on those inches lost, too!!!

Cris - A maintain is better than a gain! :D

Donna - Aww, congrats on the great-neice! :) That's really great that her husband was able to make it back for the birth.

Annie - Aww, that baby wolf is ADORABLE! Around here, it's illegal to have 'real' wolves as pets or anything like that...but my friend's neighbor has these hybrid wolves....they're part wolf (mostly wolf), and part regular dog. They kind of freak me out...heh. Once, it was night time, and I was leaving her house, and all of a sudden, they started howling....I RAN to my car! lol!! I'm glad you had a great day. :)

SoulBliss - Good luck on your exam today!

MetaChick 05-21-2007 10:46 AM

Torister, you're SO CLOSE to the 2's! Remember you were feeling 'stuck' just a few pounds ago? Can't wait to hear when you've reached the milestone sometime very, very soon.

Xena - I also missed commenting on your move into the 2's as well last week, but I was very happy for you. Congrats!!

I'm not so very far behind you both, but time (and sometimes the scale) seems to slow close to these major milestones.

Annie, I love your new avatar. Beautiful!

Have a great day everyone. It's a stat holiday here today so I think I'm going to try to tackle my yard. Sadly, there are few things I feel less competant at than yard tackling.

MetaChick 05-21-2007 10:58 AM

Oh, and

MY SENS ARE GOING TO THE STANLEY CUP FINAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL!!!

Wooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Forgive me. I'm a hockey monster.

sandybar 05-21-2007 11:28 AM

SoulBliss & Sally 44, :welcome3: I look forward to getting to know you. You'll love it here, everyone does! We're all in the same boat, ya know.

Annie, What a wonderful experience with the wolves. I'm so glad you had a wonderful day. I love taking Sunday drives, but we haven't had the time in forever.

Peggy, You're doing great, girl! I'm so impressed!!!

Sharon, I'll definitely try your approach again. It never hurts. Have a wonderful time at your mom's. I'll miss you.

Andy drove half way to Oklahoma City yesterday to pick up a puppy my daughter and her hubby were fostering. His name is Obe Won. You know, the guy from Star Wars. I don't expect I spelled it correctly. I forgot what it was like to have a baby in the house and a puppy is the same as a baby. Up every couple hours needing to potty and have some lovin'. He's quite adorable. He's part ****zu, Dauchaund, and chihuahua. My beagle, Tia, is insanely jealous and even afraid of him. It'll take a day or two, but I'm sure they'll be good friends.
Still progressing well here. This is only day 5 and it's making me crazy to stay home. There's so much I could do if I could only drive. Tomorrow is Andy's day off so maybe he'll drive me around. Til later my friends....check out my ticker!
I'll set a new goal tomorrow. :carrot::cp::cb::dancer::woohoo:

going to lose 200 05-21-2007 12:14 PM

hey Sandy
Congrats!!!

dogpal 05-21-2007 12:15 PM

 Good Morning everyone!

Peggy: :carrot: :cb: Congrats and a big wooohooo on loosing another 3 pounds, 4 and 1/2 inches and a size smaller! You are on a roll girl.

Cris: I hope your bedroom looks like a palace and is a wonderful retreat for you. ;)

Heather: Excellent job only gaining 2 pounds in such a busy month. I am so happy for you being back on track. :bravo:

Sharon: The wolves are born in captivity at a center that uses them for training purposes around the USA to show how special they are. I love all animals but, I don't believe that they should trust them as much as they do. At times one of the men said that they allow one of the big males to wonder around the store during the hours it is open. No matter what or how gentle they are they are still wild animals and shouldn't be put in a situation where a child or even an adult could irritate them. If they bit someone the authorities would probably cease it and put it down. I just love them but disagree with the way that they do some things there. Have a :beach: relaxing and op time at your Folks house.

Donna: :congrat: on the new baby.

Soulbliss: Have fun with all the :woops: classes you will be taking. Good luck on the exam today also.

Kayley: I have to admit when the wolves howl they do sound like a scary movie and it will send chills up your :yikes: arms even in daylight. lol Imagine hearing it when you are camping in a tent.lol. Yesterday a train went by and the big wolves started to howl. Kind of made me wish for the safety of a building or something. lol.

Meta: Have fun in the yard. I have some "yard" chores too but it has been raining daily ever since I put the chores on my to do list. lol.

Sandy: :dancer: :hat: :cp: :bravo:  :cloud9: :whoo: :broc:  :balloons: :woo: :cheer: :congrat: :cheer2:

On reaching your first Goal! Hope you are healing nicely!

Well, I didn't go to bed until after midnight and I was so tired this morning that I decided to go swim at 11 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. So, I am still in my pj's, doing some laundry and now gonna go and spend some time reading the Word of God and praying before I officially start my day. Hope you are all wonderful and having op days!

Blessings,
Annie
