300+ Awesome April Exercise Thread
Welcome! ...To the April exercise thread! We're trying to make exercise a habit, give ourselves some accountability, and get healthier in the process! In this thread, we're setting the number of MINUTES we want to exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Early in the month (or before it starts) set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. We're also tracking how many minutes we have exercised as a group! In 2006 we came close to 200,000 minutes. I'd love to see us surpass that goal this year. To start, please first post your goals and then add your minutes (for yourself and the group) and get some support and accountability! If you want to join us during the month -- GREAT! Just let us know how many minutes you want to exercise in what's left of the month! Finally, if you're new to this, pay attention to how to add your minutes to the group... people get confused if they can't easily see our new total. I recommend showing the previous total, then your minutes, then the new total (which should be the sum of the other 2 numbers). For example, if the group had done 500 minutes already and you did 30, here's what you would do: Group total ~ 500 + 30 = 530 minutes Let's continue to make 2007 great by more moving and shaking!! |
It will be a struggle for me to make my goal for March, but I will stick with 600 as my goal for April. I missed a week of exercise in the early part of the month due to some oral surgery I had....a gum graft. YOWCHIE!

I did so well with March that I'm scared to mess up April..... For April I am also adding CC and I think I will set my minutes for April to 350. |
I don't know that I will make my March goal, but I know I won't have as much time in April, so I'm setting a goal of 1200 minutes.

But I don't want to get in over my head the first time out, so I'll set my goal at 500 minutes. :ebike: |
I have been doing horrible with exercise. But I think I am ready to do this again. I am going to start low. My goal will be 480 minutes.

Still going for 700. I've been very active this month, just not necessarily with the gym. I spent a week at Disney World for spring break, where I didn't do any "exercise", but after walking around literally all day, I wouldn't have been able to. This month I shouldn't have as many "distractions", so I should be able to make it this time!

Hmm...first time setting a goal! OK, as it's my first month back to any activity (gym, work, etc) since basically summer, I'm going to aim low. My goal for April will be 240 minutes.

Count me in! I will set my goal at 600 minutes for April. That will give me 20 minutes per day on my stationary bike. :ebike: Hopefully I can add some additional time with walking depending on the weather, etc.

I am doing so good this month I am going to up my minutes to 1350!

Being as this will be my first goal, I want to do something I think I can achieve so Im going to try for 700 minutes this month.

Okee .. Im not sure how much I will be able to achieve with my new shop so a new timetable to sort out .. but Im gonna aim for 500 at least ... actually .. make that 600 .. 20 minutes a day .. should be doable :)

well i usually work out for 90 mins a day so i believe that adds up to 2520 mins. good luck everyone

Hi all..I did not make my March goal :( I was 30 min short,mainly cause my monthly came and I had not had it since November sooo needless to say I had a horrible one!! Anyhow I am setting my goal at 300 minutes.

Looks like I'll be the first to post some minutes for April. Maybe that bodes well for me actually ACHIEVING my monthly goal! :lol:
I walked my dog 30 minutes this morning so... GROUP TOTAL IS 30 |

Group total ~ 30 +30 = 60 at least the math is easy at this stage. |

Did pretty good last month for my first ~ way surpassed my goal, so this month I'll try for close to the same to see if I can match it ~ my personal goal will be : 700 minutes for April.
Personal Goal ~ 20 minutes walking = 20/700 GROUP TOTAL ~ 105 + 20 = 125 |
Well, I fell abysmally short of my goal for March. But my motto is "Try, try again!" 800 minute goal for April.
I AM counting my yard work yesterday because I worked my sore and tired butt off! Personal goal - 90/800 Group total - 125 + 90 = 215 |

I did five laps around the lake this morning (walking, not running) as opposed to my usual 2 or 3. I had my MP3 player with me and that helped a lot - I didn't want to stop walking so I could keep listening to the music!
Personal Tally: 45 minutes/2.45 miles Group Total: 255 + 45 = 300 |
Add 60 minutes for me for walking on a trail yesterday (4/1).
Personal Goal: 60 minutes (540 left) Group Total: 300 + 60 = 360 minutes |
65 out of my 1000 done today at least I made a start!!
Hard work out at the gym as my trainer has made it even harder...grrrrrrrrrr 360+65= 425 group total |

Hi, add 3 HOURS of gardening AND walking for me. (We took the boys and the dog around a country park & only turned back coz the dog was getting tired & limping) I mowed & strimmed (you call them 'weed whackers' I think) the lawn AND picked up the dog poop...ick.

90 min for me on our trip, hiking the waterfall and dancing with that crazy Greek guy!
Okay, inspired by all the belly dancing talk, I pulled out an old belly dancing CD made just for working out, that is so fun! Another 35 minutes for me. 835 + 90 = 925 + 35 = 960 |
