Samantha - that's got be frustrating - maybe you should "drop" her as an exercise/diet buddy and keep her on as a regular friend instead - especially if what she does affects you.

My weigh in was this morning...down to 262...only 2 more pounds to go before my goal...will probably modify it to 250. That means I have to lose about 2 lbs a week until then, still a great goal for me, I think!!!

HI everyone! I'm new to the 3FC website, in fact this is the first message I am posting. It seems like a really motivational place. I just love all the support you give one another.

I would like to join the Super Spooky challenge if I can my goal is going to be getting below 170 lbs. It's not much, but Halloween is pretty close.

good job samantha and welcome sj

Today was pretty good. I did 40 minutes of circuit training and 60 mintes of taebo. Wish I would have went for a walk too but don'thave the energy right now. I am pleased with what I did accomplish today though. Have a nice night and will try to check in again tomorrow... Thursday is my weigh in day and want to get a bit more exercise in before stepping on that scale. Kind of nervous since I want atleast 2 lbs down but if not then I will be happy with what is gone since it will be gone.

Hi everyone. Today went well. Ran 2.5 miles (more like jogged very slowly) but my farthest distance ever.

Thanks for the great welcome,
SJ

sj that is very good. Did you do it all without stopping? I have to pace myself and can't do even 2 miles without stopping to catch my breath a bit but I am working on it

Yeah I did it all without stopping. But believe me it took a long time (several months) to get that far. I started out by walking 5 minutes and running 1 and I would repeat this three to five times. I tried to run 2-3 times per week. Every week I would add a minute of running or substract a minute of walking until I could run for about 20 minutes. It was very encouraging to do it this way because then I didn't feel like I was cheating when I walked.

But believe me there is no way I could do 60 minutes of Taebo like you did. I have to get better about doing other types of excercise. Right now I am just happy to be doing it though!

SJ - awesome job on the jogging - I was running for awhile before the wedding (I was up to 5K!) but I just haven't been motivated to start that up again. I know that when I do I won't be able to start off where I left off, but neither will I have to start off at the very beginning I guess.

Way to go, SJ!!! : cheer:
I KNOW I couldn't run that far! I bet I couldn't run a block! Maybe I should work on running, but I read somewhere that running when you are overweight is bad for your knees....any comments on that?

well good news is I am halfway to my mini goal of 145. I lost 3 more lbs and 1.5 inches (an entire inch off of my waist!) I am so excited. I did get a little exercise in today... I did my circuit training and will do a couple of miles walking. We went walking in town today and walked about a mile so far.
Sam- not sure about it being bad for your knees.

Sam - I'm pretty sure it's got to be at least HARD on your knee joints, because every extra overweight pound on your body weighs almost 5 times as much because of the downward pressure. I wouldn't do it if you have a propencity for bad knees.
