It's been nice to have so many people posting over the last month!

I have been pretty good the last month. I got a bit off track with the move for a few weeks. No kitchen and lots of fast food, so I ended up with a 2 pound gain in June. Disappointing, but I am sure that I have managed to get rid of those 2 pounds in the last few weeks. I have been trying to focus more on the exercise...always my weak point. I have also decided that I am only going to weigh myself every 4-6 weeks. I'm trying to get myself to focus more on the healthy living than the scale number. My little NSV this weekend was that I bought a medium sized summer dress! I think that I am now solidly out of the plus size shops....looking forward to replenishing my Fall wardrobe.

I hope that you enjoyed your trip (in addition to the engagement!). Must have been nice to have less of a schedule after the crunch with work and school this spring.

Welcome back!

Last minute July goals-since I just found the site yesterday!!

1. Drink at least 8 glassses of water daily

2. Write in food journal

3. Limit intake of whole grain carbs (no more than one serving daily)

4. Exercise 4 times weekly (Cardio-4, Strength-2)

5. Weigh myself at end of month

Thanks to all who have already posted their goals. Any bit of motivation helps!!!

Kris - I am surprised at the number of new members in the short time I was away. its motivating!
Congrats on the new dress/dress size. Thats great! I understand about not focusing on the scale.. I think many of us fall vitcitm to that.

My vacation was fantastic. I will post a link to pictures soon. I enjoyed my time off a lot.. but now its back to work and my email was overflowing with stuff to do. I am slowly getting back on track (still jet lagged and not getting enough sleep). I also have lots of laundry to do. Fun fun. I havent had too much time to think about being engaged til last night.. when it really seemed real. I said goodbye to some friends and they noticed my ring.. and got all excited. So that made me think about it.. and I am starting to get excited. I'm not sure when we will get married though.. picking a date is hard with school and all.

Anyways.. I probably wont set July goals, but I will get back on track soon. I bought lots of healthy food and will start exercising on Thursday (although I walked everyday in Norway and didnt gain a pound.. so thats really good).

Glad to be back.

Hello everybody...

Tanya - good for you keeping your weight even while on holiday! You are soooo close to you goal! It's great that you won't have to stress over fitting into a specific size for your wedding dress, since you are already at a healthy weight!

jackieO - hope that your July goals are going well...I can see why you have done so well with your weight loss...you sound like you have a very specific weight loss plan.

mocha - Sorry to hear that you are having a tough time this month. Hope that you won't be too hard on yourself! I looked at your web-site...you are looking fabulous!

I am skipping my work-out today....I know...I know...BAD! Just finished a major deadline at work, it is storming, I am feeling blechy, and I haven't been sleeping very well. All excuses...but I am adjusting my workouts, so I will still get my 3 in this week. I am still walking 1.5 hours per day...I will stay well within my calorie range today.

Some days you just gotta give yourself a break! shrug

Take care everybody,
Kris

Kris - Thanks. Yeah.. I guess I wont have to stress over losing weight.. but I wonder if I need to lose more or not. I have been "so close" to by goal for so long.. I wonder if it will ever happen.

And I agree with you.. people do need a break sometimes! So enjoy yours!

Okay so it's time to get down to it. Here is my wrap up for my July goals:

1. lose .84 of a pound a week - Um didn't happen The beginning of the month wasn't too good for me. I think the last 2 weeks I have really started to commit to this whole life changing thing.

2. Exercise 3 times a week - 60% I know I said I was going to work on this one, but I have been spending most of my free time looking for an apartment and a new job. It's hard for me to find the time right now for 3 times a week.

3. Drink more water - 40% I don't know what's wrong with me on this part because I was at about 99% a month ago and now I'm slipping. I will get a glass of water as soon as I finish this post!

4. Eat less ice cream - 85% This was also something that I started to do really well at towards the last half of the month. I caved in a few times toward the beginning of the month.

5. Try and eat a salad or have a healthy smoothie for lunch - 60% Well I did eat salad a lot of times for lunch but mostly I've just been trying to have low fat lunches

6. Eat breakfast every morning - 86% I have been eating breakfast a lot this month. Trying to get rid of the munchies that I normally get during mid mornings.

So overall I didn't do so well but there's always next month which is TOMORROW Time to get out the pen and paper and work on those goals which I see a lot of people have already been doing. I will do that come Friday since I want to finish out this month. Can't wait to see everyone's August goals.

Hello all,

Mocha - it doesn't sound like you did too badly with your goals at all. Sounds like you have been on track the last 2 weeks! It's always hard to come back when you've had a "slip"....you are to be congratulated! That is why you will keep those 50+ pounds off in the long term!

Tanya - Maybe 147.5 is goal for you?? Your body seems pretty comfortable there. A difference of 2.5#s is really nothing...

Guess I better start thinking about my August goals...Good luck to everybody!
