I have been working out Monday through Friday, for at least 1 hour (some days 1.5)... I was thinking about working out weekends too. Someone told me that would be too much and 5 days a week is enough.
What do you think? How often do you all work out?
Depending on how I am feeling, I take a break about every 5 days or so, but otherwise exercise every day. So it averages out to working out 6 days a week, but some weeks I only go to the gym 5 times. I think my average for March was somewhere between 75 and 90 minutes per workout. In general, as long as you keep an eye out for symptoms of overexerting yourself (in general or for specific muscle groups), I don't think you really can workout too often.
I aim for 6 days a week, but it consumes most of my free time. I do a mixture of BodyCombat, BodyPump, treadmill, Spinning, and swimming. I eat quite a bit to fuel the hours in the gym, about 2000 calories a day average last month. I could maybe eat less and lose faster, but I'm okay with where I'm at.
I go 6 days a week and I rest on Sunday. My body feels so rejuvenated on MOnday mornings that I quit minding the rest day. It used to bother me... but I am really pushing myself and I know I need the rest day... I try to keep my calorie intake low on Sundays though.
I went from working out every single day to doing 5 days a week...I found that working out in the way that I was (running and jogging for almost 3 miles straight) every night was hurting more than helping..lol so the rest is needed sometimes...but always watch your portion control and dont eat late at night!
Seven days a week, at least 20 minutes (intense minutes...) a day. I've been doing the 30 day shred and I have about a week left. I've found that I just can't go a day without exercising anymore or I get kind of nervous.
Eh, I do at least something everyday. On my 'rest', every other day, days, I still do 30-60 minutes on the treadmill of light walk/running. On my heavy days, I run outside trying to reach my goal in this area, I do kettlebell swings and presses if my arms are not too sore. I then do another 30 mins on the treadmill run/walking. I think it is whatever is right for you. It took the jaws of life to start doing anything, and I feel like I really shouldn't take that much time to stop. I guess, it keeps me going to know that even when I am kind of tired, I can at least do something light.
I do something every day as well. 3-4 times a week it's an intense bike ride (20+ miles, HRM says I burn around 600-800 calories) and then the rest is light to moderate stuff - hiking, walking the dog, 40 minutes on the stationary bike, kettlebell sets.
I workout every day, but not the same thing everyday. I go to curves 5-6 days a week and do a 45 min interval training on the tredmill 7days a week, I lift 2-3 days and do yoga atleast once a week. I would get so bored and give up if i did that same thing everyday.
I wrkout 7 days a wk. Two 30 min sessions a day one after bkfst and one after lunch. After nxt wk is done I will cut dwn to 6 days a wk startin the 11th. That way my body has @ lease 1 day of rest a wk.
I'm kind of off the workout wagon because I'm traveling but usually 6-7 times a week. In December/January though I kind of had a plateau and reduced frequency to 4-5 times a week for 60minutes in February and March and it kind of helped with the plateau but I think when I get back I'll go back to 6-7 times a week for the final push towards goal.
