So, I totally love the Biggest Loser...and it's a HUGE motivator for me! I am going to make my official weigh in day Tuesday and weigh in with the contestants. I thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone wanted to weigh in/follow the show together! If you are interested, post your start weight (either now or from Tuesday if you know it) under this thread! Can't wait for the premiere! Woohoo!
If you would like to participate, you can copy the dates into your own post and then edit that post every week with your current weight! Let's lose some pounds, ladies!

Just watched the show, what an abusive situation, I was especially disgusted by the "mini challenges" 3 down to 2 to get on the show, these people are well above morbidly obeise, inactive and out of shape, for lack of a better term, and to make them "run a mile, step 500 steps etc was just ridiculous and embarassing. putting up 40 & 50 year olds against 20 year olds etc. I always new this show was unreal and now I will never watch again. Just my 2 cents for responsible exercise
It was sad for me to see them turn down people who so badly need help, but I think the show is sooo motivating to so many people that it really does make a difference. I cried more than once watching it, and I agree, the match-ups were not fair in all cases. However, I will continue to watch, because seeing the success of others is a big motivator for me!
I thought that was sad, as well! I was hoping that they would surprise those people (especially the woman who had breast cancer and the other woman who lost her son to cancer) and tell them that they still had a spot on the ranch.
I would agree that the competition was generally unfair, but, then again, they would've been competing against people of different ages and sizes on the show, and the prospective contestants did make their own decisions about whether or not they wanted to participate. What they were asked to do was definitely rigorous, but it's on the same level with what they would have been doing on the show. I know I also still find the show hugely motivating. The BL contestants have been tremendously successful and inspiring for the rest of us.
