How is it that I eat 1100 calories and gain a lb? Only me...

Great thread! Thank you for starting it. I pretty much wasted all of August and have gained back some weight. I am not at all happy about that. I am re-starting today.

And I don't think 1100 calories made you gain a pound. It is just a fluctuation. Keep your head up.

I'm on with you all! I was up all night yesterday working, came home and ate anything and everything I could get my hands on.

This fall the focus is going to be on eating for hunger, not to keep myself awake, or for whatever other reason. Next time I have to stay up all night, the only thing I am going to do when I come home is sleep!

not fat. Don't weigh yourself every day, do it 1-2 times a week so your data points actually speak to a trend and not water fluctuation. For instance, if you go to the bathroom that pound will likely be gone.

You probably know this but.... 1100 cal is not that much, if you actually ate 1100 kcal you may be putting yourself into famine mode and hanging on to your precious fat. Although when we count we usually count a little under (well-known fact from nutritional research), so you are likely to be OK.

I need to weight myself every day for accountability. Knowing that I have to weigh myself the next day prevents me from eating whatever food is in my apartment at night - not weighing myself every day is what caused me to gain 4 lbs this summer....I know this works for me.

Yesterday was an odd day. I wasn't hungry, so I ate what I had brought to work with me and didn't eat anymore than that. I don't routinely go below 1100 calories - but I'm not going to force feed myself. I like to listen to my body, and yesterday it said "ugh, no more food, drink more water" so I did.

And its sodium, probably. Plus my body is strange. If I don't work out (yesterday was a rest day) then it holds onto fluid like its its job. I know its fluctuation, I just like seeing the numbers go down

Well I weighed myself and for two days in a row, in the middle of the day with my clothes on, I have been 190, which means I'm out of the 190s. I won't make it official until next week, but man I'm excited.

Other than that, I'm under a huge amount of stress and just want to crawl into a log and sleep all the time. My roommate has been unemployed for more than a month now, and we share a studio -- which means he's there ALL the time and there's nowhere I can go to get some time to myself.

Tomorrow he was supposed to start a new job, I was looking forward to some time to myself, going for a peaceful drive, listen to some records which I haven't done in MONTHS [and is my favorite thing in the world] because all he wants to do is watch tv ... and what happens? The company cancels the job.

****. So now, he has to move out probably in a few weeks. This is like the 4th time he's gone back and forth and I just can't handle the uncertainty anymore.

Further, he is my ONLY friend here, so if he leaves I'm back to being alone.

I'm sorry to rant here, I just don't have anyone to talk to and I'm totally bummed out.

Audrina - try meetup.com

I've recently been going and scouting events. I haven't gone to any yet (long story) but it seems like a good, free way to meet people.

I went back to the gym today after not going since mid July. It definitely felt good to be back after my little hiatus. Now that school's back in session, I definitely am planning to get right back on track and get back down weight wise.

Yay Chele!

I just ran 4.25 miles. There was some walking in there, as well, but mostly running. My ankle's been bothering me, so I'd walk for 2 minutes in between each mile to give it a little break.

Tomorrow morning is spin class

But now, for some chocolate milk, laundry folding and DVR catching up on

Happy Friday, ladies!!

I decided to skip spinning for more sleep, but I'm going to spend an hour on the stairmaster. I was 171.6 this morning and that's just un called for. I'm trying not to get discouraged.

I had every intent and purpose of waking up and heading to the gym. I am dressed and even have my sneakers on and ipod ready....but I have been so freaking dizzy all morning long. Every time I sit up straight, I get a wave of nausea. I thought I was going to pass out when brushing my teeth. I'm going to give it some time and hope it goes away in a bit.

I wasted my summer not losing weight, but now it's time to start again. I am back at 164. My lowest this summer was 155 and I'd like to achieve my goals by new years. Remember, there are a lot of obstacles ahead of us such as the holidays. It's important to enjoy them, but still remember our goals.

Totally joining in this thread! I've been maintaining this summer, but between buying a house, the wedding, the house fire and changing jobs, I haven't been doing much more than that... Now that fall is here, and I don't have any major events on the horizon, I'm ready to get back down to business.

I went for an awesome run today (again - gotta love that fall running weather!) - I was pushing myself hard the whole time, and I ran a lot faster than I thought I'd be able to.

DH and I are also making a big push to make more meals at home (mostly for financial reasons), so I'm hoping that'll help too.

Yay for being back on track!

I definitely need to join in on this, i basically screwed around all summer and didnt lose hardly any weight and went back to eating crap. This week I just turned everything around and got back on plan and to the gym! I just need the motivation to actually keep doing it!

Hey ladies! Its a short week

My weekend was odd - I worked out every day, but eating was kind of off. I also had to resort to pharmaceutical stimulants because I hadn't gone to the bathroom since Thursday - and I'm back to 168.4. I hope that sticks. I cooked for the week yesterday - made this awesome pasta/chicken/veggie dish and I'm ready for a completely OP week
