Jenny - Glad you're keeping busy. Stupid boys, it's better off in the long run :) Find some time for you!
Jess - HOORAY. That is a kick *** time. Erm, how about we run races together but not at the same pace because you'll blow right past me. AWESOME! Have a picture of the medal? Please tell me they gave you a medal. Third place is rocking. Feral - Hey, it was your bro's birthday weekend. I think you deserve a big break and celebrate :) The scale will start moving down again in no time. Stella - Boo at thunderstorms. I'm totally stoked for your hike though. I want to hear all about it. I'm kind of interested in the mental aspect of it. Are you going solo or with somebody else? Haley - YAY for meeting the Russian's family. That's some serious business. Lauren - I don't cook rice outside of a rice cooker. I don't know how you guys do it. The rice cooker is so easy! Anyway, just mix the buillon cubes into the water that cooks the rice and pop it in. When I make chicken rice, I put chicken broth instead of water to cook the rice and it tastes so good :) Very fragrant. Shan - Good luck with finals! |
Jess-My mom sucks at cooking rice and my grandma just bought her a rice cooker... I cant wait to try it out!!!
Lauren- yay for size 10's...also did you read about the smallest most tiniest mini horse that was born the other day... so cute Shan- Good luck with school Jenny- I'm glad you arent letting stupid boy rain on your parade :) I'll come visit you in Canada lol.. I googled where you live...it looks nice |
Jess - Generally with my rice cooker, I use two cups water for every 1 cup of rice (reduce it using this ratio too). This recipe calls for two cups broth, with 1/4 cup rice (if I remember correctly). Isn't that an awful lot for the cooker? The rice absorbed the liquid in the pan, but I'm not sure if the cooker might be different.
Haley - I saw the info about Einstein today...he is too much (or too little as it were)! |
Jess - I'm going with two friends, Jessie and Rachel, but I'm not sure if we're staying together. Rachel's being obnoxiously hardcore about it, so she may blow past us, and Jessie keeps saying she won't finish. I'm bringing my iPod and I have every intention of finishing, even if I have to do it alone.

I'm still alive!!

Woo hoo!
How's the scale, Icon? I have a paper due Wednesday and that hike Saturday, but I might need 20 hours laying down after that, so a flight to NZ could be in the cards. |
Jess and Haley - Thanks girls!
Feral - it was my brothers birthday weekend too, and I let loose and enjoyed myself, luckily its TOM so I don't really care about the scale because it always lies during this time of the month :D So tequila was my friend this weekend haha! Glad you had a fun time! Haley - Come visit, PEI is beautiful! It's a major tourist spot - really PEI is only busy from May - October, then its like a ghost town - yup - the whole Island! haha! I would totally love if you took a trip down here! Stella - you still rock in my books girl! way to go! |
Stella- the scale and I have not spoken since sunday, when it still said 64.8kg. So on Sunday I ate what I wanted (I had popcorn and ice cream at the movies for the first time in soooo long!) and anzac biscuits and hobnobs and then yesterday my stomach hated me in the afternoon (not sure if related) and now I am back on serious track following my trainers original eating plan. So its all muesli and fruit (and fibre xD). You can now lie in the spooning position on air new zealand flights so you should totally come :D http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/wi...-innuendo.html

OMG that's AWESOME. I wonder if CB wants to go to NZ :)
Thanks Jenny - you rock too! Okay ladies - off for a quick work out then to write that paper. Boo hiss. |
Hi girls!!! I am so freaking tired!!! We made it home from NC around 9:00 last night after a day full of driving and it felt so good to get out of the car. But I didn't sleep well last night and woke up this morning with an even worse headache than the one I went to bed with. Ugh!! It took until probably like lunch time for it to go away.
Then at school, they made us stay in our classes with one of our blocks longer than normal. They first announced that the bell was going to be held for a couple minutes. Then they announced for all teachers to shut their doors. I was starting to wonder if we were going into lockdown or something. But it turned out that there was a squirrel loose in the building and they wanted to get it out of the hallway before 1200 teenagers stormed the halls. LOL I am already in my pajamas and can't wait to go to bed ;) |
LMAO ICON - Spooning is okay, but no forking. *falls out*
|
I do have a UTI. Health center lady gave me antibiotics. Sigh.
|
Icon - Hooray to being alive!
Stella - You'll finish. Definitely bring the iPod and I'm hoping for the best weather for hiking on Saturday! What kind of weather is good hiking weather? Like slightly overcast? Lauren - A good rule of thumbs for rice cooker + water. If you place your hand flat into the rice bowl thing for the rice cooker and on top of the rice, the water should be a bit below your wrist crease. 1/4 cup of uncooked rice will use VERY little water in a rice cooker. Just mix the buillon into the chicken broth before you place it into the rice cooker. It does depend on the type of grain you have though (long grain uses a bit more than short grain since short grain is naturally stickier). But the wrist thing is how my mom taught me. Works pretty well :) |
Spooning leads to forking in some cases ;)

yay icon is alive!!!!!!!!!!!
hehehe. jess and everyone else too: i couldn't believe my time when i got to the finish. i mean, i knew i pushed myself to run fast the whole time, and i never really slowed after the start. it was awesome. i was curious, so i looked up some of my times from way back when i did cross country in high school (and weighed 125).... at a big invitational 5k with a few hills i ran 22:26. so today was a total cheat day. i ate anything and everything. you don't even want to know. but its ok... I'm going to kickboxing in a couple hours, and tomorrow i'll get back on track. here's me with my 3rd place medal! 25:20 baby!! http://hphotos-sjc1.fbcdn.net/hs452....22_38712_n.jpg |
