misplaced- i too watch 16 and pregnant it amazes me about these girls and the follow up shows when the baby is like a year old really shows there ideal thoughts of how life was going to be and what it is is totally different
Exercise buddys i love having one i'm meeting a friend on fridays now to go walk/run in town and i'm so excited

The blonde (Lizzie, I think) that went on about how "perfect" her life was, killed me. "I have the perfect boyfriend, the perfect life...we're having the perfect child and going to have this perfect little family..." Uh, sweetheart, you sent that one out into the universe....no good can come from that kinda talk. lol

The worst was the Nikkole (sp?) chick. She is in a flat out abusive relationship with that a-hole "thing" she calls a boyfriend. Quit talking about wanting to work in out for the sake of your child. For the child's sake, move and change your names. The kid needs nothing to do with that narcissistic POS. I'm all for keeping families together and children having male role models, but you could find a random convict that could do better than that creep. ICK! Classic perpetual victim.

Sounds like we all had yummy dinners last night!!!! I made "Chicken Soap Fried Rice" last night. I added chicken and mushrooms in it last night. SOOOOO yummy. Luckily I burnt my tongue last night and I didn't eat too much even though I wanted more. So guess what's for LUNCH!

Jess - that's awesome you got your mom involved! Be sure to take pics!!!! :)

Jenny - So glad to hear you are finally feeling better!!! Thanks for always being in my corner! I appreciate it so much!

Skinny - That is sad. Unfortuantely no one ever taught me in my family to eat well. I just learned to be an emotional eater. I guess it's a tough spot because as a parent, I would imagine you wouldn't want to completely berate your children's choices. For instance... you're the "chubby" sister so you need to eat better. How did her parents eat? I like the sugar free syrup too. I used that the other night on my buckwheat pancakes!

Lauren - YAY for almost Friday! I don't watch much TV much less MTV, but I've seen a few episodes on at the gym. If it's a real dipiction of how life is when you're 16 and pregnant I think that's great. I just hope they don't glorify it. As in "Oh I can be on MTV if I get prenant." Unfortunately you wouldn't believe how much goes on at that age. I mean, things that we would have never thought of doing... Last year we had 3 girls in MIDDLE school that were preggers. 1 had an abortion, the other 2 carried to term. One of which actually had her 2ND child at 15. So sad... and YAY now our tax dollars can pay their welfare. Sorry, I'll get off my soap box. I won't even get started on all of that. I understand if you need it, but unfortunately being in the position I'm in I see far too many people abuse the system and it pisses me off royally.

I hope everyone is having an AWESOME morning. I'm in a really great mood today. I slept for crap. In fact, I went to bed around 9:30-10, had a dream my alarm was going off and woke up at 11:30 thinking it was 6:00am. I kept waking up on and off all night. Sucky sleep compared to my AMAZING SLEPT LIKE A BABY sleep Tuesday night after my work out. Hopefully today's workout will wear me out and I'll sleep like a rock again.

I weighed this morning (I know, little scale obsessed at the moment) and I'm back down to 185.2 after being up yesterday. Stupid water retention. But YAY no longer obese again. LOL

TOM is coming soon and I'm starting to feel bloaty. That's the only bad thing about this BC I'm on, but I'll take the trade off for having a "better" TOM than I did off BC.

Oh and HAPPY EARTH DAY everyone (yes, the hippie in me is out today).

Oh yeah.... you guys will giggle at this. I typically try to keep the tattoo on my chest covered. There are a lot of parents and other professionals that come through my office. I have 7 tats total, 2 that are always visible (one on each wrist) but I don't worry about those. So this morning I get out of the shower and I'm rushing to get dressed and think "Oh, I'll wear my new cute top from target." It's scoop neck. I didn't even realize that my tat is visible until I got to work. DOH! No one has said anything really, but it was a total dummy moment. However, its the first time its been so visible to the kids in 2 years. So... whatevs.

Feral- i didnt see how the mom or slimmer sister ate they were on the inside of the booth but the dad had biscuits and gravy lots of meats made a couple trips to the buffet, the mom was also very slim and the dad i'd say was average not obese but had a few extra pounds. I dont ever remember eating like that when i was a kid but i remember we always had meat and potatoes we would have veggies but like broccili with cheese or squash in a casserole. so never like grilled chicken and steamed veggies. I was a skinny little thing up until the 2nd grade when i spent a couple days in the hospital due to a sever sore throat and dehydration after that the chub set on and stayed on. I dont know what correlation between being sick and gaining weight but i think its all connected.

I have to put in a plug for my bc im on seasonique and LOVE it although expensive but there is coupons and i always ask for samples because you only have TOM ever 3 months i dont noticed weight gain or bloating when my tom would be on off months i dont feel irritable or anything like when tom is actually here.

Good Morning ladies

Stella- They are so soft and yummy and my wrap last night was huge...felt like way more food than a sandwich thin

Feral- I never would have thought that a tattoo on my foot would be hard to cover but seriously unless I wear tennis shoes or uggs it shows...I only wear tennis shoes to the gym lol...

Lauren- I love that show... Nikkole's "boyfriend" is a total jerk but the worst was the one girl who lived with her dad...and her babys father was sooo mean to her...the stuff he said was ridiculous

Skinny- I was the fat sister...my sister is 115 pounds maybe... it was always that way... and you know what I never had the problems with it...unlike a lot of people... and my parents tried...but they tried on a level that wouldnt offend me and I would just get annoyed with them... A parent can only help sooo much... And its really hard to try to help your chunky kid but still allow the other one to eat what they want...but then in the same instance that child shouldnt be punished and not allowed to eat cookies because her sister is chubby...its a slippery slope... Maybe I'm weird but I didnt have the issues that came with being overweight...I was never unhappy with it or myself or jealous of my sister..

I was 194 this morning!!!!

Today is my first day at work all week... I called in sick tuesday because I'm a slacker and hung out with the boyfriend instead lol

stellarosa27 04-22-2010 10:43 AM

Hello ladies :)

Not much to report except I slept like crap as well. The dream was useful, so that's fine.

I have a question for you low-carbers. As part of my training (and its a really long story) I was recommended to eat low-carb for 3 days - to be exact about 30% carbs, 70% fats and proteins. Now, my normal diet is usually the reverse of that so I'm kind of at a loss for what to eat.

What do you ladies usually eat on a regular basis?

Jess7286 04-22-2010 11:34 AM

Stella - Check out Paleo diet, they have some interesting recommendations. But from what I see the guys that are doing it eat, a lot of meat, shrimp, asparagus/veggies, almonds (lots and lots of almonds), nut butters, fish, whole wheat stuff, a LOT of meat and protein powders mixed with stuff.

Haley - WAHOO! More than halfway out of the 190s!

Jess - I might do the 5K for the Del Mar one. Yeah, probably will. See if I can set a new PR. As far as the July one goes, I think since you're training for long runs and NOT speed, we can do the 15K. It'll be a good gauge for you too :)

stellarosa27 04-22-2010 12:38 PM

Oh, I could SO survive on Avocados, Bacon and Turkey for a few days. Yum.

starmac13 04-22-2010 02:33 PM

Hi girls

Sorry I have been mia and I promise to do personals when I get home, but

Can someone please talk me down from the food ledge?? Ever just feel like people just keep knocking you down over and over again? I am at my breaking point and want to run for the chocolate chip cookies downstairs. I just don't want to get up this time. Its almost a TKO

Sorry. I am just done with bull**** for the week

MisplacedMyHailo 04-22-2010 02:49 PM

Stay strong, chicky! Everything will be just fine. I'll give you something to simmer over: We allow ourselves to become victims. Don't get upset by that! What I mean is that no one can make you feel bad or knock you down if you don't give them space in your brain or your life. F the haters! haha If someone if trying to make you feel something that you don't want to, take away their power, remove yourself from the situation...take action against those feelings.

Look at how far you have come with your weight loss. You are an inspiration. You are a tough cookie and have said you are DONE with the BS, so it is done! (It's like Ramses in the Ten Commandments, "So let it be written, so let it be done!") Those chocolate chip cookies are nothing to you. They aren't your feelings. They won't fix anything. You probably know that deep down, you'll eat those cookies and then feel bad about that. Remember that YOU control you. You are your own person and that person is powerful!

Feral 04-22-2010 03:08 PM

Lauren - can you come be my new BFF cause you give awesome pep talks [and you have mini horses!!!]!

Alana - Lauren pretty much covered the bases and beautifully. No one can make you feel a certain way unless you allow them. Just like no one can MAKE you eat something that you don't want to. The good news is is that there's only ONE MORE DAY until the weekend!!!!!! Hang in there. Instead of taking that stress out on the cookie, take that stress out at the gym tonight. Make the treadmill your bit@h or whatever else you like to do. Chin up, and tell the haters to eff off.

stellarosa27 04-22-2010 03:27 PM

Seriously, Lauren. Can I come stay with you? I'll feed the horses as payment.

starmac13 04-22-2010 03:30 PM

Lauren and Feral - THANK YOU! I had my cottage cheese and mango. I stepped outside took a deep breath and realized I gotta do it myself. Its time to really stand on my own 2 feet and make it happen. - won't give in (well...again) to being a victim. Just read an article on that too. Okay I think I will be fine. And the gym is mine tonight. Its going to hurt but feel sooo good.

Iconised Ghost 04-22-2010 04:44 PM

ok wtf. Monday i was 64.3. Today I am 64.8?! Last week I ate more and exercised less, whats going on? This better be water weight :faint:
