I love the horses! Minis are so cute. I'm not sure what the cat question was, but I deworm mine regularly with an all rounder wormer, to get it in the cat I hold her head with my palm and squeeze the sides of her jaw at the top to open her mouth (gently but firmly). Then I tilt her head up and drop the pill straight in. Close her mouth and hold it closed (but I try not to squeeze her nostrils because i dont want her to suffocate!). Then I stroke her throat to prompt a swallowing response. Dont let her go until she swallows! Because cats are sneaky animals and WILL hold onto it to spit out later.

Speaking of cats, I just saw mine spear a fly on her extra thumb, hold it in her hand and eat it xD

Oh! And if the cats are under a year old they could look pretty wirey/lean. Ours was pretty lean until after she turned one really. Now shes puffed out :D Shes not fat, but I think shes gained around a kilo since november, which is pretty significant for a small animal xD So I wouldnt worry unless you can see ribs or something or they're off their food.

Arrrggg I have a job interview today for a job that probably wont suit me time wise and that I know nothing about. And since the application date has passed, the ad has been taken down >.< FUUU

Okay - did all 60 minutes on the stairmaster. The line was extra long for the rest of the machines, so I just did my push ups (4 sets of 20, tomorrow is going to be painful), squats and crunches.

I feel awesome though :)

JennyG 04-20-2010 07:59 PM

Haley - did u do the 99 minutes??? Are your legs complete jello?!?!? your my hero lol

Stella - your a freakin exercise rockstar btw!

I have a head cold, strept throat, and everytihng in between, i have been trying to get into the clinic since sunday and everytime I get there its full or closed because its full...so I said eff it, I'll sweat it out at the gym, so I drug my *** to Largo and I did a whole hour of kickboxing and now...believe it or not, I feel fantastic, of course my throat still hurts...but I was in the mood to just sit and eat, I ate a banana and some raisins, and thought "if i dont get the heck outta this house, I'm gonna eat my way through it".... YAY ME! I went and feel great (and I told myself all day that I wasn't going to Largo tonight)

Samantha417 04-20-2010 08:12 PM

Jenny- try some hot tea with chamomile or something along those lines in it! That always can soothe a sore throat, especially when you add some honey in it. Glad the work out helped, and hopefully you'll be 100% well soon!

That recipe for fried rice looks yummy!!

HaleyisLove 04-20-2010 08:26 PM

the fried rice is yummy..hence the soap...you can also add real chicken to it... I did that I just cooked it before I cooked the onions and stuff... seriously omg amazing

I want your horses!!! I love mini horses... big horses try to kill me :(

Jenny- With the advice of trainer bf... I decided against the 99 minutes...yesterday I almost fainted after an hour so I decided I shouldnt push it... I burn a ton of calories doing just an hour so I cant imagine how much I'd want to eat if I did more

Samantha417 04-20-2010 08:33 PM

Haley-I've been a starving mofo all day because of the 100 minutes....smart choice for you to stick to just an hour.

stellarosa27 04-20-2010 08:59 PM

Eat something, Sam!!!

Thanks Jenny - I'm no more of a rockstar than the rest of you girls :)

class is sooooooooo boring

lissa9501 04-21-2010 12:20 AM

doood i suck i forgot about that challenge for today my exercize has fallen off the chart again

Jess7286 04-21-2010 01:11 AM

So change of plans. I ended up not going to Indiana. Long story short, I'm here. So I decided to do Jen's challenge. I did 100 minutes on the stairmaster (for even number's sake). Holy crap. In the 60 minute segment, I did enough to go all the way up and down the 101. Tired.

And JESS - Totally down for the May Irongirl. Link me. And the July one. You can pick whichever one you want to do. I'm down for either. The Navy has this one on May 16 where you can run across Coronado bridge. Gonna sign up for that tonight.

Star - I'll commit when you do :)

Iconised Ghost 04-21-2010 02:56 AM

JennyG 04-21-2010 07:05 AM

Morning Ladies!

Jess - I send you a high 5!! WOW girl, good for you!

Haley - good choice! Hope you have a wonderful Wednesdsay!

Skinnybride 04-21-2010 08:06 AM

Morning girls
So this morning I'm trying a new breakfast normally i'd have multigrain cheerios and 1/2 banana so today i had 1 scrambled egg white, 1 healthy start sausage patty (about 16 calories) 1 slice of extra fiber ww toast with a tad of butter and about a tsp of honey. the scale has not been cooperative it has been going up instead of down. the weekend i'm sure didnt help with 2 cookouts both with bday for my hubbys bday. Anyways i'm breaking bad on the diet starting today LOL

MisplacedMyHailo 04-21-2010 08:11 AM

My 60 mins challenge yesterday was a success, but I spaced it out a bit too much to get a good sweaty photo! lol When I was downtown, I power-walked from the Supreme Court to the Madison Building of the AOC, about 4 blocks from entrance to entrance and back. It was a serious power walk, so I was very out of breath for my meeting! haha It was about 20-25 mins of walk time. I then spent about 20 mins spreading the last of ther fertilizer...again at the speedy walk. I wrapped it all up with 40 mins of combined cardio/aerobics with a cool down of resistance bands. I actually went a little over my 60 min mark, but I felt so pumped afterwards! Thanks so much to Feral for encouraging this!

The cat wormer I found was all in liquid form, which I read was good for multiple types of application. I ended up purchasing an all natural variety that was broad spectrum and started it last night. With four cats, getting it to them evenly was a challenge. I have put the drops on their treats and in their water (treats twice a day, water once a day...it calls for three times a day, but who is home like that!?). So far, so good. When I was adding it to the water last night, Rascal even opened his mouth for some, so he got a drop on the tongue! lol

Samantha - Congrats on the 100 mins! That was such a huge challenge, but what an accomplishment. I hope you rewarded yourself with something good for dinner!

Feral 04-21-2010 08:38 AM

Sam - cute sweater. Tell your roommate he can suck it. It really didn't look bad :) I'm having belt issues too. I keep forgetting to be ghetto and take a nail and make a new hole in my belt (just because I don't feel like buying a new one every X amount of months due to weight loss) and it really doesn't do its job since it's too big. DOH! Glad to hear the presentation went well! :)

Lauren - I am coming to steal your mini ponies.... too EFFING cute!!!!!! Your horses are really pretty and look how sweet they're being to each other.

Skinny - Lil Switz is really cute. I've only been to Ally's house once and it was AMAZING. I'll be down in Otto this summer. Know anything about that area? Sounds like a good breakfast. Could you pass some my way?

Icon - GOOD LUCK with your interview. You never know, you may still do well. I know I've had some interviews that I felt like I nailed and didn't get the job and some I felt like I was floundering around in like a fish out of water and ended up getting an offer. Stay positive.

Stella - You've motivated me to start doing my push ups. Even my half assed girly push ups. :) No really, they're girly and I do them half assed because my upper body strength sucks.

Jenny - GOOD FOR YOU going when you were crazy sick! *high five* I know that at my chiro they tell you that even if you don't feel good or are sick you need to come in. The adjustment can make you feel better. So maybe working out was helping you sweat out some of that nastiness and giving your immune system and extra boost!

Lissa - get on it girl! MAKE TIME and force yourself even if you don't want to. You really will feel better afterwards.

Jess - Way to go!!! Did you do it in your gorilla feet? Just kidding

--------------------------
Today is official weigh - 186.0 up from 185.4. All things considered I'm okay with only a half lb gain.

I am really proud of myself for my work out yesterday. I burnt 500 calories. My question to you calorie counter/work out gurus. How much is a healthy amount to burn during a work out. For example. Say you eat 1200 calories in a day. You WORK OUT and burn 800. That leaves you with 400 calories on the plus side, but you've also done your normal every day routine which in and of itself burns calories. How do you balance a deficit in order to maintain your system? Hope that made sense.

In other news I am semi grumpy. Admin appreciation week is coming up. Our PTA brought in bagels and biscuits (fast food) this morning. I was hoping I could find a whole grain bagle, but alas.... only white and these really nummy and horrible for you cinnamon sugar something or other bagels from Panera. So I had to decline. I'm not even hungry right now, but for some reason it just really pissed me off. I mean I'M MAKING THE CHOICE not to eat those foods... because they aren't as good for me. It won't fuel me as well. It will make me feel bad and it will not help facilitate me getting to my goals, but it still just made me really grumpy.

However, on the way out of the break room the principal stopped and said "Wow, you're losing weight. You're shrinking into nothing!" Which was nice and I should take that compliment as a pat on the back for making good choices.

Later one of the office ladies came by and said "I knew you wouldn't get anything from over there. You're so disciplined," which WAS another compliment, but seriously, what if I had? I need the effing food police? B*tch, I've lost 22 lbs without your help. I don't need it now.

See -- grumpy. *sigh*

Any of you guys ever feel this way? I mean, I'm not throwing a tantrum that I can't because guess what? I understand my body isn't like others and that to be where I want to be personally, I have to make certain choices and I DO allow myself treats and things I want (hello, yummy tiramasu this weekend) but just in moderation.

Picking up breakfast from chick fil a every morning last summer and drinking my weight in alcohol definitely didn't help the weight situation at all.
