Haley - SO CUTE! You and the BF. Glad you guys had fun in DC :) I still have yet to check out the museums since I moved out there. I've been to them before, but was just too busy with school/people to go spend time at the museums. I really should take advantage.

Jazz Jess - I saw your comment in the last thread but I'll be running the SunTrust Marathon in Richmond in November with Star. You will do GREAT on all those races! Would love to do the IronGirl with you but that's when I'll be gone. Find a race in July to do!

Stella - You are phenomenal. 16 miles. I think I'd just collapse haha. Is the hike this weekend? I am horrible with dates :(

Feral - WOHOO TO AWESOME WEEKEND! And bowling. And awesome dude. If he made several comments, well *wink wink* Keep your calendar open!

JennyG 04-19-2010 05:01 PM

Haley - you look great lady! And you should be happy!!! The Russian is a cutie too! Glad you had a fun time.

Feral - glad to hear your weekend went so great!! It's freezing here, I have strept throat and a head cold and tried to get into the clinic 3 times today and yesterday BUT they were full so here I am, eating halls and drinking neo citron hoping to get better LOL! I WANT YOUR "FEEL GOOD" WEATHER!! lol. Just kidding, I'll get over it. I never heard of tiramasu before - and I seen the word 3 or 4 times on these forums this past weekend, now I wanna try one, they look yummy (yeah...I googled it, lol)

Stella - I hate when that happens! And it happens to me all the time and then I go from typing a whole page worth of stuff to like 2-4 lines! I also took a day of rest, oh well, Monday - whatever!!

Skinny - YAY FOR SIZE 12!! woop woop!!

Kelly - welcome back little-lady! yay for the scale moving in the right direction for you!

Chele615 04-19-2010 06:16 PM

Feral ~ Duckpin bowling is pretty much one of the only types of bowling up here in Massachusetts. I'm just so used to the little balls that the first time I went bowling and it was just the big balls, I had no idea what I was doing!!! haha And of course I was out of town, so none of my friends even knew what I was talking about when I was talking about duckpin bowling! haha Glad you had a good weekend!!!!

Haley ~ Glad you had a good weekend with the boyfriend. Your pictures are wicked cute!!!!

As for me, I have to get my butt going and start packing! I am going down south to NC tomorrow afternoon and I can't wait to get there!!! Not only do I get to see my adorable nieces (I have been spending time with my nephew all weekend long), but it's going to be 20 degrees warmer there and in the 80's all week!!! We've been lucky to get into the lower 60's here in Mass. I am hoping for some color :)

So I'm not sure how much I'm going to be around this week. I am going to try my best, but I can't guarantee anything. Hope everyone kicks butt this week!!!!

jazzang 04-19-2010 07:10 PM

Jess - i'm down to find a race in july!!! i'll do some research in a bit.

haley - you look amazing!! i love the silliness

feral - sounds like you had a blast!! and bed n breakfast??? that sounds romantic to me....

mary - i am absolutely not a fan of spicy food. and new bmi stats, thats so weird!!! hehe.

i'm not close to the healthy bmi yet (have to get all the way to 139... over 20 more pounds!!) BUT i'm getting really close to my half-way mark of 159. I can't believe it! That will be 30 pounds lost. Then I'll have 30 more... and i know that they will be SO much harder and take a lot longer, but i'm prepared for that. I'm nervous about plateauing... i was stuck right around 167 for several weeks there, but i know that i was bringing that upon myself... i wasn't eating right. Then i hurt my knee, couldn't really get a good work out in, so i had to really focus on the eating. Now i'm working out again, AND eating right.

jazzang 04-19-2010 07:16 PM

jess - July 4th? there's a 10K at scripps ranch (lake miramar), and theres a 5K/15K in coronado. both are $30.

stellarosa27 04-19-2010 08:09 PM

Jess - Its May 1st - so one more weekend. I'm going to see if I can squeeze in a 25 mile hike, but I'll have to bring some food along with me.

Alana - there are several of us spin masters here, Mary just happens to be the newest edition :)

Jenny - I was just able to walk normal, so I'm okay with the rest day. Tomorrow I'll be back to my old self :)

So I just made this banging chicken stir fry. They sell cans of stir fry vegetables - thank God because I love water chestnuts - so I mixed that with some fresh asparagus and cut up chicken breast and a half serving of brown rice. Heaven. Just heaven. I have the left overs for lunch this week, and I went food shopping and I now have healthy food. Yaaaay :) Day 1 of eating clean has been good so far and I even have room for an ice cream bar :)

platformnine 04-19-2010 09:21 PM

Stella - Omg that sounds so amazing. Now I'm hungry again lol!

Chele615 04-19-2010 11:33 PM

Stella ~ That does sound amazing!!! I love water chestnuts...which is somewhat odd since I'm not a big fan of different textures in my food and crunchy things when you wouldn't expect crunch (like celery in tuna for example). LOL

lissa9501 04-20-2010 01:29 AM

i fell off for a few days hubby overhauled the computer to get it to run better and i burnt out on eating near vegetarian meals everyday i stopped sleeping, hubby cooked something greasy and i was sleeping like a baby that night lol
i'm still hovering in the 199-203 range but its coming down :)

MisplacedMyHailo 04-20-2010 07:53 AM

Stella - I think you have chosen my dinner for me! The stir fry sounds excellent! I was already planning a grocery trip for today, so that will work out great! I was anti-water chestnut for the longest time, but somewhere along the line they really grew on me. Like Chele, I think it was a texture issue. lol

I will spend 60 mins in workout this afternoon! I am planning to do some cardio/aerobics, but I think I'll start it out by spreading the rest of that fertilizer with the walk-behind broadcast spreader. You end up having to push the weight at a pretty brisk power walk speed, so it should be a really nice warm-up. We got all of the fields done with the exception of my minis' paddock and the lawn space. It should take me at least 20-25 mins to get it all done. I've got about 300lbs left out of 4,000, so there's the lifting too. Thank god for the hubby...he's a spreading machine and saved me from loading most of the second ton!

I have some federal appointments downtown this morning, so it was dress-up day. My poor minis ate and went out before the sun came up. They stood at the gate and banged on it like, "lady, are you crazy!? it's cold and dark out here!" For the fifth morning in a row, one of my barn cats (Gracie Lou) sat next to my feet while I did stalls. She's such a sweet little thing...my stall buddy. It really makes my day for some reason.

*On the cat note - Does anyone know much about them? I'm really a dog person, though these kittehs are pretty darn awesome. We have four (2 males and 2 females), long story on why so many, but all are siblings. They have just recently reached maturity and they girls have been spayed...the boys are up next. They free feed on kitten nibbles (until they are 1 year), but they seem too much on the lean side for my liking. (I would rather them be fuller than too thin.) I'm thinking they might need wormer, even though they rarely venture outside of the barn. (Another long story, as Gracie had a traumatic outdoor experience and told the others apparently.) Do you worm cats?

Hope everyone has a fabulous Tuesday!

Skinnybride 04-20-2010 08:22 AM

Misplaced yes most outdoor cats need to be wormed especially if they have never been wormed most kittens will get worms, you can buy wormer at the vets and give it to them at home and farm supply stores also sell wormer. Hope that helps when we had cats we kept a bottle of wormer in the fridge and gave it to them i think once a year or more if they needed it.

Skinnybride 04-20-2010 08:24 AM

The bunny rabbits around our house are really irking me they have ate half of my lilies that just came up I' put bloodmeal and baby powder on them hope that detours them from chomping down on more, and yesterday at our garden spot i saw a big fat ground hog so he needs to be trapped and relocated before i plant or we will never have a thing in the garden this year, last year one ate all the zucchini including every leaf the plant had. Its a zoo around here i tell ya LOL
Ok time to go do a workout :) have a great day

Feral 04-20-2010 08:29 AM

Lauren - Can I come live on your farm???? When you say minis... do you mean mini ponies? I'm slightly obsessed with them.

On the cat tip - YES you do worm cats. I would definitely suggest worming them (I think you can even get a wormer from some place like a tractor supply if you're familiar with doing that with your dogs, otherwise the vet). After you do that if they're still really lean it may just be genetics. One of my cats was part maine coon so he was huge and when I adopted Phoenix (son of a barn cat who abandoned the litter) and he grew up he was much leaner. He's was pretty lean for the first 2 years... now that he's 4 he's started to fill out a lot more (plus he's a neautered house cat which tends to put weight on them as well).

Jenny - YOU GET BETTER LADY!!!! I can't stand strepp. I've had it 2 times and it completely knocks me out. Like don't expect me to do anything for a few days because it's worse than the flu for me bad.

Chele - enjoy your tip down here. I think it's supposed to be rainy here (although if you're in Fayettenam you're about an hour south) towards the end of the week.

Jazz Jess - HOORAY on being so close to your half way mark!!!! I know how exciting that is. I'm roughly 16 away. Seems like it's going to take forever but we'll get there girl!!!!

Stella - why was I not invited to this dinner of awesomeness??? I think that is definitely a must try! You still have to try Haley's Chicken soap fried rice. It's sooooo yummy.

Lissa - way to get back on track!

EDIT:

Skinny - where do you live? I know the rabbits and animals are annoying but that sounds like fun having a ground hog. LOL!!! Good luck keeping them out of the garden?! What kind of stuff do you plant?

-----------------------
Good Morning!!!! Yesterday I was so lazy. I was just tired and I didn't feel like doing anything. Alana tried to motivate me to go to the gym, but I decided that I'll just have to go on Friday (one of my normal rest days). TODAY is the 60 minute work out for teh 4/20 challenge! I am kind of excited about that and AM prepared to go to the gym today after work. WOOHOO!

I panicked a little bit yesterday in regards to going to work on the farm in July. But, my friends are pretty awesome and talked me out of my tree so I feel better again. Plus, I talked to a friend of a friend who HAS experience doing what I will be doing and she shed some light on some things so I feel better about it. :)

I really need to plan out the rest of my meals for the week. With being tired comes laziness which means I end up not packing lunch and in turn I have to go to the store by work (which is always a salad, but still thats money I don't HAVE to spend)...

I ended up eating buckwheat pancakes and turkey sausage last night for dinner. And lemme tell you, I paid for all of that sodium this morning. Not only were my hands SUPER swollen but the scale was up a pound which is what I was expecting. I don't know why I forced myself to weigh knowing better, but I'm hoping it will keep me on track and encourage me to drink LOTS and LOTS of water to flush my system for official weigh again tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and this weekend is my brother's bday. I know we'll probably go out for drinks on Friday or Saturday night. I talked to his gf and she said that a friend of theirs had offered to cook a pork shoulder. Brandon is like the pig pickin' master. He makes SUPPPERRRR yummy pork, which is on plan. I just need to account for minimal drinking (ish?) this weekend....

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!

stellarosa27 04-20-2010 08:54 AM

Haha, well thank you ladies for thinking my lazy idea was a good one. I'm just really trying to eat well for the next two weeks and I figured chicken + veggies + a little bit of rice was pretty balanced (and really easy).

Feral - The thing is I'm just not a fan of fried rice, but one day I will try it. When other people are around so I can share.

Skinnybride - Okay, I know the bunnies are annoying, but that is SO CUTE. I grew up in the city, so when I moved out to the "sticks" as I call the DC suburbs I was amazed at all the bunnies just hanging out. My cat loves them too.

Lauren - OMG I want to come live with you. I have a cat, but she's an indoor cat (and I know more about dogs) so I can't help you there...

Okay - day 2 of operation eat clean so I don't hurt myself on the hike. I had a yogurt parfait for breakfast, I have some of that stir fry for lunch, and I have fruits, veggies, string cheese and a turkey wrap for later. I also get coffee today (YAYAYAYAYAY). I found these "wrap ups" at bloom last night - they're kind of oval shaped wraps that are 100 calories - lots of fiber and whole grains and I got the honey wheat flavor. I spread laughing cow cheese on them, coated that with baby spinach and then used low sodium deli turkey. I'm sooo excited for it later. Soooo excited..

(such a fat kid)

HaleyisLove 04-20-2010 08:58 AM

OMG Lauren if they are mini ponies I'm coming to visit... um I love them... Feral you an come too

Thats all I have time for...the thought of mini horses made me really excited... I drive by a farm of them every morning an if one goes missing it wasnt me :)

And to clear up the chicken soap fried rice... it was so yummy I had to add soap to it so I wouldnt eat anymore of it...yes because I'm a fat kid...but if you make it...you'll understand why the soap is needed

Have a fabulous day ladies
