Lauren- My roommates made pizza. That was my reward! And I still stuck to calories for the day (not that it mattered, i burned 1000 calories!)

Skinnybride: those breakfasts sounds delicious and very healthy! It's good that you're not letting that weekend bring you down! My weekend was VERY bad and I just stuck to my diet once it was over. We'll soon see the scale moving in our favor soon :)

Jenny- How are you feeling today? Hopefully better!!

Jess: Awesome job! The 100 minutes is a great challenge, definitely rewarding!

Feral- I try to burn at least 600 at the gym, that way I know that I won't go over my daily allowance. But I also exercise for 60 minutes every day because of the recent change that says that you have to exercise 60 minutes a day. So by that point, I automatically burn around 600 calories. And I HATE when people notice what I eat and don't eat. I also get annoyed when people say I'm shrinking into nothing...It's nice to say that they've noticed my weight loss, but I am not even close to nothing. I hate exaggerations. There's a girl that sits next to me in my one class. Usually between my previous class and that one, I go to the gym. So I pack a lunch to eat in class...and she ALWAYS comments on what I'm eating. It's nothing bad, she actually admires my "diversity" of lunches because she's just a pb+j girl. My boss last year commented that the summer before I ate nothing but "pocket lint". That one TICKED ME OFF!!!!! But I have had people comment similar to what you had...and it just bugs me to no end!!

-------
I have nothing to report yet being that I have JUST gotten out of bed. I plan on going to the gym now since I don't have a class until 2, and I guess I can start working on laundry...reluctantly. It's 1.25 for ONE LOAD. so you end up paying 2.50 just to wash and dry one load. It's insane. I can't wait to be home so I can be near some tracks...I haven't been running lately because I get so bored on the treadmill because you don't go anywhere! Same problem with the indoor track. Unless there's some shirtless dudes playing basketball, it gets boring real fast. Anyone know any tricks to kick the boredom until I get home? I feel like I get my best workouts running, but I just can't seem to do it anymore!

ps: I just went potty (I'm sorry, I know TMI but it helps!!) and weighed myself....yesterday I was 143.8...today it read 142.8!!! WHOO HOOOOO!!!! But I'm not counting it yet. When I've been getting so close to my goal, the numbers have been a little hard to keep a grasp on. I'm just happy to see that 2! I haven't been this low since...sophomore year of high school! I'm also thinking of changing my goal to 135. I don't think I'm going to be done at 140. We'll see. I've really picked up weight training for my abs and thighs, so hopefully that'll help soon.

Feral thats a nice area too the franklin area, be sure to get out and ride along the parkway some good mountain scenic views. Since you are that close a day trip over to TN pigeon forge are we love it over there. My mom and i do a lot of craft festivals thru the summer we make handmade pet accessories so a lot of the smaller towns around wnc we have been in and the historic downtowns are a nice way to spend a day walking around.
Breakfast was yummy now to get my butt up and exercise then work on some doggie bathrobes. :)

Samantha - Pizza works! Your exercise regime really is inspirational. After yesterday's challenge, I am really going to try to keep it up. I had forgotten how much more energized I feel after a good workout.

Feral - I know exactly how you feel. Several people know that I am on this little weight loss journey. On the one hand, it really helps with my accountability. If I've told them about it, they have expectations of my progress, so more is riding on my success than just me. On the other hand, I definitely feel judged if I CHOOSE to eat something that doesn't fit into someone else's definition of "diet". I have had to explain, too many times, that my "program" doesn't involve deprivation. I can eat anything I want (in moderation), but I have to "pay for it" by eating better the rest of the time, exercising more, etc. The food police are also not "dieting", but often should, so who the F are they to judge me!?! GRRR...I am so with you. I keep having to remind myself that I am doing this for me, no one else. We are in this together and owe no one else anything. We are getting healthier our own way...to heck with them and their judging ways. Tell that b!tch to take a bagel and shove it! haha

I'm also glad that everyone liked the pics. Funny thing: The hubby "rode" Tyke last night! He got a case of the a$$ coming in, ran backwards and sorta backed in between his legs. He's 6'1" tall, so he just straddled him and directed him back to the barn (no weight, since the minis should really only handle a max of 75lbs at full size). He's my little riding horse!!! He was a doll about the whole thing. Trouble, when he attempted the same, nearly had heart failure...so much for my dreams of her being my kid's first pony! haha She'll get there.

The pic of Toy and Taylor "kissing" may look sweet, but I took it just before she tried to bite him! lol When we first got Toy he was a stud like Tyke. We weren't sure if we were going to leave him intact, but juniors can't show a stud, so we had him cut. We must have waited a little too long, because he knows what all his parts were for and remains quite the ladies' man. He says dirty things to mares all the time and sends them into a tizzy. He also does a "hey, girl! look over here." pose (perfect for the Hunter ring), that's really cute. He loves Taylor, but she often plays hard to get. They both can be jerks to each other sometimes, so it's a perfect match!

Feral - I take the discipline as a compliment. You ARE disciplined. You choose what you eat, you work out, you select and win your battles. That's discipline. That's how I choose to look at it. And I take the nothingness as a compliment too. I'm pretty sure what they meant was MAN YOU LOOK GOOD YOU'RE LOSING WEIGHT NICE WORK but it might've came out wrong. And, even if you DID grab a bagel, I would eat it with pride. I hate when people think you have to eat nothing but horse and rabbit food to lose weight. You can eat fried rice, ice cream, and whatever the **** you want and still lose. I make it a point to stress it to everyone that comes to my house and watches me eat (aka my mom's friends). It helps them out too, knowing that they don't need to only eat fruit and veggies, that well-balanced meals are essential. So be proud of what you eat and if need be, give them a little proper education. In the end, you know what you're doing works and that's all that matters :)

As far as the calorie counting goes, I never trust the machine and I believe all the machines lie when it comes to calorie. Each person's body is different. How does it know that we all burn the same amount of calories? AND, it's a lie because your body isn't stupid. If you do the same exercise (and especially when you get smaller/lighter), your body will naturally burn less calories. Your body is smart (and lazy) and will find the most efficient way to do the most work, so hypothetically speaking, if you were burning 300 calories a month ago on the elliptical, you probably aren't burning that amount with the same settings now.

You can't do math like that with your body. The calories burned/calories consumed are never exact, so don't have it set in stone. It's a ball park measurement, a rough guideline.

AND YES! I did do the Stairmaster in my gorilla feet! It's an amazing way to break them in (who would've thought...)!

stellarosa27 04-21-2010 09:26 AM

Feral - I don't really pay attention to what the machine's say - I've heard too many times "the machine's lie, blah blah blah" so I just go based on their distance - you burn roughly 100 calories for every mile (give or take a few) so I just figure if I go 5 miles on the Stair Master, I've burnt 500 calories. However, that being said, I don't really factor that into my eating. Even when I was on WW I didn't use my activity points, I just feel like I'm undoing what I just did. Others probably do different things, though.
(PS - this is also why I want a heart rate monitor)

Samantha - That sweater is cute!!

I'm grumpy. I weighed myself today - 173.6 - and I'm down since Saturday, and considering I ate like crap Saturday, broke my body Sunday, etc, its fine. I'm just grumpy (and tired). And class last night was so effing annoying.

Skinnybride 04-21-2010 09:51 AM

Whew!!! I just did turbo jam sculpt 40 Mins and i took no breaks so proud!! And i did it in my new skectchers shpe ups which made it a little harder to balance :)

MisplacedMyHailo 04-21-2010 09:57 AM

skinnybride - How do you like the shapeups? They are pretty pricey, but I like the all white ones. I am afraid to take the plunge without knowing anyone who already owns them.

Skinnybride 04-21-2010 10:08 AM

misplaced- I really like them i took a about a half mile walk in them yesterday and this morning i can really feel my leg muscles are a little sore and my other cardio was turbojam and yoga so i'm sure it was from the shoes. After you walk in them a bit your legs feel really tired and heavy so i'm working up to longer walks in them. I got mine for $70 from kohls I have a kohls charge card and they had 30% off plus kohls cash so i got $10 back as well so really with the kohls cash more like $60.

MisplacedMyHailo 04-21-2010 10:12 AM

Wow. $60 is MUCH more reasonable. Still more than I'd like for something that may or may not be as great as they claim, but it sounds like you're noticing something! I must look into this Kohls business...

stellarosa27 04-21-2010 10:15 AM

Feral - I get annoyed at that as well. Yes, I'm disciplined, because I WANT THIS. And also, I'm really not. I'm just in control. I'd say "just ignore it" but I know how hard that is, and I know how annoying those seemingly back-handed compliments are. I usually take my frustrations out on the gym.

Yes i wasnt going to pay the 110 regular retail for a pair of shoes My normal new balances i pay usually 40 on sale so 60 wasnt too bad i used the 10 kohls cash on some cute (MEDIUM YAY ) shirts that were on clearance and i had a 15% off coupon I love kohls i have a charge card to get the special discounts and coupons but i charge it and then when they hand me my receipt i go i'd like to make a payment on my card and pay it off so i never have a cc bill or pay interest.
Anyways I just did my normal mail walk/run and i must say this time a ran 1/3 of what i normally do in regular shoes and man oh man it was hard in these shoes. Friday i'm going walking in town with a friend not sure how many miles we will do but that will be the real test i'll post up my post workout feeling about the shoes. Oh and when you are walking you can really feel your butt powering.

Skinnybride 04-21-2010 10:31 AM

Speaking about food there was a pretty good amount of my hubbys bday cake left and i had a couple bites of it yesterday after looking at the scale this morning i got the whole thing and tossed it in the trashhttp://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/imag...les/cheer2.gif

Feral 04-21-2010 10:37 AM

HAHAHAHH Go Skinny! Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

kabaker 04-21-2010 11:03 AM

Has anyone tried the Reebok Easy tone shoes? I am interested in them and I like the look of them better than the Shape Ups.

Samantha417 04-21-2010 11:38 AM

I've always been curious about those shape ups. I got fit flops a couple years ago and hated them. They looked weird on me and I didn't gain a single benefit from them.

skinnybride: good girl!!!! I always hate throwing out food, but when you keep picking at it, it's the best thing you can do for yourself!

edit: I just weighed myself again since I just got back from the gym and now it says 141.8. I am totally keeping my fingers crossed that this is true!!!
