I think I am going to be on the quest for a food journal today... or I may just be looking for an excuse to slack at work. |
Not much time for personals until later today!
Lauren - Yes to wormer, and also make sure you get them checked for Feline HIV/aids and lukemia, and if they're outdoor cats it's also a good idea to put them on regular heartworm, flea, and tick medicine. And I agree with Feral, how heavy/lean a cat is totally depends on genetics. My one cat is very mixed (farm kitten) but she's huge so I'm sure she's some part large-breed, and my other cat is a frail little thing, yet she eats like a cow. You can also call your local shelters or vet for any other questions and advice :) I'll read the rest and get to everyone else later today when I have a minute! |
Feral ~ Fayettenam? LOL Sounds like what my friends and I call Manchester, NH up here (Manch-Vegas). When looking at the long range forecast, I think the rain shows up on Saturday which is fine because my niece's first T ball game is Friday and we're actually leaving Saturday afternoon....so it can rain while I'm stuck in the car with my parents for a 14 hour drive ;) LOL
|
Ok if the rest of my weight loss is like this I'll be frustrated and pissed off for three weeks and thrilled one week. Friday = 219.5, Today = 216. :| Maybe I'll go weigh on the boys' scale to see if mine is lying...

Hey everyone, I don't really have much to report. I did 100 minutes on the stairmaster for that challenge today, and I'm so tired now!
Also, at starbucks this have this vanilla rooibos tea...it's SO GOOD! It's a simple tea bag, just add one packet of whatever sugar you use, maybe a tiny splash of milk..and it's delicious and has barely any calories in it! I found my new addiction. stella- i found these wraps for 90 calories that are REALLY good! I forget the name of them though cause I already ate them all, but they come in different flavors. I got them at walmart but I'm sure you can find them anywhere else. and all this talk of cats is making me miss mine. :( have a great day everyone! |
Samantha - They sound like the one's that I bought. The whole wheat and Italian herb were 90 calories, but I wanted honey wheat, so I sacrificed the 10 calories (that I probably burnt off while typing this).
Sam - Don't do it! Scales never convert. Yours is telling the truth! :) You were at a stand still for a bit, so its no surprise that you had a whoosh :) I just had my stir fry leftover - god I'm amazing. I'd marry me. Just for the food. |
Feral- near asheville, NC the critters will eat you out of house and home LOL i dont mind the rabbits they are cute in the FRONT yard not eatling my lilies lol the ground hog is a little bugger he will eat everything i plant if i dont relocate him, I grown tomatoes, cucumber, squash, zucchinis, okra, corn, cantalopes, watermelons last year i got 1 zuc, no cantlopes and no watermelon cause the other one ate then down to nubs LOL
|
I have 10min left for lunch and my fingers are still too big for these tiny blackberry keys, but ill do my best. Plus I am in a bit of a food coma. Lentils are just so filling.
Sam - congrats on the weight loss. How did your presentation go? Samantha - the tea from starbucks sounds really good. I will have to look for it this afternoon Haley - you and the boy look so adorable together. And what is in this chicken soap fried rice? I promise I can handle it. I have my soap bottle ready to pour Feral - what? Why motivation didn't help? I gotta work on my approach next time. And einstein bagels is a place I can't go anymore. I will buy a dozen before they ask to help me. Kelly - hi! hope the new job is going well Skinny - woohoo to a size 12 Stella - my bad. I give mad props to anyone who can sit on that seat. I tried once and was in pain for 2 days Jenny - hope you are felling better. Don't try the tiramasu. Its a diet's worst nightmare. So fluffy and creamy and... Ok I'm back. Jess - since we have until june before the price changes, I am going to push myself hard in may. If all goes well I might be kicking and screaming for 26.2 miles. Now my thumbs hurt. I am getting my hair cut today after work. I kinda know what I want, but don't know if it will work with my face. I'm thinking long layers. - just want something with some edge to it. I have had the same hair style for at least 15 years. Back to work. Boooo |
Alana - Check your email. I emailed you the Chicken Soap Fried Rice recipe. (HA I just like calling it that now) And um yeah... tiramasu can be either REALLY good or REALLY bad depending on who makes it. *comes to as well* Dang. Take pics of the hair cut! And ask the stylist. If it's a good stylist you guys could probably come up with a cute hair cut that has a little more edge to it but will compliment your face as well!
And I'm so ready to get out of work and go to the gym! Chele - that's what everyone around here calls Fayetteville because it's a military town. :) We call Greensboro and Greenville G-Vegas... Sam - DON'T do it. Remember how I thought my scale was all fracked up because it was hopping all over the place? I think it was kind of, but for the most part it was dead on. I would just have to step on it a few more times to get a more accurate reading. I bought a new scale which says about the same thing... but the bf's scale may be different and I'd hate for you to see a number you don't like and then get disappointed. Samantha - 100 minutes?! Are you kidding me?! GREAT job! Skinny - That's right, I remember now because I asked to come live with you. Super jealous!!! :) Sooooo looking forward to my time in the mountains this summer! My friend that lives in Lil Switz threw watermelon seeds down in her back yard going down the side of the mountain and had them growing there last year. She also had some baby bears and came tra-la-laing along too!!! I bought a food journal on Amazon. It's actually the same one Jen (Prior Fat Girl) just bought. I really liked it because compared to the others that were shown I felt like you could track more stuff. When I was doing WW I was RELIGIOUS about writing EVERYTHING down. I have a hard time putting it on sparkpeople or fitday because I don't really think about it. Plus if I'm writing it down I'll be more conscious of what I'm doing. That way I can really PLAN my meals and also take a look at the calories I'm putting in my body as well. I know I keep saying that but that's why I bought the journal. WHEEEEE!!!! Did I mention on here my sugar free chai concentrate came in the mail yesterday? I love iced chai, but unfortunately the concentrates have a BILLION grams of sugar in it. I foune SF online and bought one to test it out. No calories, no sugar, sweetened with splenda. That will be my treat tonight! YUMMMM!!!! |
Star - It went swimmingly! I definitely passed. Hooray! Now I get to graduate!
Also, I am addicted to Ronzoni smart taste pasta. Damn pasta, why do I crave you so. |
Oh Sam - what'd you wear with your pinstripes?!
|
Thank you all for the cat intell. I feel so stupid to have not thought of wormer! My dogs get wormed, the horses get wormed, but I'm new to the world of the feline...duh, everything probably needs wormer. I wasn't able to respond until now, but I went by Petco on the way downtown and bought something that should be fairly broad spectrum (everything else was strickly roundworm). Now to figure out how to get it in the cats! haha
AND YES...I have mini horses. We have four of everything, it seems. Four dogs, four cats, four horses (two big and two mini)... come **** or high water I am NOT having four kids. No way. No how. The two minis are fantastic, precious, and bad as can be...all at once. I'll try to attach a photo of them if it'll work. We have one stud and one mare and intend to breed. Yes...baby minis!!!!! Our stud is only a year old (this month) and is a smokey brown tobiano (paint), Fox Tails Manor Tycoon (aka Tyke). Our mare is a delicate 2 year old little grey, Summer Rose (Trouble). All of our horses have T names, which wasn't intentional at first, but is now part of a challenge we have to keep it going. My (full sized) horse is a Trakehner gelding, Misplaced My Hailo (Toy), and we also have a Paint/TB cross mare, TaylorMade (Taylor). We won't be ready to breed the minis for another couple of years, but they are just wonderful. Banging on the gate is about the worst of it. Except that I've had horses almost my entire life and never once got bit until I got these. They seem to want to "taste" you sometimes...like they think they're playing or something. They're young, so I'm still working with them. My big guys have learned flawless ground manners, so it's certainly a switch. We've had Toy since he was 3 (he's now 15), so I know I can bring them around! You are all welcome to come see them anytime! They are all (four) like big dogs. Stella - The honey wheat wrap sounds fabulous. Perhaps I'll add that to my list. I would think it would go nicely with plenty of things. 100 cal is also pretty good, comparative to other wraps.
Haley and Feral - What is this chicken rice business? I drive my husband crazy with my use of chicken all the time, but if I can find more ways to dress it up, maybe that will make him think twice about bothering me! lol aliquot - congrats on the loss! Frustrating though it may be, you're getting there, girl! |
Haley found a really amazing recipe for fried rice and she passed it on to me. Don't say you weren't warned of it's uber awesomeness. I can't help you if you can't stop eating it... you either are gonna eat all of it (hello, I have an inner fat kid) or throw soap in it (like Haley) to keep yourself from eating it.
ingredients 2 sprays cooking spray 2 large egg whites 1/4 cup scallions, chopped ( i used real onions bc thats what i had ) 2 medium garlic cloves, minced 2 cups chicken broth (99% Fat Free) 2 cubes chicken bouillon 1/4 cup carrots, diced 1 cup long grain white rice (may use instant by following instructions on package; keep hot) ( I used medium grain white and didnt use the whole chicken broth thing but you should if you do brown rice...supposedly that works better) 1/4 cup frozen green peas, thawed ( i used can peas lol) Directions In medium pan, add bouillon to chicken stock and boil. Add rice and simmer until cooked (approx 20 minutes). Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and set pan over medium-high heat. Add egg whites and cook, until scrambled, stirring frequently, about 3 to 5 minutes; remove from pan and set aside. Off heat, recoat skillet with cooking spray and place back over medium-high heat. Add scallions and garlic; sauté 2 minutes. Add carrots; sauté until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Stir in reserved cooked egg whites, cooked brown rice, peas and soy sauce; cook until heated through, stirring once or twice, about 1 minute. Number of Servings: 4 Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user ANGIETUNIE. Number of Servings: 4 Personally, I modified this with brown rice. I also am not a big scallions fan so I didn't use that. I didn't read and only used one bullion cube and it still tasted fine to me.You can use 2 which is calls for, it probably would give it more flavor or you could use one and cut down on the sodium. But seriously.... watch out. It's a very EASY meal to make and it's super yummy! Enjoy! |
Feral - I wore a grey sweater I got from lane bryant a bit ago in a 14/16. I almost freaked out and didn't wear it because my gay roomie was like "I don't like it" and I was like ;____; but whatever, I really didn't even have anything else to go with it anyways.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/10...99/Defense.jpg Pardon the crappy bathroom shot...I have to hold the camera super high because I can't stand back away from the mirror far enough to see the whole shirt. The pants were huge-normous and threatened to fall off all day. They also unfortunately had no belt loops. |
