  • I usually make a shake before work. I use Alton Brown's recipe. It's just Acai juice and then a banana, some blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. I use frozen berries so I don't have to use ice or milk and I make it the night before and blend it up before work. Works out well!
  • I make the egg muffins like Feral does. I don't usually eat them in the morning, but DH loves them. I just add a little cheese to his.

I'm a big fan of smoothies, too.

Im a pretty boring breakfast person, but I wanted to echo the egg muffin idea!
  • I make my egg in a basket with pam or butter, depending on what i have at hand. If I use butter, I just use about a quarter tbsp tho. I didn't watch the video, but all I do is cut a whole in the bread, put it in the skillet, crack an egg in the middle, cook it a bit, flip it over, cook it a bit more, and eat...I like it runny in the middle so the bread soaks it up

I also eat a lot of ham, egg, and cheese breakfast muffins, and those egg white flatbreads from dunkin donuts. I feel like a lot of those things have gotten bad raps, but they're actually really filling and usually about 300 cals.
  • I'm obsessed with Greek yogurt. Fage brand especially. I put a little splenda and vanilla in the nonfat yogurt, add some fruit, and then break up a wheatbix biscuit on top.
  • my breakfast thing lately has been 2 slices of country kitchen raisin bread (50 cal each) with 1 tbsp reduced fat peanut butter, and a piece of fruit

sometimes i also like to make a grilled cheese sandwich with light bread, a slice of reduced fat cheese, turkey bacon, and sliced tomato. i make it in my george forman or in a toaster oven
  • smoothies are fantastic. I just made on last night with strawberry yogurt, frozen peaches, pineapple and strawberries, a little protein powder and natural apple juice. so good and made like 4 serving.

greek yogurt with a larabar crumbled in it is really good too, but i do that more for a snack.

this weekend i am picking up some whole grain waffles. My trainer suggested a pb and banana waffle sandwich. sounds good and i can take it to go. maybe with a little honey as well.
  • Breakfast sushi is one of my faves and oh so simple: Take some sort of low calorie wrap (I use a whole wheat Flat Out 100cals) and thinly smear peanut butter over as much as you can (1 to 2 tbsp, your preference). Then cut a smaller banana into stick like shapes and arrange them on the wrap; after that, roll that sucker up. At this point you have two options: eat it like a burrito, which is great for an on the go situation, or slice it and enjoy your "sushi" with a glass of milk.
  • My go-to quick breakfast of champions is so easy and full of nutrients and everything I need!

    - cup oatmeal (quick cooking...not that instant packaged stuff full of sugar, real oats are just as quick--you can boil water or put it in the microwave with water
    - 1 scoop clean protein powder (whatever i have on hand, I love vanila!) OR 1 scoop almond or peanut/another nut butter (again, not the processed sugary stuff but the natural stuff!
    - A little bit of bee pollen b/c it's sooo good for you (but can be expensive and doesn't taste so great
    - 1.5 Tbsp of flax seed....keeps me regular!
    - Then I add any fruit or anything else I have to make it taste great! Like bananas, raisins & cinnamon (my fav) or a cut up apple & cinnamon, berries (I like buying a big frozen bag from Costco)

Breakfast of champions if I do say so myself! Plus it keeps me full for hours!!
  • Here are my fav's:

-oatmeal with peanut butter and banana (you can cook up a batch on the weekend and reheat on workdays)
-Green Monsters (banana, spinach, frozen fruits and soy milk in a blender...yumyumyum)
    -greek-style yogurt with granola
-half a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and a hard-boiled egg
-small bran muffin (watch the added sugars though) and an egg-white veggie omelet
  • So I just watched the egg in a basket video....please people, don't use ALL THAT BUTTER!!! Use a little extra virgin olive oil or even cooking spray. If we're trying to lose weight, we can't be using all that butter!
  • Quote: I'm obsessed with Greek yogurt. Fage brand especially. I put a little splenda and vanilla in the nonfat yogurt, add some fruit, and then break up a wheatbix biscuit on top.
I was going to say the same thing. Its amazing what a little splenda and fresh fruit does to plain greek yogurt. Blueberrys are my no fail choice. Yumm.
  • Ha! I got home last night and my mom had made some of the little breakfast muffins for me for breakfast. SCORE!
  • My favorite breakfast is a whole wheat sandwich thin and a tablespoon of reduced fat peanut butter. Only 3 WW points (not exactly sure of the calories, but 3 pts doesn't come out to that much) and quite filling
  • This morning I made eggs in a basket it was delish. I will be using all the suggestions for sure! Thanks ladies.
  • I like a few others dont always eat breakfast for breakfast. I tend to eat whatever Im in the mood for. I love egg white ommelettes with turkey and onions. and it doesnt take long to cook, oat meal with yougurt mixed in, boiled egg and string cheese, a serving of pepperoni..........breakfast is my most important and usually biggest meal of the day. So I try to make it extremely tasty.
