im new on here but its so nice to know Im not the only one struggling.I have been in the 200s for I dont know how long. I just had my second and last child.I am determined to do this for them and for my health.
Haley - Don't feel stupid! Small steps at a time. Maybe when I get more in shape, I'll start uploading youtube vids. That means I'd have to get weights at home though. Damn. Or I could use stuffed animal props
One pound loss this week. New scale = 213.6, old scale = 203. So safe to say I'm 10 pounds heavier than I thought, but hey, pound loss is pretty good!
UGH...so i weighed in this afternoon (maybe it was a bad time...) but the scale went back up to 239.6, lets see what tomorrow morning bring.
i just got all of my groceries delivered...what was i thinking when i ordered them...somehow they forgot my chicken, looks like its going to be cottage cheese and fruits tomorrow until i can make it to the market!
didnt make it to the gym today, but i did get a chance to set my mini goal for my birthday, its exactly 21 days away, my goal is to be down to 229 by march 16th!
Hey Jess, thanks for the advice! I have exercise induced asthma, so I worry about pushing myself too hard on the treadmill. Do you think it would be better/healthier for me to go faster with less of an incline, or slower with more of an incline?
I'm definitely not afraid of building muscle! I would absolutely love to have big muscles! I usually do three sets of 10-12 reps on the machines at my gym, and I do push myself pretty hard on those (ie: until I can't do any more). I'm a lot better at the weights than I am at the cardio (possibly because I can breath better, lol).
aliquot: I'm up in Gainesville! Just graduated from UF. I was born down in your neck of the woods, though
Classicrock - do you have an inhaler or something from the doc? I have an albuterol inhaler that I actually use before I start my cardio and it helps me from closing up while I'm running. Also, I work for UF down in Vero Beach, its such a small world!
getting ready to have some breakfast.........mmmm....special k!!! Hope everyone has a great day!! how often do you all exercise.......6 or 7 days a week? just wondering??
Good Morning...its rainy here in NY which makes me not want to work out but I sucked it up this morning and made it to the gym by 6:30.
I weighed myself this morning, 235.4. not bad since the last time which was 236, I had food poisoning before my last weigh in so I am guessing that had something to do with my 6+ loss in a week. Now I am back on track and hoping to make my first mini goal of -10% which should bring me to 220.5lbs.
ethsmommy- I do an hour of pretty intense cardio everyday... I might miss a day here or there but its at least six days a week... and by intense I mean dripping sweat
yeah i am doing 6 days a week.......well......its only my 2nd week.....but......you know what i mean. i think wed. is gonna be my rest day....i bowl with 2 friends of mine on a league that night......and last week.....i was so tired from excercising.....i didn't bowl all that well. it sucks...im doing this with my fiance....and he lost 3 lbs last week.......grr men!!! i told him he will drop it a lot faster that me..jerk...lol!! and we have the biggest loser wii game and he does the yoga on there......makes me laugh.......you would think that a man would wanna do some heart pumping cardio or weights......not him.......he likes the yoga. i can't even get into some of those positions.....lol!!! and i injured my back....in jan......so all that stretching of my body bothers my back!! So what do you all do for a living.......sorry.......im just trying to get to know everyone. I think i said before......i'm a stay at home mom........went to school to be a medical assistant though......but my kids are my life....no matter how angry they make me somedays!!! i'll check back in later!!
I knew I shouldn't have trusted that 229.5. :| Me and 231 have been getting WAY too acquainted.
ethsmommy - I am currently a graduate student in Biotechnology and I will graduate with my masters in May! I am also a laboratory technician at a medical entomology lab. Also, you can call me Sam if you want!
so I'm beginning to wonder if there's such a thing as losing weight too fast! ...granted I've been sick, but yesterday I was at 208 and this morning I was at206. I know I'm drinking enough but I definitely have slacked on the exercise until this chest cold clears.
aliquot: Yep, I do have an inhaler. It doesn't work as well as I would like, but I will try using it before I get on the treadmill and see if it helps me.
So, I just got a new job (like yesterday, lol). Which is good news, because I'll be making money. But, I don't get home from work until after 6, and then I'm so tired I have no motivation to get back out after dinner to go to the gym. Does anyone else experience this? How do you get the motivation?
classicrock - YES. Personally, if I wait to go to the gym until after dinner...I DONT go. Maybe you could try bringing a snack with you to eat in the car or something when you leave work so you're not dying of starvation and change into your gym clothes before you leave work. That way you can just drive right to the gym and not go home at all!
