oh i forgot to answer the question.
my biggest struggle with weight loss is food. portion control, eating when i'm not hungry- you name it. i'm not one of those people that can just cut out the sweets . i love FOOD. all kinds i dont think i've mentioned it in any of the team threads or on this board. but i'm actually bulimic. the term translates to 'oxen hunger' or the hunger of an ox. and sometimes- thats what it feels like hah. i struggled for years with overeating so really my the biggest hurdle i have is saying no to myself. |

i try drinking lots of water too, just to FEEL fuller. like popcorn- you can get some very low cal stuff and eat the whole bag. it feels like you overindulged but its better than sitting down with that pint of ben and jerry's =) i'll try to remember those things, thanks shannon |
Also, I read that you are more likely to grab snacks from your right side(no matter your dominate side). So, keep healthy snacks on your right and your not so healthy ones out of reach, preferably to your farrrr left. I know I have ramen in my house and I love ramen when I haven't had it in forever. Well, I keep it in the left cabinet up high. I have to really think/try about it if I want it.

I think a cardio challenge would be the best too. That's my weak point i think, I mean, it's my weak point in the sense that I have the hardest time getting myself out to do it. I did 2500 meters on the rowing machine yesterday, and my shoulders are killing me!! I'm planning to get back to the gym today so hopefully I'll do 2500 more!
My biggest struggle with weight loss in the past has been, not sticking to it. I'll lose a little bit of weight adn then stop trying and gain it back. The difference this time you might ask??? I actually don't know. I'm happier now in my life than I have ever been. In fact the only complaints I have about my life right now are directly related to my weight and how I look. I've always eaten fairly healthy, but with lots of extra treats I guess, and when you don't exercise, that's where it added up for me. Anyways, it's a whole new me this year, so WATCH OUT! I'm up for the exercise challenge! Did 30 minutes last night and I plan on 34 minutes tonight (I do 30 minutes of regular cardio in the afternoon, but I do tabata in the morning...gah). Sounds great! I weighed in this morning and it was a loss at least. I lost 0.9lb. It seems that I have a great week and then an okay week. Last week I lost 4.5lbs. Who knows. I'm trying my hardest for next weeks weighin though!!! |
I've got an appointment to learn how to use the strength training equipment at my gym today.
I'm in for the challenge as well, I'm going to try out the elliptical once I'm done with strength for the day |

Wow, I totally busted my butt today!
I really like lifting . . . . but I think it would be hard for me to do if I never got the gym membership. My strength orientation went REALLY well and my trainer wrote out a plan for me to lift at the gym twice a week, and when I'm comfortable to move up to 3 times a week. I'm so happy, I feel like I'm finally doing everything right now. |

i just weighed myself unofficially- and i've gained .4 pounds since saturday or friday. its still a huge loss since last week but i cant stand seeing the number go UP. and i havent even had dinner yet. grrr. so, tired as i am i'm going to the gym. its my first day back in a few weeks so i'm just going to try to do SOMETHING. wish me luck!:carrot: |

shannon- good job walking, every single bit helps. its amazing how much those things add up as for me, i did great food wise. went to the gym, first day back. determined to have a great 'last chance workout'. i wish. but i wont feel bad- it was my first day back in a couple of weeks and even though i wanted to quit at half an hour i pushed through for a full hour. so yay! -65 minutes 550 calories 6.11 miles also- this guy i see at work goes to my gym. i've seen him a couple of times but the last time i went with my sister (she's gorgeous! so, she always stands out) he kept looking at us and i was like eek! dont look, i know him. i didnt want to say hi since we never TALK at work. he's just a runner for one of the dealerships and i never do his work. anyway today he went in to work (i was finally fitting into my size 9's my mom got me for christmas...its been since november that i could!) and he was like 'HI! i havent seen you at the gym- i saw you one day' and all i could stammer was an 'ohhh right, its been a couple of weeks... sorry' i apologized. ugh, how much more dorky could i be?! and of COURSE its the day my sister goes in to work to help so all i heard on the ride home was he liiiikes you. great. now we have to have a custody battle over gym territory |

So I went spinning this morning.. wow so intense...I am exhausted and ready to go to bed! :P I was going to do weights after the spinning class, but I am really sore about yesterdays workout! |
I was just looking at everyone's changes in the weigh-in thread and all of you ladies rock!! I only lost 0.8 pounds this week and I'm not sure why. My calories have been on track (except for one day and I cut the next day to accommodate it) and I worked out 6 times last week. But a loss is a loss, so I'll take it and hope for more next week!
I am home for Spring Break this week and my mom made me homemade mac and cheese last night for dinner; it was amazing! I ate my veggies first but still felt guilty after eating so even though I'd already done a 3-mile run yesterday morning, I went back to the gym and did 45 extra minutes of cardio as penance for my sin. :) I am going to a Mexican restaurant with my sister for lunch but I've already looked up lowfat options online and I will definitely work out today. Keep up the FANTASTIC work, ladies! |

i'm posting my weigh-in right now. i was going to post it yesterday, but since we had until tuesday, i figured why not give myself the one extra day to get rid of the weekend ;) it looks like everyone is doing well! wahoo! |
dc-try not to stress over it to much, if you're on track well- it will come off. sometimes it just likes to hold on for dear life. enjoy the restaraunt, pick something good but definitely dont sacrifice a good time and i agree. a loss is a loss. and believe me on the times we GAIN wouldnt we trade practically anything for 'only' a .8 loss?
kali- spin class kicks my ***! i went a few times and it really helps me feel good and its a definite challenge but my god- after a few times i'd be like when can we stand?! my *** is KILLING me i'm so glad i went to the gym last night. i lost the .4 i had gained and a little more. i do still feel sick and week so i think i'll skip it today- stay on plan food wise and maybe do some crunches while i watch the biggest lose. i'm extremely happy to report my total loss for week one was 8.8 pounds. its definitely the push i need to keep myself motivated. awesome job ladies, i think our team will be a force to be reckoned with |

cassi, that is so cute, you have a crush XD okay, i got family that hasn't seen me below 300lbs in a LONG time coming in this friday. I'm kind of nervous, because we used to see each other all of the time, but since my cousin had her baby we have drifted apart and don't have too much to talk about anymore . . . she is way more outgoing than I've been, but I feel a lot more confident now that I am losing weight and I hope it shines through. |

I walked to Kroger today to buy dinner and I did half the firm. I am liking coming home at 5:00! It gives me more energy. Unfortunately, I barely walk 500 steps at work because when they said sedentary, they mean it! Maybe that is why I have been exercising. I have to move when I get home.
AND I did half the firm today. GO ME. Tomorrow cardio! Yayyayayayayay. I will do this. I will do this. I'm going to lose inches this month. Yes, I will! I found my old weight loss journal. YAY. I am hoping to go to a WW meeting tomorrow. |

I exercised Sunday and Monday for 30 minutes and did some tabata (evil). Today however, I walked into my school and found out that my cooperating teacher was absent which meant I had to teach the class all day long. My kids were horrible and by the end of the day, the only thing I could do was drive home and hit the sack. I woke up a little while ago and I'm about to head back to bed. I barely sat today and I was in constant motion, so I feel I burned the calories I would have burned on my workout. Back to working out tomorrow!! Oh, and a little story. I bought this little easter egg snicker bar (its about 3 inches long) the other day as a snack because I was WAY under my calories and I hadn't had chocolate in about 2 weeks and I'm pms'ing. I totally forgot about it and left it in my car. Well, today, after having a horrible day and just completely stressing, I was looking foward to that little snicker bar. Alas, fate was against me. I got into my car, reached into the bag and pulled out a package of completely liquified snicker. Oh well, it's probably better I didn't eat it anyways. And yes, it's that hot here. I think today ran into the 80s. Summer is gonna suck this year. |

hey Alana!! I just found a goodlife that has spinning in ottawa!!! I have a questions though, and maybe classes in T.dot are different from the ones here but do you know what the difference between RPM classes, All Terrain, Road Drills and Power Play are???? They don't give any of the descriptions on the site :(

Happy Wednesday everyone. I have been sick these last few days bleck! Feeling much better today though... Had a wedding on Sunday in beautiful Morrison, CO. The weather was amazing and the new camera equipment I got performed awesomely! New week and I am ready to get back on track. Weighed myself this weekend and saw 134 on the scale!I am so happy. This is the lowest I have been since recommitting to my weight loss. I would love to be in lower 120's before the Vegas trip. Bikini=Scary lol.
Nothing big planned for today. Working then have to put together an album for a client. Staying OP and will make it to the gym tonight to get a good run in! |
