I am going out of town this weekend, so I am hoping I can stay relatively OP. Luckily the friend I am staying with is a newly found fitness freak (heh) (she wants to be a cop and has lost like 60 lbs in the process) So we are going to the gym tomorrow |
I have a question for everyone. Alright, so I was measuring myself last night and I noticed that so far, I've lost like 5-6 inches off my hips, which thrilled me. However, I've only lost 2-3 inches off my stomach. Now, my hips are only 1 inch bigger than my stomach and my pants...well, they're just not holding up (quite literally).
So, does anyone know any specific exercises that might help fight stomach fat? Maybe I might start looking semi proportional at some point :). |
So sorry to be so MIA ladies... I have been having some serious issues lately. I feel like I have completely fallen off the wagon. I miss running, I miss being in control. I feel like I overeat because I overeat lol. I have been busy but that is NO excuse. I am recommiting today. Taking my measurements at lunch and doing an official weigh in. Going to be mindful of the way I eat before I eat lol. How is everyone else doing?

Things on my end are OK. I haven't been exercising nearly enough but I'm back at the gym tonight again. I went Wednesday, but not for nearly long enough. I did 5 miles on the bike, and I'm trying to train for that Duathlon so it was okay. I was 2 minutes faster than I was the last time I did 5 miles. Tonight I'm going to do some rowing, and maybe some running. I just hate running on the treadmills. Outside is SO much better!!! I've officially signed up for the Duathlon in June on Father's day, and I also signed up to do another 5 km in April. I'd like to start doing a race per month, it helps push me to train too!

I was so excited this afternoon because I tried on a shirt that I haven't work in about 3 years and it fit! My clothes have now begun to be super baggy and I'm having trouble not looking like the bag lady. So, since I was fitting into that shirt, I thought I'd try out Old Navy and see what they have.
Which is absolutely nothing. Nothing fit right and I was so frustrated. So I went to Macy's and they had awesome clothes last time I was there and had no money. Of course, they didn't this time. So, I still look like the bag lady over here. On a good note, I weighed in this morning and so far, 1.1lbs lost. I'm hoping to bring that to about 2.5lbs :) for Monday. |
Cecelee that's awesome!!! You shouldn't feel like a bag lady just because Old Navy sucks at keeping nice clothes or at least keeping more sizes of the nice clothes!! You've lost 27 pounds and that's amazing! I've lost ten and all my clothes still fit the same :(
I know this sounds crazy, but I'm waiting for the day that I can give away my 100$ silver jeans that are a size 34! Ten pounds gone and they still fit?? Ugh! Hope everybody has a good Saturday. I work today then I'm going to dinner with my mother and my bf's mother. That's should be fun. and I'm not being sarcastic. I love her! lol |

I am pretty excited this week because I am well into the 170's, yay! I also won a free month at a women's gym and ended up signing for a whole year because it's awesome! They have great cardio equipment and so many classes that look really fun. In fact, I'm getting ready to go now and do some cardio before I take a BodyFlow class, which is supposed to be yoga/pilates/taichi/strength. Have a great weekend, everyone! |

Ugh I have been sooooo off plan it hurts. It's weird - it's like I WANT to be back OP but I'm stuck in this stupid rut. I don't know what's wrong with me. I have been exercising, so that's the one saving grace, but I know from past failures that I need both the eating and exercising at the same time to see success. Hopefully weigh-in next week won't be too disastrous. And good luck to everyone else! It kind of seems like we're all struggling. :shrug: |
I feel so bad guys . . . I'm up like 4lbs this morning because last night I planned alcohol into my calories but my SIL begged me to split two pounds of fries with her and then I ended up buying and eating 6 cupcakes later that night . . . . I feel so ashamed and am back on the wagon today . . . I can NEVER do something like this again! That was the old me that came out for the first time in a LONG time! I'm hoping most of it is water weight . . .but 6 cup cakes? I dont even know how many calories that is or those fries at the bar :[

Don't west these kind of things ladies, its hard but just remember how good you feel when you turn those foods down, thats what helps me! I have been good as far as food, but the excersise has fallen WAY below what I want to be doing. I have been house hunting lately, and its kinda consumed a lot of my time, excuses excuses but hey, a house is a big deal lol. I am headed out to look at a couple with a real estate agent in a bit here, wish me luck!!!

Yeah . . . I have been slacking on my exercise as well. It seems like when things get more busy in my life I find more excuses to NOT exercise when I surely can find time to do at least 30DS. Oh well, I'm focusing on my eating right now . . .

You know I didn't buy it that if you had a goal you worked harder and lost more, but wow if the numbers don't lie.
181.7 today. How and what am I working to? Joining the army as a publicist specialist. I need to weigh 146, and run two miles under 16 minutes. I've been running a lot these days. Sad to say that my record is one mile in 15 minutes. I've got sooooo far to go! Wish me luck~! |
Umm. I'm freaking out a little. I weighed in early (my official one is tomorrow morning) and somehow, in 2 days, I've gained 5lbs. The best part about this is that I haven't eaten that bad this weekend. I had to splurge a little Saturday because they didn't have anything but chips at the Children's Museum (what CM doesn't have healthy snacks????) and thats the only day I went off plan.
Can it be 5lbs of water weight? I know that I weighed in after one meal, but it was half a bowl of red beans. That was all I had! I know my sodium intake was high this weekend, so I'm loading up on the water. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll have lost most of this. I'm sorry, I'm just soooo aggrevated. |
Hey CeCe, don't stress too much! To gain 5 pounds of fat, you would have had to eat 17,500 extra calories this weekend. Since you know you didn't do that, chalk it up to hormones or sodium, chug that water and just wait it out for a few days! It's frustrating but you'll be fine!

So I had a pretty evil weekend. I ate fries, chicken fingers and lots of booze! :P I am up .4 lbs. I stayed OP all day today (so far) and I plan on going to the gym tomorrow, so I am hoping that I am at least at 0 instead of gaining anything. We will see.
Oh and last week was my TOM, so I wanted to devour anything under the sun hah |

I am down to 168! So that means the scale moved wewt wewt! I think last weeks weight gain was due to water retention! Lets hope the scale goes down a bit faster! =] |

Just wanted to say hi, ladies! This week has been just okay for me so I'm not sure what to expect weigh-in time. I have been working out a lot and staying around 1500 cals but not eating the healthiest foods 100% of the time. I had a 3 pound loss last week, though, so as long as I maintain that, it'll be okay.

dcslm - I think that you wil be find as long as you stayed within your calories.
I am 16lbs away from my first big goal of hitting 235lbs by may. I've been losing about 15lbs a month, so it should be right on target! I've really got to start exercising again! I only did 30DS two times last week and ONE time this week . . . Starting April 1rst I am recommitting to exercise, starting slow with 20mins a day. |
I had an awful night last night. I drank beer and ate ketchup chips and this morning I'm 194. It's weird though, because I feel smaller????
Anyways, I'm feeling pretty crappy because I've committed to this Duathlon and I really want to do it but I'm not finding the motivation to run. The biking is no problem. I was at the gym on Thursday morning and I ran on the treadmill but only for 10 minutes before I got bored. I don't know what to do or what to get myself going???? I need help, and I've thought about joining groups, but that's just one more place I have to go after work or whatever. I want to be able to come home some nights and not have any commitments. Just like last night, I did that, but because of my mood it was disastrous. Any helpful motivation tricks? I know people ask for these at least three times a day on all of the threads here, but any help is appreciated. I feel hopeless today. It's the worst feeling when you're usually the one giving advice. I'm also kinda sad that I set really high expectations for myself like my 50 pounds in 5 months and looking at how fast time is flying I again... feel hopeless. I'm also feeling that I'm putting too much effort into my work and not enough into myself and making time for the things that -I- want to do. In conclusion, life is hard... |

Wow I did 25min. of cardio for the first time in two weeks . . . I felt like I was going to die . . . I guess I am back where I first started working out! Only losing 1lb last week was the wake-up call I needed :dizzy:

I don't know what's going on with me. It's like I care on the inside, but I can't get my actions to line up with my plan and then everything just... crumbles. I haven't been to the gym since last Tuesday (like almost 2 weeks), granted I was out of town for a couple of days but still. I've been drunk, like absolutely drunk, almost every day since then. And of course, the eating has been completely off plan. And it depresses me, but not enough to change. Like right now - I'm waiting for my roommate to get out of bed so we can go out to breakfast when I can have a nice bowl of oatmeal here. Why? Argh. I don't know. I need a good kick in the pants to get up and running again.
It's like I lost one pants size, people started telling me I looked good, and that was enough for me. it's NOT enough for me. I know that. :mad: how is everyone else doing? It kind of seems like some others are losing steam? or at least not posting as much... |
macky - Maybe starting small, like in the very beginning, will get you going again. Well, it helped me by doing that. 4th day back OP after a two week sit out, so it is going well so far.

Macky, I think we all have times like that. But I agree with Heather, start making small healthy changes again and the rest will follow naturally!
Way to get back on track, Heather! And Kirsten, that is an AWESOME loss for one week, keep doing whatever it is you've been doing! I'm down 1.2 so far this week but waiting until Tuesday to post officially. Where has everyone gone? Shannon, Meredith, Stephanie, Alana, Lora, Cass?? We miss you ladies! |

Heather, 20 pounds would be awesome!!! Good luck! I am going to try really hard to lose 2 more pounds to hit 10 total and make my Easter mini-goal. Although, I ate too much for dinner so that wasn't a good start. Better go work it off!
