169.. party party party! I am OUT of those 170's!

Oh and I have some interesting info for 170-ish people as far as calories go but I have to go study so I'll share it later! Even though this thread is dying.

This thread ain't dying... it's just shrinking... in waistlines... We'll have to start a 160's thread soon! Or already!!!

You rock Kelli! KEEP IT UP!

Does anyone have advice for someone who is not a very good runner, but who wants to run because she feels the need to run, but it's 25 degrees outside and more like 14 degrees after the windchill? And that's in farenheit I mean, it is a tid bit nipply out there. What can I do? I just want to RUN for some reason, but I have such a hard time breathing out there in the bitter cold. (Can't afford the gym, too, bummer eh?)

Hey Carcar- Running is great. I would suggest a treadmill indoors if you own one or have a gym membership. If not, invest in some winter running gear and trust me, after 5 minutes you will be all warmed up. I am actually trying (operative word trying) to run a 10 miler in May. Hey maybe we could keep each other on track.

My community center has a walking/jogging track. Maybe you can check that out? I believe that if you ONLY want the track, and not the entire gym, its like 10 dollars a month, obviously varies, and you can use the track as much as you want during business hours. Other than that, you may look into high schools or colleges possibly in your area that have an indoor facility open to the public during certain times. Most do.

No prob.. and I promised you other 170 girls some nice info I got yesterday. I already posted on another thread but I think it will be best used here. I talked with a nutritionist casually at work last night and she told me that at 170 with an active lifestyle I should be consuming 305 carbs, 102g protein, and 45 g of fat daily. If I focus on these things you are sure to be eating the right types of foods. If you eat these your calories will fall into the relative range. This of course could be too much for some people, considering its a program that calculates numbers and I've noticed some of those are pretty high. (like fitday, etc) She told me to keep the ratios the same if I want to cut back, like as long as I'm eating 3 times as many carbs than protein, and approx half as much fat as protein, I should be good to go! Hope this helps someone.

When we all get to 160 I'll track her down and get some new numbers!

Edit: I forgot to mention these numbers are based off of losing 2 lbs per week average.

Hey Kelli- those are close to the same numbers sparkpeople.com suggests too, and it keeps track of all those things for you, you just put in the foods you ate and voila. I started using it this week and it HAS helped a lot- I am a carb whorder, and I need to eat fewer carbs, more proteins, and sparkpeople.com has really helped me to keep that intake in check. love it.

Thats funny because sparkpeople is the only site I have NOT tried before. I've used dailyplate, fitday, a yahoo fitness chart and something else a long time ago and they were all way off. So it's just my luck that the one site I never tried is right on! I tried using dailyplate but I'm so used to counting calories on my own that I think it takes FOREVER. I need some discipline. Once I get moved and before my job starts I'm going to become a sparkpeople-a-holic!

I'm 167 today? No way did I lose 2 lbs in 1 day. First of I hardly EVER weigh myself if its not a weigh in day, I don't want to be someone who frets about the scale on a daily basis. I was just so excited to be 169 that I had to make sure I still was, but I wasn't.. 167? We'll see if it still says that tomorrow..

ooooh, I love it when that happens. You deserve it after staying at 170 for so long. Hey, one more lbs and you get to add another dancing...thing...what the **** is that thing anyways?

I think I won't be able to add another one for a few days. I went to this hometown pizza place for lunch with the bf. I had a huge salad but I still managed to eat two peices of pizza and a cookie. DANGIT. I haven't really ate much since though because I've been soooo full. I don't know what my dancing thing is, I'm going with a michelin (sp?) man-ghost thing. Or a marshmallow man? Frosty the snow man! With legs.

Whatever it is I laugh everytime I see it. Pudgy little dancing thingy.

I had to change my goal. I felt that it was unrealistic at this point to try and lose 14 pounds by Christmas. So I opted to try for a 4 pound weight loss instead.
Today is day 8 of my special K challenge and I have went down one pant size YAY!!!! and lost 5 pounds, since Thanksgiving. I have been doing 30DS every day for the past 7 days as well.

Keep up the hard work ladies!!!

Hey girls! I'd love to jump in! I think I'm a couple pounds behind you guys, I weighed in at 176 this morning. But I can't wait to get rid of those six pounds! 160s, please!

Congrats to all of you who have made it out of the 170s!
