hi everyone! happy friday i had another good workout last night, followed by dinner with THE cutest guy who is on my project team (he would be perfect if only i didn't work with him!) i had just finished a run and some weights and could have totally downed a bunch of carbs and protein.. but instead had a red pepper soup which was delic and caprese salad..yum! this morning i treated myself and had a latte and some reduced fat coffee cake...i'll let that be my treat of the weeekend im going to have to keep practicing this self control as i am going to austin to visit a friend this weekend...i will try to keep all the excess calories to alcohol consumption only!!

dollypie - that fish sounds so good!!! i will definitely have to try that next time..do you usually just ask for a piece of grilled fish with salsa on the side? i also agree that short, intense workouts are good..i definitely need to work more of those in. i've gotten in the habit of always running about 5 miles on the treadmill followed by some weights..but i could definitely improve my fitness by substituting some of those long runs with interval sprints! maybe you can be my inspiration

june - every time i see the news it seems there's another blizzard in colorado! stay warm chickie!!

Hey ladies-

I'm kind of down right now. I went to the gym Wednesday and felt all wonderful. Now I just cant get motivated. I know its silly. I did walk yesterday but I needed to hit the gym as well.
And my eating is all blown to **** by the holidays. I had gotten to the point where I wasn't overeating and didnt think about food all the time. Well thats back and it sucks. I think I am going to spend my weekend charting out all my eating for next week to help get me back in the habit again. Any other suggestions to get me back on track??

Wow, slimming I feel EXACTLY the same way. I had gotten in such a groove before the holidays..choosing the right foods, not overeating..then right after Thanksgiving I fell back into my old habits..eating too much sugar, eating a lot of food, etc. In the past, I have gotten out of a funk like that by really focusing on working out and getting in some really good exercise..long runs, bike rides, whatever you like to do! Just FORCE yourself to go for 5 or 6 days...it will make a difference! I also find it really renewing to clean out my kitchen...get rid of anything not good for you and only leave fruits, veggies, and whole grains. I took some stuff like boxes of chocolate and chips that I had around the house down to the food closet..definitely going to people who need it more than me!

Day 5...Really really wanted to drink a nice fatty regular rootbeer last night. But continue on with not drinking my calories and passing on desserts I shall... Snowing here again as it looks like Jen has informed you. Work luncheon has been bumped to next week and hopefully should be out of here by 3. Hubby has to work this evening so should be no sweat at all to fit in my run. I am feeling that sweet soreness from my strength training workout yesterday at lunch, don't you love how that keeps you pumped to keep up the trend?

michelle - A fajita salad would work. It would be like the burrito bowl I get at Chipotle. Yay on the great workout and being oh so good at Dinner w/ The perfect man

jen - I hear you, I am soooo sick of the snow. I had to ride the light rail to work and then hoof it from the stop and I like biffed it trying to push the walk button. My DH's Dad fell on the ice and broke his ankle and his leg and then on the way to the hospital hey got in a car wreck in the Springs.

dolly - Long lunches and early to go h ome, that sounds like my kind of job lol!

slimming - When I feel unmotivated I go check out the January challenge thread and see what the other chickies have logged. Always inspires me.

tgif, I think. I'm a little nervous about this weekend and staying on plan, but this week hasn't exactly been right on schedule, and I've been ok. Must..stop..worrying. I did the first work out in the C25K last night. It was fun! I was surprised how much it kept me from getting bored. Tonight I`m going to do 45minutes of cardio and some kind of strength training. Getting over that initial day of legs is a killer, but afterwards I don't feel so bad. I`m trying to enjoy these last few days of freedom.
This coming semester I'll work 6-8 in the mornings, go to class from 8-5, and then go back to work from 5-until everything is finished. Whew. I'm tired just thinking about it. I hope that being on the same tight schedule everyday will actually HELP.

Jen-
Thanks! I found that picture on my mom's camera and I was surprised at myself. Its from the first 5k I ran which was last year. I'm hoping it will motivate me to get back to that place. And yes, those pesky new years resolutions people. The gym here is full in january and then picks back up again at the end of March. The spring break crowd.

Michelle- Yummm. I love red pepper soup. I wish I knew how to make it. Have fun this weekend!

Slimming- I know how ya feel. When I feel really unmotivated I like to read the success forums here, and also read from motivational books. It helps that I have all those bob greene ones, but I'm sure there are lots of websites out there too. Just keep looking until something clicks. And if that doesn't work, put on your gym clothes and just go slowly to the gym. Even if you don't get in a "Great" work out, sometimes just going can help refresh your mind and body about the routine.

Stephie- Have you noticed that drinking less sugary drinks helps control your appetite? I've never been a huge soft drink or juice person, but when I drink some at work I notice within an hour or so that I have uncharacteristic cravings.

Good Morning ladies and Happy Saturday.

I am trying really hard to stay away from soda which is really hard for me. Yesterday I gave in and had a Pepsi. I'm not beating myself though, just saying. I love me some soda so I have to have some alternatives set up so that I can stick with it. I think I am going to keep seltzer in the house, one bottle at a time. That way if I have an itch I can have seltzer with a squeeze of lemon and outwit the craving by avoiding all that extra sugar.

I have the same problem, teahoney. I love soda. Though, my new years resolution in 2003 I kept which was switching to diet drinks, and when I even take a sip of regular soda now it tastes awful. I have been drinking a lot of water lately, but yesterday I had two sodas. Diet Pepsi, and Diet DR pepper.

I also had some left over Chinese late at night, which was bad, I know. But, it was tofu and veggies... Not beating myself up over that though. I am going to take the dog for a walk today after I take my granny to the store. The weather is crazy right now. Jan 6th & it's over 67 degrees outside!

Had had some setbacks. Must persevere. Hubby is working tonight so I will put some face time in at the gym. Gotta get my run in and then maybe do a video at home. Hope everyone is being good

Tea Honey - I drink coke zero, sierra mist free and a&w diet cream soda. They taste so much like regular my hubby cannot tell they are diet and that is saying something.

muzik - Wish it was that nice hear. We had a 12 car pile up due to the ice. We have had 2 blizzards over the last 2 weeks and today we had an avalanche!
