Oh my gosh! This is insane! It's the 2nd of January and I went for a walk today, without a jacket, in short sleeves, because it is THAT warm out...in ONTARIO!!!! There's no snow here, and get this.... there are GREEN buds on the trees and bushes!!!! How insane is that?!?!?!?!? Anyway, I had a lovely walk today! Anyway, must scoot, will reply to everyone later! Have a great day girlies!
Amanda: LUCKY YOU!! We just got our first bit of snow this past weekend though and I live in Kansas.. we just got about 1/4 of an inch and it's already melted..unlike the other side of the state.....
Lizzie:Welcome back!! Good to know you're doing well. Great job on cutting out the alcohol!
Ok, my legs are killing me today from the workout i did yesterday.. HOLY MOLY it hurts to walk down stairs! Guess it's been entirely tooooo long since I had done anything you could call a meaningful exercise. Looking forward to doing something tonight.
Hi ladies. I'm trying to get into my groove of posting here regularly again. After spending months away from the site, I'm finding it hard to find a place for me.
I am so ready to lose weight this year. I'm about to be 28 years old and the thought of entering the next decade of my life 100+ pounds heavier than the last is just too much for me. Plus, I am going on a cruise at the end of November and if I get on that cruise the same weight I am now, I'm going to be so pissed.
My goal for this month is to lose 15 pounds. I'm not sure how much I weigh (I haven't weighed myself in weeks) but I'm hoping it will get me under 300. I envy you smaller girls. I totally understand if you want to lose but I wish I could be y'all weights. When I was 205, I was fine. So that's my first big goal. I hope to be at that weight by the end of the year.
You can do it Tracey!! We all started overweight at one point .. that's why we're here.. Stick to your plan and you'll find the weight will be coming off in no time.
Well, the first and formost exciting news... I REACHED THE HALFWAY POINT! Don't ask me how the heck I pulled that off over the holiday season, I'm personally chalking it up to divine intervention and running with my 40 lbs lost. And I have pictures. And Im excited as all heck.
My New Years consisted of me going over a friend's and getting drunk. Very, very drunk. Couldn't find my way out of a paper bag drunk. Not fun. Plus, I had to open at work the day after, and woke up about a half hour after I was supposed to be there... on the bright side, however, I had no hangover, figure that one out! Must remember that weight loss = less alcohol required.
Stephie - lol the wager sounds like fun! Not to mention a good form of motivation...
Amanda - 2 pieces of veggie pizza doesn't sound too bad.. besides, it was a holiday. Enjoy, then get back on track... that's my motto for it. And I can imagine what you mean.. I moved from PA to VA Beach, and let me tell you, I am not used to it being so warm in January, it's nuts!
mimik - I want to try one of those pizzas! One day, when DB was ordering pizza I asked him to order me one... and the Pizza Hut by my apartment does not have them! I was so mad, grr.... One day, however, I will try them.
muzik - That's the way to do it! I remember the day I came back from PA was my worst eating day of the holidays I think.. lunch at Old Country Buffet with my mother where I ate till I was quite full, then an 8 hour car ride with a stop at McDonalds in between, where I had a grilled chicken sandwich and fries! I figured I could either get ticked at myself, or forgive myself and move on... guess which one I chose. . Don't worry, this is going to be a great year for all of us for losing!
thintowin - ooo. snow. Sounds like your day was great!
Lizzie - Stop leaving me! =/ Welcome back... glad to hear things are going better!
Tracey - *hugs* Welcome! From personal experience I know that comming here is one of the best tools for weight loss I know... and we're glad to have ya! And Oooo cruise. Seems like everyone is going on a cruise.. who wants to take me with them??
Fae: You get the happy dance for reaching your half way point! I am so pround of you!
Tracy: Welcome! This is a great forum w/ great support...keep posting!
So back to my normal routine today! I didn't gain any over the holidays, that is a big accomplishment for me. I usually gain anywhere from 10 to 15 pounds. I just ate in moderation even the sweets and kept up with my workouts.
Junebug: I am with you on missing working out. I went four days because was at the inlaws and I was about to go nuts. I had so much energy, but couldn't exercise. I couldn't even go outside for a walk/run because it rained the whole time.
Amby- I'm not even sure if I should post it as it is the anti-diet drink. It's called a dreamscicle and it has amaretto, OJ, triple sec and half and half ()! I'm not much of a martini person so it shouldn't become too much of a habit
Steph- the registration fee is only $20? I think I'm in! It's so close ot my apt. I have no excuse this time.
TTlina- I love love love that avatar!
Teahoney! You are back and you brought the smile! Good to see you around again and I see you have started blogging- good stuff. What plan are you doing?
dollypie- people don't realize what a true accomplishment it is to not gain weight over the holidays, especially if you can't work out. Way to go!
Hey Lizzie! Good to see ya around again!
I was having such a bad morning (train was late, can't find a cup of coffee to save my life, pissy parents, blah blah blah), but coming on here has totally cheered me up! I'm back to my way of eating and my body is thanking me. The only holiday remnants is all the left over turkey (mmmmmm, sandwiches). Hope you all have a lovely hump day!
I've been away too long!! I missed you guys! Its been months since I've posted!
I started the weight challenge thing at work this fall and got so busy I just didnt post. But I'm back for the new year! The challenge is over and now I find myself back here cause I miss you guys support and love.
I gained 5 pounds over the holiday. DH and I were gone for almost a week and a half and when I get away from home and my routine for that long I have a hard time keeping with my diet and exercise. Anyways! Its great to see all you lovely ladies again!
Haha, is everyone back?! Yay!
I'm here too I am trying to post more regularly, but it's hard with my work schedule so..I will just do my best I have made a couple of resolutions for 2007, including losing these "last 10 pounds" (which is now more like 15, but oh well!) for the weddings i will be in during august and march '08. if i have to be the bridesmaid, i better be looking good! really it's not so much getting on a diet or anything, but just eating better foods and not binge eating, which i tend to do A LOT. i am trying to remember to take it one day at a time..i got through yesterday eating all healthy food except for some ice cream after dinner and didn't stuff myself or feel yucky...it was great! i even passed up dinner with my team to go to yoga just one day at a time and i'll get there...
stephie - i am SO jealous of your tan!!
teahoney - it's good to see you back! remember to just take it one step at a time..have you tried losing in ten pound increments, and then rewarding youself after you have lost those pounds? that might make losing weight seem like smaller of an endeavor
Amanda- I'm enjoying some tshirt weather here myself.. but I guess thats to be expected in south carolina. Not so much in canada! Maybe it will trick my body into thinking it is closer to swim suit season.
Amb- Thanks!! So far so good.. Ok, so it is only a few days into the new year but I'm not missing it at all. Going out is going to be hard, but I guess I'll just be the DD of 2007. And yes I understand that leg pain. I did squats and lunges last week.. the first time in a loooong time. And it hurt so bad I felt like I was 80 years old having to slooowly bend down to even sit.
Tracey- Welcome!! oOOoH.. I'm so jealous of all you ladies going on cruises!! Great motivation. I was at a party last week with a bunch of girls complaining about weighing 175.. I WISH I weighed even 200, much less 175. So, I understand. I guess in the end we're all wishing for kind of the same thing.
Fae- I know I know!! I've been a bad 3fchick lately! Thanks for you myspace note And CONGRATULATIONS on the halfway point!!! You and I will both need to cut back on the alcohol in 2007 to not only meet our weight loss goals but you know, to be LESS intoxicated. However, I'll be posting some nye pictures on my myspace soon full of intoxication if you're interested in seeing my last night of drunkeness for a while.
Dollypie- Woohooo for not gaining any over the holidays!
Junebug- I'm back to feeling better too.. Its a wonder what a few days of good-girl routine can do for you.
Slimming- Welcome back!! I was gone for a while myself but we're both gonna get back into the habit of hanging around.
Oh goodness.. I have a lot of new years resolutions. They've been in the works for a while now, but nows as good a time as any to try to implement them. I think they all really fall under the heading of becoming more independent and taking care of myself. I think for the past few months while I was hiding in bed (And the drive-thru) it was just a way to avoid "Self-care." (I feel silly using that, but thats what my therapist calls it sooo..) Oh and resolution #42343.. stop talking to ex boyfriends.
So, not only am I eating well and exercising but I'm also trying to get everything else in line...
Oh, and I picked up Bob Greene's new book.. I love him. Everything he says makes sense to me. I'm such a groupie. I've started adding strength training back into my work outs. I had forgotten how much I love that too.
Even though I'm pretty much broke I need to hit up the grocery store tonight before the gym or else I'm going to be living on whole grain rice and condiments for the next few days..
I took the first step and got on the scale. I haven't weighed myself in ages. I'm 309 which is okay with me considering I was expecting to see a higher number. I'm really going to make an effort to only weigh myself once a week because I have a tendency to become scale obsessed when I'm trying to lose.
I've made my goal for the year to lose 104 pounds. Kind of off number, I know, but I picked it because after I had my daughter I was 205. And I felt so sexy, even with my saggy tummy. It was the smallest I had been in years and I felt good. I could wear a shirt tucked in! I have this shirt that I bought at that weight and I can't wait to be able to wear it again.
i have been lurking for a while without much to say. Christmas and New Year went so fast and we had all sorts of things to keep us on our toes. I have a few personal things that are taking priority at the moment, but am determined to lose this weight in 2007. i have put on a ridiculous amount of weight over the past month and have gained somewhere around 3kg.
just wanted to let you know i am watching you all
my wisdom teeth are coming through and i am in some serious pain at the moment. unfortunately they started hurting the weekend before new years so i just had to bear it with lots of pain killers. i saw the dentist yesterday and need to get them extracted. ouch!
stephie - i like your new avatar too! very cute.
lizzie - that picture on your blog is a scream! it is very theraputic sharing your thoughts with the cyber world. you will love it.
fae - congratulations on your mile stone! i am so proud of you
tracey - i totally remember you! 104 is a good goal for the year. you can totally do it - we can do it together! having that visual of when you were 205 is a great motivator. you know you have been there before so it is achievable.
Tonight is the first night of the hubby having his new job. Means I have the whole night to myself from now on. Whatever shall I do? Well for starters I am going to go change into my workout gear and get my butt over to the apt. gym and do some running. Gotta be able to keep up with you in May Jen!
