Jeans
I put my jeans on yesterday and they were so tight it was painful. Just 6 months ago they fit. I think I should wear them to punish myself and help me to remember to stay on plan. I am on the way down, so I am on the right track. I weigh every day but I look at my numbers on Friday but I think I should change that to Monday because the weekends are killers and throw me off then I work the whole next week to get back down again. I just want to be more than the fat girl. I don't have to be a model but being comfortable in my skin would be nice. Lsfunky

Can't wait to hear some of the details of your trip once you've had a chance to catch your breath. Welcome back! Not much new here. The scale is still being pissy but I'm still OP. Eventually it'll move again. I finally bought some new pants yesterday. Went from an 18W trouser leg (WIDDEEEE) to a 16 straight leg :) I guess I should stop *****ing, something's working but it it sure is slow progress. |
I"m down 10 lbs from my regain! woooo!

We did lots of touristy stuff this time, since my friends haven't been to the city much (one of them had never been, and the other has only been once like 13 years ago) which isn't my usual style. But it was kind of fun, playing tour guide. We met up with some friends that live in The Bronx for delicious Indian food and I ordered the Tandoori Chicken even though I wanted something with ultra-fattening sauce, but my dinner was delicious so I wasn't sorry. I drank wine every day, and had chocolate pizza (!) for lunch on Saturday at Max Brenner, so I really didn't watch my diet much. The walking seemed to offset the damage for the most part, though, so I'm not sorry about that either. On Sunday we went to brunch at a drag theater, which was really fun. I had steak and eggs for brunch, so that was a decent choice, but between three of us we killed four pitchers of mimosas, so. I am not usually THAT big a drinker, I swear! Then on Sunday night we saw Priscilla Queen of the Desert on Broadway, which was fantastic. Aside from that we walked up 5th Ave to Central Park, did a lot of window shopping and some people-watching. The weather was beautiful all weekend so we really got lucky. I can't wait to go back. I am attaching a couple pictures of me, one at Central Park and one in front of one of the lions at the public library. It's not my favorite picture, but it's a good reminder that even though I *feel* the same as I did at 150, I've regained a lot of weight. Nowhere to go but down, right? |
CAROLINE ~ welcome back ... and hey -- I really like that picture in front of the lion; please keep it! That is so great that you were able to enjoy yourself to the fullest, did all that walking, and only up 1 lb! That's Awesome really! And, it sure sounds like you and your GF's had a nice time too; and that's what matters most!
LOTTIE ~ :congrat: that's wonderful news; down 10 big ones forever! You're doing great!!! :welcome: LSFUNKY ~ glad you joined us over here. Hope the weigh-in day change helps you some. SUE ~ that's a great NSV ... down a whole size in pants; you must be thrilled. See, your hard work is paying off, for sure. Every bit counts. You know that means that you are slimmer, when you go down sizes. :D See my response to DIANE, below ... DIANE ~ thanks, we hope that the meds haven't caused him any permanent damage, esp since his blood pressure was low too; he always had such good numbers before. So we are praying that everything will be OK ... the Doc said that they want to do some kind of heart test, then one on his brain waves after that. This is exactly why I don't like taking these experimental drugs that they push on people. We got lots done today; finally put up that last big aluminum blind. While all the others went smoothly this one gave us trouble; got it right on the third try. :dizzy: Sure tests your patience and resolve though; just glad they are done. By the time we moved the curtain rod, and put everything back, it was after 3 pm. Looking up that much tends to put a kink in your neck and back. So I will be resting up tomorrow for sure. We had some :sunny: all day, although it is still a bit cool. The :rain: has helped a lot; the flowers, trees, and bushes are now budding nicely. We have a long weekend coming up here in Canada. Hope you all have a fantastic Friday tomorrow ... :flow2: |
NY awesome!!!!
Thistoo you look happy and cute. I would love to go to NY with you. It sounds so fun to have you as a tour guide. You are doing great with the walking and eating, it will be easy to get back on plan. Thanks for the travelogue. Lsfunky

Rosebud, that picture is my computer desktop background at the moment. It's not that I hate it so much (at least I look happy for once!) just that it's a reminder that I can do better at meeting my goals.
Lsfunky, thanks! I do love planning vacations. Too bad the internet has made travel agents all but extinct! I would have excelled at that job 20 years ago before they were replaced by Expedia and Google Maps. This morning I'm down .4 to 194.4. I think TOM has finally started (two days late, which is what I get for traveling and eating off plan) so the fact that my weight's gone down is kind of a miracle. I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, though, so I'll take it. This baby shower I'm throwing is making me crazy and I have a feeling it might not happen anyway. The baby was born while I was out of town, five weeks early, but all my efforts to get her to postpone so far have failed. New mothers! I just hope if she cancels she does it before I make all the food. Then again, I bought it already, so it doesn't really matter at this point. So that's my weekend. Kind of stressful! Today I'll be making cupcakes and not taste-testing them. Have a great Friday, everyone! |
Good morning everyone!
Lsfunky, I'm with you on the NY envy. Caroline, when the last one of the crew meets goal, will you plan a NY trip where we all meet up and have ourselves a blast? Caroline, LOVE the pictures! What a great idea putting one on your desktop for motivation. I feel bad reading your shower story. I went into labor when I was supposed to be at my shower for D now21 and my best friend was left with a house full of people, tons of food, and no mom to be! Rosebud, I hope you get some good new soon on those tests. It's hard not having answers... Prayers continue. The scale moved a little, but I'm sticking with my 2 day rule. If I don't see the same weight 2 days in a row I don't count it. Hopefully I'll have good news to report tomorrow. We're supposed to have beautiful weather this weekend so I'm planting annuals and filling all my window boxes and trying to get the yard ready for D17's graduation bash in a couple of weeks. I'm dreading the bark mulch delivery - last year I could barely walk once I finished spreading it all. Tonight kicks off our town's American Cancer Society Relay for Life event and I offered to feed D17's team so I'm cooking tonight for a midnight snack. D17 hasn't been much help with ideas so I think they're getting crock pots of pulled pork and meatballs with rolls and chips and things. I'm praying she doesn't come up with some great ideas AFTER my trip to the grocery store! Today is her last day of high school so to say she's not very focused is a vast understatement! I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday! |
Scale
I love that you have decimals on your scales. I wonder if it would help me, mine goes to half a pound I like the idea of getting the same weight two days in a row before I count it as a lose. I am at the same for the third day. I was so careful this week then I had my husband bring home sandwiches from Costco and did not check the calories before eating, then found out after it was 720 calories and I could have eaten half and been okay I will just have to exercise more today to make up for yesterday. I was just over 1500 calories and I have been shooting for 1200.
Does anyone know what cycling calories or days is? Is it like more calories one day then less the next? Lsfunky |

SUE ~ thanks for the prayers about DH's issue; not sure when those tests will be though -- haven't heard anything yet. They don't rush here.
WE had :rain: overnight; but it stopped today -- kinda cold and dreary out there today, so just took it easy and rested inside today. Tonight, gonna read and relax. Lots of folks gone to their cottages & camps this weekend, but not sure the weather will hold out for them. The forecast has been changing hour by hour. I hope at least one day is nice though. Hope you all have a good, OP weekend ... :flow2: |
UGH. I am back, but have not gotten up the courage to get on the scale.
Had some big life stuff come up and I REALLY got off track the last month and a half. I have to work tomorrow, and plan to eat on plan all day, but first thing Sunday I'm back on the scale and committed to losing again. Wish me luck.... Cheering you all on! |
Welcome back, HEATHER ~ just keep chipping away at it. Life happens: stress comes & goes, but just keep plugging along. "Practice makes perfect" -- meaning, there will be less mistakes, and more victories as time goes by ...

Two oh one! :cheer: I might actually hit my goal of onederland this week! It's very exciting, though on the downside I can't seem to find pants that fit properly. Looks like I'll be wearing some of the back 'o the closet skirts for a little while.
Yard work today, and hopefully some time to kayak this afternoon. Have a great day everyone! |
No self control
I am such a mess. I ate everything yesterday. What is wrong with me. I have no self control. Especially on the weekend. Then I work the whole week to get off the two pounds I gain. Hmmpf. Oh well I have to let it go and move on. Lsfunky
