Caroline I wouldn't have thought you were a stalker, LOL. I was just dipping little BABY toes into the water. I was SO happy that I saw you were here and working it in my absence! An absolute inspiration.

Thanks everybody for the welcomes! I feel at least a little bit in the groove right now.... tracking calories and checking in....so far so good.

Happy Hump Day!

Another crazy busy day here - I keep forgetting to eat when it's this busy so I'm just having my lunch now. Last night I had so many calories to spend at dinnertime I ate (baked) french fries with cheese and bacon on top! My taste buds were pleased, my tummy was not. We're having a late dinner tonight so a late lunch is probably a good thing for me.

Still hoping for some movement on the scale but clearly something is working. D21 got home from school last night and announced I WILL be shopping for new pants this weekend.

I hope all is good with everyone, it's eerily quiet here.

SUE ~ I've had many of those days too; I think we all can relate. If my lunch is late, I just push my dinner later too. PLus, if I have a big lunch, I have a smaller dinner, and visa-versa; it all works out in the end.

Well, we've had glorious :sunny: here all day and they are predicting it will last through to the weekend. The guys made good headway on the deck today; the main deck/floor is now done. Just the ramp floor and the slats to do tomorrow. They were only working on it 4-5 hours each day, so they have done well, I think.

Have a terrific Thursday, everyone ... :flow2:

Hello everyone,

I'm home sick from work today; I've been feeling queasy since Monday and have had sleeping problems. It got better last night, but for safety's sake I'm keeping a bucket close to me today!

Yesterday for the first time in what seemed like forever I actually kept track of what I was eating, calorie-wise. Until I got home and had dinner, that is (not sure why). Baby steps, right? Hmpf.

Anyhows, I hope you're all keeping well.

Justwant2bhealthy - today we're predicted THUNDERSTORMS :carrot: I like me some good thunderstorms :D

mahtha - ooooh, changing body shape getting noticed by other people is always a lovely nsv  Congrats!

ubergirl - HALLO YOU ARE MY IDOL thank you for starting the RegainersRelosers movement  If that thread hadn't been there then I'm fairly sure I'd have hidden here under a new account all ashamed of myself.

pattygirl - welcome to the thread (I'm late, sorry!). Hope you'll post often - at least then I might have a fighting chance of keeping myself accountable here too :dizzy:

thistoo - have a fab ti- oh wait, you're already on holiday. Nvm then ;)

Good morning, everyone

It would have been a lovely sentiment if not delivered with an eye roll, a shake of the head, and mumbling that sounded suspiciously like "clown pants". Oh the joys of late teen and 20-something daughters!

Rosebud, I made up for not eating last night! By dinnertime (8:30) I was starving so I had dinner and dessert! D21 found a recipe for Chobani-based mini lemon cheesecakes. At 100 calories each they were fantastic! She made a double batch so we froze half to avoid temptation.

It's STILL raining here, but the forecast is for mid-70s and sunshine this weekend. I can't wait to feel sunshine on my face again!!!!!! We have a family cookout planned Sunday to celebrate Mom, it will be nice to actually eat outside.

The scale moved a little. Hoping to see that 25 pound/10% of my original weight/Onederland marker by Memorial Day.

pattygirl63 05-10-2012 10:31 AM

It is a beautiful day here today and nice and cool. We got the ac fixed yesterday so that is good.

I did good with my eating yesterday probably because I took medication because my hip was hurting so bad and went to lie down around 6 and didn't wake up until 10:30. I got up found out DSIL is off today then changed clothes and went back to bed and didn't get up today until almost 8am. Now DD is home as well so I don't have to babysit. I think my hip feels better as I walk so I'm thinking about going to Aldi's this morning and get some fruit they have the best canteloupe, grapefruit and strawberries and it isn't all that expensive. And then may go by Sav-A-Lot to get some fresh veggies and eggs at a better price even than Walmart. Hopefully that way I can walk out the soreness in the hip and see if walking really helps.

Salsa - Sure hope you get to feeling better really soon.

Rosebud and Mahtha and everyone else Hi:wave:

Have a good day.

Hi everyone. I've been quiet lately. I don't have much that's good to report. I AM A WORK IN PROGRESS. Things have been really busy, and that should be no excuse, but that's what is going on with me.

I hope everyone is having a good week!

texscrapper 05-10-2012 01:47 PM

Hi everyone! I have missed the boards! I went to the doctor on Monday and my foot definately has a fracture, but he has ordered a CAT Scan as well. It seems that I have some unusual dome on the side of my foot where the fracture is :dizzy: So I'm still in pain, and waiting for a CS to be schedules.

Hope all of you are doing well - I had to postposne the C25K with my son until the foot issues are under control. Maybe we can do some core exercises without me aggravating things too much!

ubergirl 05-10-2012 05:14 PM

I had a tooth extracted yesterday (UGH) Not too bad but almost fasted yesterday because all I could manage, not very well, was a sugar free jello.

Today, by lunchtime I thought I was going to pass out. The good news...? A three pound whoosh followed by another pound down from the no food day...

I LOVE how fast the early pounds come off....

Trying NOT to do that this time.

Diane we are all works in progress... !

Salsa, so sorry you are sick!

Justwant2Bhealthy 05-10-2012 07:22 PM

UBERGIRL ~ our dietician says that when you are fasting (for whatever reason) you should have regular jello + soup broth so that your electrolites don't get too low. Your body needs the sugar & protein from the jello and the salt in the broth (I like the chicken best). So, if that every happens again, you'll know what to do. I love soup when I can't eat solids and jello is sooo filling.

TEXASCRAPPER ~ praying that foot heals up well for you; and they get it all sorted out -- not fun (been there).

SUE ~ those lemon chz cakes sound marvellous -- feel like sharing the recipe? What is chobani?

TRISH ~ praying that your hip feels better soon too.

DIANE ~ I agree, we are all "works in progress" ...

SALSA ~ well, I'm glad you don't mind the thunderstorms; actually I don't mind them either as long as they don't last too, too long ... ;)

HEY, MANDY GIRL ~ where are ya? We miss having your cheery self around this thread lately; hope all is well with you and yours ... :)

We had lovely :sunny: all day today (and it's nice and warm on my back right now as I sit here in my PC room). The guys got the deck finished today despite the terrific winds we had -- and it looks great! Looking forward to BBQ's and sitting out there each day; so nice & peaceful ... :D

Have a Fantabulous Friday everyone ... :flow2:

Rosebud, this is from pinterest, but I think the origin is skinnytaste.com. They were really a nice treat!

Rosebud - Enjoy your deck! That sounds like a great place to be this summer!

Sue - Thanks for sharing that recipe - I'll have to try it out!

Well, I have a CT scan scheduled for my foot, but it's not until Thursday. Hubby was not happy, since I saw the doctor Mon and he knows I'm in pain. He called the doctor to try to speed up the process :dizzy: I know my hubby loves me, but really? He makes me laugh sometimes when he thinks that he can make things happen faster :D

Anyway, yesterdy was a good day - we had RAIN!!! YAY!! After a horribly dry summer last year, we rejoice in every drop. Hopefully we can get enough cuttings of hay to last for the horse and cattle through the summer.

mahtha 05-11-2012 09:21 AM

Happy Friday!

I did it! :carrot: As of this morning 10% of my starting weight gone! :carrot:
Things seem to be on a much more even keel now and I'm losing just under a pound and a half a week. While I'd like it to be faster, I'll take consistent over stuck any day! 3.8 pounds to Onederland for me.

Tex, I hope you get some relief quickly. It's sweet that your hubby is willing to fight for you to see you pain free.

ubergirl, we're all having our ups and downs here, come along for the ride!

Rosebud, it looks like your weather is finally heading this way. We're supposed to have two beautiful days before the rain comes back. I'm seriously considering driving to the ocean tomorrow to dip my toes in the sand.

Diane, it's nice to see you pop in. I'm a firm believer regarding the weight loss thing when you're ready, you're ready. Sometimes you just need to get past the crazy times to be able to concentrate on you.

Trish, I'm happy to hear you got some rest yesterday, it sounds like you really needed it. I hope you're feeling great today.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday!

pattygirl63 05-11-2012 01:13 PM

The last 2 days were very much OP. Don't see it on the scales, but I know I did good. OP today as well. Today is laundry day. Oldest DGS is taking AP tests and had to be there all afternoon so I will have to pick up youngest DGD from school since he took his Moms van. She wouldn't give our insurance proof of her insurance so she and her Daddt had to sign a paper saying that she and her son would never drive our car. Hip is not hurting today so hopefully. I've had a lot of muscle spasms and aches. I thought it was caused by the Metformin that I was taking, but I find now that it just might be the Fenofibrate. Going to give it up for about a week or so and see what happens.

Rosebud - Thinking of you and your Hubby and those involved with funeral this afteroon. You will love your deck. I have often wished we had thought to have ours covered however, I do have a beautiful view out of my enclosed back porch. So nice and peaceful. It makes a great get away from it all spot. I've kind of lost mine at the moment to DGS and look forward to using it when I get a chance and even more to when I get it back whenever they move. Thanks for the info about fasting that you gave Ubergirl. I found that quite interesting.

Sue - Congratulations on the 10% loss. And thanks for the recipe, I intend to use it.

Texascrapper - Glad you got to the doctor and have the scan schedules. Sorry about all that pain. They wouldn't give you anything for the pain?

Diane - I agree with the others that we are all a work in progress. I also would like to be able to remember that when I get discouraged.

Salsa - I always love sleeping during thunderstorms as long as they aren't destructive storms. There is something about the sound on the roof that makes it such nice sleeping.

Have a great OP day Everyone.

ubergirl 05-11-2012 01:19 PM

matha Wow, big congratulations!!!!!!!! This is a very big and important milestone and definitely warrants celebration.

I'm doing fine food plan wise, but I've really been run-down recently, fighting a dental infection, and I have a lot of stress in my life. My committment level is good. Hope you are all having a good day. Usually a daily weigher, but I didn't get a chance to get on the scale this morning. Still, I'm happy that I had a four pound whoosh this week. No complaints.
