Thanks, guys. It's nice to finally break that barrier - I was getting more than a little frustrated. I was stuck because I wasn't eating enough not realizing I was often eating fewer than 1000 calories a day. Increasing to 1400-ish has made all the difference. Ironic that eating too little can have the same net effect as eating too much.

I'm going to stop counting points and continue to count calories, I think this has given me a much better handle on things.

Thanks again to each of you for your support, there were days I would have walked away if not for you...

Yahoo ... SUE ~ so glad for you too ... :carrot: :broc: :carrot:

CAROLINE ~ it was :sunny: this weekend; today's a bit bleak but a bit warmer, and it's supposed to get up into the mid-60's by Wednesday. Yeah, can't wait ... :D

 SALSA ~ glad to see you drop by anyways; just keep chipping away at the house stuff, and your food plan. ;)

TEXSCRAPPER ~ good for you making food choices at the reunion that you can live with.

Had a good weekend; but did have to rest my legs a bit. They were a tad sore after Friday, but I did a lot of reading -- finished a whole novel. Did my toning & arm exercises to bouncy music. Food has been good; happy about that. Can't remember where I left off ...

Wednesday: wg spagettini with HM bacon/pepper/chz tomato sauce
Thursday: baked sole fish; corn; tomatoes; salad
Friday: baked bbq chicken wings; salad
Saturday: roasted chicken breast; np/corn; salad
Sunday: l/o chicken breast; roasted np & veggies
Monday: pork chop; rice/barley mix; l/o roasted veggies

Have a great OP week everyone ... :flow1:

WHEW!!!! I think the stress at work is finally over with. We can all now move on and look forward to great things.

WI was today and I was down another 1.8 :carrot: C25K this afternoon with my son - so glad that he looks forward to it as much as I do!

thistoo 05-01-2012 09:09 AM

Morning everyone. I'm at 194.2 today, so no real change. I'm just doing my thing and eventually the scale will do its thing. Maybe. Whatever!

I decided to add some ballet conditioning into my workout routine, since I hate yoga so much and haven't been forcing myself to do it. I did the New York City Ballet Workout on Sunday and my abs are still sore this morning, so I guess it did something! All those plies etc. have to be good for my legs, too, and since my calves need all the help they can get, I will stick with it.

I'm spending my lunch at the gym today, most likely on the elliptical. I'm going to take an extra 15 minutes so I can get in a full workout instead of just half an hour. I have a sewing project to work on when I get home and I don't want to have to work out again before I get started.

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

mahtha 05-01-2012 09:16 AM

Good morning everyone

It's miserable and rainy here but everything is turning a gorgeous green!

Caroline, I'm so jealous of your vacation plans, I hope you have a fantastic time. I love NY for a long weekend now and then but find the constant buzz of the city exhausting. We play till all hours then come home and fall asleep to the crickets. SS20 goes to NYU and I don't think he'll ever really leave the city after graduation. He's got the world at his doorstep.

texscrapper, Great job on the family reunion and I'm thrilled to hear work is finally slowing down for you. Take a deep breath and enjoy! WOO HOO on another 1.8, you're moving right along there.

Rosebud, You are one determined lady! I can't wait to hear your results next time you check stats - you've got to be feeling great about so many good choices for yourself.

salsa, I hope you're finally feeling cozy in your new home. Boxes and stuff can make me feel so unsettled. (with kids constantly coming and going I'm trying unsuccessfully to keep the boxes et al to the garage but it aint easy! ;)

I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Hi all! Sounds like there are some good positive things going on! I haven't weighed for awhile. I think it helps for me to not obsess too much. It makes me cranky and discouraged.

Just a quick shout out to everyone! Gotta go. Work is busy.

Justwant2Bhealthy 05-01-2012 01:49 PM

Hey, shocker of shockers out there today -- 77 F here! A lot warmer than they expected, but that's G-R-E-A-T!!! :D

Doing some laundry right now to throw on the line; had I known it was going to be this nice, I would have done it earlier, but this will dry by dinnertime, I'm sure.

SUE ~ yes, I am looking forward to that too. I was tempted to weigh myself today, but since I only lost 2-3 lbs a month over the winter; think I'll wait a little bit longer to get that 3-4 lbs instead. It would really irk me if I just get 2, ya know. Ya, I'll wait a bit longer ...

Gotta go get those clothes on the line. Have a lovely day ... :flow1:

SMSDREAMER2007 05-01-2012 04:01 PM

Hey Ya'll! It's been a while.
Sooo busy after the move. Finally caught up on everything. I haven't stepped on a scale often, but last I did was sometime last week and it said I was back to 241 :\ If I didn't gain more than that with all the sodium, eating out and laziness of the move and situating classes and catching up on everything I'll be happy. I started c25k yesterday and was still WAAAAYYY over my calorie range but I am making a vow to go to the workout room here at our apartments every day. I don't plan on weighing myself for 2+ weeks because I also started some light weight training today and I know that every time I start running I retain weight until my body gets used to it. Add weight training in there and I probably won't see the scale move for a month or so. I am also lowering my cals back to 1200, I had more success there than i did at 1400 because I think "oh I can add 100 cals and it's ok" but at 1400 I do that and I get dangerously close to the cal range where I don't lose at all because of my PCOS which is 1600. Hope you all are doing well on your journey. Sorry it took me so long to come back! HUUGGSSS

Good morning everyone

Diane, I feel your pain re: obsessed/cranky/discouraged. I really need to step. away. from. the. scale. but I'm a little afraid to lose the immediate accountability. Someday I'll trust myself enough to just do it.

Rosebud, 77 must be glorious! It's gray here again today, but we so need the rain. I can't wait until you get on the scale and we can all rally round you to celebrate your 100 pounds. That's some determination, sistah!

Cassie, Welcome back, we've missed you around here! Good to hear you're settling into your new home - I can only imagine how all the moving stuff affected your food options but you'll be back OP in no time.

I made baaaaad food choices last night. Had a sensible dinner but was craving something sweet so I had a cup of berries with cool whip. That didn't satisfy so I was rummaging the cabinets a little while later and started picking at granola. 1/2 cup and 300 calories later I was over my calorie limit for the day, still not satisfied, and angry with myself. Went to bed and will start fresh today.

I hope everyone has a great day!

thistoo 05-02-2012 10:29 AM

I am up a pound this morning! Go me!

Whatever, I'm used to it at this point. To keep myself from getting depressed I put on my new yellow dress and came to work even though I would have rather stayed in bed all day.

I keep finding new bruises on my arms (there's one on my stomach too) for no reason. I have no idea what that's about. My body is a constant source of mystery!

Anyway, I have nothing to report other than the usual lack of weight loss. Also I'm having trouble focusing on anything other than my impending trip. I hope you're all having a great day so far. We're halfway through the week; that's exciting.

Sue, I do the same thing with granola, which is why it can't be in my house anymore. I used to enjoy it in yogurt, when I ate grains and dairy, but once I started pouring bowls with milk at 10:00 at night I knew it was no longer a safe food for me.

Slashnl 05-02-2012 10:42 AM

Jeez. I am so off track right now. I am letting so many other things get in the way of doing what is good for me. It is totally my fault that I let it happen and just play the victim. Just stupid. But, I'm not giving up. I'm going to keep starting again until I get it right. Ugh.

Caroline, don't let it get to you. That pound will come back off and hopefully take a few of its calorie friends with it!!

SMSDreamer, moving can really take it out of you. You'll get back at it and start losing again!

Rosebud, so cool to put clothes on the line! I love doing that. It's time to get back to it again.

I used to hate granola but my husband was obsessed with the granola served at the Marriott. On our last trip they told us they make it themselves and they gave us the recipe. Being such a good wife;) I made it for my husband as a treat. It made TONS and it's completely addicting. I've given most of it away, but it was really calling to me last night. I'm ready to just toss it and get the temptation of the house.

SMSDREAMER2007 05-02-2012 01:10 PM

Sue- Thanks for the welcome back! I missed you all too. Every time I sat down to do homework I was like ooohh I wanna be checking the boards! Or every time I sat down to check the boards I knew I couldn't because I'd spend hours reading them. Sigh. As far as your bad night last night. It's one night, you'll do better today!

Caroline- If you are stressing about your trip that might be the reason you are gaining weight. I have a friend that no matter how much sh eats or doesnt eat or works out or doesn't (literally, I mean 1800 cals or 800 cals, hours of excersize, mins of exercise or anything in between) she gains weight or stays the same. Doesn't lose. Try relaxing, take a nice bath or a nap for an hour, do something you love it might help.

Diane - that's the way to do it! just keep at it.

Well, I couldn't resist temptation, I jumped on the scale this morning it was 239 soo I only gained 2-3 lbs since moving YAY not as bad as I thought. Buuuttt with starting c25k and a teensy bit of weight training (my arms) I think I am going to stay at this weight for at least a month :\ which kind of sucks cause I was hoping to be in the 220's by the end of april and that didn't happen so I thought maybe by the end of may....errr not happening either. Oh well! Have a good day all!
