Good morning!

We are not freezing this morning! I am so grateful!
For my working car, my house, and my father.
For a post-it note with some clear goals and some leeway.
For patience and compassion.
For people with easy smiles!
I couldn't sleep but I am grateful for the extra time this morning to get things done and prepare for the day!
I am grateful for the blogs that inspire me.
I am grateful for my mom and that I work hard to accept her as she is because then I get to enjoy a relationship with her.

Good Morning gratitude friends - hope you have a great day. Let's all treat ourselves as well as we'd treat a good friend.

- every day is a day with new possibilites

- Rachel (my wonderful stepmom) - her shoulder replacement surgery has been changed from February 27 to January 30.. Grateful that I can pull out the troups (my cousins) and we will take care of her in blocks of time.

- I found a replacement bowl for the one I broke via Ebay - it is a beautiful pyrex bowl from the 50's/60's. - tourquoise blue on white... a Pennsylvania Dutch pattern. So grateful to find a bowl for that set my mom gave me when she moved.

- willingness to keep trying

+ a good morning yesterday with the tests done and a small shop for produce in the city

+ pet therapy at the nursing home was canceled because of illness - I worked on my quilt

+ good talk with Donna yesterday. She is still grieving Ted's death and I reassured her that it's OK and completely normal

+ chopped the rest of the ice off the deck steps so poor Disney can get down into the dog yard

+ sister Joan called and we are having lunch and a good talk tomorrow - she's been in Tasmania since Christmas

+ neighbour Greg sanded my icy lane

- working on the literacy project - that feels good.

- getting it organized for Rachel's surgery next week

- this mild winter is a welcome change

- seeing the kids playing outside always makes my heart feel good

- it's nice to be invited to little Maddy's birthday party

- good to talk to my sister yesterday

- hot water heater

+ milder weather for Friday and Saturday which may help melt some of the ice in my lane

+ quick trip to town yesterday for more fabric - no match but close enough

+ made stock for pea soup from ham hock that I found way down in the freezer - I love bonuses!

+ absolutely all laundry is caught up including dog quilts

+ looking forward to lunch with my sister today "Sisters are different flowers from the same garden"

+ also looking forward to Fair Board Meeting tonight - new Board will be wonderful after the tension of the past few years

+ stuck to food plan perfectly yesterday

+ knee seems to be improving - icing helps

- invited to a Super Bowl party...that's nice (I like the commercials as well or sometimes even more than the game)

- Rachel is ready mentally for her shoulder replaced - it seems. She has a very positive attitude

+ the power is back on after a 12 hour outage

+ freezing rain changed to snow which will make things less slippery

+ the furnace guy braved the ice yesterday morning and did the annual cleaning

+ Ernie popped in to be sure that I was OK with no power - I felt cherished

+ stayed warm overnight with two dogs joining me on the bed

+ did get more quilting fabric sorted until it got dark

+ feeling quite able to cope with no heat, light or water - my pioneer ancestry!

- grateful to see Aunt Mackie yesterday at the nursing home. Very sad to see her condition. She knew us, however.

- off to be with Rachel for her surgery

- nice birthday party for two year old, Maddy. Nice to see all those folks.

+ a "normal" day yesterday - no power outages

+ the snow on top of the wet ice has made things less treacherous outside

+ remembered to put my car in the barn overnight as the ice is dropping from the trees

+ was able to buy Glenn's breakfast yesterday - now I don't feel I owe him for that quick plumbing call

+ made more progress on quilting fabric sorting

+ managed to give Disney a good butt-bath

+ knee is improving daily

+ dinner tonight with the "girls" and their kids - always fun

+ a relaxing and balanced weekend

+ got another border onto the quilt that I want to hand in next Monday

+ great evening with my women friends and children last night at Karen's

+ new recipe - kugelis - was a hit with everyone

+ a balanced day ahead - gym, coffee with Joanne and then a trip to town for new glasses

+ the cold I've been holding off for a week seems to be retreating

+ another good night of solid sleep

+ Joanne popped in and set the remote properly for my propane stove - it now turns on or off when the temperature gets too cold or too hot

+ good visit to optometrist yesterday - small cataract is stable

+ figured out a design problem for my current quilt top and should finish it today

+ roasting chicken bones and veggies for soup smell so good this morning

+ lovely snow overnight has covered up the grubby-looking snow and ice

+ a day without appointments but still lots to do - a no-pressure or deadline kind of day

+ Jazz, what at three, still has his puppy enthusiasm for new snow

* Finally Finally Finally!!! Officially 50 pounds GONE (was stuck at 49 for over a week!)

* I've been sick :*( but hubby is stepping up to the plate and helping some, which is a rare thing.

* Jonathan (son with autism) showed great compassion with me this AM, and cooperated getting ready for school with no problem.

* Weekend event with the Autism Society was a great hit. 120+ people attended "Wild Bear Falls" from our group and had a great time. (I was in charge of this event)

* Getting excited about seeing a new "decade" on the scale!

* So thankful His mercies are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness, Lord, unto me.
