Default Sweating! Eww!

Does anyone else feel like they are sweating MORE the thinner they get?

When I first started working out, I would "glisten", so to speak. But now, my hair gets wet and today, I felt a DROP run down my face while I was at the gym.

Why is this? You would think the better shape I was in, the more conditioned I would be, the LESS I would sweat, but it is totally the opposite?

Does anyone else experience this?

I have totally experienced this and my guess is your just working a lot harder and your body is working harder to cool itself down. It kind of makes sense. I am curious as to what others have to say on this though

If you’re fit, the more you’ll sweat. Sweating is the body’s way of cooling itself. This mechanism improves as you exercise regularly.

As you get in better shape, your body learns to cool itself more efficiently. Blood is shunted to the skin’s surface more quickly via tiny blood vessels that dilate and radiate heat away from the body. At the same time, the sweat glands increase their output of a fluid-and-sodium mixture, which cools the body as it evaporates. While fit people produce more sweat than sedentary folks, they lose less salt, because more of it is reabsorbed by the body’s cells as it travels from the sweat glands to the skin’s surface. The result: More copious and diluted sweat, and more rapid cooling.

So, it's nothing to worry about, it's actually a good thing. Be proud of your sweat!!

I used to hate it when I sweat. Probably because I didn't sweat because of a hard workout. More so because I was just fat. :-)
Anyways, check my siggy for a nice quote (green one) regarding sweat ;-) Now I love it, well, I mean while I workout.

You should see all of us in my Zumba class, including the teachers, we look like we just got out of the shower, hair plastered to our heads etc. It's a good thing!

Me too! My face turns red, my makeup runs, and my hair sticks to my head. I guess I'll be turning into a fat puddle of GOO soon. Sheesh.

ugh I loathe sweating, but you're right - there seems to be MORE now. Although, it takes more to make me sweat in the first place, if you know what i mean? I used to get a sheen of perspiration on my forehead from walking around the mall for 10 mins LOL But once i get really moving now, my hair is soaked in 2 minutes, and my BACK sweats?! my back is always soaked LOL never pit stains - where I think i SHOULD sweat - just hair and back.

I'm weird

I can't afford to sweat more. This is not good new to wake up to. Ugh.
