My 25 year old, smart-mouthed stepson is like this. I don't allow him in my home anymore and my husband completely supports me on it. I tried a few weeks ago to see if he could be civil and the first thing he did was rub his belly and say he was getting fat and asked me what I thought, with a smirk on his face. He's not even a pound overweight by the way. I immediately steered him to the door, gave him a shove out, shut the door and locked it. I was 120 pounds when he was a teen and lived with us...he just thinks it's hilarious that I'm so overweight now.

No offense to your stepson, but he sounds like a tool. Good for you for shoving him out. It's beyond rude to say things like that to a person, but it's just double-rude when they're a guest in your home.

I'm honestly curious about how anyone thinks the number on the scale gives them license to treat anyone else like garbage. It makes me angry.

Glad the visit went well, b ut what a laugh I had when reading what people came up with! Bear them in mind and you`ll always be armed!

How about, if he says he feels tiny next to you just look at him with surprise and say very sincerely: "That`s really too much information!" :-)
