Gary did you see what happened last night when Prince Fielder tried to get into the Dodger clubhouse?

I did.

I liked it!

I remember the good old days when Don Drysdale and Bob Gibson would nail anyone in the ribs to back them off or for running up the score.

Didn't seem to fire us up last night

Haha I wish big ol' Prince got to Mota. I've never been a fan of Mota both from his lousy tenure with the Mets and his pre-Mets tenure where he threw at Piazza multiple times and then ran away like a little chicken when Piazza came after him. I think Piazza also tried to track him down in the clubhouse to no avail...he had already left.

We had our own little bean ball incident in yesterdays game. No fights or anything close to it, but a Cards pitcher threw one right at David Wright's head...woulda nailed him if he didn't manage to get out of the way. Pujols was hit in the arm earlier in the gm, so the Mets thought that them going after Wright was in retaliation for that, and were not happy that they chose to go after his head...thats what most of the postgame chatter was about. LOL these days even when they win, they can't enjoy it...seems like there is always more bad than good.

SLAMMED by the Phillies. Darn! I hope my Rockies can bounce back.

The Prince Fielder issue was on the sports radio this morning. I hadn't seen any of it.

Thanks RAZZ... I love Wally too... I've got a stuffed one sitting on a white Adirondack chair... like they have up in the booth...

I'm a nervous-negative nellie tonight... we lost two to Tampa, out of first place by 2.5 games ... I find myself peaking at the Wild Card standings...
So we are in NY, and Yanks are HOT.. HOT..HOT.. we have Smoltz on the mound...our line up is all screwed up... Youkilis usually (1st/3rd) is in LF...

Yankees have Joba 'the hut' Chamberlain pitching (0.8 era since break), I just don't like this kid... wears his hat crooked, pants too long... ok he's a punk ! and of course he's very good too... but I guarantee he will throw at someone tonight...
Boy... sorry for the rant... I'm not my chipper self tonight...

The angel on my shoulder says "its just a game"...

The devil says but its the Yankees

..........BILL.........
re-arrange your RS stuff and start praying...

Have a great night guys..

Mixed emotions...

yay! Rockies lost!!

boo...they lost to Cliff Lee....which makes the Phillies that much more powerful with the pick up of him...

reminder...they killed us in the play-offs last year!

Thumbs down Yankees explode

Good Grief!!!!!!!!

The Yankees have just exploded with 8 runs in the bottom of the 4th - and they still have one out and a man on first.

Where are you SweetCaroline???

ETA: And now a man on second, also.

Caroline it's only one game. I know, I know we're getting to the point when every game counts. Have some chocolate.

Razz Thompson got a 3 game suspension. I don't think it was intentional

Fielder and Mota got a fine what's up with that?

Diane the wild card race is very close at the moment. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Clyde, it certainly is a "wild" wild card race. We aren't helping ourselves much by losing last night. Unfortunately, it doesn't get any better because we're playing the Cubs now. At least it is at home.

I don't mind if you beat the Cubs

We are playing the Pirates and for some reason they are always tricky games. They shouldn't be. Now that they have sold a bunch of players let's hope we can win.

They optioned Smoltz today... The front office had such high hopes for him... its sad, he's prolly done... what a horrible way to go out... we'll see.... stranger things have happened...

I have friends in NYC on a layover, they tried to get seats to the game tonight.. I just got a text... $1700 for 2 seats, they were at a 'pub' they'll be watchin the game from there... LOL..

Josh Beckett vs. AJ Burnett tonight...

I can't believe its August... seems like it was just opening day...

Enjoy your games everyone...

Caroline I was looking at tickets for the last series against the Cubs. All that's left is standing room only and a few at that. I went on stubhub and the prices are outrageous. Crazy prices wish I had bought some earlier in the year.
