Congrats Jacqui on the whoosh!

It's another quick check-in today. I start my new job and I'm freaking out. A couple weeks ago I bought some new black pants that fit. Now they're a little too big but the other ones I have are too small. I'll have to make do with a belt but this isn't the type of stress I want on my first day. Oh well, everything will be fine!

Driving by as I missed my turn this morning. TOM has me in knots but sticking to plan and the scale is staying just a few pounds over my pre-TOM weight which is a good sign of a drop for me when it's gone. Will catch up in the morning. Hope you guys had a great day!

Default The woosh is on

Hey ladies, checking in. I was really concerned at the start of the month that I was being overly ambitious. My last several attempts at weight loss had started really slow. So I'm pretty pumped to have just 1.6 left to go with a week and a half left in the month. Ate at Cheesecake Factory with my mom and sister tonight, but feel like I kept it reasonable. I'm prepared for a small upward fluctuation from it, but I think I should be able to move past it pretty quickly.

Cool

Hi all!

Just popping in quickly before my day gets too crazy. I had a wonderful mini-vaca with family and friends. Saw my beautiful and incredibly intelligent goddaughter graduate from high school. And then proceeded to completely destroy my diet plans by eating all that yummy goodness at her party!

I knew I was going to go over my calories but oh my gosh...I got crazy! Maybe is wasn't completely my fault. lol. Can I blame it on TOM that showed up five days early?? That was brutal and the last thing I needed on vacation!

Anyway, finally weighed in yesterday. I'm only up .5 lb. Dare I get excited that when TOM is over and the bloat goes away, I might see a 2-3 lb loss? I seriously need a whoosh asap!

Hope everyone is having a good week. I see a few folks getting close to hitting your June goals. Congrats to you! Oh and Delphi, I feel your pain! TOM is kicking my booty this month. Hang in there.

Good Morning Everyone. I hope everyone is doing well

Just stopping by for a quick check in. My teenage son has been in the hospital since yesterday, so I was there all yesterday and will be going back in an hour or so.

I'm a stress eater so I wanted to stop by the site to help me deal with the stress of everything that's going on with him. I will try to check in tomorrow. Have a great day everyone!

dangerouscurves76 ~ to your goddaughter for graduation. So exciting. Glad to see there wasn't much of a gain from the high calories but I'm with you on seeing that whoosh after TOM.

Aclai4067 ~ You have done an amazing job. You have every reason to be proud. You have made excellent progress this month and its inspiring. Please keep up the great work as its encouraging for folks like me to see such great strides taken.

LovelyLeah ~ Congrats on the new job. I know its stressful the clothes thing especially when starting a new job. Been there before. I suppose the bright side, is that clothes are getting big and that is AWESOME. When those pay checks start flowing in and the weight continues to trend down, you can reward yourself with some shopping..eh?

Sandye ~ I feel your pain. I have been there and it happens though it doesn't make us feel any better. Hope the day got better for you guys. I think the older I get the harder it is for me to keep such a tight control on emotion when it comes to my boys. Sometimes, I slip. Thus is human nature I suppose. We are inherently flawed. Nothing a few hugs and kind words can't mend though. Thanks for the kick in the butt. You know I need them. We all need tough love from time to time. I sure hope the end of the week is kinder to you as it looks like you have had a rough go of it.

Jacqui ~ Oooooo you are getting sooo close. Hopefully we will see you hit Onederland this month? That would be awesome.
_____________

Alright, for me, TOM is still lurking about but I think his initial invasion seems to be calming. The scale is back down to my pre-TOM weight, so I'm assuming since TOM is still about that I can expect a loss when he finally packs his bags. In any case, gotta run. You folks have a wonderful day and HAVE FUN!

Good morning ladies!!! It's almost FRIDAY!!! Not sure why I'm so excited...it just means that I have less time to get ready for my trip! LOL

Magistra
~ You're getting it done!! Way to go!

GardenerJoy
~ Nice loss girlie!! Keep up the great work!!

LovelyLeah
~ Good luck on your first day!! You'll do great! And even if it is causing you some stress, WTG on the loose pants!!!

Ashley ~ Congratulations on getting so far already!! You got this!!

Keli ~ I knew that blip on the scale yesterday would right itself fast! Yay!!

DangerousCurves
~ Aww, the graduation must have been so bittersweet! Big milestones like that always are. Yes, totally blame TOM. He makes sane women go bananas and crave things that they shouldn't. It's great that you're only up .5!! I bet you'll get that whoosh soon!

lovemylife
~ I hope your son is okay!! I am so sorry that he isn't well.

Delphi ~ girl you know it! The older I get the less patience I have for daily stuff that I should already have a handle on. I am just a bundle of emotions as it is and I let it get the better of me. I apologized to the boys and the day got better, but I just hate that it was bad to begin with. Anyway...today is a new day and it's off to a much better start! Hopefully TOM packs his bags soon and takes a few extra pounds with him!!!

Ambience ~ Way to go!!! Great job on reaching your goal early!!!

I did not expect to see that loss today. I hope it sticks!! I think I will wait until tomorrow, and if it sticks I will make a new goal for the rest of the month. I am going to go get my hair cut today, something I rarely do. I still have no idea what it is I want done. I think I should probably make some sort of a decision huh? Oh, I had a NSV this week! I have some dresses in my closet from the last time I tried to lose weight and they have been far too small for me--size 16s. I tried them on a few weeks ago and couldn't zip them up, no way, no how. I tried them on yesterday and I was able to zip them up!! So it looks like Tony is whipping me into shape even if the scale is being slow to join the party! Still, I probably won't wear these dresses. I bought them for a winter wedding and since my sister's wedding is in July, I want something more summery. Ugh...I don't like shopping for dresses...lol. Anyone have any recommendations on where to look? I seriously know nothing about stores and fashion--I'm a jeans and tee shirt kinda gal. Even when I was skinny I didn't like setting foot in a mall. Someone needs to take my girl card away I guess.

Well, off to get some and a shower! Have a fantastic day ladies and don't forget to DRINK YOUR WATER!!

Work will be a huge learning curve as far as eating goes. Yesterday I ate less than 700 calories and barely drank any water. I packed myself a healthy lunch but I was expecting a short training shift for my first day, not 10.5 hours. And our breaks aren't official 15 min or 30 min because we're so short staffed. So it's take what you can get, when you can get it. Hopefully once we get some more people in we can start having enough people to cover breaks. But otherwise work went great. I just know that I need to pack more snack items that are quick and easy. At least with being so busy I don't have time to feel hungry but it's really unhealthy to eat that low and I don't want to do that. I think I might look into making my own trail mix. Nut are a good, quick source of fuel and they'll bump my calories into a healthy range if I'm not able to get a proper meal in. And I need to prepare better in the morning with my breakfasts.

iDream That's so cool that those dresses fit now. I love that. I have some things in my closet that are too small but they are pretty things so I don't want to return them. I hope they fit me one day. If you are fitting into a size 16 you have a lot of choices for shopping. You could try a big department store like Macy's or Nordstroms, they would have a pretty big selection of dresses. Lately I've been doing a lot of online shopping. It's a nice way to be able to look at fashions at my convenience. Sometimes stores have free shipping and easy returns. Good luck finding a dress!

Delphi I hope you have a wonderful day too!

lovemylife I do hope your son is going to be okay. I'm sending some prayers your way.

dangerouscurves A party! So lovely! I always eat at parties too. I bet that extra will just fall off!

Magistra, woohoo on the downward trend!

Leah, SO CLOSE! You are going to hit Onederland anytime now! I'm glad you are on top of the eating situation that you need to figure out for your workday. I really like the idea of a trail mix, because you are so right about the nuts. I'm glad you are pleased with the job itself though!

Sandye, CONGRATS on making GOAL! And yay on the NSV!!! That's the best, isn't it?! Let us know what you decided with your hair and if you like it!

Ambience, CONGRATS on making GOAL! Way to go!

Delphi, glad to see your water weight has fallen back off and I have my fingers crossed for you for that post-TOM whoosh!

Lovemylife, I am SO sorry to hear your son is in the hospital! Please keep us updated on how he and you are doing.

DangerousCurves, I'm glad you had a great time, and yay on only gaining half a pound! That will fall back off before you know it! And I hope you also get that post-TOM whoosh!

Keli, I'd say it's about time for you to get a big drop! :

Good Morning Everyone. Just a quick check in before I go to the hospital to see my son and head to work.

Hope everyone is doing great! It's TGIF, yay lol

My son is still in the hospital and some virus that they have never seen before. When I went to the hospital yesterday around 10 am, he hadn't even seen a doctor yet for the morning. I have had to micro manage every aspect about his care since he's been in the hospital. It's just so discouraging. I almost pulled him out of that hospital yesterday. I told them if they didn't find his doctor and get me a plan as to how they were planning to handle his situation, I was taking him out.

Now with a virus, I do understand that you really can't treat that, it pretty much has to run it's course. But with him having so many other symptom's along with this virus, such as mouth ulcers, swollen glands and a fever that just won't go away, that's what I expect them to treat. They have been keeping his fever under control, but he hasn't eaten since Tuesday.

The ulcers in his mouth is making that impossible. So I asked about that and the doctor said, oh let me check and see why we don't have him on a steroid for that and to get some of the swelling down. I'm thinking you should have done that yesterday.

So yesterday, when I stepped out for a bit, I went and bought him some ensure, just so he can get some nutrients in his body. I just don't understand why they didn't think of that. He just can't continue to drink water and broth.

I'm just so frustrated with this situation. He will likely be there through the weekend. I have however been staying on plan and have not turned to stress eating. I want to thank everyone that wished my son well wishes, I really appreciate the support.

Everyone have a great weekend and remember Saturday and Sunday are just regular days and we can stick to plan

Good morning and TGIF!!!

LovelyLeah ~ Glad to hear your first day went well--10.5 hours on the first day though? Wow!! I think trail mix is a great idea!! I loved your note next to yesterday's weigh in! GIMME THAT ONEDERLAND!! I feel ya!!

Magistra ~ Thanks for the recommendations! My mom said she will go shopping with me...she hates shopping too so I'm not sure how it will go.

JacquiD ~ Thanks! I decided go from hair that was somewhere near the middle of my shoulder blades with blended, super long layers (that almost didn't look like layers) to shoulder length hair with shorter, choppier, thinned(because I have wild woman hair) layers. I went in with an inspiration pic and asked her to cut it a little longer. She did a fantastic job. I almost never get hair cuts and when I do it's usually Super Cuts or something and hubs is always bugging me to find a stylist who can 'get to know' my hair. I hate to say it...but he was right. I went in without straightening my hair and let my wild locks fly. LOL I figured if I was going to start a relationship with a hair stylist that I should enter into it honestly. Anyway, I left quite happy, now I just need to see if I can make it look as good as she did!

Lovemylife ~ I am so sorry that your son is still not feeling well. I would be livid if my child weren't being taken care of to the best of their ability, so I don't envy you there at all. How old is he? Could he have hand foot and mouth? That's the only virus I know of that causes mouth ulcers. My boys had it when they were little and I swabbed their mouth with a mixture of Tylenol, maalox and benedryl (aka Magic Mouthwash) it helped with the pain and swelling. I hope they figure out what it is that he has and that they get him treated and well asap!! Hang in there! You're doing a fantastic job taking care of him, don't forget to take care of you. Bravo on not stress eating!! I don't know if I could do that.

We're supposed to go to the park with our homeschool group today, but it's raining out so I don't know what our plans will end up being. I should really start packing or at least clean out the van...blech! I don't wanna.
Well, I guess I should probably go grab some and a shower in case alternate plans are made. Have a fantastic day everyone and don't forget to DRINK YOUR WATER!!!

lovemylife, you tell them, Momma! I don't blame you for micro-managing! I know hospitals are busy and nurses and doctors are often overworked, but when it's your child, none of that matters. You expect everyone's best effort and that's what you should get! I don't know you or your son but God does, so I have added him (and you) to my prayers. I hope you don't mind! You're doing a great job staying positive and on plan through all this! Continue to keep us updated when you get a chance!

Sandye, ooo, that sounds pretty! Good for you on finding a stylist you like! I need to do the same. Like you, I rarely get my hair cut, and the thing is, it grows like a weed! I have straight, long (mid back), blonde hair, no layers at present. Every year or two, I go in and get it cut up to the top of my shoulders, sometimes with layers and long bangs. But by the time I go in, there's usually been a switch-over of staff, lol!
