84.8% of GOAL!!!!

Fit---Look at post #2 for our "side challenges"... For now I'd recommend waiting until someone throws a new side challenge out because some of the current side challenges are well under way.

Our "Black Ops" team will start with weigh in on 9/18. We're gonna compare our team against both the Biggest Loser Show on NBC and against the Biggest Loser Thread here on 3FC. It's our own internal comparison (because the leaders on the 3FC thread don't much care for Sarge), but I have no doubt our platoon will perform extremely well when we compare our numbers to theirs.

Anon generally adds people to the spreadsheet when they've demonstrated they have the gumption to stick around for more than a week. Once you're on the spreadsheet you can add any "intentional" exercise minutes and miles to our platoon total as well. Miles trekked can come from walking, running, swimming, machines that calculate miles expended, etc.

Hope that helps.

My actuals for 9-3-11 thru 9-10-11 are:
Weight loss = 2 lbs. (Current Wt. 207)
Walking = 29 miles

I believe my confusion is cleared up regarding my Omron Pedometer that I purchased recently. I've gotten in a full week of data. I'm claiming the total miles. The majority of the miles are continued walking - in sessions of 30 minutes or more. Some of the miles just added up during the course of misc. walking (walking to and from car at work, shopping, playing with the dog, etc.)

My goals for 9-11-11 thru 9-18-11 are:
Weight loss = 2 lbs.
Walking = 20 miles
Exercise Body Parts = Kettle Bell workout 5 days a week 30 min.
Mid-term goal: Get to one-der-land by 10-1-11 (199 or less.)

JoyfulVeg - Sorry your leg hurts still. Meh, it's too hot out to race today anyway. The first race you quit out on hurts.

Hmmm. I decided to just run 1-2 today, would trying for sub 8 be recovery? Probably not. Also probably not likely. I think I would need to taper for it...

MTA OH heck, I am a sucker for punishment. That's how you are supposed to break in new shoes right?

Hi, all! I just found the new thread. Didn't realize it changed every so often.

After my first week, I'm down from 251 to 247.8 — 3.2 pounds! Woo-hoo! I hope it isn't all water weight. Just in case it is, I pledge to lose another 2 pounds this week.

Thank you all for the congratulations!!! 1 year ago I had not even finished my first 5K, a few months before that I thought I would not ever be a runner, that I was destined to be a walker.

My official chip time is 3hrs 0min 40sec. Considering I started thinking that it might take me up to 3 and 1/2 hours, that is a pretty great time!

Ksquared - You are right!

Congrats, you sure have come a long way.

Josey : I hope you enjoy your new bike, also i did get a loofah sponge, i don't think my face has ever been cleaner after i used it, don't know if it will help but...

rmc9142 : You put up some pretty impressive mileage every week, i hear you on the slow down.

Chickadee : Dropping the hammer like usual, i knew you would see some nice drops as your routine was resumed, just because you stayed even.

JoyfulVegGirl : I'm sorry your leg is affecting your exercise, hoping it starts feeling better, just don't let it be a crutch or excuse, i have worked through so much pain and soreness this last 2 years it's almost always not as bad as my mind tries to make it.

kitkatt : Don't know if i've ever just said hi to you, so hi, i'm glad you seem to be hanging around and in it to win it.

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes, ( 42 now if anyone was wondering )ugh... So i went and did the 12 mile hike today, it was 34 c out... pretty hot for september here, actually saw some buffalo today, not a whole lot else as far as wildlife, need to do my weights here in a bit but right now i'm relaxing with some rye and diet coke.

Something different, a few pics from today to break up the monotonousness of my usual posts. Sorry if this is to off topic.

Don't usually get to see the Buffalo, they are usually up in the hills hiding. Hard to see still.

This is the flats (marsh ) it's pretty dry right now, these are swans, in a coup;le of weeks there will literally be thousands of geese and swans, gulls, pelicans etc... flocked together here prepping for their long flight south.

Walking through some of the brush, nice to get some shade today.

Ate lunch here at the old homestead, there is a fresh water spring down there, i climbed this hill afterwards to get a better look around, this is fairly old, obviously the barn has not faired as well over time.

Had a little rest on this fallen tree by the river ouyt of the sun, this is also close to where i found my turtle last year, lots of fish, some kids said they caught about 70 today ( jack fish ), also lots of blue herons around.

Just a curiosity here, a sinkhole has formed taking out a chunk of the trail.

Heres about the best picture i got of a blue heron, it's a large bird and kind of odd looking, they typically take flight the moment they see a human ( hard to capture).

Thanks Kris I'm glad your back Congrats on your 10 lbs and I am sure there will be many more now that you are back on the platoon

I am pretty excited since I am almost half way to my goal. I figured out how to do it with school the next step will be figuring it out once I start my full time teacher practicum. I still have trouble fitting in exercise but there is no excuse for not eating healthy. No matter how busy and I find as long as I make good food choices the scale moves down.

I was mad since I decided to go to the gym after work today and when I arrived at the door I realized it closed at 5 (which I think is really early but I guess it is Sunday....).

Thanks for the suggestion/reminder. It has been a tough few days - so many reminders and touching stories. I know that many need the reminder to never forget 9-11
