This race started with a pretty steep down hill to the trail, then we ran out the trail to mile 7 and turned around and finished where we got onto the trail.

Last night I set out all of my clothes and put the timing chip on my shoe.

I woke up and ate some oatmeal with cinnamon and ½ a banana and drank a cup of coffee. Then I took a shower…I usually do not shower before running but because there were going
to be so many people, I figured it would be the kind thing to do.

My neighbor drove so on the way to the race I ate some yogurt. When we got there, we were a bit cold, but knew we would be warm enough in a little while. We walked around and
stretched until it was time to line up. The prerace packet mentioned lining up with others that ran the race at the same pace as you, so while I waited for someone to organize that I
talked with a few friends. We were all surprised when the horn blew.

I ended up at the back of the pack, and it was amazing to watch all of the runners going down hill toward the trail. Once I made it onto the trail, I was going to speed up a bit, but the
runkeeper lady was telling me I was going faster than I usually start out at. The entire first half of the race had a 1%-2% incline. So my goal was to see if I could keep my average
pace under a 14 minute mile. I stayed right around 13m45sec per mile average until the turn around at mile 7 then I wanted to be less than 13min42sec per mile average which I was
figuring would have me finishing right under 3 hours.

My average pace came down to 13min32, and I felt good and enjoyed the race all the way until the 11 mile marker. The last few miles I endured, and kept pushing forward.
I was DETERMINED to finish in less than 3 hours. The last time the runkeeper lady talked to me she said my pace was 13min36sec. The pic my husband snapped of me shows the
timer as 3hr1m11sec. I was so bummed. Then my neighbor told me that her chip time showed her being over 1 min faster than the timer…so I am hoping when they post the results
it will show me as under 3hrs.

This afternoon we decided to go to an air show. Instead of spending an hour waiting for the shuttle bus, we walked over. So today’s intentional mileage was 16.5 miles.
I have reached a personal record of over 34200 steps in one day, 5hrs and 15 min of moderate to vigorous activity and over 4000 cals burned in one day.

envelope: Congratulations on the race!!! You did an amazing job! I can't believe you went out and did more walking after that, lol - that is a crazy number of calories burned for the day!

Tate: Welcome! I am impressed that you've just jumped right into everything here; it's great to see someone start out with so much positive energy.

josey: Yay on your acquisition of Buttercup!

MadamB: Awesome on the "FIT" comment! That must have felt great.

rmc: I'm glad your husband has gotten so into going to the gym with you! I'd love it if mine got to the same point, but not sure if that will happen, lol. I think he'd enjoy it a lot if he made the time for it, but it's hard to get him to put away the work and make time for something (anything) else.

My weigh-in this week captures some weight lost while on my trip last week that didn't show up when I first returned. I was actually down an additional 2.2 lbs on Friday, but I've jumped back up since then with some water weight and I am using today's weight for my numbers. Hopefully that water weight will drop off this week and make for another nice weigh-in next Sunday.

Remembering Sept 11th today. To any here who lost loved ones, friends and colleagues, you are in my thoughts.

WAY TO WIN TROOPS!!!! Envelope's race complete with photos, Chick's huge weight losses to start off the weigh-ins!!!! Win! Win! Win!

Can't wait to see more of those weight loss numbers!!!

P.S. Tate--I'll add 3.25 treadmill numbers if you're not on the spreadsheet, but we don't typically add "walk around work" numbers because it's more about "intentional" exercise minutes/miles trekked...where you have to force yourself to get those miles in.

I hope you guys don't mind an addition. While my scale is not moving very fast these days, I am definitely a no excuses sort. I do weights and zumba 3 times per week, am currently doing P90X, and am about to start running to get ready for my first ever 5K on October 29.

For this week I plan to lose 1 pound (that will probably be my norm for a while). Today I am 161.8, so am shooting for 160.8 next Sunday.
