Default Biggest Loser 12 week challenge - Dec through Feb

Does anyone want to do a Biggest Loser 12 week challenge with me? Using the program from the main diet book The Biggest Loser Weight Loss Program and recipes from the cookbooks? If we start here soon it would go from the beginning of December through the end of Febuary/beginning of March - almost into spring! This means getting into bootcamp and focus mode, watching diet close and a lot of exercise...

I'm interested! I'm in the four week BL challenge right now but it is already half way over and I'll need a new one! And its perfectly timed - right up to spring break!

BL is HARD, this one you work into a little more. There's dvds that are from the leaders of the show, I have three of them to use, plus other activities I do for variety. The Biggest Loser cookbooks are good, I got them from the library then just bought them, the latest of a family cookbook with budget friendly recipes. I'm reading the pyramid again, what to eat and when. On this plan you cut carbs some but it seemed more balanced then other diets... in the main book there's stories and tricks on what helped the biggest losers lose. I figure if these are the top selling diet books and exercise books then there must be something to it. I've tried some of the recipes from before and they are great. Hope some others join us. We could do it as a challenge contest?

How about we prepare the rest of this week? I'm studying the food pyramid and program right now and am trying some recipes, they are great. How much is everyone wanting to lose a month? I'm going to get in "big loser" mode here going for 5-8 per month for three months, total of 15-20 I'm hoping...

I haven't read the books or seen the dvd's but I'm definitely interested. I watch the show and love a good challenge. I'll check out my library and see what I can get my hands on, then go from there.

There's the main diet book, a fitness book and the cookbooks, plus the workout dvds. My library even had two of the workout dvds but then I bought them.

Count me in. I haven't logged in this site in probably over a year. I've lost and gained quite a lot since then. I found that I did actually lose with the support of this site and these types of challenges. and I LOVE the show Biggest loser.

My goal is to lose twenty pounds by the end of this challenge... but any weight loss is good.

Good luck to everyone!

Ok has everyone read the diet plan/pyramid for the Biggest Loser Dieting plan? In the book it outlines how many calories to eat for your height and weight. Mine is about 1250-1300 right now. And it's divided into:

Extras - 200 calories
Whole Grains - 2 servings per day
Protein - 3 servings per day
Fruits & Veggies - 4 servings per day

I'm doing Calorie King to count calories, but most here at this site are on fitday it seems. We are allowed one cheat "meal" per week on this plan, someone invited me to dinner last night so mine is done for the week!

Okay, I got the book, so I'm ready to go. I'll be reading it as I go this first few days. I haven't couted calories in a LONG time, so I hope I don't get frustrated doing it.

to all who have signed on: Neesy, horsey, JamieJo, princess, and macomer.

Princess-are the WW cookbooks pretty good? I need practical recipes that my kids might eat, not some of the crazy diet ones that have foods I've never heard of in them! I eat a good variety of foods and my kids aren't super picky, but I'm not competing for a job on the food network. I just want to feed my family a healthy meal!
