Hope you are having a great day! I am really tired, but from time to time it seems I have this weird kind of insomnia that is menopause related where I dose and wake and dose and wake all night long. I would be better off staying up all night. Boy did I go over fat last night! I was trying to figure up my stuff and came out ok with me cal but the fat kicked me in the butt! I was afraid of that, but today is another day and I will get out in that pool and work it off again.
I got a free 2 night stay at one of the casino hotels! Actually what it was for is my birthday so dh and I are going to go down there for the weekend the end of August. It is a really nice hotel. We have stayed there several times before, but it is so much nicer when it is FREE! I also got a coupon for $15 in cash as a gift. That will take about 3 minutes to be sucked down the slot machine! :lol:

Hi all! I am so excited this morning, I have this pair of low rider jeans that I used to wear last summer and I have not even been able to button them for like the past 8-10 months, and this morning I thought "ah what the ****" so I put them on and not only did they fit but they were actually a little loose, I ran in to show my husband - he really didnt care at 6:15am - so I will show him in the evening ;)
As far as pounds go I am 16 down from a month and a half ago and am 1 pound into Faye's challenge, need 9 more by 8/31 :cool:
For points yesterday, I get 3...I was on program, and drank all my water, no exercise though, I tend to just exercise everyother day for now...I rotate treadmill and the Walk Away the Pounds DVD.
Congrats Faye! Very impressive, down 5 pds this week!! :cp:

I dont have loss to report because I am not scheduled to weigh in until 7/24 when I have my Dr's Appt. Then I am scheduled to see the dietician on 8/7 and will weigh again at that time!

OK good morning and congratulations to all you girls out there!!!! Your losses are just awesome.
I get all my points for yesterday for staying unde 1300 cal, exercise and water. However I have some bad news to report. Seems that the scale is holding steady. The gym scale (the "real" scale) says I'm at 153...when at home I'm usually at 148-149. So...I'm holding steady if not gaining a pound. I know that is probably a result of the weight training at teh gym...but it is a little disheartening. However, I've only been doing my 1300 cal program for two days (today is #3) and it takes time. I am going to really buckle down this weekend and be good.
Some good news...I may be going to the shore next weekend as my friend's godmother has a house at some shore point...so FREE weekend! YES! LOL
Anyway, again, Faye, Carri, Debbie and the rest on your losses. I am very proud of you ladies!
Debbie - As we are the same weight and height (except you are a few lbs. lighter) I was wondering ifyou could spill the secrets of your diet plan..or eating plan as it may be. I'm trying to stay under 1300 cal...how about you? Any good foods to recommend and/or tips?

Well, laid back down, did the same thing and now feel like crap! I crack myself up. When I sleep I dream about CLEANING and cooking food! No kidding! My sisters were in my house (some other one because there was sand all on the floor) and they kept messing up the sweeping I was doing. Then in another dream I was trying to make zabalone (can't spell it let alone make it!) and I had made a mess of the kitchen trying to make this stuff and my sister (she was being a pest in my dreams!) was bugging me about her grandson and what he had done in the doctor's office and I cut myself on the electric can opener (what the H did I need a can opener for that is an Italian custard dessert?) and got mad because my kitchen was still a mess and I couldn't get the custard to set up right!
NOW ONTO REAL LIFE!!!!

Grats Faye on the 5 pounds, and Satine on the pants! doesn't that feel SO good? :) Awesome on the 2 Honeyrose, and for Missy on maintaining, don't you hate other scales sometimes? I would ignore the gym scale and stick to the one at home that you have been using :)
I get 1 for water yesterday, and 1 for excercise, and only 1 for OP... I ate a rice crispie treat which put me 2 points over my WW points =P
so I guess that's 3, still good :)
I weighed yesterday, and I am 4 from goal, which I have hit many many times, then get back up to being like 7 from goal. So my goal this weekend is to either STAY at 124, or get to 123 or 122, but not get over 124. :) I am going to be good damnit!
So fabulous friday, well it's HOT HOT HOT here... it was 102 yesterday, and it will probably be that today, and dry dry dry. But anyhow, I wore a cute little skirt, and a tight black shirt that laces up at the bust... so I feel like I am having a cute day, and since it's fabulous friday, it sorta fits to tell about it :) I also got a new ankle bracelet a week ago, and I wore that with my skirt, and it shows off my dragonfly tatoo on my ankle nicely.. hehe. I got this tattoo 2 yrs ago, and never would show it off because I refused to wear shorts or skirts when I was heavier, dumb I know. But now, I am in this skirt, liking the way it looks, so TGIF! =)

Hello again. Good afternoon!
Missy, what seems to be working for me is a combo of several things. I put on weight because I am inactive. So, I now walk walk walk every day. I try to keep my goal reasonable and walk at least a mile.. but I have been keeping right at 2 miles. Hopefully once I build a little endurance I can start my taebo tapes (after I knock 6 inches of dust off of them heehee).
As far as food.. I am slim fasting in the morning as I am not a morning eater. Depending on my appetite at lunchtime, I either have another slim fast, a lean cuisine, or a salad with 'light done right' dressing. For dinner, I usually stick with healthy things. Boneless skinless chicken (small portion usually grilled), fish, brown rice, fresh veggies steamed, whole grain pastas if I have to have pasta. Desserts (when I do have dessert) consist of fresh fruit sometimes with nonfat coolwhip or yogurt as a topping. I also love wheat germ sprinkled on it. I hate starving myself and I refuse to do it. I have found if I just have a very small portion of something I really really want.. that I do not feel so denied. If I feel denied I get frustrated, I give up and I binge. So I avoid denying myself and usually a few bites is enough to keep me satisfied. I just try to compensate by walking a little more, or adjusting my calories by only having a large salad for dinner.. etc. My problem is with nighttime eating. I keep carrot sticks, celery and other fresh fruits and veggies already prepared for snacking. I also do most of my water after noontime. I have my own personal goal to drink 100 ounces of water per day.
So far its been working for me. I plan on trying some of those new slimfast desserts because I have a horrible sweet tooth. I figure a few times a week wouldnt be too much.
I also avoid caffeine. I am not a coffee drinker but my weakness is soda. I only allow myself 2 cans of diet coke per day.
I stick with whole grain breads.. and very little of them. I also avoid lots of starchy foods like potatoes. I avoid mayo, butter, etc and replace with nonfat mayo - kraft makes a decent one, and spray kind of I cant believe its not butter. Avoid fried foods.
Jeez I have written a book! Sorry to those who are bored :)

Hello...this is my first time to post, but I have been lurking for almost a year. A little shy I guess you could say. Anyways about me, I am 27 soon to be 28 and the very proud mother of 2 boys. I am not sure about what I weigh, but the last time I went to the Dr it was about 180 and I am 5'5. So I am not real sure about a goal weight, but I think that it may be around 150, I just basically judge by how my clothes fit.
I guess that is enough for now

awwww cute little kitty! hehe , I love cats, my old cat used to always sit on my lap as soon as I took a seat anywhere, she would hurry and curl up there. I miss that kitty! :D
Faye, I have always had skinny ankles.. I gain weight in my back, stomach, BUTT/THIGHS! , and breasts. And my lower leg is always thin..I think it looks incredibly funny :) I am currently trying to make my lower legs BIGGER by working them out, while thinning out the top part. I just had a homemade meatloaf sandwich for lunch, the meatloaf was about 3 oz, and I am thinking that it was probably not the best choice, it was ground round hamburgar, I dont know how fatty that is, but I had nothing but grapes with it, ah well...I will try and look it up in the calorie book later...

Debbie, thank you so much for the tips and tricks. I like to vary things up a little and tat way I don't get bored. I am not a breakfast person myself, but have gotten into the habit of eating oatment at my doctors advice (more for it's protein and the fact that is actually REMOVES cholesterol) and I actually like it. It's best with some fresh fruit added on top...like peaches!
Baby Step #13877 - LOL Here at my office, fridays we always get fast food. Well today, I entered my calories so far into the fitday calculator and then I went to McD's website and they have a VERY handy feature where you can create custom meals an they tell you the nutritional (or lack thereof) value of everything you eat. So I got to have a double cheeseburger and a side salad for 500 cal. Not too shabby. I know it's not the best, but like Debbie said...I don't like to deny myself. But at least I gave up the fries. They are my FAVORITE part of McD's.
I'm kicking butt today and I've got 300 cal left to eat! rock on!

Anyone know of a little calorie calculator or something thatyou can take with you? Cost, where to buy, etc.?

Sorry I haven't checked in until now. Yesterday, I had the job interview and it went very well. They will let me know by early next week.
Got all my points for yesterday. I was really thinking about not practicing my dance as I was feeling sluggish but I made myself do it anyway. =)
It is very near TOM so I am feeling bloated and swollen so no loss to report today.
Today I haven't done my weight training or dance practice. I am tired. Daughter called me up at almost midnight having a panic attack and I didn't get back to sleep until about 3am. I have been eating OP and getting my water though. I am going to psyche myself up to do the exercise. =)
Faye: What an interesting dream! Dreams feel so real when you are having them. =) 5 pounds this week! Awesome! Bet it feels great!

Well so far I have been doing well. We did go to Cracker Barrel for lunch today. I was good and got a sliced turkey breast (actually off a roasted turkey) sandwich on whole wheat sourdough. Got the tomato, lettuce, skipped the cheese and skipped the mayo. Dont laugh, but I take my own packets of fat-free mayo with me! Ok ok, I also take my own dressing. A few restaurants here offer them with their food and I always grab several for occasions like this! Also I skipped the fries and opted for a plain house salad with no cheese to go along side the sandwich. Tonight I'll have lean cuisine for dinner so I can stay under my calorie limit.

Just got home from work a little while ago, had dinner. I hate eating this way, but when I wrk 12-8p I have to take a lunch break at 3p and if I dont eat when I get in it is bfast the next am before I have anything, cant do that, because for sure I would falter on my program and get up in the middle of the night and go and scarf down everything in the kitchen..cant let that happen. Anyway, I had grilled fish and rice and grilled veggies, & green beans. good food day today on other two meals.

SATURDAY: Today is Sunny Thoughts Saturday so share something funny, encouraging, you name it to make us smile or laugh!
I only got 2 pts for yesterday :high: as we went out to dinner and dh got an awesome blossom and I didn't keep my fingers off it! That is gonna cost me a lb or two for sure! I'll just have to put in some extra at the pool if it doesn't storm today like it is supposed to.
Here are my :sunny: thoughts: We are not perfect and may slip and fall and possibly do it often. BUT when you have a group of people like you ladies who can come together and discuss failures as well as successes and encourage each other as you have been then you have success already! Not measured in lbs or inches but in friendship and compassion and caring!
I hope the LADIES who have been staying away because they think that to come and let us know they are having trouble is whining are WRONG! YOU COME HERE AND LET US ENCOURAGE YOU AND HELP YOU OUT NO MATTER WHAT THE PROBLEM IS! We are all so very different that one of us surely has an answer to your problem whether it is snacking, not really having a good attitude, exercise, water, or the taxman!:( :lol:

Getting ready to go walk as soon as I finish chugging down my lunchtime slim fast.
Well I always love saturdays, because I don't have to get up early for work, and I don't have to leave 2 kids behind for the day. I get to sleep in a little and spend some time with them around the house, and they are the source of my sunshine no matter what's going on my life, kids don't even realize how much power they have over people to induce huge smiles :D
So, yeah, last night... my husband got them some pizza for dinner, and I had already eaten a VERY light dinner to stay within my calorie range, so my stomach was feeling a little empty, and I could have handled it but when I smell pizza.... !!! ahh! So ate a piece, and the crust off my sons piece... so I guess you could count that as 1 1/2 pieces, and I don't even want to calculate the calories on that one :P
So as soon as I get my butt in gear (it's only 9:40 here), I am going to get on that treadmill and make up for that, I was so much on the right track before that !

Tonya: You didn't tell me how many pts for yesterday? Enjoy the kids today. When my two were little (they were 4 years apart) they were wonderful. They would get up Saturday and make themselves some cereal and watch cartoons and let us sleep in. Big brother was pretty good that way, but he was a terrible tease to his sister and his sister to this day hates to be teased so of course he teases her horribly, but she fights back pretty good! :lol:
I am including a delicious homemade and easy salad dressing that is not low or no fat but I would rather have some dressing and fat than not eat salad. You may be able to fool with the recipe and lower the fat and calories by using Splenda instead of sugar and maybe cutting down on the oil and adding more vinegar though I don't know how that will effect the consistency or taste. Anyway, do with it what you will. It is really delicious if you like western/ oil style french dressings! (fyi to readjust cal: 6 TBl= 1/4 cup so if you substitute or cut down you should be able to do the math and figure out your cal. I included what a tablespoon of each ingredient was cal and or fat cal wise to help you out)
Dramma's Western Dressing (dramma is what my sister and I called my grandma when we lived with them in high school)
3/4 c salad oil (I use canola) (95 cal a tablespoon and 95 fat cal)
1/2 c sugar (45 cal a tablespoon no fat cal)
1/4 c catsup (15 cal a tablespoon no fat cal)
1/4 c vinegar (none)
1/4 tsp salt (none)
1/4 tsp paprika (none)
1/4 tsp celery seed (none)
1/4 tsp grated onion (none)
Mix in a shaker and chill (shake well before serving)
1 TBl = 91 cal and 72 fat cal Makes 10 oz of dressing it.
Let me know if you ever try it and what you think! I just washed out an old salad dressing bottle and put it in it.

oh, so yesterday I got 1 for water, and maybe 1 for excercise, since I did tell my husband that his punishment for bringing pizza home was that he had to help me work it off... so I did burn some calories... hahahahah! *insert devilish face since I don't know how* :D
my kids are 6 and 3, so my 6 year old will sometimes get cereal for herself and her brother, which is nice. they got up at 8:00, and I didn't roll out of bed until 9:15 :)
Faye, your salad dressing looks good, I love salad dressing. One of my favorites is just Kraft Free Italian, I dunno how they did it, but they made a very good fat free italian in that one :) anyhow, I will have to try that out sometime, thanks.

Hi everyone and happy Saturday. Having a good day so far. Got some new summer highlights this morning and I'm looking goooood. LOL
I have some personal bad news I just discovered. I was forgetting to count some of my calories in drinks...i.e. hot tea with my 3 sugars. :( So I was actually a little over the past few days...no more than 100 calories, but still. :( I feel as though I have failed a bit and don't deserve Fay'es bravos! :( But yesterday I had only popcorn for dinner so I was only over by like 30 cals.
But the thing I have learned was that drinks count too...so I gotota keep an eye on that ya know? Today I've been good so far and have logged about 245 cal, leaving me plenty (hopefully) for a nice dinner out!
Anyway yesterdaay I guess I get 3 points since I was a little over on cals. Hope you all have a great night. Check in later!

Morning all, it has been a lazy one for me this morning,
yesterday I got 1 point, and I feel sort of bad for it, but I just had to have those Arby's curley fries with the cheese sauce, put me over on my fat and my calories, and no exercise, just my water
so 1 point....BUT
My sunny thought for Saturday is that today is a new day and I have to choose to stay OP, and I will do it!!!
My husband left early this morning for Chicago with a friend so it is just me and the dog this morning, enjoying some quiet time, got my hair up in a bad ponytail and still have on my pajamas,
and I am enjoying it!!! ;) :lol: :D

Heres the lowdown....I came home yesterday and hubby said i could go get my new computer if I wanted, so about 5:00 my son and I head to staples, so since yesterday afternoon I have been putting all the stuff on this computer...and I still have lots to do. Now If I were one of those experienced computer people, which I am NOT!! I would have realized I could have done this much easier, but oh well.
So yesterday I did stay on plan, and get this....I drank my water. No exercise really, so no point for that.
Today~:cbg: everything seems to be finding its way in my mouth. But my Saturday Sunny thought is....tomorrow is another day....:p
I should really do personal replies, but I am so far behind now so please forgive me for not doing so. But I have read and I know all that is going on, so hope that counts....LOL

Sunny Saturday! Well it is Sunny here and w-a-r-m!! And it is sunny because I just got off from work!, and I dont have to be back till 7a tomorrow, that is a long break for me! (on the weekends any way) It is also a sunny Saturday because I have this to look forward to, it it the first thing I do in the morning and when I get home from work, I catch up with my gal pals!! thank you all so much for being here!

This am I was up walking away those pounds by 5:30am, excited about weighing in on thursday of this wk. never thought I would be glad to go to the DR!! Then my appt with the nutritionist is the following wk and I get to weigh in again!! I'm psyched can you all tell! been working hard at it, and weighing in and seeing the #'s go the other way for a change is a wonderful reward in and of itself! :cb: :dance: wanted to add that while at work today, the girls were having treats from the corner coffee shoppe, and I just said no thanks, and had my bottle of water, cant tell you all how freeing that is to be able to make good choices for myself...quite exhilirating! they are supportive and have made positve comments about my progress, they offer because they dont want me to feel left out, but, I am perfectly content with my fruit and low fat snacks, and every time I turn it down, it only makes me stronger the next time!! :cp: :flow1:

We do have a lot of Indiana people here including ME! I was born and raised in a little town just south of South Bend. NO, I am NOT a Notre Dame fan! My dh is a big time IU basketball fan and Bobby Knight fan. His office is painted Crimson and Cream and there is IU stuff all over it including an autographed photo of the man himself. BK sometimes gets a bad rap. I don't get into it with people regarding his coaching style pro or con, but when it comes to doing things for people he is great. I wrote him and ask him a few years ago if I could get an autographed photo of him to give to my dh for our 25th wedding anniversary. I sent it a good 3 months in advance and wasn't sure I would ever hear anything. I also told him I would be willing to make a donation to his favorite charity for the photo. Just a week later I had the photo and he did autograph it, saying "Best Wishes, Jack , Bob Knight. My dh just happened to go out to the mail with me that day so got his present early, but he was thrilled to death. Anyway, my plans for his birthday this year is to put up an IU border and IU curtains and finish his room.

I was telling Peek I have been having some real problems sleeping lately so I have been pretty exhausted and I wanted to do something to make up for yesterday and that D(*&^ Awesome Blossom (actually it is the sauce that kicks my butt! I could care less about the onion!). Anyway, I got this bright idea to work out longer and did about an hour and a half and now I am really dragging, but it is too late for a nap!
Hope everyone is having a nice afternoon. I just went and ordered about $300 worth of clothes from the Lane Bryant catalogue in a smaller size so we will see if they fit! I am keeping them anyway and getting into them. I am sure the tops will fit, but I have a BIG butt! I got some of the cutest stuff and another swimsuit that was on sale and pretty cool, yellow, black and white maillot with the clip style back to keep my straps in place! I bought 2 new pair of shoes and 3 pantsets, 2 dresses and some summer tops and capris. It is a good thing I have such a sweet husband or I would be out in Texas chopping cotton to pay for this stuff! :lol: (Course even they probably wouldn't hire me! :lol: :lol: )

Almost time to turn in, but wanted to pop in and say goodnight...stuck in a little more activity tonight, I went and walked at a nearby fitness park, it was just about dusk, and a bit cooler...the park was lovely! I walked about 10-15 mins. So that is one mile this am using the watp tape and a few more mins tonight..not sure of the distance. The park has two tracks, and I walked the inner one...without stopping!!:strong: :jig: :cb: :cp:

Ok, girlies, that is the poll today! What do you do?
I can't answer just one as I have done a bunch of them depending on the situation, I have told them I don't have any, given them money if I think it is plausible they need it, offered to get them food or in the case of one guy who said he wanted money for bus fare I offered to pay for his city bus (which was not what he wanted! so I said no), and ignored them if they are people I know are panhandlers. We had this one woman when we lived in Indiana that would sell flowers to people in the parking lot, "to help feed her children." Come to find out, she was UGH-stealing flowers off the graves at the cemetary and didn't have any children! She frequented this one, all you can eat restaurant, and the next time I saw her, I let her have it! I told her off but good and sent her running as I threatened to call the cops!
My points today are a blah as yesterday! I was feeling so tired that I did not stay on program at all but ate what was fast which was fat laddened! So I GET: :high: for points!

For my points yesterday.. well I started out with good intentions lol. I got one for exercise and one for water. A dear friend of the family came for dinner and it was also his birthday. I baked a cake - devils food with coconut pecan icing.. and I just had to have a piece. Then I ate 2 helpings of baked beans.. which are loaded with brown sugar and bacon.. so I went over my calories by so much that I dont even want to admit it.:o I did resist the chocolate milkshakes that DH made later that night and opted for a diet coke instead.
Congrats on the new clothes Faye! I cant wait to go completely redo my wardrobe. Right now I wear whatever I can fit into.
pjk- Relax a little today.. you are always so busy busy! I hope you can find a few minutes for yourself :)
Poll: Usually I just tell them, Sorry.. I dont have it to spare. I got burned once by a guy about 10 yrs ago when I truly didnt have it to spare and I gave him 10$ of my grocery money which was only a sad 35$ to begin with. I have never been able to forget that as times were very hard for us and my kind-heartedness was taken advantage of. Thank goodness life is 100 times better than it was back then.. you may forgive, but you never forget those that kick you when you are down.
On the same note.. if I know someone is hungry.. I will certainly feed them. Maybe not give money.. but I will offer them food. I also remember what its like to be hungry and have nothing to eat (I had a very hard life when I was younger) and I would never ever let someone go hungry if I can help it.
Lucky for me we live in a very small town and you never see beggars or homeless on the streets. I'd never make it in NYC.
Today is my lazy day. Going to head to church.. then take the kids to the park after lunch. Ive already done my walk.. and debating on getting out the taebo tapes. I have really been feeling great lately. Besides.. I need to taebo-off that chocolate cake!

As for what Debbie said, I have done the same thing. I have given people money I could not afford and then watched them walk to someone else with the same sob story to get money out of them. We have one guy here that at least is honest! He stands on the corner with a sign that says, I just need money for a beer! DH and I have a policy about giving to family or friends when they need it. We NEVER loan money. If we can't afford to give it to you free and clear, we just don't give it. Nothing is worse than hard feelings when someone doesn't pay back no matter what the reason so we feel if there are no strings attached we won't lose friends or have family troubles. One thing did happen about a year ago that makes me feel kind of bad. We gave one of our siblings $300 for groceries (this family makes $90,000 a year btw but didn't have any grocery money) and they went and spent a small amount on groceries and the rest going out to eat, buying their grandkids a couple new outfits, etc. BUT, I gave them the money free and clear and they have to live with the fact they used it for another purpose than what it was intended for and I would do it again. Like you, there were times where money was to tight we were eating a box of hamb help, with a 1/2 lbs of burger and a can of biscuits for four people, two growing children. I never want to go back to that again and don't want anyone to have to go through that.
Everyone have a great afternoon. I am going to try and nap and see if I can get back to feeling normal. I did get out in the pool for my workout today and that was nice even though it tired me out a lot. DR says it is menopause related so I am just trying to hang in there!

I would say I don't have any, and that would be the truth, haha. I am usually broke, and I never carry cash, and I am not going to write some stranger a check. I am also usually in a hurry, so going to an ATM to get them money just isn't me ... ;)
so yesterday I did something major!!! I was SO good, on a saturday too! and at around 9pm, my husband wanted some Carl's Jr. We were watching movies, and he was wanting some... so I went and got him a big fat cheeseburger, and fries, and my kids wanted some chicken nuggets. God, I wanted some bad food so bad, but I had already eaten soup for dinner, and was at 21WWP, and 1000 calories, so I knew if I did it I would hate myself today. So, I got a 99 cent garden salad, came home, put some Kraft Free Italian on it, and sat there while my family ate all that good good good food, and I ate my salad, and enjoyed it. I had to at least taste his cheeseburger, but what's one bite ? :) I also had about 9 french fries is all. That was so major, usually when I get to that drive through, I say "screw it" and I order something good.
I also did all my water yesterday, for the most part stayed on program (the bites is all I did bad), and I excercised on my treadmill at full force the whole time :D
I was pretty proud of myself, I fought hard.
Today is going well so far, I had 3 pancakes with spray butter and lite sugar free syrup, one glass of skim milk, and 2 cups of coffee with fat free creamer. I am at 10 WWP just for breakfast, but it's 11:30, I slept in, so I could just do a snack around 1-2, and eat a good dinner and be ok for today =)
Have a lovely sunday ladies, I am off to do some more housework :)

I am having a moment of weakness. I am starved and there is a gallon of ice cream in the freezer along with 3/4 of that chocolate cake still left.
Its all I can think about. Its almost 3 pm and another 3 hours until dinnertime. I've tried cleaning to occupy my mind, and I have been outdoors.. which only made it worse. So here I sit with a huge cup of ice water. For breakfast and lunch I had slimfast (440 cal total today)
Any tips on how to get past the weakness? Usually I just take one small bite to satisfy myself but today I really do not want to eat even a bite until dinner time because I did give in last night. I do not want this to become a habit.
For now I will sit here and read and hope and pray that this feeling passes without me giving in to temptation. :stress:

Honeyrose...just take a breath!! and a moment before you take that first bite!! Ask yourself, do I really want this, or do I want a healthy body mind and spirit, am I willing to sacrifice all I have accomplished thus far for a "temporary" sensation!! ask yourself this, and by the time that you think about your reasons for getting healthy in the first place, your craving and that temptation will have most likely passed! you can do it! I have faith in you..we all do!:nono: :grouphug:
Staying on program today, didnt do the walking tape this am, but I think I will go back to the park this evening around 8:30p, last night was cool and felt great to be outdoors! It is amazing how accomplished I am feeling just by doing that "next right thing" for myself!!;)

Looks like my Cubbies are going to win big today, 13 to 1. Yahoo! I am really looking forward to going to the game in Sept. I hope it is pleasant not too cold or too hot. I doubt it will be too hot as Chicago should be cooling off by the time of the year.
I am making pot roast and carrots for dinner tonight. I don't know how smart that was, not because of calories but the HEAT! It is really hot and humid here and boy does the oven heat up the living room because my kitchen and living room open up into each other. I made a retreat to upstairs for a few!

My salad sure was great tonight and after counting up all my calories, I still have just over 200 left. Might come in handy for that late night munchy feeling. Nice to know I can still have a banana, an apple, or even a small baked sweet potato and not go over my limit. Right now I feel good though, so hopefully I wont need it.
I coaxed the kids into eating the guacamole I made up (thinking it was healthy) I found out 1/2 an avocado has 170 calories!! Yikes! My dip has 6 whole ones in it.. I dont even want to go there! Kids love it though and its already gone :)
Faye.. stay cool! I havent had a pot roast in ages because they do heat things up so badly.
Hope everyone is doing well on their programs! I managed 10 min of Tae-bo (Billy Blanks knows how to work you!) and then I just had to sit down. 10 min is better than 5.. and maybe tomorrow I can do 15.

Money poll: I would have to think about it I guess. If it was someone who was asking for money for food, I guess I would offer to get food for them. If it was a panhandler I would pass them buy. If it were a person known to be a drunk I would pass them buy. But as that song kinda goes about what if god put one of his angels down here as one of those people to test us? Oh so much to think about. I think to deep sometimes I think.
There are times I have helped friends in need and I hope that that is the right thing to do. I don't have a lot, but always seems no matter how down and out you are that there is always someone with a worse story than you. Wow Faye, you got me really in deep thought here.....

Deb I am so proud of you for not giving in to that temptation!! you made it until dinner, I knew you could do it!

I went to bed early and slept well, I knew I was pretty weary when I didnt wake up often...I am usually in the bathroom several times during the night...wonder why:?: speaking of water, yesterday when I went to the store I got some, and when I got ready to put it up on the ck out counter thought it felt heavier! It was the 33.8 oz bottles! whew! is somebody trying to tell me something?? I couldnt possibly drink anymore..I am up to 10 glasses a day everyday!! I feel like I am floating!:D
Faye, Sandy, Tonya, have a good day...thanks for being a source of continous support and encouragement. I know I will be successful this time, because I have all of you! I think it would be great to see each other face to face and have a few days of good ole girl fun together. I believe, Peek lives the farthest away so we would have to try and work that one out. If everyone has a lot of time to work on it, maybe we can all get together. I will let you know as I can get the info! Think about it and tell me honestly whether you would be interested or not. wrk sch this wk you asked...today 12-8p off tues/wed, two consecutive days, yippeee!! thurs 12-8 Friday 12-8p and Saturday 11a-7p-probably 7-3 sunday or 11-7. not quite as crazy this wk, no early morning shifts to contend with so far, that helps.!;)

OK good morning everyone!
My points for the weekend are...
0 for saturday (a nice big dinner at a microbrewery...and of course I had to sample the selections ;))
2 for Sunday (exercise and water) and of course a big Olive Garden dinner.
Anyway, today will be an OP day for me!!! I cut out the milk in my oatmeal and replaced it with water. I also picked up some slimfast snack bars at wal mart yesterday. They are sooo yummy and 120 cal, 4g fat. Idon't know what that is compared to a hershey bar tho. Prolly just best to eat that LOL.
So I have found some good ways to cut calories and the gym I work out at has these crazy shakes with like 200 cal in them for weight loss, etc. Not that I believe it, but I'm sure they are chock full of vitamins at least. Similar to a slim fast prolly, so I'll have those for dinner. After m kickboxing class..yikes, t hat'll be a challenge.

Well, I am not much in the spirit of Mission Monday, since I don't feel all that well today, no idea why....
but I will certainly try! I get all my points for yesterday, I worked out , and more than usuall too. I stayed on program, and drank 100 oz of water. I also took my kids to the park by our house, for like 4 hours, and they rode their bikes around, and I rollerbladed around.. haha! I haven't done that since I was like 15, I am surprised I didn't fall on my ***. It's a damn good leg workout too ;)
for some reason though, I am back at 126, and can't figure out why. I have been eating a little something every 2-3 hours all week, so maybe I am eating too much, even though I am close to staying in my calorie range and excercising, either that or I built some muscle. *shrug*
Have a good Monday ladies, I should do some personal replies, but I am at work , and have to hurry and do my slacking off, haha! :D

So far so good, oatmeal for breakfast with a fresh peach. No snacks and then a veggie burger w/pineapple cup for lunch. 2 bottles (32oz.) water down, 32oz. to go. ;) Plus I get to have my slimfast snack bar at 3! Whoo hoo, living high on the hog LOL.

Oh fyi a gram of fat has 9 calories so you can kind of figure that a slimfast bar with 4 grams of fat (36 fat cal) is a little over $25% fat so you are ok there!

OH, btw, you guys have to go to Tonya's thread and see how gorgeous she and Debbie are! Adorable children too!
Regarding the reunion: Tonya and Peek are the farthest with Utah and Maine. The one place I know a lot about is Chicago which would not be bad for everyone but you two. Southwest airlines has a hub there and I think, Peek they fly into Boston so you might be able to get a cheap ticket. Tonya, you would have to check about anywhere in Utah as I know NOTHING about it. Missy, you might be able to get a good flight out of your nearest big city in PA. Let me know if you have an idea of where might be good. I also thought of St Louis, but I know nothing about what is there to do! We have lots of time as I would like the earliest to be towards the end of next summer and the latest maybe late spring of 2005 to give everyone time to have money for tickets, hotel etc. Anyway, it is just a thought!

Tonya.. try not to feel so bad about the 126. I weighed this morning as soon as I got up and I was at 153. So I gained back the 2 lbs I lost last week plus an extra pound. Its so frustrating when you try so hard and see the scale go up anyway. I know one piece of cake and a few spoons of baked beans couldnt equal 3 lbs! I am not giving up hope though.. maybe its water weight. Im not touching that scale again until Friday and I hope its at least back down to the 150 that it was last Fri.
Missy: Way to go with the food! Sounds like you are doing just great. Im slimfasting in the morning and today I had a small salad for lunch. Dinner.. well that still remains to be seen. I plan on picking up some veggie burgers Friday. I tried a brand once that was pretty bad.. hopefully I can find some good ones.
pjk: that bath stuff sounds wonderful! I like the raspberry ones pretty well and have been stuck on them for a few yrs. I need to change to another scent.. maybe I'll try yours!

Well I checked and Southwest flies out of Salt Lake City for anywhere from $159-$300 round trip depending on circumstances and I checked Expedia.com and found Peek you can get round trip from Boston for around $259 round trip. Now, granted, Southwest only books through December right now and I had to pick a date out of the air before June for Expedia, but it gives us an idea anyway. Chicago has several Residence Inns which I have stayed in a couple times. We can get a 2 bedroom with a sofa bed and full kitchen with 2 baths for $174 a night. Now if at least 6 go that is only about $30 bucks a day! These are nice hotels and you can cook in them if you like so we don't always have to eat out! Chicago has some neat things to do like the Museum of Science and Industry, the Shedd Aquarium, Brookfield Zoo, Navy Pier, Woodfield Mall, Downtown Chicago shopping, History Museum, Chicago Art Institute etc.
I need to go and check my laundry and get it folded and put away!

OK...I got my water in already and prollly thensome after I hit the gym at 5:30. Then I'll be getting in exercise and hopefully will have stayed OP. I did a good job today. This assortment of candy was calling my name and I had a Necco wafer (just 1) and 4 sour gummi worms! I just had to have those worms even after I ate the slim fast bar, but I only at 4, so that is an improvement.

Good news!! I made it thru the 8 min workout! :lol:
Oh.. what an accomplishment for me. 2 weeks ago I would huff and puff just walking thru the house because I was so out of shape. Now today I am walking 2-3 miles per day and doing a short taebo workout.
I want to thank everyone here because you are all truly an inspiration to me. I know I can come here when I feel good and share even the smallest of things, or if I am having a temptation I can get some support. You are all the greatest :grouphug:

Hello everyone...Looks like you all had great weekends.
Mine was busy and way too short. We had to go school supply shopping this weekend so that the boys would be all ready for school. So, after pretty much all day out in the heat and think that we are all done, and that makes all of us very happy.
But, other than that not a whole lot going on. Just about to leave work and head to the gym.

I am glad everyone sounds so positive about this! I think it sounds like a blast!
Did anyone watch the Oprah episode or tape it a couple months ago where she had all the people on that lost a ton of weight? There was one man who was the very last one on the show who had weighed 850 lbs. He had destroyed his legs because of his weight, was bedridden, and hadn't been out of his house in like 20 years. He had gastric bypass (was told there was a 60% chance he would die!) and lost like 520 lbs. He looked wonderful. He had gone to Disneyworld for the first time and did several things we take for granted that he had never done or seen. Well, they re-aired the show today and at the end they posted a notice that approx 3 weeks ago he died of congestive heart failure. I know there are a lot of us here that only have 20-40 lbs to lose and do not have these concerns in their lives, only to lose the weight to look better, but I speak for Peek and I now when I say, these are things we have to face in our lives, me more than she! To think that I could be where he is if I am not serious! I weighed half what he did anyway! It should be a wake up call to us all that our health is fragile and we need to protect it and that includes watching our weight. This filled me with sadness that a man who had given up on life and wanted to die, was reborn only to lose his life because of past bad habits! I hope this helps us to stay on program and get ourselves healthy for our spouses, our children and any of those who love us, but most of all for ourselves!

a saying comes to mind, and I don't know who said it or if I have it exact. "it's better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all".
I definately feel sad about that story Faye, but the realization that had he stayed at 650 pounds, he would have died and never experienced what he dreamt of doing. He never would have had what he wanted. At least he went out on top.. yanno ? :)
Also, I know I only have a pidly 4 pound goal, but it's the hardest 4 pounds I have tried to lose since I started this almost a year ago! I am here because of that, but moreso because I know I have a problem. I have self esteem issues, and I love food so much it's scary. I have an addiction that I feel I will have to fight for my whole life, or I will end up back where I started, or even heavier. This is something about "me" that I must accept and deal with. This message board, and the few threads I have found are fun to post on, and I feel welcome on, are helping me realize it's normal to feel the way I do, and it's ok to slip up. whereas before I was doing it on my own, when I slipped up, I beat myself up, let my depressions get the best of me, and somehow my eyes showed in the mirror someone who was 20 pounds heavier than I really am...
I dunno, I am here I guess to talk about these feelings, and also to offer encouragement and advice to those who might feel like asking for it. maybe I can help someone, or make a new friend. There is nothing lost from those things, only things can be gained for me :)

Evening all...Sorry I have not been posting yesterday or today but I threw my back out and have not been able to move since Saturday, here I was doing so well and one night I pushed it to far on the treadmill and the incline of it...I am paying for it now and quite depressed...I know other people have worse to deal with so I will just try to stay positive and heal...although tomorrow I have to go to work and I do not know how I am going to do it, sitting there for 8 hrs when I can barely lay down w/o pain...
Faye I watched that Oprah show today and was very sad when they put that note up about that man passing away...he seemed so renewed and into his life now, looking forward to everything...
it is scary how easily we can gain all this weight and the impact that it has on our bodies w/o us even thinking about it....BUT we are all on the right track and we are going to meet our goals and be healthy!!
Well I will try and write tomorrow if I can...all of you take care

Faye : I also saw todays Oprah. I felt so saddened by that mans death. I know I only have 20 lbs to lose and sometimes I even feel bad for being here because it seems like so little. My heaviest weight ever was 232 lbs so I can understand what a burden it is and hopefully offer support to others while they are working off the lbs.
Tonya.. I also have a deep love for food. Anything fried, sweet, or chocolate is my worst weaknesses. I do not eat for any reason in particular.. its simply a hunger that hits me around 2-3 pm and stays with me until bedtime no matter what I do. I have tried diet pills, various diets.. etc and I still battle the daily hunger. Willpower is the only thing that lets me scrape by and I just take it day by day. I probably will never be able to be thin or maintain my weight without effort.
I wanted to share some meaningful quotes that help to keep me on track, remind me that I am human and its ok to slip back as long as I get back up on my feet again. They remind me I must take everything day by day and no matter how badly I feel.. any accomplishment is still an accomplishment.. no matter how small. As far as dinner.. I had one cup (8 oz) of chicken fried rice and a small salad along with a slice of whole grain bread for dinner. I am well under my calories again and I feel good about it. Every day is a struggle and I am still hungry.. but I am always hungry no matter what or how much I eat. Especially when the hormones are working overtime like they are now. This is my worst time for bingeing.

Debbie, I am the same way, around 2 pm I am like a hunter, wanting to snack, fighting it. I had spaghetti squash and veggies, and 2 slices of lite whole grain bread for dinner. I am hungry still too, which is why I am now going to retreat to folding towels and running on my treadmill to take my mind off of it.

Tonya, No amount of weight to lose is piddly! I hope you didn't take it that way as I didn't mean that. I meant that someone that has under like 40 lbs to lose usually doesn't have major health issues that are caused directly because of weight gain like this gentleman did. He even said when he was talking to Oprah that he no longer had sleep apnia or congestive heart, but yet that is what killed him. When you carry around over 100 lbs you damage yourself irreparably in some way or another. I messed up my knee pretty bad from a fall that happened only because of size and stupidity! I don't care if you have 1 lbs or 100 lbs, it is tough to take it off no matter what! I see these STUPID commercials here where I live about weight loss being easy using hypnotism! What a bunch of bologna! It is hard work because you have to make adjustments in your life, give up things you love to eat, teach yourself how to behave differently and how to look at food in a different way. You have to get your butt up and ride that treadmill, do those tapes, swim those laps, whatever pretty much everyday to make a difference. You have to sit at a party and watch people stuff their faces with cake and high fat foods and either politely refuse any or eat a couple tiny bites. You have to put up with stares, comments, and condesension because people believe if you are overweight you have to be stupid and lazy! Ask anyone that knows me and they will tell you I am about the most unlazy person they know. In fact, I am just the opposite. My obesity has caused me to have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and I rarely sit still. I am up finding work that needs to be done all the time and it is because I fear being judged! To me, if I have dust on my furniture, I will be perceived as lazy! Anything out of place, beds not made, dishes not done, anything at all I am terrified someone will think I am lazy and it all goes back to my size!
There is not ONE lady in this group that is going to fail! NOt ONE! You have the desire and the drive to succeed and every one of us is going to pick up the one who has fallen and carry her until she can walk herself again. We are going to cheer when she succeeds and cry for her when she doesn't. Each of you have the desire to make the quality of life better for yourself and your family. When you get down on yourself and there are times we all do it, you can come here and we will lift you up! Our goal is to make the right decisions about eating and exercising and to bind ourselves together as friends forever, having a common goal! We may go our separate ways, quit posting, drift away and come back, but know this: OUR COMMON THREAD IS WOVEN BETWEEN US LIKE TWINS CONNECTED TO THEIR MOTHER! Well ladies I must say that I do know how everybody does feel. I also have an eating disorder and have been on both sides of the fence, unfortunatly people get the stares and comments if they are over weight or too thin, by others standards. You see when i was in high school, I was really at an ideal weight for my height and bone structure. I was 150 lbs at 5'5 and have an athletic build,but never realized it. Then after high school I got married and put on close to 100 lbs with both of my children. I stayed this way for comfort, and stress. I had a verbialy abusive husband that did not want to work or take care of the kids, so i worked 2 jobs plus taking care of kids. I finally got the nerve to leave and loast much of that weight very quickly. Then soon after met another man, and somehow becane anorexic, and dropped even more weight. My lowest weight was under 100 lbs. And this brings me to where I am today, got rid of that man, and gained about 100 lbs. So know I am struggling with the last part of that weight that I need to loose. I have the greatest supportive BF. We work out together about 3-4 times a week.
And I am pleased to day that when I weighed at the gym tonight I have lost 5 lbs in the last 3 weeks, putting me at 178.5.
This time I am trying to do this the right way. But for me I know I can not get on the scales too often or I will probably be very obsesive about it. So i try for only once a month.
Well I am sorry this is so long,and a bit of a ramble. I hope that it makes sence, but some of these things I have never told anyone else before.
