3X10 adductor machine at 70lbs
45 minute Pilates mat class, with an excessively talkative substitute instructor which cut it down from our usual hour

We were doing the triangle pose and I caught a glimpse in the mirror and was admiring someone's amazing leg muscles (quads) and then I realized I was looking at myself! I always frown upon my legs because they are anything but small, but they are STRONG and muscular!

How true how true , I got back from running 10 miles on Sunday my husband said you are looking skinny...I looked in the mirror and see that I am very lean and muscular {maybe even like Kelly Coffey Meyer who has always been my ideal only I am 15 or more years older!}

As usual-- wise words from you. I tried to look at myself objectively the other day and see what parts of my body I think look alright. I decided that my arms, upper chest/back are fine. It is basically my tummy area that I really don't like..... below the tummy is okay-- not great-- but okay. So, I tried to be the optimist and tell myself that there is more that I like than don't like. Unfortunately, our tummies are always right there and easy to see and criticize.

Again, nothing. I felt worse on Tuesday than on Monday: Exhausted, chapped nose and upper lip, slack-jawed & mouth-breathing, with burning sinuses and a pounding headache behind my eyes.

When I thought of my usual Tuesday exercise session, which lasts more than two hours, I felt like that was accomplished by another person entirely, certainly not by me.

-2.5 miles on bike path, no idea of time, I'm trying to starve off as much as humanly possible for an event this weekend eating like 1200/day if I had to guess and couldn't even run the whole thing. How do people function on this little food?

Ward, isn't it amazing how we can heal if we give ourselves time? I was miserable last week with missing three days at the gym due to the flu, but I don't think it made much difference once I got back. What's giving me more trouble is the high levels of humidity and lack of airconditioning to combat it, since it's not yet hot enough to require running it.

Drenched with sweat all through my routine, I find from a glance at the local weather that the humidity level is at 93%, which explains my extreme discomfort, as the gym's airconditioners aren't running yet. It's that unpleasant combination of cool but extremely humid.

Yuck, saef. They had to bring in dehumidifiers in my gym. Especially in the spin room, at the end of class the floor would be wet from the humidity, creating a very unsafe (and gross) situation.

She said she was inspired by a student there who was paralyzed in both legs! She said the student came 3X a week and tried every pose. Her husband practiced next to her. Wow! Having a hard time letting go of the additional cardio after my lifting session. But I have to keep this up, to see if one hour less of cardio each week is really affecting my weight -- the ostensible reason for my time at the gym -- or if I can let it go & use that time in some other way.
