I'll have to change my ticker... I had a regain earlier this year. I'm back on track now. I'm on high doses of Prednisone right now- but I do hope to get below 200 (AGAIN)
I guess the most important thing is I'm still here and still trying :exercise:

I'm in! Last month I made it almost to my first major could-be-done goal of 165 that I set at the beginning of my journey. It was my low high school weight. Now that I am pretty much there I think I could stand to lose another 30-40 pounds, honestly, but I look and feel quite normal which is excellent news!

Most of this month will be spent maintaining a weight range of 166.0-170.0, with corrections if I end up on either side of that. If I don't end up pregnant this month then I will go for losing some more toward the end of May. Otherwise it is maintenance for a bit.

Hey everyone. I felt like updating you guys on what's been going on since I have been pretty intermittent lately. I'm moving out of the dorm after finals and going to live with my dad's girlfriend Nancy for the summer. She is the one who saw how unhappy and overweight I was and got me signed up with Weight Watchers, so I am forever grateful for her and all she does. She's amazing. I'm living with her for the summer then in August I'm moving into a nice on-campus apartment.

I've added a second major to my degree, public health education. I'm pretty excited. I'm now apart of Baylor College of Medicine's Choice+ huge research team, and will be doing intakes. I'm still running like a beast, and have found a regular running crew on Mondays AND Wednesdays. So I'm maintaining my numerical weight, losing inches, and staying healthy. BP normal, Cholesterol normal, no diabetes, no nothing. healthy! I am happy. :)

I still want to lose weight though, and my hope is that while living with Nancy in the summer I'll have less stress, more space, and have her support because she is also on weight watchers and is actively losing weight.

Sending my love yous guys way...See you in the morning.

This is a BIG month for me. Its the busiest month of my year - Mother's day, 4 birthdays, my anniversary and house guests.

 I'm giving myself the challenge of "running" on my elliptical 27 times this month and logging my calories everyday BEFORE I eat them. I hope to look back on this month and think "if I can accomplish THAT in May, the craziest time of year for us, then I certainly can do it now."

Morning 3FC family

No change for me today... 193.3. I got home later than usual from work yesterday due to some construction along the way. I had just made and started to eat dinner when my landscapers showed up. I forgot that they were coming! I spent almost 1.5 hours with them, got everything decided and confirmed. By the time they left, I didn't get back to my dinner until about 9:30. I shouldn't have eaten that late, but I was starving. On top of that, I didn't get to bed until about 11:30 and for some odd reason I was up at 5. Yikes.

I'm feeling mighty swollen, especially in my hands. They kind of hurt, actually. On the plus side, TOM has gone bye-bye. Yay.

Have a great day folks.

I'm down .2 to 194.2 this morning. This marks my third week of bouncing around the 193-195 region, I believe. Not much I can do about it but keep on keeping on.

I'm planning to take a little longer at lunch today so I can get in a full 45 minutes on the elliptical. Yesterday was strength training (upper body) and the day before that I added the New York City Ballet Workout into my routine. It's a better core workout than I expected; my abs are still sore two days later.

I'm at 220.6 today. Down 1lb from yesterday ... had a SKY HIGH sodium weekend from Saturday through yesterday. I'm going to hit the gym tonight and TRY TRY TRY to keep my sodium under 2500mg. Anyway, hope everyone's WI went well. Gotta fly! :)

Hi Everyone!

Have a great evening and sleep well. I am going to get ready for bed now. See you tomorrow.

Angie She seems to be doing a little better. The big thing is to get her to take her anti nausea meds. A friend of hers is helping out with all of this. She is also going to my Mom's house to make sure she eats. The friend is now calling me on a regular basis to update me. Her appointments for the rest of the week have been cancelled. They want her to gain some strength from being sick. Hopefully, things will start looking up. Great job on the 2.6 pounds.

Good morning everyone! It's a busy day for me today - I've already been at work for a bit to get ahead on a couple of things as I have a day full of meetings. I've also picked up my next French class, which is tonight and I go straight from work. I'm all set though, food-wise, I had my green smoothie for breakfast, have my lunch and dinner packed, as well as snacks to get me through the day. There is really no reason for me to eat anything else because I have it all.

I'm also down 1.2 to 192.1 so I'm grateful for the downwards movement, especially considering the two week trip to Germany is fast approaching. I want to be firmly in the 80s by the time we leave, which shouldn't be too hard to accomplish if I set my mind to it.

Diana I'm happy to hear you're getting help with your mom from her friend, and that the friend is also providing you with updates.

199.8- up .2 today, feeling sore from a 5 mile walk to get a few things from the store.
This is too close to 200 for my comfort zone but I'm doing everything I can, staying in my cal zone, drinking lots of water, getting exercise. I hate beginnings of the month, I have struggled everytime and then get a whoosh the last two weeks. I guess that's how my body works but I don't like it:tantrum:
Since I'm doing the Biggest Loser Challenge on 3FC, I will be making changes to my ticker on Sundays-the weigh in day for that. I'm keeping a journal on there of all my ex. and cal. so it's going to help me not cheat this month!
Angie down 2.6!:cheer3::woohoo::cheer3:
Kukkie happy for u that TOM is over:D
Diana I'm so glad you have someone else helping with your mom! Still praying 4 u guys!
reallystruggling If ur struggling 3FC is the place to be! You will find lots of support. You are starting around the same weight I did-you can do this! I know you just had a gain, but remember our bodies bounce everyday. Most of us are keeping a daily weigh in to know WHY each of us bounces... it can be too much salt, not enough water, a late dinner still sitting in your tummy, sore muscles retain water, TOM on it's way (time of month), the key thing is to see a downward trend over the course of the month;) That will happen if you stay on plan, what is your plan? I'm a calorie counter:write::D

(WHY DID I GAIN???)

I'm up a pound today myself. Sometimes we just bounce up for no good reason; sodium, hormones, humidity...you name it, and it can probably make you retain some water!

I am ovulating right now, for instance, which makes me retain water, plus I had some extra salt and extra carbs yesterday. I'm also on a bit of a plateau, it seems, but that pound up is not permanent. I know it's just a temporary bounce and eventually I will go back down. Someday! You will too; just stick with your plan and exercise your patience muscle. That's the hardest workout of all for me. :D

PghGal
05-02-2012, 05:46 PM
Okay, I'm UP today from yesterday for no freakin' reason. 221.0 ... seriously. I drank a lot of water, sodium was not a problem, calories were 1500 yesterday.

What gives??

I lost four pounds last week, so maybe my body is in retrograde or something. Maybe it was a fluke? Frustrated as you-know-what today.

AND - to make things worse, my A/C went out last night. It's 83 degrees IN MY HOUSE right now, and 90 outside. Yuck. I telework, so I don't even have a cool office to escape to for the day. Oh well.

Hope everyone is having a better day than me!! :D LOL

Pghgal Congrats on the pound from yesterday! Sorry about the A/C! I hope you can get it fixed quickly.

Kifli Hi

Angie Congrats on the 2.6 pounds!

Julz Good job on the 1.8 pounds!

Reallystruggling Hi and welcome to the check-in! It's probably just a daily fluctuation.

Steph Yes, I think my Mom's friend is doing a better job at getting my Mom to take her meds on time and eat, etc. It's different when it's a friend vs. daughter. The big issue was that my Mom was taking one dose AM and one PM. She is suppose to take 2 pills every 4-6 hours. The 2 pills was too much, so my Mom didn't like it. Now the friend has my Mom taking 1 pill every 4 hours. That has made a big difference. I couldn't get that through to my Mom though. :dunno: Good job on saying bye, bye to the 150's forever!

Kukkie Good job on the 1.2 pounds.

Qt You are doing such a great job. Don't get frustrated! Keep up the great work!

Down .4 today -- we had a dinner out tonight and I think I made great choices...I still have 300 calories left in my day if I want them, undecided on that right now.

Diana -- Thanks! That's great that she is doing better and that you have another person to help keep you in the loop.

Reallystruggling -- :welcome:

Steph -- Hope your day was great as well. I think you are firmly in the 140's!

Kukkie -- Are you going to Germany for work or pleasure? When do you go?

Jess -- Sometimes I think hot weather can make me retain more water..maybe that's happening for you with the A/C out?

I'm thinking I have some hormonal stuff going on. I looked at my calendar and it says TTOM should be starting soon. I always get confused because my TTOM lasts so long. 198.4 down 1.4 from yesterday, it's a new low:D the farther I get from 200, the happier I'll be! TOM should be anytime now and I'm really sore from the extra walking/running and being on my feet all evening mixing frosting for my mom's wedding cake... so I'm pleasantly surprised at the drop. Maybe my tantrum can turn into super good food choices, lots of water, and a nice decline in numbers;)

Diana, I feel your pain. My cycles are long too, and when (if; it doesn't always happen anymore) I ovulate that stalls my weight loss as well. Hormones are truly frustrating.

Speaking of which, I'm up another half pound this morning to 195.6. I can feel the water retention, and I figure some of it is hormones, some the onset of humidity here, and some might be stress-related. It would be nice if it would go away, but all I can do is wait it out. Stressing about it certainly won't help.

Have a great Thursday, everyone. At least we're closing in on the weekend!

Hey group!

I'm down another 1.7 to 190.4 :cheer2: Must chug mucho water as we're going out for a work lunch today.

Angie Germany is for pleasure. I have quite a bit of family there on my mom's side and we're going to my cousin's wedding.

Diana my cycle has decided to have a mind of its own ever since I went off BCP, so I never fully know when it's coming, how long it'll stay, or even how long until the next one.

Kelly congrats on the new low!

 Hi everyone!!

I'm back to 219.2 today after 221 yesterday. :dizzy: Weird -- but relieved. That puts me at no loss for the week, which is frustrating, but I did lose 4 pounds last week so I guess the average of 2 per week is okay. I don't feel it matches the level of effort I have put forth though.

Angie, I think you may have been right about the heat & retaining water. Whew! Congrats on the .4 from yesterday. I love the feeling of knowing you made good choices ... be proud!! :)

Diana, thanks! The A/C guy is coming today, but luckily my house has a large attic fan that sucks in the cool air from outside. I used it overnight and my house went from 83 to 71. Oh, and I also agree that the counting shouldn't start until the day you finish. LOL ;)

QT, thanks for the encouragement. I stayed within my calories yesterday even though all I wanted to do was call my buddy Papa John. I guess it finally paid off because I'm back to where I was. Congrats on your new low!!! that is awesome.

ReallyStruggling, keep going anyway! Eventually the scale will cooperate :)

Kukkie, congrats on your loss! That is great!!

Hope everyone else has an awesome day!!

Up .6 to 217.6 today for no good reason...I'll have to blame the dinner out and sodium. I had an on plan lunch out today so I hope that won't cause any damage for tomorrow.

You count the days from the day it started, not the day it ended.

Diana I've always felt that this was totally unfair! Who do we complain to?

Kelly, congratulations on your 1.4 loss today! I know it's maddening to creep back up towards the 2's. Good for you for keeping it under control :)

Kukkie -- Great weigh in, good for you! Germany sounds like fun, when do you go?

Jess -- Congratulations on your whoosh!

I forgot to mention about my anniversary! One year ago, today, I went to my Endo. She is the one that treats my hypothyroidism. She checked my weight, did my exam, gave me a good look over, and crunched some numbers. She asked what I thought about my weight. Then she gave her opinion . . . She thought I was at a good weight and her suggestion was that I try to maintain my weight/weight loss. :yay:

I have been in maintenance for a year, today. I have gone above my maintenance range by a couple pounds only a few times. This was during/after the Christmas holidays. I was also battling a food reaction (allergy). Over all, I am happy with my maintenance. Of course I strive for perfection. Meaning, I would rather not have gone above maintenance range. But, I did have other issues going on at the time (food allergy). So, I do think I have done a good job in this year. ETA: I don't like the way "strive for perfection" sounds. I wanted to clarify my thoughts on this. I am not perfect, nor will I ever be. I know how I am with my eating and my weight history. It is not a good one. I feel I need to keep everything in check or I will get off track. I will take advantage of any little situation that I will allow or that I feel I can get away with. Does this make better sense? ;)

One year down and the rest of my life to go! ;)

199.6-up 1.2 cuz TOM is here:devil: I knew something was up last night when I had my energy plug pulled... all the sudden I just crashed and immediately wanted to EAT SALTY and SWEET! I fought the cravings as hard as I could, just an extra serving of potatoes last night which put me at 1490 cal. for the day. I will fight so hard to not see that 2 again, even with TOM rearing it's ugly head!:tantrum::sumo:
I have to actually back my mom's wedding cake and put it all together today. It sucks cuz I"m all cramped up and exhausted:mad: oh well, it's life;)

Kukkie going to Germany sounds so fun! Down 1.7:cheer2: so close to the 80's!
PghGal oh Papa John... I do miss him, not because I've actually said no to pizza... cuz we don't have one up here! Pizza is my huge downfall, if Mr. Food was my hubby, then pizza was my lover:rofl:

Happy Friday, everybody!

Kelly, good work on the new low! It's nice to have that distance from 200, isn't it?

Diana, major kudos for maintaining for a year. It's truly impressive.

I had a bit of a scare this morning. When I slid my scale out from under the sink to weigh in, one of the batteries fell out so I had to fiddle with it a bit. The when I got on, it read 150 - aarghh. I know I've been eating a bit too much but I couldn't have gained 5 pounds overnight! So I took out all the batteries and recalibrated, and the next reading was 146. Still too high, but that's my fault, not the scale's - unfortunately. Seeing that 150 was a jolt, though. I've got to get back to the plan, stat!

I hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend. Tomorrow, I'm going to a small flea market and then to a local plant nursery that makes gorgeous hanging baskets. And the weather is supposed to be decent, yay!

Diana, I'm glad your mom is doing better. And congratulations on your anniversary! You're a big inspiration to the rest of us.

Kelly, thanks, but my body doesn't usually work that way with whooshes so I'm not getting my hopes up. I keep thinking maybe I'll go back down to 193, but so far I'm still at 195. Oh well. Plus I'm leaving on Wednesday for a girls' trip, so I am just hoping not to gain while I'm gone.

My goal was to be in the 180s by the time I left, but obviously that's not happening. I'm trying not to be discouraged about it all. I mean, I've been at this a long time, and I know how it works. I just get mad sometimes that it's such a struggle for every ounce, because let's face it, I still have a LOT of weight to lose. I can't even think about the fact that I was down to 150 a couple years ago or I get so angry with myself, and that's not helping anything.

Lately I have been covered in these little circular bruises I get sometimes (mostly on my arms and my stomach, but sometimes on my legs too) and usually when I have them I have less energy/more muscle soreness, and water retention. They're still hanging around and so is the water, so clearly something is going on with my system. I've never found a doctor who could give me a clue, though, so I just live with it.

I'm not as crabby as this post is making me sound! I just have to try not to stress about it, and when I get back from my trip I'll reassess. My sister has gone completely vegan and is dropping even *more* weight (she's already a size 6 and two inches taller than me) so maybe I should just let her make up my food plan for awhile. Paleo *was* working great for me...that is, until it stopped.

I hope you're all having a great day. I'm just thrilled that it's Friday, because I have tons to do before I leave town.

Happy Friday

I'm up 0.9 to 191.5. I think it was the sodium in the lunch I had out yesterday. It's okay, I'm going to continue chugging the water today and try to flush it out. I finally have a weekend with no events, but I am going out tomorrow to shop for the upcoming trip so I'll get in a LOT of walking. Our company is also celebrating NAOSH Week next week, and at our corporate office, which is where I work, we're having a walking challenge, so the team I work on has decided to sign up as a team for the challenge! Gotta love that the timing leads right up to my vacation, way to have motivation to stay on plan.

Angie I leave next Saturday (12th) and come back on the 24th.

I’m down the .6 I was up yesterday, so that has all evened out. I brought my lunch today so I’m fully expecting a nice loss for tomorrow (do you hear that weight loss gods???).

Diana – Congratulations on losing 1.4 today; that’s pretty awesome considering you feel bloated! Happy maintenance anniversary!!!! It’s like your healthy-person birthday :D :celebrate:

Kelly – Oh that evil TOM! I’m so glad to see you are still below 200! My .6 washed away, but I am chugging water today just to be extra safe. ;)

Steph – The flea market and plant nursery sound like fun! I’m going to do some gardening this weekend too…it’s a great way to burn calories!

Caroline – Hope you get to distress and relax a bit on your holiday. Try not to let your sister’s results make you feel bad about your own; even though you are sisters you have completely different bodies. I think it’s a good idea to get ideas from anyone and everyone whom you trust and then calibrate that information with what you know you can do and what works for you.

woke up today to 189.8 saw 190.8 yesterday, not good. I thought I'd do better while doing the bus driver training but I guess not. I got that bad tooth pulled on Monday ... I don't know if I told you all that or not so my month is much better. I am getting up 2 hours earlier than I have been and honestly it is killing me. I'm so exhausted. Spent the last three days holed up in my SO's apartment studying and writing for finals. 4 papers later, I've rejoined the world. Unfortunately that means I haven't run since Tuesday, but I'll get something in tomorrow night. Three more finals to go.

Went to WW on Monday and I'm down to 194.4 on their scale. this is my new official low, and I'm thrilled. I'm going to MD Anderson Monday to get my official Research Assistant Baylor badge and I'm going to rooockk this position.

Rennie-how are you doing? I don't know how you do it all. love coming your way

Diana-happy healthy person's birthday!!

Angie-Thanks for the kudos. I am happy and focused. Writing this out tonight I am more personally fulfilled than I have ever been. I thought about what my teenage self would think of me now, or myself as a kid. Would I look up to me? I think I would. lol kinda existential but the point is I am making myself proud. self-love is where it's at.
I KNOW the weight loss gods are listening and you will get the results you've worked for.

Today I was on plan, hoping to see a small loss tomorrow and another for my weigh in on Sunday. Maintaining this week would be awesome, but it's a stretch.

I hope everyone is having a better week than me...

Underwater, hang in there. The extra piece of pizza isn't going to break the calorie bank, after all, so the water weight will come down eventually. I know as well as anyone how frustrating it is, waiting around for water weight to come off so you can start making actual progress again, but that's what we get for being women, I'm convinced. ;)

Angie, I try really hard not to compare to my sister. She's always been the thin one and the pretty one (and it's not like she's dumb, so I didn't even really get to be the smart one!) but her struggles are different than mine. Some days it's hard to remember that, but I'm grateful to have her for support.

I'm down .8 to 194.4 this morning. I feel a little better about that, but I'd love to lose a little more before I leave for vacation. I only have three days, but I'm going to make them the best three days I can.

199.2-down .4 today which is awesome during TOM, if I can keep this up then I should have a beautiful drop when TOM is over. I will have to be really careful at my mom's wedding today. It's just a small gathering so we're going to a resturant for the reception. I will get a salad and some fish. Trying to find something to wear has been a pain, everything is too big or too small except two options... one outfit will be TOO hot and the other is shades of blue/green which will not match her wedding at all (white black and red) oh well, the minister doesn't need to match, right:?:

Diana down 1.2 look at you go! are you actually UNDER your maint. number today? :cp: My mom's cake looks beautiful, but its big so transporting it today will be tricky! I will post a pic of it when I have time to upload and resize :) I managed to finish making it without eating the frosting or any of the pieces of cake left from leveling the layers! Go me!

Rennie! Ouch -- getting up 2 hours earlier is tough at first. I'm glad that tooth is gone, that must be a relief!

Amanda -- You are going to rock those finals too! I think you are amazing, I'd love for Cameron to grow up and be able to claim the same determination and focus that you have.

Minnie -- :welcome:

Reallystruggling -- Keep up with the running, it will help for sure. Do you log your food as well so that you know how much of a deficit you are creating?

Underwater -- Sometimes when I get compliments on my weight loss I make bad decisions too. What's that all about anyway? It's like all of a sudden we think we can eat differently than we have to lose the weight...lol. Hang in there. Sometimes I just get sick of needing to try hard and of needing to lose weight in general, but that's my reality. The best thing I can do is try to make more good decisions than bad and ask myself "does this choice move me closer to my goal?" Doesn't always work, but if I can keep that in mind most of the time it helps me to make the better choice.

Caroline -- Congrats on your .8 today! Good luck with pre-vacation losses!

Diana -- Another 1.2 loss, amazing!

Hi Everyone!

I have been having a craving for fried chicken for about a week now. I don't know why because I rarely eat anything fried. Maybe pending TTOM? I hope that's not what it is. I don't need to crave volume, sweet, salty, and now fried foods during TTOM! Nothing would surprise me though. Anyways, today was my scheduled higher calorie day, so I decided to fry some chicken for dinner. I ate too much! I am so used to eating out and I can do that in moderation. Everything is so much more difficult when I eat off plan foods at home. I haven't figured my calories, yet. :yikes: Anyways, there will be a gain tomorrow from my dinner tonight. I expected one anyways because of TTOM. Today I was feeling like a blowed up toad frog. I seem to have a drop on the scale right before TTOM starts.

QT Congrats on the .4 and for avoiding the temptation of the cake/frosting.

Angie I hope you had a great day.

Morning
Been MIA because the builders took over my place.
Finally managed a weigh in, and I'm up 1.3 lbs, but considering the stress, lack of sleep and large amount of cashew nuts I ate yesterday, I'm ok with it :)
Kitchen goes in finally tomorrow- been three weeks, a huge amount of dust and mess- but I'm excited now. Finally something to look forward to.
You guys are doing great. Congratulations Diana on you yeariversary. You should be very proud of your achievements . Losing the weight is the easy part- keeping it off is the one that requires real focus and determination. It's hard when those cravings come, seemingly from nowhere. I was craving pasta (I still don't eat carbs), but I fought and the pasta lost :carrot: I too am coming up a year of maintenance and have stayed within my range, spiking above just once. I feel proud too that I can do it. We all can, we just need drive and focus and lots of support.
Qpostolic- Congrats on Onederland - it's a great place to be and to stay :congrat:
Off to wash my new, shiny, black granite floor!
Have an awesome day :grouphug:

Happy Sunday! I'm down 1.8 today...so glad I remembered to weigh in before breakfast this time. Not much planned today for activity, we have to go to my aunt's house to help sort through some of my grandmothers things. I think I'll try for a bike ride with Cameron later this afternoon or evening.

Diana -- Oooh fried chicken craving. Can you believe my mother walked in here with a box of KFC at lunch yesterday after I said that I was making nice healthy wraps for everyone? I didn't eat it, but OMG, that smell...I'm surprised I didn't retain water just from being near it.

ReallyStruggling -- ONEderland is when you get a 1 as the first number of your weight :) I'm glad you feel welcome in the group...the more the merrier :D

Sam -- I think you've done pretty well without having access to your kitchen this week!

Good Morning, Everyone!

My calories were a doozie last night and I am up on the scale. It was expected, though. Sometimes when I go over like this I will have another gain the second day. We'll see if that happens. At least I know what to expect. I don't have to be happy with it, but I understand what happens.

Calories for yesterday: 2214 + :coffee:
Weigh In: 145.6
Up: 1 pound

Thistoo Great job on the .8, yesterday! I agree, make the most of the next 3 days, before your vacation.

Reallystruggling So glad you were able to change your ticker! :carrot: Yes, we try to be as supportive as we can of each other. Every day is a new day and a new challenge. Hang in there.

Starbrite Your weigh in is not bad at all! The best thing is that you have the knowledge to know what to do about it! :bravo:

Angie Good on the 1.8 pounds! Ha Ha on the water weight jumping on you! I can totally relate. ;) I hope you and Cameron can go for that bike ride today.

I'm a Beast!:sumo: down .8 today still during TOM! I'm fighting HARD!:boxing: & I"m winning! I was really careful at my Mom's wedding, no crackers with the cube of cheese, no butter on the bread, dipped my fork in the dressing for the salad, only ate a 3rd of the fried shrimp... and then kept so busy SERVING the cake that I only got two bites of it to make sure it tasted as good as everyone was telling me  I kept giving away that cake until it was gone! If someone wanted a box for home, I filled that sucker up!:joker: I'll probly post of pic of it later today, when I have more time.

reallystruggling:bravo: So happy you found our support and encouragement in the thread. The reason we were right is because we are all in it with you! and, yes, Onederland is when that 2 turns into a 1 at the beginning of our weight! I'm fighting to stay in my precious ONederland in spite of TOM (time of month) which usually brings on a few extra pounds of water retention and lots of cravings.

Angie down 1.8! I think you found your IT :) Seems like you're in the zone lately, :yay: I seriously laughed out loud when I read the part about the water ret. jumping on you!

Diana I have a harder time when I'm cooking at home too. It's like, if I cook it then I have to eat it and if there is more left in the pan it needs to be cleaned out... with my mouth:o I've had to keep myself busy cleaning up after dinner, putting leftovers away quickly (have to save them for DH) and if I know I'm doing a home cooked dinner then I make sure to save calories for it.

Starbrite Sorry about the up... I think being sleepy is the worst enemy of our weight! I wish you rest!

kifli usually I go off plan during TOM too, the tiredness and cravings just drive me nuts. this time I have been so terrified of seeing the 2 again that I've been fighting every craving and downing the water like crazy. I haven't pushed the exercise cuz I'm already exausted and if I get worse I don't know if I'll have the fight left in me. I hope May is a great month for you!

Worked out last night and this morning (30 day shred video). Also did a ton of walking today while shopping and running errands, since my hubby said he would watch the kids and to take my time getting some 'alone' time in. I ate out 2x though as a result (a pretzel dog for lunch and an appetizer for dinner), so I'm not sure how many calories I consumed. I'm too afraid to look it up, so I won't. The hard work outs may have been for maintenance :(

I'm going to cut back calories tomorrow to make up for it. That's the plan anyway. Gonna wrestle the hunger tomorrow night!

Kelly - You are amazing! Such a lovely cake you made! I blew it up extra big on my computer screen and took a good look at it ;) I bet it tasted so yummy! You have will power, girl! Awesome job on your Mom's wedding and your weight loss!

Really Struggling - Hooray for you!!! It's probably morning or afternoon for you there? Hope you have a good day today :)

aka - nice job on the 1 pound :)

Star - Did you say granite floors? So cool. I do hope you share pics of your kitchen once they move out of it :) Hope you are hanging in there.

Angie - great job on the 1.8 and showing the Gazebo who's boss!

Diana - I love fried chicken. I can't stop at one piece, so I try to avoid it all together, but it's one of my favorite foods. It's funny how certain foods are comforting. It's silly to say, but fried chicken and orange soda remind me of my mom. These were her favorite when I was growing up. Needless to say, I didn't eat the best while growing up, but I still have fond memories of mom and fried chicken :)
Anyway, I don't know why I shared that, but I got a chuckle when you said you fried up some chicken!
I hope you are getting some good rest tonight (I better stop typing and get some too!)

Down another .8lbs to my new low of 236.4! I've been concentrating on getting in more exercise this week and it shows. Went on a 40 minute hike with a friend today and had a blast. Also tried playing Dance Central on Xbox Kinect. It was fun but also super hard to keep up with the dance moves. Guess I just need more practice. =D

Starbrite and Diana congrats on a year of maintenance!

Angie congrats on 1.8lbs!

Underwater great progress so far! Hope you see another loss tomorrow!

Kelly you're doing great. I bet you'll see a nice big whoosh after TOM.

aka what is C25K?

I am not aka, obviously, but C25K is Couch to 5K, that program that helps you learn how to run a '5K'. (Technically it just helps you learn to run 20 minutes without stopping, so if your speed is slower than a 5K pace you won't be running a whole 5K, but it's a helpful program for starting slowly with running.)

I didn't check in yesterday because I had to be at my sister's house first thing to watch her kids all morning, but I was still at 194.4 yesterday morning. This morning I am back up to 195.2 for no reason whatsoever. I haven't stopped caring, but I've stopped expecting anything to change any time soon. I'm just going to focus on getting ready for vacation, then I'm going to go and have a great time and when I get back I'll reevaluate.

Kelly, your cake turned out really well. I'm sure your mom was thrilled.

Angie, WTG with the gazebo! Nothing like a little girl power to show us how far we've come with our fitness.

Diana, the grocery store rotisserie chickens are my 'indulgence' dinner these days. I wasn't raised on fried chicken, though, so I don't miss it. When I get back from vacation I'm thinking about cutting out meat again, though, so I might be saying goodbye to the rotisserie chickens too!

Congratulations to everyone who's having great losses. You're all very inspirational! Have a great Monday, everyone.

 everybody.. been another busy 1st week of the month :dizzy: plus getting ready for my nephews baby shower which was Saturday. The party started at 4 pm and I found the most perfect dress at 12:00.Even though i already had what i was going to wear :o
This dress was blue(for a boy shower :p) so that meant that i then had to look for the right accessories for that dress :dizzy:I've never had a dress that was so pretty, youthful looking and sexy :D I felt so pretty.:) seems like now i just want to look really good when going to functions or i pay more attention to details IDK..
The best part was that No one said "you've lost a lot of weight" or no weight conversations at all :cp: one lady did ask, when she saw me eating a plate of broccoli.."do you just eat protein and veggies?" and we talked about that a little but that was all :carrot:Will try to post a picture later in the week.Very happy to WI @ 153.2 today :cp: (down .2 since the start of the month w/madness every since :dizzy:) stayed aware of what i was eating. Now my Aunts 91st birthday party today :dizzy: jogged this morning and now going to TRX.

Don't have time to catch up w/y'all right now but always thinking of you all and wishing you all well :grouphug: sometimes i think just thinking of y'all keeps me on track :D Hope to catch up tomorrow :)

Morning everyone!

I'm hovering around 192.4 with minor fluctuations both up and down this weekend. But I made a decision to run the Toronto Waterfront 5K with my best friend this October. It's 5 days before my birthday and I think it'll be a fantastic gift to myself to be able to complete it. It'll give me a tangible date for a goal and what better motivation to start running again. I'm going to do the C25K to train for it 3x a week on my own, and then my friend and I are going to run together once a weekend.

Thanks for all the compliments on the cake, it's the 5th special one I've made so I still have lots to learn, but it's really fun and they taste way better than anything I've had at anyone else's weddings so I think I'm onto something! I just have to keep up the will power when it comes to eating them!
today is super crazy so I can't do personals-love you all though! oh, thistoo, thx for info on C25K... is it a video, book? I'd like to do it.

HI ladies! I'm back.
The biopsy went well and the results were good.
The lymphnoads are still enlarged, so I have to go for more tests in a month or so. I did get psoriasis from all the stress, though
So, getting back on track. I didn't get much exercise between the hospital, blood tests, etc. - so I'm 7 lbs up.
Going back to SBD PH1 tomorrow (I don't believe in waiting until Mondays), hoping to shed 3-4 lbs in the 2 weeks of PH1.
I did decide that I will not be a slave to the scale. I know that in February I worked out 24 days, ate well, felt great and only lost 3 lbs - so the scale will not be a deciding factor for me anymore.
I will weigh in daily for accountability - I like to keep track of fluctuations.
Glad to be back.
Oh..and I'm not changing the ticker - I want to get back to that weight - slowly.

As for me, my dear friends, my stomach feels like it's blowing up with bloat, it hurts and I'm fat! It's like TOM is starting all over again or something, usually by now it would be subsiding:?: this bloat is making me scared about my weigh in tomorrow but I know I've been good, so it is what it is!
Have a great evening, see ya tomorrow:hug:

Kelly, you're doing great! And that cake looked beautiful.

Onami, I'm glad you bought yourself a dress that made you feel pretty. I bought 3 new dresses and wore one to work on Friday; it made me feel fantastic. If the weather would finally warm up here, I could wear the other ones!

RRB2, congrats on the good results and good luck with your new plan.

I'm stuck at 146, after a tantalizing glimpse of 143.8, but I've been really active the past week and am feeling good. I've decided I'm just not willing to eat little enough to create a big enough deficit to lose a pound a week anymore. I'm going to keep it at 1500-1600 a day and try to exercise for at least an hour every day and see what happens. I was hoping to be under 140 by my birthday in early June but, if I'm not, I'm fairly certain the world won't end.

Have a good week, all!

Kelly, there's a website for C25K here (http://www.c25k.com/). I have a free app for my phone that lets you listen to your own music, which is really handy, and it tells you when to switch from walking to running. The website is what started it, though, so you'll find lots of information there. Lots of people on the board do C25K; I believe there's a support thread for it in the exercise forum.

Hi to everyone else! I don't have a lot of time this morning since it's my last work day before vacation (SO EXCITED) but I thought I would check in just in case I don't get the chance tomorrow before I leave. I'm down 1.4 this morning to 193.8, so I guess the past couple days of really sticking with it have paid off.

Honestly, I'm not even going to worry about it for the next week or so. I'm just going to enjoy my trip stress-free for once. I'll be back at the end of next week to check in! Take care, everyone.

I was on the other daily weigh-in thread but found the new layout lacked interaction between each other.

Down 1.2 today - hurray! I credit some miscalculations in my calories yesterday...I accidentally entered some lunch items twice and thought I was finished my calories for the day, but I really had 300-400 to go. :D Today has been great too so hopefully I'll keep on losing.

Diana -- Looks like you shed some of that bloatiness -- good job!

Angela :welcome: Where did you go on vacation?

Kelly -- I'm happy for you about the .2! Thanks, I'm having a good start to May; it feels good and helps me to stay on track.

Caroline - Have a great holiday!

Julz -- Good job on your 1.6!

Good Morning, Everyone!

I am up an hour earlier than normal so I can go to my Mom's appointment. I did get to bed earlier, so that's a good thing. Still no TTOM for me. What's up with that? It's always right on time to torture me. :dunno: Not that I am complaining. I still feel bloated and my fingers are tight. I really thought I was going to have a bad weigh in this morning because of how my fingers feel. Also, I haven't been to the bathroom :o in a couple days. This goes hand and hand with TTOM, for me.

Calories for yesterday: 1470 + :coffee:
Weigh In: 144.6
Up: .2

Reallystruggling This is a great site and check-in! Everyone is very supportive of each other. It seems, if one person is busy, there's always someone else to chime in to offer support. That "pizza weight" is probably just water weight. Give it a few days to pass and you will be just fine. ;)

Angie Congrats on the 1.2 pounds! Guess what I found out yesterday? There is a Greek Yogurt Co, that has a new Ranch (and other flavors) salad dressing. I have been using that for the last couple of months and love it! As you know, I can't have a lot of things because of my food allergy. Well, ice cream has also been a problem. I can eat Haagen Dazs ice cream/fro yo, but the calories are really high and not worth it for me (unless it's my higher calorie day). Anyways, this company is coming out with a frozen yogurt. They are going to be demoing it, not this weekend, but the next! Their products have a good amount of protein, no junk, no fillers or thickeners. I am so excited! I am hoping to have a treat that doesn't kill the calorie bank! Can you tell that I am excited over this?

Morning y'all. Three days to vacay!!!!

I'm up 0.3 to 192. I reckon some of that is water retention from the workout we did yesterday. We're celebrating NAOSH Week at work, and here at head office we've got a count your steps challenge going on; everyday has been some sort of activity. My colleagues and I have signed up as a team, and we've been doing power walks in the afternoon to replace our coffee break. We also did a socasize class after lunch today that they held in the office. Also went on a walk with hubby after dinner last night. So yay for movement.

ChouKoe -- I normally underestimate too, or forget something, so it was pretty unusual for me to double up, but it worked for me so I'm happy about the oversight.

Kukkie Hi

Caramelkitty good job on that pound!

QT Great job staying in Onderland w/TTOM. :carrot:

Angie Good job on the .4. The name of the company is Atlanta Fresh. Unfortunately, it's a regional company. Their Greek Ranch dressing is only 14 calories per 2 tablespoons! Isn't that amazing? They also have a cucumber dill taziki dressing that I use when I make chicken salad! They also have some amazing Greek Yogurt flavors. Here's their site: http://www.atlantafresh.com/YogurtProducts.html They don't have the dressing or froyo listed, though. I think it's too new.

Hi Everyone! Just checking in. Was down .5 after a binge, followed by starvation :) I over ate, but refused to give up my hard earned weight loss, so I cut back one day, which is really, really hard for me to do!!!

We are out of town (left late last night) and staying in a hotel right now. Every meal is take out, but I'm hoping to maintain (we shall see). Had an initial interview for a prospective job and will meet with them again in July. Had to wear my only pair of dress pants that fit, so hopefully I can wear a different pair the next time I meet with them!
Also looking for a preschool for my 3yo. We are moving about 4 hours away for my hubby's new job. I'm sad and a little depressed about it, which isn't good for staying on plan, but I'm doing my best. I'm going to miss my mom :( She lives near by right now.

Looks like everyone is still doing pretty good overall. I'm hoping to catch up on everyone's posts later :)

Poop, I'm up .4 today and not sure but I think it must be because I'm trying to reduce my water pills, which my doctor suggested. I'm taking only half a pill each night as of last night, so I suspect that could be the reason. TOM is 6 days away, so I don't think it's that.

Minnie -- Thanks! Good job on staying the same yesterday, sometimes that's an accomplishment too :) Sorry about the gain today, but it's quite small, you'll deal with that in the next few days I'm sure.

Diana -- Good job on your .2

Kelly -- Congratulations on your .8, you did so well maintaining through TOM!

Kifli -- It's tough to maintain or lose while traveling, but I'm sure you can do it, make the best choices available to you.

caramelkitty, I love your name - it combines two of my favorite things!

Angie, hang in there. You know these fluctuations are inevitable.

MadameZombie, hitting 150 was a big milestone for me, too. Congrats!

I'm still hanging around at 144, which I'm taking as a win considering how much I've been eating this week. I don't understand why I've been so hungry. My stomach was growling up a storm as I was exercising last night, and I hadn't exactly starved myself during the day. I worry that my lifetime of crazy eating has done some permanent damage and that my hunger signals will always be out of whack. (Note to self: buy more gum!)

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I've got more plant shopping and gardening planned and am hoping the rain will end so I can take a good long walk.

Happy mother's day to all you moms!

Noooo! I'm up 1.4 today after a pretty awesome day yesterday. My sodium was a little high I guess and with the new dosage of water pill maybe that's what's going on. If it's not that TOM better be coming today, because I don't want to randomly gain in the week before TOM!

CarmelKitty -- That's good to know. I figure I have to do this sometime and at whatever point I do it I'll have to suffer gains or flatlining while my body adjusts.

Steph -- I've tried Diana's strategy a few times lately and when I was hungry when I really shouldn't be or when I had few calories left in my day I had a big bowl of steamed veggies to fill the gap. Have fun with your gardening this weekend. I'll be doing some of that again as well.

Diana -- I may look for that froyo tomorrow when I can make a trip to Wholefoods. :) What's on for this weekend for you?

Choukoe -- I hope you did amazing on your finals!

RRB2 -- Yes, you'll get there, I'm going to try to go back there too. (and beyond :))

Angela -- That sounds like an amazing holiday! We just came back from Disney World (Orlando) I hope your DD has a magical time at Disneyland Paris!

RRB2 Hi  Good to see you back.

TexaninItaly Good job on the .2.

QT Congrats on the 1.8 pounds! You are doing such a great job!

Angie Sorry about the up on the scale. Hopefully the water pill/water weight will regulate quickly. I will be spending some time with my Mom this weekend. I am going to try to take her to a couple stores tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. I am also bringing her to my house on Sunday. I will make some type of soup that she can eat. She also likes cut up fruit. I'll try to make something special for her. For me and DH, I am making stading rib roast, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, broccoli w/cheese sauce and having cheese cake for dessert. Guess who is taking Sunday off? Then I will be moaning and groaning all next week about the scale being up. ;) Next week is our haircuts/Japanese restauant. It ought to be a really bad week for me and the scale. ;) Also, Sunday night is the Survivor finale. I can't wait to watch that! Chelsea, a local girl, is still on there. Do you have any plans for the weekend?

Kelly, congrats on the new low! It looks like you've left 200 in the dust.

I was at 143.2 this morning so I feel like 140 is attainable, at some point.

Two NSVs today: I went plant shopping with a friend and we had lunch at a diner and - hang on to your hats - I ate only a handful of the fries that came with my sandwich!

Also, I went to DMV to renew my license and got a new photo. It actually looked pretty good (they let you preview it). I can't wait to get the new license and throw away the old one.

 y'all..

Going to a 4 hour zumbathon tomorrow.. told my sister and she asked" does your heart every feel funny while doing all that dancing" I said "nah..but i do feel like I'm going to pass out sometimes" :D Worked out good Monday and Wednesday,Jogged Thursday and no exercise today.Been an unexpected crazy busy week.

Will WI Sunday, more like Monday after pushing the exercise hard this weekend.Had 2 rough nights of eating late night snacks. If i eat any carbs after 5pm i want to eat them all night long.I've known that for awhile...sigh..must always stay aware.Did good tonight :cp:

Sorry bout the gain Angie, yeah,it could be your lower dosage pill.My doctor has been wanting to ween me off of mine cause my blood pressure has been regular for a while now and i tried a lower dosage a while back but my weight went up.
I was also supposed to be keeping a blood pressure log to see if i didn't need them any more and i didn't do it :o I didn't give the lower dosage a chance(take long enough) for my weigh to get use to them(stabilize) :o I figure when I'm where i want to be then I'll deal w/ stopping them (lowering them)and see how my pressure does then.I can't deal with to many things(change) at once :D

Look at you go Kelly :yay: :) you're doing an awesome job :cp:

Diana, have a wonderful time w/your mother this weekend :) Dinner sounds great. My aunts been in the hospital again this week so this week hasn't gone like I'd like. She did get out today though :carrot:

Wow Texan you're doing a wonderful job this month :cp: just awesome :cp:

Steph, I'm more hungry after exercising :dunno:and i eat a lot all the time too.:dunno:
For 2 nights old habits to eat snacks after 7pm has reared it's ugly head.I had them under control for a long time but for me it's more mental than anything.Finding that fine line of knowing when I'm really hungry or just when i want to eat to be eating.Something that will always be a work in progress.Hope you got to wear your other dress and can do your gardening. :)

QT I never liked cheesecake as much as I do now, that I've lost weight. Isn't that crazy? If I am going to splurge on a dessert now, I prefer very rich and heavy desserts. I don't know why I changed like that.

Steph Good job on your weigh in and for having lunch in moderation.

Ona I'm glad your aunt seems to be doing better. At least she is out of the hospital now. It's good how we keep learning about ourselves.

Caramel Hi

Angie I found the Greek Fro/Yo that I was looking for today. It came out early. I bought the vanilla. It was really good. DH and I shared it. I had 1/2 pint and it was 240 calories. I think it is safe for me. There was one ingredient that I am unsure of. I guess if I blow up and have Octomom lips in a day or two, I will know that it's not safe! They have a Mexican chocolate Fro/Yo that's chocolate, cinnamon, and spices. I think I will try that one next. It sounds really good. I didn't change my food today, so, my calories are higher due to this little treat.

Mother of pearl I'm so mad I could spit! Another (3 days in a row) gain when I should have a loss I've been on plan all month ....I'm up .4 today. :tantrum::headache::bomb::tape: I'm okay, but feeling a little crabby about this. TOM better be headed my way today or I don't have any other way to explain this. I will have to start chugging water I guess to do my part.

Diana -- I thought maybe now after a few days of my lower dose pill things would regulate, but it seems to be taking longer. Sounds like a great weekend for you. I'm really looking forward to Survivor as well. :) We are celebrating tomorrow by having our 2nd annual Mother's Day tea party. My mom will be here (she lives here lol) and 3 of my aunts, two girlfriends, and possibly my step mom. I'm making cute little tea sandwiches...cucumber sandwiches, tomato sandwiches (pb&j for any kids). I have a lot of fun with this event....I decorate my deck all pretty and I've been gardening a lot to get ready. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Oh darn it -- I forgot to check for the froyo!

Oh, by the way, I got a fitbit and started using it yesterday. I'm reserving judgement until I see how it works for me for a few days. Yesterday it did weird things with my calories, but I read that's because it has to accumulate some data on you for the first little while. I loved the sleep analysis though, can you believe I woke up 10 times last night!? No wonder I don't feel rested.

Kelly -- Thanks! I'm hanging in there. Good job on your .4 today :) I remember you told us about the biggest loser deadline, and I wanted to join but then I missed it anyway....I'll have to give it a go again in the next round. Are you on red or blue team?

Ona -- My doctor wanted me to do this with the pills before, but I was hesitant because of the weight, but now I just have to pull the bandaid off I guess because I worry about the risk of damage to my kidneys from being on them too long...it's already been 2-3 years. Being put on them was one of the things that made me get my butt in gear. Have a great time at your Zumbathon!

Carmelkitty -- Congratulations on busting into the 150's!!!

Down 0.4lb to 235.6. I'm still up 1.6 from my new low. The last 2 days have been horrible. I was off plan, went over my calories by a lot (800+), had too much sodium, and didn't get enough exercise. To top it all off, I lost my workout shoes. One minute they were there and now I can't find them anywhere! So I can't even go to the gym today because I have no shoes. Also, since this month is filled with holidays and birthdays (my boyfriend, cousin, and best friend), it's making it extra hard to stay within my calories.

I'm running a lot of errands today. So not much time for a wii or kinect session. Hope to burn some calories tonight at my friends party (in a dance club) and avoid the high calorie cocktails.

Keep building your mentality about what to eat Angie,it'll all show eventually.Yeah..i think about my kidneys sometimes too but don't stress over what's going to happen.leave it all in God hands.Every pill,foods,etc.. we put in our body i think has some kind of side effect.
For years half of my family has taken the same kind i take to control their Blood pressure and they are find.My Doctor didn't push the issue for me to stop,(just keep a log of my daily pressure and see if i don't need them now) more of me knowing that since my blood pressure has been under control for over 1&1/2 cause I've lost weight that I'd like(i think i don't need them any more) to stop taking them.I've managed to get off 12 pills a day,I'll get rid of the last one eventually :)

Weather the storms Julz :sumo: Have fun tonight! great job on the .4!!

Go Kelly Go!! :cheer: you're in the Zone  tell me about it :dizzy: but it's all so worth it in the end :D

Hay Diana  thank you  yeah, she's a little fighter

Fantastic WI Carmel :yay: beat that fat down :sumo: man we danced this morning :dizzy: don't think i could do it everyday though :D well may be if i liked all the music of that particular instructor. The music and instructor makes all the different I think.

I hope you all have a great weekend, and if you see a gain, don't let it beat you down, it's gonna come back down, remember, it may be water weight :)

Honestly, this morning I weighed in at 158.6... I don't know what's happening to me, but it seems to be flying off. If that's the case, maybe I'll extend my "GOAL" weight to 135... mayyyybe... or I'll aim for 135 and eat all the junk Im craving and bring myself up 5lb LOL!! That's terrible, I know... :p

Healthy Mother's Day Tea Sandwiches
Hosting a Mother’s Day brunch this coming Sunday? Why not serve these bite-sized healthy tea sandwiches? Despite their small size they’re packed with nutritious ingredients, including watercress, a nourishing leafy green that adds a flavorful kick to the filling. Serve a salad of baby lettuces and tomatoes alongside.

Turkey and Watercress Tea Sandwiches

Description
Tea sandwiches are enjoying something of a renaissance, and they should: They make great party fare and are easy to prepare. These are dressed up with a homemade spread that makes them particularly worthy of special occasions.

Make-Ahead: Spread can be made up to 1 day ahead and refrigerated in a covered container until ready to use. Sandwiches can be made up to 4 hours before the party; keep them well wrapped and refrigerated. Allow the sandwiches to come to room temperature before serving, and then cut them into quarters.

Prep time: 15 minutes

Makes 10 servings

Ingredients
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Freshly ground black pepper
10 thin slices whole-grain bread
5 ounces thinly sliced oven-roasted turkey
1 bunch watercress, thick stems removed

Instructions
Whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, basil, chives, lemon juice, and a pinch of pepper in a small bowl.

Spread mayonnaise mixture evenly on 5 slices of the bread (you can remove the crusts if you like). Place turkey slices and watercress evenly on top, then top with remaining bread. Cut sandwiches into quarters and serve.

Hi Everyone! I took my Mom shopping today. We had a really nice time. I didn't get a chance to workout, though. Tomorrow I am making a nice dinner. I am taking the day off from calorie counting. I might not be able to workout tomorrow, either. We'll see how it goes. I rarely take a day off. This week I took Monday off because of my Mom's treatment and today because I took my Mom shopping. If I take off tomorrow, that will be the most time I have taken off since I can remember. :o I'm getting ready to prep my standing rib roast for tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a great Mother's Day!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been around. We went out of town, then I accidentally left my computer chord in the hotel room. I'm typing on my phone right now which isn't the easiest thing to do.

So we ate out for every meal, but I was able to drop .5 by lowering portions. I'm very happy about this as I was expecting a gain.

Diana- I'm taking tomorrow off too. Going to tea with my mom. Hope you have a wonderful mother's day!

Angie - sorry about your gain. Totally sounds like water weight! But how to get rid of that?! Hope it comes off soon.

Kelly- you are doing phenomenal! So happy for you!

Rennie - haven't heard from you. We miss you! Hope you are doing okay =)

I'm back. I started weighing in and trying to eat right again. After a few days of the numbers going down they stopped. The last few days I'm pretty much staying the same though I'm doing pretty good with my eating. I should have lost some but I can tell I'm retaining fluid. (ring is snug and hard to get off when usually it's fairly loose)
I'm drinking a lot of water today and will watch my salt intake. Hopefully the numbers will start falling again.

Finally, finally, finally, made it to 40 lbs lost and my next mini-goal of 225! Weighed in at 224.8 this morning!

My last 3 weeks have been slow going. Lost 1 lb, then lost .2 lb, then lost exactly another 1 lb this week.

My next mini-goal is 215, which is 50 lbs lost. I am not sure what my reward will be just yet- I am trying to think of something really special :)

At 199, I know I am going to the nearby theme park because I'm confident I'll be able to ride all the rides by then.

underwater, congrats on the 40 pounds lost! Good luck with your next mini-goal.

Diana, how did your local girl do on Survivor? I hope you enjoyed your cheesecake yesterday.

I weighed in at 141.8 this morning, quite a surprise. I've been eating what seems like a lot but have also been really active, so I guess that's a good combination - at least for the moment.

Diana: You'll get it off later this week. Just think of it as a well deserved break for Mother's Day. I just noticed you've almost lost 150 lbs. That's amazing!

Steph: You lost another 3 pounds since you last moved your tracker. I run and move mine as soon as I lose 1 pound. :)

I was so proud of myself this weekend for sticking to this diet. I didn't want to get off it for Mother's Day since I just started to diet. Once I get off it's hard for me to get motivated again.

I went to Muffin's with Mom at my daughters preschool today and stayed out of the muffins. It was very hard to do because muffins aren't readily available in Italy and I really wanted one.

So my major Whoosh took a major stall this morning hahaha. I was losing a lb a day for some reason that I cannot explain and now I lost 0.4 in a day. Which is mooooooooooore than good enough just I guess a week of losing 1lb a day kinda made me get high expectations, which is a big nono in weight loss. lol

TexaninitalyGOOD JOB staying on plan!!! You can do it, it gets easier i can promise, and you'll find healthier options wherever you go. :)

Hi Everyone!

Steph Our local girl came in 3rd place on Survivor. Cheesecake was very good! I also did some baking. :o I hate baking from scratch! But I was having a craving for peanut butter cookies. The problem is that I can't have peanut butter nor can I have most baked goods. I found a reciped for almond butter cookies. I cut the recipe in half. I don't need 3 dozen cookies. I would eat 3 dozen cookies! :o Honestly, they were some of the best cookies that I have ever had. I will have to bake those again sometime. Good job on your weigh in!

TexaninItaly Good job on sticking to yor plan. I love my splurge days, but look forward to getting right back on plan.

Caramelkitty Good job on the .4! Yes, as you go along, things seem to slow down some. Stay patient and keep that focus.

caramelkitty

Diana Ouhhhh cookies!!! I'm a baker!! share that recipe with me I'd love to make it for when people come over! I bake for a living and can't even eat my creations. It's one of the hardest things ever haha, but I guess it shows my willpower? :dizzy:

Steph7409
05-14-2012, 09:25 PM
Diana, I'd like that recipe too. I love to bake and I love almond.

TexaninItaly, my weight bounces around so much that I hate to change my ticker until I'm really, really sure. I have my weigh in on Lose It tomorrow so I may change it then, if it's still down. I ate too much sodium today, though, so all I'm hoping for is 143!

caramelkitty, one of my career fantasies is to be a baker. What's your specialty? (BTW, I attended McGill for a year, way back when, before you were born! Montreal is a great city.)

Hi to everyone else!

Diana3271
05-14-2012, 09:44 PM
Caramelkitty & Steph Here's a link to the recipe. I used this brand of Almond Butter, too. http://www.barneybutter.com/2011/03/almond-butter-chocolate-chunk-cookies/ Also, since I have the soy allergy, I used this dark chocolate in the cookie http://www.enjoylifefoods.com/chocolate-bars/dark-chocolate/ I just bought the bars and chopped them. They also have chocolate chunks for baking, but I don't need a bag of that stuff around. ;) KWIM? I cut the recipe in half. I wanted to make a small batch of cookies and everything would be gone the same day. No temptation for today.

caramelkitty
05-14-2012, 09:56 PM
Steph Drink some water today hopefully the water retention from the sodium won't be so bad! :)

I do cupcakes, cakepops and cakes. I loooove cupcakes and coming up with creative things, but those nice fondant covered specialty cakes are fun too!! Cake pops are awesome for kids THEY LOVE THEM! lol

McGill is a great school!! You should come back to Montreal a lot has changed since then! hehe :)

Diana AMAZING!! thank you so much, Im gonna give it a shot on the weekend and I'll most certainly cut the recipe in half too haha there's no need for that much temptation around me.

Hey everyone! I"m still up a bit, another .2 today...I'm just going to have to ride this out I guess. TOM is due now, so that likely won't help matters. I'm starting right now...going to go look for something healthy to snack on.

Ona -- I'm going to give it a bit more time, but if I can't lose weight I'll have to go back to my full dose. It's pretty awesome that you've gone from 12 pills to 1!! Oh I missed seeing your post about the sandwiches until after my party! I would have liked to try the turkey watercress ones! I made some cucumber, some tomato...both with light cream cheese to hold them together; the others were lean ham, some plain cheddar -- I kept it pretty simple. I'm going to try that turkey/watercress for myself though, yum!

Kifli -- I'm going to try to flush it away with lots of water and asparagus always seems to help too.

Diana -- The party was lots of fun! Hope your rib roast was delicious :) Sorry about the gain :(

Choukoe -- Thanks!

Kelly -- Thank you  I'm going to try to stick it out at the lower dose for another couple of weeks...it's TOM this week anyway, so it's not like I normally lose at this time, I can wait it out. I was on the red team the last three times I did TBL, so I always feel like I have to join that team :)

Angela -- Congratulations on your size 16's! Good job on resisting the muffins :)

Time2loseit -- Welcome back!

Underwater -- Congratulations on your 40lb milestone!!

CarmelKitty -- Congrats on the .4!

For those of you who are going to bake the cookies, I want to make sure you know that they are NOT low calorie. Of course they can be worked into your calorie/point plan. I have food issues and have to arrange to take a day off my plan when I want something like that. I am not the type of person that can have 1 or 2 cookies and move on. I have to stick 100% to my food plan 99% of the time or I will get into trouble. I can take a day off and get right back on plan, but I cannot eat these types of foods in moderation. I just wanted to throw out that disclaimer about the cookies. ;)

Please post your thoughts if you make the cookies. I thought they were literally some of the best cookies that I have ever had. But you have to remember, I don't eat many cookies due to my food allergy and eating plan. So, these were a real treat for me. You may actually think they are the worst ever.

Cajunlady Congrats on the 1.5 pounds and 55 pounds total!

Texan Keep up the great work!

diana, the cookie recipe looks great, as does the fudge recipe (although I don't really like fudge). I'm going to try the cookies as soon as I get some almond butter.

Astonishingly, I still have some fabulous chocolate chip cookies in my freezer. I've been eating one every couple of days (they're big, so probably 175 calories each). I'm working on the whole "moderation" thing. It's interesting that some of us are better with the smaller daily treats and some are better with having bigger treats less often. And the people who can go without treats altogether are just freaks, in my opinion. :)

Angie, hang in there. How is your garden doing? Mine is looking pretty good. We're getting rain today, with warmer temps to come, so it should be growing like crazy soon. I am a compulsive plant buyer and love to plant new perennials. It's probably a good thing that my yard isn't huge, or I'd be broke.

ugh, the last two days have been so busy and I ate stuff late at night, stayed under 1600 cals both days, but seems like if I go over 1400 then I gain weight:mad: so, today I have found my will power and determination to make things happen in the right direction. It happened when my daughter and her boyfriend made comments about my post on the refridgerator. It says, I may not be able to lose 100 lbs, but I maybe I can lose 5 lbs twenty times, and then I have twenty circles with 5's in them and I've been crossing them off as I go. Well, they were saying they thought I'd have only got 3 or 4 crossed off and then taken it down and given up. I wasn't sure whether to say thanks for them congratulating me on continuing on, or "thanks a lot" for the incredible confidence they had in me  Anyways, it made me think I better keep crossing off circles so I can impress them some more, or make them wrong for not believing in me in the first place, however I want to look at it!
All I know is I better be lower than 196 by Sunday for the Biggest Loser weigh in:D so, here comes the water again, and get that pizza out of my house already!!
I'm hoping to catch up on personals when things calm down around here later. ttyl!

Steph Good job on being able to keep things in moderation. That's the best way, if you can do it. I seem to go through phases. Last year, when we went on vacations I was able to keep everything in moderation. I have been able to keep the dark chocolate candy bars in my house without a problem. I would break off 1 little square (1/4 of a bar), eat that and be fine. I have even had the chocolate chips from that same company in the house. I would eat a few and be fine. I am going through a phase, right now, where I cannot do this. I could if my life depended on it  but it seems like it would stress me too much right now. I recognize, that at this time, I should not have any of that stuff in the house. It's crazy and probably doesn't make sense. At least I recognize my weakness, right now.

Ona Great job recognizing the behavior and taking care of it before it gets out of hand.

Good Morning, Everyone!

I *think/hope* yesterday was my last day of TTOM. It was a lot shorter than normal. This time it was 6 days vs. 9, 10, or 11 + days. Also (TMI ALERT!!!) it was a lo lighter than it normally is and the cramps weren't as bad. A few weeks ago I was at the Vitamin Shoppe. I was talking with the manager that I know. She has been struggling with hot flashes and menopause symptoms. She had tried taking evening primrose oil before but it didn't help. One of the customers recommended that she take Vitamin E along with the Evening Primrose Oil. This combo is to be taken AM and PM. The manager said this combo has made a huge difference in her life and it seems to be helping other women, too. Well, now, I am always up for a good science experiment! So, I bought the combo a few weeks back. The manager said it could take 1-2 months to see a significant difference. I don't know if TTOM is better because of this addition or not. The TTOM (hormonal) hot flashes and insomnia have greatly improved, too. I woke up warm a couple of days, but it was really close to the time the alarm was suppose to go off, anyways. That's a lot better than at 2 AM. I am going to continue this combo and see what happens. Maybe it will improve even more. I am all for that!

Calories for yesterday: 1470 + :coffee2:
Weigh In: 149

Hi Everyone!
I see lots of great results on this thread, keep up the great work.;)
I won't be on for a few days traveling to Edmonton for my Grandmas funeral.
A little stressed out lately and not really concentrating on the diet, I haven't cheated, just probably not eating enough. So I'm basically staying the same.
Check in with everyone when I get back.

Minnie So sorry for your loss  I hope you are not so stressed when you get back. I send you virtual love hugs and flowers.

As for me, I'm down 0.4 since yesterday, weighed in at 156.2 ... hopefully tomorrow is the day I see 155.... and when I see results it keeps me motivated, so I hope to be good on the weekend again. lol My weekends are my downfall. Surrounded by friends, munchies are your worst enemy. lol

I'm blowing it guys. I almost made my first goal, then went totally off plan. I gained 2 1/2 pounds and I'm 138 now. its not water weight. No excuses, but I have been stressed and sad about our move away coming up next month and also have a sick kitty who is in the vet right now. I worry about losing him. He is 10 now.
I'm going try to stay on plan today before I blow everything. I was trying to get a little smaller for my hubby's fellowship graduation, but I messed up.
I know I have lost a ton of weight already, but my frame is really small and I look chunky still. I wish I was taller so I could eat more food while cutting calories =)

Reallystruggling - your dress is beautiful! And if that is you in the picture, you are too!

Minnie - I'm so sorry about your loss.

Ohhhhh...I hate this whatever thing that is going on with me. So yesterday, up again...today up again -- 2 more lbs -- this is craziness. I'm going to stick with the lower dose though, because I don't ever want to do this again. The bandaid is off, so why stick it back on now, right? I need to focus on my eating though, I"ve been using my frustration about the gains to make choices that are not the best, must turn that around now.

Diana -- I did see some restless sleep before TOM -- I am using my new fitbit to track my sleep, and on the nights 3 and 4 days prior to TOM I awakened 10 times each night! Since then it's been just 4x per night, so I think that might be my norm. I love the fitbit for that, the sleep tracking...also I've realized that I'm far less active than I think I am. I struggle to get in 5000 steps a day, it's eye opening.

Steph -- My garden is going pretty well, thanks! It's a long weekend here this weekend so I think I'll likely do a little more of it since it's supposed to be very nice weather for us. I think I'll do a few more annuals and also plant some tomatoes. What's next for you?

Caramelkitty Good job on the .4. Maybe you could try to eat at maintenance on the weekend. You won't lose, but won't gain. It's worth a try.

Reallystruggling I can't see your dress very well. I am on a laptop and the picture is small. What I can see, though, is your shoulder area. You have really nice shoulders and the dress emphasizes this. Beautiful look on you.

TexaninItaly Good job in being so close to your mini goal.

Kifli Sorry to hear that you have a sick kitty. Sending hugs and healing vibes your way. Don't forget, today is a new day. Keep working your lifestyle change. Don't put too much pressure on yourself. It takes time to get to where you want to be. Don't rush it.

Ona Good job on the 1.4 pounds!

Choukoe Congrats on your whoosh! I would say do what you want to do. You are going to have to do it for the rest of your life. You may as well like it.

Angie Sorry about the scale. I wonder if it has to do with that reaction that we discussed previously. :?:

I feel like I'm going to crack from stress right now. I'm such a worrier/fretter by nature. We just have so much going on for the next 2 months. I just need to pray and remember what is important.

Today, I stayed on plan, drank tons of water, and went to Zumba in the evening. I feel better now.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and kind words. They really do mean a lot. I finally got my computer chord back from the hotel, so I feel 'more connected' now :) You guys are a really great support and I really appreciate it.

Choukoe - my family didn't like my change of plans either. I remember the feeling of disappointing everyone. You are going to have to be completely honest with yourself and seriously ask what will make you happy in the long run. Really introspect. Take into consideration that even if you become knowledgeable in a stable field, that does not prevent you from doing things you love as a hobby. That also doesn't mean you have to work in that particular field for a lifetime! It's not who you are, just what you did. So you can always go on to do other things. But if you hate what you are doing, then don't be a people pleaser! You will only prolong what will ultimately satisfy you. Anyway, I'm not the best at advice, but just remember to be honest with yourself, but smart about your decisions :) Then you can't go wrong.

Angie - Ugh! I feel for you!!! I'm so sorry about the gaining. If I could make it stop, I would :) I hope it stops soon, and you will start to lose again. Yes, refocus, and just do what you need to do, even if the silly scale is not reflecting your efforts right now!

CKitty - Thank you for your sweet words! I'm so glad you came over to this thread. You are such an uplifting person!

Ona - congrats on the 1.4 :)

Diana - thanks for sharing the recipe. I'm going to try it some time. I think it sounds delicious. I have to work a sweet into my 1200 calories or I go crazy, and then blow it with a binge.
Also, thank you for telling me not to put too much pressure on myself. I'm trying to be a 'people pleaser' by getting skinny for certain events coming up, and that is sabotaging my efforts. I need to accept that it is just going to take longer than I had hoped for.

Yay! I made it to my mini goal! I'm at 183.4 today!!!

So as I've been telling you I live in Italy and I've been wanting a beautiful bike. People ride bikes a lot in Europe.. it's so different than the US. Right now I use the city's bike sharing bikes to ride for 2 hours in the park every morning, but I would like my own. I've been saving 10 euros for every pound I lose so I could buy myself mini prizes along the way. Well I was going to wait until I got to my 15% mini goal to have 300 euros to buy a really nice bike. Well my friend is moving out of the country and is selling her brand new elliptical for $200 euros. She just bought it a few months ago for 350 euros. Should I buy it or should I wait and buy the bike? I can't buy both right now.

The other thing is I left my 4 bedroom house in the suburbs of Houston and am living in a tiny apartment in Milan. I would have to stuff that elliptical in my room which means I have to get rid of my small mom cave. (Two nice chairs I put on a rug with a table and flatscreen)

Hello everyone! I'm back from fantastic New York City and not particularly thrilled about it, to be honest. I grew up in New England and every time I visit my friends up north I'm reminded that it feels like home in a way the south never has.

But here I am, for better or worse, and despite my terror after a weekend of drinking and a few off-plan foods, I got on the scale this morning to find I'm only a pound up from when I left. Victory! TOM is due...well, yesterday, technically...so I'm retaining water as well, which means who knows what for my weight. It doesn't really matter; I am 194.8 this morning, so that's where I'm starting from.

So it's back on track now and checking in here daily to keep me honest. I have no prayer of catching up with a week's worth of posts, but I hope everyone's been hanging in there this week. I made my friends walk a TON while we were in the city, but I'm ready to get back to my own workout routine. And I really need to go grocery shopping. All I have in my house are eggs and sunflower butter.

Steph7409

Texan, it sounds to me like you'd get more enjoyment out of the bike. I know how hard it is to pass up a good deal, though, so I see why the elliptical is tempting. But it seems like the bike will fit into your Milan lifestyle better. And congrats on making your goal!

kifli, how's your kitty? I've got an old girl (as well as 2 middle-aged boys and a young girl) who's had thyroid issues for almost 10 years now. I frankly am surprised she's doing as well as she is, but I know how hard it is when they're not doing well. I hope yours is feeling better.

Angie, sorry your results are disappointing. Sometimes we just have to ride it out. As for the garden, I've been buying mostly annuals to fill all my baskets and containers, but tomorrow I'm going to a perennial sale. I don't necessarily need any new plants, but I do love to buy them.

I'm back up to 143. I'm shrinking, but only in the sense that I'm shorter than I thought. I'm going to the doctor's today and am going to ask them to measure my height. I think I might be only 5'2" - yikes! That would mean I'm still technically overweight (which actually seems right to me) and that my goal should be under 120. It seems impossible, so I'm not going to think about it just yet. I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing.

I'm a librarian, which I just sort of fell into, because I was too afraid to try to make a go as a novelist. It pays the bills, but I'm not happy in my career, and that's translated to other areas of my life.

Follow your heart, hon. Your mom will come around eventually, and it will make your life a lot more fulfilling in ways you don't even realize.

Hi Everyone! We just got home. We went to see my Mom tonight. She had chemo last week, so this week is a little rough for her. It's nothing like it was the first round. Her medicine is working for her and she is eating. She is very tired though. This is to be expected. Hopefully she is past the worst of it for this round and she will start feeling better as each day goes by. Basically, you start feeling good and it's time for another treatment. :dizzy: She is half way through her chemo treatments at this point.

It's late so I don't have time for personals. I need to get to bed. I hope you have a nice evening and sleep well. :grouphug:

Good Morning! TGIF! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Does anyone have any plans for the weekend?

As for me, I will do my standard fare of straightening the house, cooking dinner, grocery shopping, and working out.

Anyone have any plans for the upcoming Memorial weekend?

As for us, we normally take a small trip. We won't do that this year because of my Mom being sick. We might take a day trip. We thought about driving to Myrtle Beach to eat crab legs. You gotta love the all you can eat crab leg places. Or maybe not! ;) Hey, it's all protein, baby! :D

I have to keep looking at this weightloss to try to stay motivated. I'm feeling really snacky the last few days, but have barely been able to resist. Weekends are particulary hard for me as I'm sure they are for all of you too. As of today, I want to lose 10 more pounds to hit my next mini goal before I go on vacation next month, June 14. I have been reading the book French Women Don't Get Fat to help me stay motivated and out of the gelato and chocolato!

I did a lot better yesterday, so now I have two day to get the water weight off and pray for Sunday's weigh in to work out!

ghlover :yay: nice loss! good for you :)
texaninitaly you are doing so good! :carrot:
Diana well, I was suppose to do a 5k tomorrow but then we realized it is at the exact same time as my son's bowling banquet, so the banquet wins. I will still take advantage of the terrific weather for some walk/runs this weekend though! And, maybe we'll grill out on Monday, that's when we do our first cook out each year. I'll have to get some turkey hotdogs! yum, crab legs! sounds good! have fun :)

Kelly, I was reading your 3FC blog and wanted to tell you that you've come a long way. You are doing reallly good! Your last post was about getting into onderland and you did that! I also read in your blog to think about what you REALLY WANT instead of what you just want right now. I need to remember that!

We have very similar mini goals... I think because we are near the same height. I'm two inches shorter than you.

Ona How did things go today? Your body will adjust again. Give it some time.

QT It sounds like you were having a bottomless pit day the other day. I'm glad yesterday was better for you. Hang in there. I hope you have a good weigh in on Sunday.

ChouKoe Hi  Have a good weekend!

TexaninItaly Good job on the .4.

Hi all! I finally lost a few oz yesterday, but they came back today and brought friends...I'm now up to 220 -- I've gained about 7lbs in a week. Today I got in lots of walking, so I hope that helps and that this will level out sometime soon. Food is on track for today too, so I've got my fingers crossed for a real loss tomorrow and going forward.

Kifli -- Thank you. I'm trying not to let it get to me... :) Sorry about all your stress. :yoga:

Angela -- Congratulations on your mini goal! What is the secret of those French women anyway?

Diana -- I hope your mom is feeling better and gets lots of rest this weekend. My weekend will be gardening, a little cleaning, and going to an amusement park with Cam -- we bought season's passes again -- lots of walking there, so that's good! Our long weekend is this weekend. I meant to tell you, there was a sale at Gaylord hotels for Memorial day...I think it was $109/night -- I thought of you and how you've been wanting to go. It might be on their website.

Caroline -- Welcome back!

Steph -- I like to buy plants, need them or not, as well. Right now though I do have a big bare patch of garden. I went today and bought another peony, some dahlias, some other tall grassy purple perennial...and I can't remember what else -- oh some little brilliant blue flowers...they are annuals, but so striking I couldn't resist them.

Carmelkitty -- Congratulations on -65lbs!

Ona -- I'm summoning my inner :sumo: -- this is a good weekend (a long weekend here) for me to regroup and get a bit more active. Cameron and I will be going to an amusement park Sunday and I love all the walking I get while we are there.

Kelly -- I had that bottomless pit feeling too for a few days; it was TOM for me...I think it's best to just get to bed as early as possible on those days. I'll have to remind myself of that this time next month.

Morning all.
Back from builders hiatus. Up 2lbs, but think it is mostly water weight and I have a peculiar rash on my face this morning-apparently an allergic reaction to something. I seem to have noted from your trials with allergies Diana, that this could cause the scale to go up. I'm ok, not panicking, just a bit strange looking! I have birthday party to go to today and hope the red rash will have subsided a bit by then :o
The kitchen is fabulous - I'm just so happy with it. It was worth all the stress and hardship ! (Not to mention the money!)
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.
Take care

Angie Thank you, I will take a look at the Gaylord site. Enjoy the amusement park. Sounds fun!

Starbrite  Sorry about the rash. I am still struggling with the allergy thing. It seems to be 95% under control. I still have minor flare ups. I went to a Japanese steakhouse on Wednesday. I have been "reacting" since then. In fact this morning I have a large area of hives on my outer thigh. It's probably from the soy sauce and the oil (probably vegetable (soybean oil) or peanut oil) that they cook in.

Speaking of me and the allergy thing: It seems things have really improved since changing my breads. The breads that I am using now does not contain any soy flour or soy at all. I'm sure I am still getting traces of vegetable oil (soybean oil), soy lecithin, peanut oil when I go out or from cross contamination. Things are a lot better for me in that department. It's so hard not going to the Japanese steakhouse once a month. Since I don't react too badly it still feels worth it. I guess that will change if my reaction worsens.

sweet, down 2 lbs today, so I'm finally lower than last weekend. :carrot: I knew the water was finally letting go cuz my trips to the restroom were constant yesterday:o
texaninitaly wow, I probably should go read my old blogs too, and write some new ones  thx for reminding me of them :)
Angie sorry about the gain, have you talked to the doctor lately? I'm not in the medical field at all, but 7 lbs in a week sounds like you should up that dose again:?:
Diana I think I've got some kind of allergy going on...to the sun. I don't know if that is even possible but I've been breaking out in a rash every year, usually around the end of June and through the summer. Well, its coming back again, early this time, but I've been walking outside so I've been getting earlier exposure to the sun. I don't think it's making me gain weight, but I'm getting very uncomfortable and frustrated that I don't know what's going on with my body...I'm assuming you can relate;)
starbrite :yay: for a fabulous kitchen that's done! have fun at the b-day party and I hope you can figure out what the rash is, like I was just saying to Diana, not knowing what's going on with our bodies is so frustrating!

Hi everyone. Down 1.5 from the 2.5 that I gained. Still hoping to see a glimpse of 135.5 again some day.
Kitty is doing better. The vet said to keep a close watch on him and we will go further if he regresses again. He had lost his appetite and was hiding. Got us worried b/c he is older and has been through a lot of stress with our constant moving around, the young boys, and now rehomed to my mom's so he can have a more peaceful stable existence. He is blind in his left eye, and it may need removal if higher pain symptoms develop in the future :( I love my kitty!

Star - Welcome back. No pressure, but I do hope we can see your kitchen :) So glad you like it.

Texan - You are doing sooo awesome with the weight loss! We visited Italy for a couple of weeks last year. The food is very good, but so heavy! Pasta and Pizza on every corner! Even mayo pizza! You have some great will power - go you!!!

Ona - Awesome job getting all of the calorie burns in! Love your attitude.

Kelly - Another 2?! Woo hoo!!!

Diana - Happy weekend to you too

Angie - Keep hanging in there. It's got to stabilize soon.

ghlover - 193....Congrats :)

Morning
Went to a birthday party last night. I had fun, ate well and filled up on salads. Then DD's boyfriends family arrived back from France with DD and lots of beautiful French cheese. The smell is awful, but the taste is lovely :)
I didn't over indulge, but really enjoyed the nibbles I had.
Well, there was another couple there. They are both very overweight. The husband more so, but he's happy with how he is and never seems to be affected by his weight. The wife on the other hand is always trying something new, and never achieving. She spent the whole evening telling me how she had tried this diet but she thought it was awful and she didn't think she could stick to it. I told her so many times she had to find a plan that would suit her, if she wanted to get the 70lbs off that she was complaining about. As we all know- it will never work if your plan doesn't work for you? It's so hard when someone doesn't listen :?: Not that we are close, but she watched my transformation from start to finish - you would think she might listen to my simple advice!!
Anyhow I have attached pictures of the new kitchen. It is a wonderful place, and I was inspired to bake for the first time in ages yesterday. I don't ever have any problems with baking because I'm not interested in cakes etc, but I really enjoy making things so I made scones for my family, the party and for DD's boyfriends family. I also made cheddar cookies :o now those really did look and smell delicious !
I'm rambling this morning - have a lovely sunday

Oh, Ladies, what is happening? I've only been on this diet for 19 days, surely that is too early to hit a plateau. I have not cheated even once, so I don't know what's going on. This is my first time keeping a record of my daily weight (I didn't do that until I found this forum) so I'm wondering if any of you that have been keeping the list for awhile noticed an increase in weight or not losing during the time of ovulation. I know you retain water during your TOM, but what about ovulation. According to my Period/Ovulation tracker, I ovulated yesterday... could that explain why I am stuck at 183?

Starbrite, your kitchen is beautiful! I upgraded my kitchen right before I moved to Italy so that my house would lease as part of the renovation. I had granite countertops installed, a tile backsplash, the cabinets refaced, and bought new stainless steel appliances... I never got to enjoy it, but at least I know I'll be going back to a nice kitchen when I move home next year. My kitchen here in Italy is smaller than my walk in closet back home in Houston. I am not exaggerating, it's really tiny!

TexaninItaly I do not think you are at a plateau. I would call it a plateau when someone has been at a weight 1+ months. You have lost 11.2 pounds so far. I think that is amazing! I have never lost that much in a whole month not to mention 19 days. The most that I ever lost in a month was 10.8 pounds and that was a very rare occurrence for me. I averaged about 6-7 pounds a month and I had a lot more weight to lose than you. I also stuck to my plan like glue and worked out, very hard, every day. I never strayed from my plan while I was losing. Stay patient, you are doing great.

another pound down today:D ba-bye water weight, now I gotta fight that fat:sumo:
texan first of all, yes you will see 182! well, unless you skip it to 181! I have a couple theories for you, first, I've heard that after you lose the first 10% of you body weight things can slow down. Second, and this is totally my own uneducated idea...our bodies can easily hold 10 lbs of excess water, so the sharp drop you were seeing was a lot of water loss, and now you may be fighting just the fat??? I just know that whenever I've went on diets in the past, and this time too, I lost a bunch really fast in the begining, and then things get slower. Third, maybe ovulation has something to do with it?? I'm hoping some other ladies can comment on this one because it would explain my own water retention and my bottomless pit from the begining of this week ;) what ever the case may be, we have all learned if you stay on plan the weight will come off, fast or slow, it WILL:D
starbritethx for sharing the pics, ur kitchen is beautiful! good job on only nibbling the cheeses! I LOVE cheese!

Kelly, are you putting on sunblock before you go outside? Start at 35 and see if that helps. And congrats on the 2 pounds!

Ona, your exercise regimen is really impressive. Your determination is inspiring!

Diana, I'm glad your mom is getting through her chemo okay. I know it can be brutal.

I've been having a lovely weekend, with lots of activities - a perennial sale, an art show, an needlework show, a pottery show. Some people are so talented, it makes me envious! I need to start implementing some of my craft ideas, even if my skill level isn't so high.

The only bad part of the weekend is that I've eaten too much. I'm feeling a bit self-indulgent but I'm pretty sure I can rein it in. I went to Moe's for lunch yesterday and managed to not finish my quesadilla, so I'm marking that as a win. And I went grocery shopping this morning and didn't buy anything binge-worthy. I did find a new Atkins bar that I like - cinnamon bun. YUM.
