Oh my cards are sent out too......now we have my sons BD next week to celbrate and then on to Christmas...I'm running on no sleep :dz: and the anxiety:hyper: is high but eating ok for now!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate having the flu and it has been awhile..knock on wood. My sis had the stomach flu over Thanksgiving and we were all afraid we would get it but so far so good!

( I did not take my usual food along cause I didn't plan to be gone all day!) Gotta get some rest before I fall over!) I ran off today and left the heating pad on.......my brain is going!

Things have been going well here. Finished up all the christmas shopping and now I just have a few more things to wrap and I'm done. Thank goodness. I do not enjoy shopping last minute. Things are tight around here too. I'm scrapeing my wallet just to pay the dag on bills:(

Going to my works Holiday party/awards banquet. Should be nice. Jeff will be able to come. He seems to enjoy them. He came the one last year and like it and they are having it at the same place!

Jeff's mom just called...wants to go to the mall so i'm tagging along with her. I'll see you all later.

Oh! gained 3 pounds back...4 to be total:( WAAAAAAAH!

Hopefully I'll beable to knock them back off before xmas time! I'm gonna try my best. I really need to start to kick some tail!

Have a great weekend!

Well..I forgot to add that while I was out shopping I picked up stuff for the WW soup and made that today and yesterday only used up 3 banked pts and that was not counting exercise pts so I am ok....whew.......Got my baking recipes out but have not started yet..need to ge some done this week and I know I will sample plenty but I always allow for it but know for health reasons I need to cut back on my sugar intake! Boo Hoo.........

Well... we have a Birthday meal this week (my son) and cake.......gotta start banking again. not sure if I'm cooking for him or going out. I'm still worn out form my trip or stressed out I should say.

Sounds like we are all keeping track and that is half the battle I think! Ya gotta know what you are eating....I totally cannot remember my meds or food or anything else if I do not right it down! Too many senior moments latley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just cold here the snow and ice missed us...yeah....we just missed the storm..they got 8 inches of snow and ice where we were for Thanksgiving! I hope all of you that got hit with this are ok.............

We had my sons BD meal here and I did well with the meal but had a tiny piece of cake and then when I was putting it away I ate more! Used all my banked pts I guess...what a waste. I'm pooped from cooking and decorating..had to redo some of the lights outside that the wind broke.........

it's 3:38am on Friday morning and I just got home from taking my friend to the hospital. she had the stomach flu and had developed chest pain during the day. apparently it had gotten worse and she felt she needed to go to the hospital. Not just any hospital, but the naval hospital which is about 30-40 minutes away from where we live. she called me though and asked if i'd take her and as a good friend I said i would. good news is that nothing came out of it. she had a chest x-ray and it came back normal. They kept her there long enough just to give her enough fluids. She was dehydrated.

So now I'm EXHAUSTED but if i go to sleep I know I will not wake up for work later. I have to be there by 645am and it's already going on 4. I just can't see myself sleeping and actually waking up. I"ve slept through my alarm before. I really dont want to take a chance on it this time! But I just plan on coming home afterwards and SLEEP!!!!

The last 2 weeks I've gained 4 lbs. I've been struggling to stay within points. Although the past 2 days, i've managed to stay within points and even BANK some too! I would really like to lose the 4lbs I gained before christmas. Not sure if itll happen, but I'll try!

Alright. I'm going to go. Take care everyone and if you get the FLU...SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!!STAY HEALTHY!

Well, my friend is feeling better. Her parents came into to town to help her out. Her husband will be back in town on tuesday so that will be good!

I managed to stay the same this week so i'm grateful for that;) I think I've been hit with the stomach virus. I just have not felt right since Saturday. my friend/co-teacher got sick last nite. So i'm think it'll hit me next.

Jeff and I are going to his parents house for his fathers birthday dinner. it's going to be an early one which is good so that way i have the rest of the evening to do things around the house. I'm going to make roasted pecans and hand them out to those I work with. Jeff's mom made them and they were so good.

Anyhow, just have been relaxing today. did some laundry but what else is new.

Hope everyone is doing well especially in doing all the treat making!

Take care

Hi Erica:

Are your roasted pecans covered with sugar. Someone in my Woman's Club makes something like that for our Christmas Bazaar. It's real good and a good seller I just donate money to the Bazaar. I don't cook, bake, can, or make crafts. I am pretty good about donating things to the White Elephant table.

Have a Happy Holiday.

Hello and Happy Holidays to everyone!

I, like most of you....have been extremely busy but I have to say, I've been much busier than I had anticipated. I had all my shopping done, been baking, working and being Hockey Mom and blah, blah, blah........

Soooooo, there was not much time for ole Mom to have time to herself. NOW, I can really start to decorate INSIDE. Bill finished the outside last weekend. I've been away from home so much that I haven't had much time with my family AS a family and we have all been like ships .... passing in the night.
:dizzy:

I have NOT been following WW for quite some time now and hope .......no.....I WILL get back on program AFTER Xmas. I'm way too stressed right now......I still grab a peice of fruit or something to take in the car with me and I always have my water... but I'm also STILL maintaining and have not lost an ounce. Hey...the WW program works and when I'm ready to hop on board again....I'll be giving it %120 !!!!! That's the way I lost my very first time and if I did it once, I can do it again.

For all of you SNOW people......WOW !!!!!!! I've been following the weather channel and the news the best I can and I don't envy you. It's actually in the low 40's for us today and that's COLD for Florida.....supposed to get to the mid to upper 30's tonight.
I have so much to tell you all that I think I'm going to write a long letter and just email it to you. There are some things in there that I don't want on the "net" and I'm sure you all understand.

I miss you all ...... If anyone wants to try to set up a time in the chat room....let me know.....I'd love to have time to chat with the OWLS. We're all still here......alive and kickin and even though some of us have been missing in action for a while.....we always seem to make our way home.

Brenda - Hey you MAMA OWL !!!!! Now that is one BEEEEAAAAUUUUUTIFUL baby!!!!!!!
Such gorgeous little creatures they are when so young. They really are God's little miracles. I'm very happy you had a GOOD visit with your daughter too. It's amazing what a little itty bitty baby can do to bring families together, isn't it?

Hey Freddie - You keeping warm????? I don't want to catch you trying to dig some snow or anything....I'll have the shoveling police after you if you do !!!!!! :nono: I still don't know when....but I'll get to your place one of these days. Obviously not before NEXT year. LOL.......not even a month away.....THE YEAR 2003 !!!!!! I remember as a little girl...wondering what the world would be like when I was 40 !!!!! I thought it would be like THE JETSONS. ....... and as close as we may be to that.......we're still not there......THANK GOODNESS. I like the "good, old- fashioned way of doing things some times". Don't get me wrong....modern technology is a wonderful thing.....but I also like to hold onto things from the past in my family and make sure they are never forgotten.....family and memories are very important.......atleast that's the way I feel.

I'm done now. Are you all still there???? ..... or have I put you to sleep. ;)

Here's hoping you all have a good night and stay warm and safe.
Big hugs to you all.....

Hi Pamela Jo:

I am keeping warm although I seem to have a cold. I fell again the other day and after I decided I didn't have any broken bones finally got up off my kitchen floor. Now I ache all over and have been taking 600 mg Ibuprofen. The only place that doesn't hurt is the palm of my left hand because when I first fell I decided that is when I hurt and I put an ice pack immediately there (hehehe).Well I can still laugh.

Freddie (who wishes all the night owls Happy Holidays)

got the sprtiz made and they turned out ok this year..new recipe so I will use it next year too! Made the trees with green dough and green sprinkels and drizzled white icing over them like snow and topped with a red dab!! They look nice..........made tons of other stuff too and and I am eating way to much this year..be glad when they are out of the house!

O do two kinds of roated pecans..one with sugar and one with garlic..they are both great!

I always cut back on my healthy food to add in the cookie calories....not a wise healthy choice I know And I will pay with pain.

Ok, so right now I'm making the roasted pecans...Jeff's mom showed me how after she had given me the recipe. They are very easy to do and are soooooooo good! I just use egg whites and sugar and melted butter.

CANDICE: you HAVE to give me the recipe for the garlic roasted pecans. I just love garlic. I can't get enough of it! I do have to agree with Freddie, they do sound yummy!

Nothing much else going on here. Just roasting the pecans and on the computer.

I'll catch you all later.

Bye

Hi:

Does the garlic coated pecans have to have egg whites too? I am not messing with egg whites! I will eat my pecans plain before I do that.

Freddie

ok here is the recipe and it is yummy....... and no eggwhites!!!:)

Garlic roasted pecans

Preheat oven to 300

4 cups pecan halves
1/2 cup butter melted
4tsp worchestershire sauce
1TBS garlic salt (or powder if watching your salt intake)
1/2 tsp tabasco or any hot sauce

Mix together and pour over pecans and coat them. (make sure they are on a greased cookie sheet or I use that release foil stuff.) Bake for 30 min at 300 stirring a few times. Turn out on to paper towels to abosrb excess butter and cool! Store in an air tight container! Yummmy!

Going to go to Virginia Beach to taste your garlic roasted pecans (just kidding!).I can't make them until I get a new stove. I cook everything right now in my microwave, my George Foreman grill, my small toaster oven, and a propane hot plate. Not getting a stove until I have my floor fixed where my son ripped a piece up when he moved my refrigerator in order to get the old stove out, which I donated to the Salvation Army. After the floor was ripped, I canceled the new stove order.

well my roasted pecans well over very well at work! everyone loved them those who do like pecans:) I was pleased to hear it too! I'm going to make a cake this weekend with all the left over eggs I have from using the egg whites. I should use them up and not waste them. Jeff won't eat them cause there are no whites with it. He's picky!

I do plan on making the garlic ones, but I have to wait to get money for the pecans..they are so dag on expensive!

We are having a potluck tomorrow at work and I told everyone I'd bring Pancit(filipino dish). I went over to jeff's parents house so his mom could show me how to make it. I'm am going to slowly but surely learn how to make some filipino dishes. Jeff really wants me to learn how cause after his mom is gone, then there will be no one to show me how and he would like to have some of that food!

Anyways...so many treats at work, it's kinda hard to keep track of what I'm eating, but I am trying to NOT eat too much though in quantity. Trying to keep it to a minimum.

Hope everyone else is doing well! Take care!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!

I just made an Apple Pie from scratch! It smells so good! Mrs. Smith has nothing on me!:)

Jeff has to work today but not tonite! His boss called and reminded him to come in at 3pm rather than 10pm cause they are closed after 6pm I'm guessing! He and I were a bit happy about that! At least now we can wake up together on Christmas morning!

While he's working, I am going over to his parents house for dinner. Plus I'm dragging all the presents over cause I do not want to do it tomorrow. Besides, I'll be bringing two dishes over plus my apple pie.

I had to go the store this morning too to get the apples for the pie. Surprisingly it was not that busy! I was able to check myself out in no time! There was NO LINE!

well, I"m gonna get going. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!

Love, Erica
