What's up people??? I've been checking and checking and the new thread wasn't up..... were you all around when the site was down???
Come on out and play!
I did do my 1 hour biking to work today, but I whimped out on power class. Too tired. There was a storm going home, and I had a lot of groceries as well, and I've been working a lot this weekend and have a crazy week ahead...at least I did do my hoour of the day.
How are you all doing?

I'm here now as well! :) I had a meeting at work first thing, and then at noon a funeral to go to (the husband of a friend) which was at a Catholic church, with a full mass and then a reception, about 2.5 hours in all.
We had a good weekend, including both a lifting and cardio session on Sat. I'll be doing a full-body workout after work tonight. SB - in answer to your question on another thread, yes, still in the PN program, but it ends on 11/30 :( I've really enjoyed it and am much stronger, even though I didn't lose a lot of weight. I've decided to go on when it picks up again in January. I guess even fitness gurus celebrate holidays.
It was -20F (-29C) at our house this morning. :brr: That's much too cold for November! It's a gorgeous sunny day though - as long as you're inside looking out.

I'm here now. Thanks, rabbit. I was so frustrated when the site was down every time I tried to log in. Then I just got too busy.
Today's CF workout was BRUTAL.
3 sets X 5 sumo deadlifts. I ended at 215 pounds :strong: I'll be hurtin tomorrow!
Then row 1 minute, rest 30 seconds, repeat for 5 rounds.
Kettle bell high pulls (35 pd) for 1 minute, rest 30 seconds, repeat for 5 rounds.
Same pattern for sit ups.
This one looked easy but I was exhausted at the end. My feet cramp when I've donw a brutal workout, and I could hardly drive home :p
Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi all,
Glad to see you're still all there & doing well. I'm in for a normal busy day...bike to work etc. I might experiment with my giant erector set aka bunch of galvanised iron this evening, but I'll probabely be too tired. I ordered Rachel cosgrove's book as my holiday present, and I found an interesting workout article on stumptuous yesterday evening...now might be a good idea to get a new WO plan togeether.

Morning!
Rabbit, you are early today. Good to see everyone. But where is Cheryl?
Gymn today. I'll do weights but not too much. Then I'll build up slowly. This is the best way for me. When I start back after more tha a week off my neck & head hurt so much if I do too much. My neck is a trigger point anyway but maybe my form is slightly off. I do check & double check. The good trainers are never there when you need them!

Hey all,!
I'm here, but haven't made it back to the gym yet. Almost made it this morning, but got delayed by a loose dog (my big dog somehow got off his chain, and decided to jump the fence and go visiting...that's why he's chained, even though the yard is fenced 6 ft high all around). By the time I got done with the doggy adventures, got cleaned up and ready to go, it was too late to get to the gym in time to do a workout (they close at 10am), so I just changed into work clothes and will try again tomorrow.
My friend from the gym called to check on me, so I got the scoop from her on what I missed. Might do the little metcon from Monday this evening when I get home, just jumprope and push jerks, which sounds like fun.
:grouphug: to all, since I've got to run out the door to get to work.
Mel
11-17-2009, 09:14 PM
just jump rope and push jerks, which sounds like fun
gaaaaagh! Nope, doesn't sound like fun to me! Anything with a jump rope is torture!
My abs are sore, sore, sore from yesterday. Today's fun was:
5 sprawl burpees
10 push jerks (65pds rx'd for women)
15 box jumps.
AMRAP for 20 minutes. I'm a slow jumper, because I step down rather than jumping down.
I've discovered one of the great things about doing a wild workout after work is that 1) my dh get dinner ready :D and 2) I'm too tired to want to eat! So during the week, my food is really spot on.

Hi all,
Mel - WO looks brutal...especially after work! The dinner arrangement
(not having to cook) sounds fine tough.
Pat - are you thawed out yet?
Biked to work yesterday & was too tired to do anything afterward. The dark days really really sap my energy...or maybve its all the work ... or maybe the holiday stress. I;m in the same old situation again that XH & NL want to do "fun family things" with DD and DS and that really gets me irritated. I'm jealous of course, cause they live with me and I'm normally too stressed & too tired (and they are normally also busy with their own social lives) for fun family things. But I also very much resent the happy family charade of XH and NL showing of great kids. Oh well, better get over this since it won't change. I'd better be planning something fun for me myself in the winter holiday.
WO today is biking to work again. I've a very full week this week with work on every day.

What are your plans for the day?

Good morning!
Weight up today as I've had two bad days corresponding to two days back in my normal life after the virus. And I'm still a bit too tired for the merrygoround. Got more sleep in last night, though. Did not overdo it with weights yesterdfay so I don't have an impossibly painful neck and head. Well done. Cardio today.

Morning ladies, looks like everyone's had some obstacles to the gym lately!
Today was upper body.
2008-11-18
Incline bench: 50lbs x 3 x 6
Dumbbell flyes: 30lbs x 3 x 6
Lat pulls: 8 x 3 x tight black band
Seated row: 8 x 3 x tight black band
Bicep curl: 30lbs x 3 x 6
Tricep dips: 10 x 3
Not sure about this whole lighter weight thing but I'll have to do it anyways as I'm not supposed to lift "too heavy" when pregnant. Not sure what that means really, as many sources say to lift 40% lighter but that silly What to Expect book says no more than 12lbs  I don't think that book is meant for women already into fitness... 12lbs would be 100 reps for me.
Mel
11-18-2009, 10:33 PM
Sacha- Isn't it frustrating what the books say? I was playing racket ball up to month 9 with my first, and only stopped because other people refused to play me! "heavy" is so relative. But I suspect you are soon going to find cleans impossible!
I'm exhausted and not recovering well. I've had horrendously painful foot and toe cramps after each CF workout for the last week. Tonight was the most painful episode. Luckily for me, one of my CF buddies is a physiotherapist and she went to work on me! Ah bliss to be pain free. But I may rest tomorrow.
Tonight's CF WOD:
15 hang clean squats
30 push ups
5 rounds for time.
I wasn't sweating, I was raining!

Mel - sorry to hear about the pain...glad the physiotherapist could help. Did you get any info om what causes this? I googled the hang clean squat...loooks like a difficult move!
Birch - yeah, I'm early! DD has bought herself her own netbook with her own money, so i've got mine back & can check my stuff with my morning coffee before I get up. Glad to see you are recovered.
My plan for the day is bike to work & 1 hour cardio while DD is at dance class. Very busy scedule this week & next, and not feeling to well. I've had a headache for the past 3 days and I'm going for day 4. Food is less than stellar, I might be having some low level virus or something.

Sacha, do you read Cassandra Forsythe's blog (one of the co-authors of New Rules of Lifting for Women)? She is about 5 months into her pregnancy and is still working out hard as well as running bootcamps and KB workshops, etc. She even mentioned flipping tires as part of one of her recent workouts. I definitely don't think she is one of the under 12lb crowd. You might find it interesting.

Just checked out Depalma's link. Saw the second video and though,. "No way is she doing Turkish Get Ups at five months. I just know that much of a flexion in the core area was impossible for me to perform. :chin: I do wonder though how my body would adapt to pregnancy at my current fitness level. Considering I'm six years older now, it would probably counteract any of the positive effects of improved fitness. :lol3: And certainly not curious enough to find out just in case Mr. Lydia happens to be lurking. :D

Depalma, I have checked out Cassandra in the past, haven't seen her pregnancy blog. That's what I like to see!
I have morning sickness this morning.... bluuuugh... I think I'll do my workout in the afternoon instead. I'm trying to force down breakfast right now, even though it is a yummy brekkie.
Mel, sorry to hear about the foot cramps. ouch! Hope you figure a way to help that...maybe you can track down what is causing it and figure out a routine for stretching or :?:
Rabbit, I know all about the superfun absent parent routine. I've learned to just nod and smile, let my boy enjoy it. My ds sees his dad in a good light, and that certainly makes for happier childhood memories than the alternative.
Birch, my weight is up too. The last few days of work have been long days, and food has been crap, plus no gym. Too many late, late nights and being too exhausted to wake up on time. Finally dragged my sorry self out of bed on time this morning, and will make it to the gym. :carrot: Back POP today with the food, too. Actually, it's good, because once the bloat from the sodium and carbs washes out, I should see a good whoosh on the scale. :lol3: I'm pretty sure the workouts/soreness will be bad this week, though, and probably next week.
Anyway, I'm off to the gym. to everybody!

Good morning! I'm here! First I had no 3FC for three days, then I went on vacation... I'm now back from my three day anniversary trip to the mountains, where I did no formal exercise and drank lots of wine. Back to the real world today! I did exercise 18 of the 21 days prior to the trip, so felt okay taking a few days off. Got in a run at the park when I got home last night and feel pretty good.
Rabbit - I'm sorry about the holiday drama with XH, and I know how you feel about them doing all the fun family holiday activities. I'm on the other side, DH's ex has the birthday party, always has Christmas morning, etc.
Cheryl - good job getting back POP with the food! It is hard to get back in the swing after a break...
Sacha - everything I read says something different about weights while pregnant. Hard to decide which way to go I imagine. Hope the morning sickness passes soon.
Birch - glad you are feeling better!
Mel - ouch on the foot pain! Better today?
Pat - cold up there! Wow! Swimming sounds like fun.
Planning on some weight training after work. Don't know if I'll try the three day split again this week or if I'll try for a total body workout of some kind. Will figure it out. Lots going on this weekend and net week, so we'll see.

Hey ladies, I finally made it to the gym this morning! :carrot:
Today was an easy one:
1 Rope Climb
20 AbMat Sit-ups
5 rounds
I decided to do ladders instead, even though I knew it would take me longer than rope climbs, because my shoes have styro and plastic on the insoles (read SUCK for trying to grip the rope!), plus I just learned to climb the ladder, and wanted to see if I could do that 5 times. My time was 9 something, just about the slowest time, but I was still happy, since I was able to do all the ladder climbs!
After the workout, I left my van there, and got my dog Gracie out for a scooter run. Today was the start of our personal challenge to run the Iditarod mileage in one year. Some folks in our scooter club have been doing this, and I thought it sounded like fun, plus a good motivator to get me past the "gee, I should run my dog...maybe tomorrow" stage. So, 4 miles down, only 1045 to go.
Food was almost on plan today. I cooked up 4 salmon fillets at lunch time, figured one for lunch, one for the boy, two left over to get me through dinner and lunch tomorrow. Didn't work out like that. My sister showed up just when they were finished cooking, and pulled out her sad "usual" of dried up overcooked meat (her dh likes to cook, but he cooks things to death then adds about 40 pounds of table salt...blech) and cheese, so I offered her one, then my boy asked for seconds, and it's so hard to get him to eat real food willingly, so there went my dinner. :lol3: Ended up with dinner being a half turkey sandwich my other sister gave to me, while I was at her house picking up the truck. At least that is done!

Morning everyone!
Another busy day ahead today, and then it's the WEEKEND!!!
I did do my 1 hour cardio at the gym yesterday, non-stellar but done. Biking to work did not happen: I was feeling overwhelmed because I also had to run groceries, so I took the car & grocery shopped on my way home. Today is aother day of course, so sitting in a room all day & no WO. I'll have to make up tomorrow, and maybe I can throw in 30 mins elliptical in front of the TV tonight or run on the treadmill a bit.
Shannon- the holiday sounded fine!
Cheryl - Good for you to be back at the gym!
Pat- BRRRR!. It is about 14 C here today. Mucho mucho better than freezing..

I have got a real interesting book from amazon: Muscle medicine. I find it a fascinating read about how the bones, the joints & the muscle work together, and the good thing is the book also covers a lot of issues re sore joints etc and gives tips on stretching & exercise so that the pais of muscles stay in balance.

Grrr, less than 7 hours of daylight now. :( I've had the blahs for a week or so now, and been doing on the bare minimum on things at home/work. I've not been to the gym since last Sat. I've given myself til tomorrow to get over this. I have to go to a work meeting in the morning (yes, on Sat - boo, hiss) and when it's over I'm going to the gym! Plus I got a call yesterday about a series of 6 or 8 adult swimming lessons (more like coaching, as they take all levels) over the last 2 weeks of December, so I'm signing up for that for a change in cardio.
Thought you'd all like to see the large bull moose that was hanging around midtown Anchorage yesterday. Moose Photos (http://www.adn.com/photos/wildlife/moose/story/1020381.html) This is an impressive moose even to those of us used to seeing moose on a regular basis!

Oh yeah, day 1 (whole body) of this last session was a killer! We're on a week of choose your own, which as I noted in maintenance, I seem to have taken as don't do anything. :) I have to decide what to do tomorrow. I might do a NRLW workout for a change, or Day 2, which is a lower body workout and not such a killer as day 1.
Hope the 5K goes well Shannon.

That's quite a moose! I guess I should stop complaining about the herd of deer in my yard. I once stalked a moose in northern Quebec for some fabulous photographs of the moose feeding in a lake at sunset. After I told others about it, I was informed I was crazy and lucky to be alive. Apparently they have been known to charge locomotives.
Cheryl- glad you got back to the gym. We eat a LOT of salmon...probably not as much as Pat.
I just spent a few minutes on Amazon ordering some of the books you ladies have suggested. I bought a Cara Black novel, a Val McDermod book and another book recommended by a friend, called "Loving Frank" about Frank Lloyd Wright and his mistress.
Tonight's WOD was different. First of all, there were only 2 of us there: me and a guy slightly but not much younger, who is the girls lacrosse and field hockey coach and phys ed teacher at a local hs. I've known him for years. He used to regularly belittle me and my teams when I coached summer lax leagues for my dh. It was justified in that I didn't have a clue, but not very nice. He's a lot nicer now. It was fun having just the two of us, but the workout was YUCK! 75 reps of power snatch. 75 reps for time. A 10 minute workout can be amazingly brutal and I was slow. There was a guy's time posted from the morning: 3 minutes :o:o:o
This weekend will be a cooking and cleaning marathon!
Have a good one,

Hi all,
Pat- I hear you on the darkness. I'm having trouble keeping myself out of the blue. it is far too easy to slip into a funk in this time of year. I used a lightbox before, but I think my recent flunk is just stress.
Lydia - are you lurking? Is the lightbox working out for you?
Mel - ouch on the workout. Glad to hear the wo partner turned nicer.
I find there are a lot of guys around that lord themselves over their surroundings. I try to avoid these as much as possible, but not always succesfully. They do not seem to have a clue how obnoxious they are. I had a run in with some of those 2 weeks back when I asked a father assisting his small daughter in the ladies dressingroom at the gym to leave. He did not want to go and told me jokingly that fathers were not considered men in that respect. I do not care for the joke, I truly do not want to use the dressingroom when I find several men there, and I do not care for their ideas why this is a good idea to them. They can wait for their daughters outside. I want to be able to shower and dress after a workout.
Cheryl,Shannon - good for you to be exercising again!
Shannon - what's with the frustration?
I'll have to do a lot this weekend: catch up with the WO yesterday and engavge in the ususal cooking-cleaning-laundry-grocery shopping marathon. I miight get in a yoga wo to get the kinks out of my body from sitting in class from 9 - 18 yesterday all day.

Good morning!
Not a fabulous week. 4 days at the gymn - good. Weight up after the drop down during virus - not good. Keep on keeping on, I suppose.
Rabbit - my experience is that tiny and small girls go in the men's changing room if they are with their fathers, just like tiny and small boys go in the women's changing room with their mothers. Bigger girls manage on their own. Certainly no fully-grown men in the women's changing room!
Pat - nice moose, thank you.
Mel - how is the cramp? Is it a salt thing?
Cheryl - How was your scootering? What does 'line out' mean in dog sledding?
 to anyone I've missed.
jamsk8r
11-21-2009, 01:31 PM
Birch, the scootering was wet and dirty, but fun! Gracie really enjoyed herself, too...she loves to run in front of the scooter. "Line out" is the command for the dog to tighten up their tugline/pull (for the dog that's being lazy and "just along for the ride" while other dogs are doing all the pulling), and/or when you are stopped, for a leader or solo dog to move out in front and hold the line tight and stay, till you give them the okay to go.
Rabbit, I'm with Birch. I've never seen a grown man in a lady's restroom or dressing room. Usually, if they have small girls, they take them into the men's room, until they are old enough to fend for themselves.
Mel, that sounds brutal! On the 3 minutes versus 10, I usually figure, if most everybody is 10 minutes, I shoot for using a weight that will have me finishing about the same amount of time. I know CF is all about praising the faster rx'd time since it ups the "power" output number, but IMO, if you're consistently done that fast, you can only do that so long before those light weights and short times aren't giving you gains in fitness. I see people at my gym that consistently have really short times, because they just use the Rx'd weight, even though it is super light for them at those reps. I think after a while, it's time to up the weights, even if it's more than Rx'd, to push yourself to a new level of fitness, and keep it challenging. My trainer says it's good for fitness, to focus on strength for a while, then when you feel like that's leveling off, stick the weights there, work on paring down your times in the metcons, then after a while you go back to strength work, etc. I'm still a noob, but that sounds like good advice to me. I think I'm near or at the leveling off point with the strength gains, so I may start working on paring down my metcon times for a while, with the weights I'm using now.
Well, I've been on here too long again. got to run to the gym. Here's the CF report from last night:
WOD was a birthday wod for a guy at our gym..
50 pull-ups
Run 400 meters
21 BB Thrusters 95/65# rx'd
Run 800 meters
21 BB Thrusters
Run 400 meters
50 pull-ups
My time was the second slowest in the whole gym. I'm definitely slower, coming off this rest week (and a half)! My pull-ups were especially weak, but I'm guessing I'll get back to where I was quickly, maybe in a week or two? I got back for the last set of pull-ups, hoping for 5 at a time, and got 2. I'm like, "2?! Really! (bleep)" it was 2 at a time for about the first 14, then singles after that. I just tried to keep a rhythm going. 38:50/55#/pink band for pullups, was my result. Average time was more like 20 mins. The pull-ups killed it for me.

Rabbit: I'm here. Yep lurking big time! I'm still studying. I'm about two weeks out from the exam. I'm scoring in the 90th percentile on the practice tests but I need to review a couple of chapters before I schedule the test. I have successfully raked my 1/2 acre yard of all the leaves. That was a major stress for me. Those darn leaves had to fall just in the middle of my studies. It was kind of a nice break though since I wasn't able to get to the gym the last two weeks during this.
This cert has so been worth it for me. Again I can't say enough about how much this program is going to help me even with my own workouts. I'm really excited about being able to apply these principles and seeing what develops.
The light box is fantastic. I have noticed a difference. I'm back to being dorky happy again. I also like having the quiet time in the morning before the boys rush about getting ready for school. Can't wait to see how this affects my workouts once I'm able to focus upon those once again too.
Mel: Enjoy those books! I'm envious that you can carve out time to read. I'm taking a month away from nonfiction to just read fun stuff after this exam. Or, maybe not. I'm looking into getting the books by Stuart McGill about rehab/exercise for lower back disorders. I'm not real sure which one I want yet but either of them would probably be worthy of my library. I'm currently struggling with pain in the SI joint on the right side. Very painful when I stand up to walk after sitting for a few moments. An Xray didn't show any fractures so it's probably soft tissue. Anyway, I have an order for pt but that's just another appointment for me to schedule in. :dizzy:
Enjoy the afternoon everyone! :sunny:

Good morning! Did my first official 5k run today, finished in 33:17. I was pretty pleased with that considering my average per mile time has been in the 14 min range lately. Ran through downtown and along the lakeside, ended back up on main street. Nice way to start the day.
Can't scroll within the text window on the iPhone so have to say good day everyone out of sequence! Good day everyone!
Rabbit - when I first read your post I thought you were talking about dressing rooms in stores, but looks like you mean there was a man in the shower and changing room at the gym? Heck no. Little girl should go in mem's room in that case. And my frustration was caused by DSS acting up in school again. Hit his teacher on Thursday and got sent home, threw some chairs and toys on Friday. It is making us all a little crazy. He was with his mom last night, but with us all weeked and a good part of next week, so we plan to work on reinforcing the message that he is not the center of the universe and doesn't always get what he wants pretty solidly while here.
Cheryl - pullups are always one of the first things to go! They will come back though. Sounds like a good back to the gym!
Birch - I bet the weight spike is just a rebound of water weight after being sick.

Hi all,
wow, thanks for all reactions re: full grown men in the changing and shower room at my gym. I know that that makes it impossible for me to use the changing room, and I know some more ladies were unhappy with these guys being there, but did not say so. I'm glad to hear you all react that fathers have no business in the ladies changing room.
I gave up on my 1 hour exercise per day goal for this week..it just was not feasible. I am so tensed up from lack of time that I had a tension headache for the past week, so I gave up and am taking the weekend off.
Lydia - I thought you would be lurking! 90th percentile? sounds like you are going to ace the test!
Shannon - the "muscle medicine" book is definitely interesting. it has pictures of where all the muscles are and very interesting stuff on how a tensed or cramped muscle can actually be the cause of a number of aches and pains and how you can stretch & exercise to lessen the problem. Very interesting, since I have a number of issues I have to work around, and this is potentially of great help.
Have a great weekend all,

20 min cardio (3.2 mph walk @ 12 incline), sort of a mini-hike. It was an "off day" but I felt like I needed it. Today is off as well.
I'm starting a new weight training program tomorrow - technique development - doing 60% 1RM for the next... hmmm... until the deadlift keeps smacking the bottom of my belly!
On a side note, I had a good meal at the mall today. A chicken burrito from Taco Time with no sour cream and a whole wheat tortilla (grill chicken). About 300 calories and 10g fat. Loaded with hot sauce of course. Shouldn't be drinking a small diet pepsi right now but I had one. So sue me :D

Just a quickie-
I spent today painting and cleaning and am wiped out. No gym, but I worked all day. My back is a mess. And on that note-
Lydia- My last re-certification course was "Low Back Disorders: Prevention and Rehab" using Stuart McGill's book. I got a lot out of it, and will re-read it at some point to actually learn it, rather than just read as quickly as possible to pass the test!
Is Columbus in an uproar? DD isn't even answering her cell phone- she hosted a big party at her bf's house and they were researching recipes for "buckeye-tinis". Sounds good for about one sip, then a really unpleasant hangover maker!

Hey all, did my workout today, a short metcon with snatches and 100 m sprints, they were from the hang position, which totally messed with my head...I can pull the snatch just fine from the floor, but put me halfway there, and I can't think what to do...I never think about the middle of the movement when I'm doing it, lol. Spent most of this workout missing the snatch and falling on my butt.
Did the gym cleaning afterward. OMG! That place was the worst I've ever seen it, from the Level 1 cert last weekend. The weight plates were all in the wrong places, along with barbells and anything else that isn't nailed down. Spent about an hour just putting things back in order, so the boss man wouldn't develop an eye twitch when he gets back in town...he can't stand it when people don't put stuff back where it came from. :D Got the gym put back together and did about 2/3 of the cleaning that needed to be done. Just could not do it all in one day, or I'd have been there all day, since one of the cleaning crew was out sick again today. My son says it's a wonder my two cleaning partners aren't dead, since one of them seems to be out sick every weekend. Not exactly true, but close enough to be funny!
Tonight, the boy and I are going to see the New Moon movie. I liked the first one, so I hope this one is just as entertaining. My sister and nephew are going, as well.
I have a houseful of sled dogs this weekend, 5 in all, not counting my 2, then a little pug coming tomorrow. It seems everybody had to go out of town this weekend. Is there a party I wasn't invited to? ;)

hi all,
Glorious sunny day here!
Mel -ouch for the messed back from all the painting & good luck with the lower back rehab book! I might have to check it out when I'm through with the muscle medicine book.
Shannon - :bravo: teaching little boys they are not the centre of the world!
Cheryl - you're going to see new moon? That is quite a coincidence...D just took the bus to town to see new moon with her girlfriends!
13.00 hrs and I'm tired already...slept late today but woke in the middle of the night and attended to my laundry. My headache is much less, thankfully. Might have had something to do with 6 hours of sleep for most nights last week, and waking up every 2 - 3 hours. I have been raking leaves for the past 2 hours, and I promised myself some rest so I might sneak off to take a nap.
have a great day all,

Morning, all. Finally Sunday, phew! I'm looking forward to a day at home, though I will have to run out for groceries at some point, since I'm out of good protein. Accidentally wrecked a whole batch of chicken Friday night, when we got invited to go skating, and I left the chicken in the crock pot...on low, but still, it was thoroughly killed by the time we got home.
The New Moon movie was fun. Seemed a bit off from the style of the original, but I like the characters and the humor, so it was still good entertainment. Maybe I will read the books, or the boy and I could do them for a read-aloud. There were some parts of this one where I felt like there was a jump in the storyline and I was missing something.
Rabbit, hope you can catch up on some sleep and feel better. I'm always a wreck if I don't get enough sleep for too many days in a row. I definitely sleep better when I can stay POP with the food...for me, it's the grain type carbs that give me headaches and make it difficult to sleep through the night. Only took me 39 years or so to figure that out!
Shannon, good luck with the behavior issues. Difficult to fix when all parents are not on the same page, though.
Sacha, good luck with the new program. Did you decide not to continue with the oly lifting and/or Crossfit?
Mel, hope your back is better today. How's the progress with the remodel and damage control going?
Everybody else, I'd better get off here and do something useful. I've got the pug coming in soon, and a list of "to do"s as long as my arm...rest day, right!

Oy! What a day. I painted hallways, cleaned, baked 2 pumpkin pies, shopped for groceries. I was planning to make an apple-walnut crumble pie using fancy granola as a topping, but had a major run with with the granola before I even got home. The pie never got made and the granola is gone :( I haven't done that in ages and it really presses home the point that I should NEVER have something really tempting to me close by when I'm feeling tired or completely stressed. The really stupid thing is that as soon as I put it in my grocery cart (maybe before?), I knew what I was going to do, and I doubt that anything short of someone wrestling it out of my hands would have stopped me.
In a few weeks I'll have been maintaining for 8 years...and I'm still fight the same demons as when I was 11 years old. Yes, I've learned some new skills but I haven't completely mastered how to use them.
But tomorrow is another day, and back to regular schedule except for the added cooking and cleaning whenever I'm not at work or working out :dizzy: DD comes here late Tuesday night, and by then I have to eradicate cat fur and dander at least.
OK, enough about me, back to the kitchen and the vacuum :)

Pat - is there anything you need from Chester?? I'm nipping over today to do some Christmas shopping. It's meant to be sunny with little wind there. Grey & very windy here.
Shannon - thank you very much for saying I probably had water weight from being ill. When I read that I suddenly felt enormously patient, that I just needed to do what I'm doing & all would be well. And the scales are down this morning!
I'd better get going. Have a good day, all.

hi all,
Birch - very grey and windy here as well. I whimped out on biking again and will go to power class this evening.
Mel - Today is a new day. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now, take it easy.
Cheryl - Yeah, a list of to-do as long as your arm. I recognise that! On my "day off" I have to consistenly remind myself to take some "me-time". DD also enjoyed the "new moon" movie & the books.
I whimped out on biking today, so its power class this evening. I still have a lot of cramped muscles & headaches, waking up at night, waking up in a panic in the morning...all very familiar and a clear sign to take it down a notch, so I might have to shift down the 7 hours wo per week goal. Oh well, it's all for the long run right? At least I raked leaves yesterday, and made split-peasoup for dinner today.

Thanks :) I'm not so sure about the new one either. I can't do OH presses anymore - it pulls on my belly. I dunno what I am gonna do. I stopped Crossfit mom at 6 weeks after a bleeding episode (stopped all exercise until 12 weeks). I'm gonna do a 30 min treadmill hike today and think about it, LOL.

Hi there.
Man it has been a day.... On the upside, I got in a good lower body workout last night. On the downside, a little sore today and my weight is up some. Add that to other stressors and that leaves me grumbly. They are working on the new houses around me so have been hammering sheetrock all day long so I have a headache. I'm at home today with DSS who has no school this week, took it as a vacation day but have been working pretty much nonstop all day with a crisis with our payroll provider on a week when they are already closed for Thanksgiving so payroll has to be done early... I'm taking the day back off the books and using it at Christmas... I now feel guilty for working most of the day while DSS is here, which doesn't help the headache. I'm totally going for a run after his mom picks him up. Gotta get some air, even if it is going to be cloudy and 45 degree air.
Birch - glad I could help, and that the scale is coming back down!
Sacha - be careful with the lifting!
Rabbit - are you okay? Holiday stress keeping you awake?
Meg - sometimes we all lose to the granola. At least now we can have those moments and they not turn us back into our old lifestyle.
Cheryl - I haven't seen the movie, or read the book actually, but I have heard other people say that there were story gaps in the movie as well. I have a friend who is currently reading the books to her girls and they are really enjoying them.
Good day everyone!

Today was Crossfitmom, a good workout. I'm tired of trying to modify a traditional program and will just go with Crossfitmom.
2009-11-23 "Feran"
Warmup: 2 rounds of: 200m walk @ 4.0mph, 10 PVC squats, 10 PVC good mornings
Workout: 15 minutes of: 250m row, 15 x 25lb overhead presses, 15 x 25lb good mornings (came out to 3 rounds totalling: 750m row, 45 presses, 45 good mornings)
Grand total of 33 minutes (warmup, workout, stretching). It's def a lot less weight than I am used to, but it should do for now!

Howdy! I've been chasing my tail for several days, and need to slow down and catch up. :)
Weekend was busy, esp as I had to work 1/2 of Sat. We did get to Anchorage yesterday and knocked out quite a bit of the Christmas shopping. Yay. And I made it through my first of a lot of holiday parties/meals. It helped that there was lots of salad, no alcohol, and the turkey was awful - very dried out. DH happily ate my share of desserts.
Pat - is there anything you need from Chester?? I'm nipping over today to do some Christmas shopping. It's meant to be sunny with little wind there. Grey & very windy here.
Ah Silver. I really liked Chester, and would be happy to spend more time there sometime. We spent about 1/2 a day walking the wall, and another good bit in the cathedral, including attending an evensong service. We also acted total tourists in the huge Tesco there.
It's very gray and windy here as well, and the temps are up to 30ish F, that's near zeroC for you celcius gals. That's a change of 40-50 degreesF from last week!
I'll be very happy to see the end of this short week - I need 4 days off!
Rabbit - I find I don't function well if I have less than 7 hours sleep, and I prefer to have 8. Hope you're feeling better.
I didn't get to the gym on Sat having to work longer than I expected in the morning and then another commitment in the afternoon. Tonight I'll do a cardio workout, and move back to weights on Wed (city council meeting tomorrow night). I did go and sign up for a swimming program thats being given for 3 weeks - 4 nights starting the 15th, then the 22, 23, 29 and 30. I think I can make a lot more progress this way than I did last year when it was once a week, and at 8:30 pm - groan. This year it's at 5:15, so I can just zip out of work a few minutes early. The HS (where the pool is) is less than a mile from work.
I'm making a plan for my next two food events: a pie social at church Wed night and the actual holiday meal on Thursday. Then I have a week before the next event.

Hi all,
Rabbit checking in... no go on the power class yesterday, and seeing that I'm just sleeping and feeling tired and sort of doen, I'm calling this as an official rest week. I looked at my signature and I've been doing about 10 weeks of trying to get 7 hours exercise per week, and with the extra work this is too much of a good thing. I'll start again next week.
Sacha - good for you to stick with the lighter program. Your body is changing a lot so it is difficult to judge beforehand what will go and what not...and in the end it is the consistency that pays off.
Pat, Birch, Shannon, Mel, Cheryl
Going to do some streching & meditation to lessen my stress.

Sacha- CrossFit is not all about the weight, but total fitness. This was a HARD lesson for me to learn. I'm lifting less weight than I used to, but I think am way more fit, able to eat slightly more, and am leaner without losing ANY muscle mass. I really didn't believe for quite a while, but it does work!
Cardio done, breakfast cooking, last day of work for 5 days :carrot:

Good afternoon!
Feeling good here because I went to the gymn and managed to do a bit more (cardio day) than last time. That virus really clobbered me. I can see the ghost of a thin tummy/torso lurking in certain lights so I'm inspired to do more.
Sacha - any exercise is good stuff. Do what you can do. It all counts.
Mel - that's very interesting about Crossfit and its effects on your body.
Rabbit - turn down the heat, any heat, if you're feeling a bit stressed.
Shannon - how long are they going to be working on the new houses? It does not sound very restful!
Pat - you're busy at the moment! And now, REDWALL update. I know your readers are keen on the series. I took DB to Chester Cathedral yesterday because I thought it might be like Redwall Abbey (you know, made of Old Red Sandstone with red walls). We went into the refectory (I expect you ate there if you hung around for a bit) - a huge, high stone room with stained glass windows, a stone pulpit and a massive 17th century tapestry. I had lentil and sweet potato soup but that's another story. DB went very, very still and quiet. He did not want any food. He just sat and looked around and after about 20 minutes told me that this was clearly the inspiration for Brian Jacques' books. There are so many parallels, apparently. Later, we looked at a model of the cathedral grounds and this double-confirmed matters for him. A fantastic discovery for him, and a sheer fluke for me. (And SO told us later that Brian J comes from Liverpool, a few moments down the road ...) And you, Pat, have been there!!
OK, better go. I had such a good day yesterday that I'm feeling anything is possible. Lovely feeling.
Good luck, all.

Hello all! Went for a run at the park last night, am a little sore today. As it is was my sixth day on for exercise I'm thinking today is a day off. I'd hoped to save the off day until Thursday, but I might need a little exercise break from the hubbub then more than I need it today!
Birch - they were putting siding on one, a roof on another yesterday. They have one more that they just poured the pad for so are about to have to start from scratch on it. The fourth is almost done I think. I like the fact that they are building again after two years of being surrounded by empty lots, but wow are they loud...
Mel - enjoy your time off!
Rabbit - rest week sounds good. You have been going pretty hard for a while now. Take a little break.
Pat - your swimming program sounds great!
Sacha - sounds like a good workout!

Oh Birch - how interesting! Our kids are definitely into Redwall - and it's fun to see one come up with the first book and then get hooked. We did eat there, though I'm a little hazy on the look of the room. My photos are mostly of the outside, and my memories of the wonderful singing in the service.
I'm coming to the end of my PN program (11/30) and I need to decide what I am going to do next. I can repeat the whole program starting in January, or I can sign up for an alumni program at 1/2 the cost for as long as I want. The advantage of repeating the whole program is the access to the trainers, and the private message board, not to mention the more detailed reporting. The alumni program would have exercise programs, but would lack the daily check-ins and the message board (you'd be expected to post in the general PN members board). I'm leaning toward repeating the program, as while I've made great strides in my lifting and general fitness level, I've not dropped as much weight or inches as I'd like. I have slowed down as winter approaches, and I think that starting in the winter and moving to summer would keep me going better - besides the fact it would keep me motivated through my retirement date, and I'm really hoping that I'll be able to structure my time in retirement to get to the gym in the early mornings - though not the o'dark-thirty I have to do now to get to work on time. Just thinking out loud here, but any comments are welcome. I'll be interested to see who wins the prize in this session for losing the most % of body fat. Not going to be me I'm sure. I don't think the next session has a prize associated....
I survived my first "feasting" event last Friday night. It was actually disappointing as the turkey was overcooked and dry. Wed night is a pie social at church - which DH will love. I seldom make pie, as it's not a favorite of mine in the first place, and I don't need in the second. He loves pie - almost always orders it in a restaurant, so this will keep him very happy. Darn the man anyway - eats whatever he wants, feeds his sweet tooth, and stays 140 without any effort.....

Ugh, I have been on a cooking and cleaning marathon! I did manage to get to a CrossFit strength class yesterday, and 40 minutes on the elliptical today, but other than that, I've been cooking and cleaning. Today was my first "vacation" day and I made 2 pumpkin pies, 1 carrot cake, 1 apple/walnut/cranberry pie, baked sweet potatoes and cooked all the vegies and turkey sausage that will go into the stuffing. Last night we steam cleaned carpets until 11 pm when I picked dd up at the airport.
I just love holidays! I wish I had a few sisters instead of 3 brothers!

Hey everybody! Happy Thanksgiving! :grouphug:
I'm skipping the feast today, but my son is catching a ride with his aunt, so he can partake. I just know I wouldn't be able to control myself around all the holiday food, and feel like I just got back OP with the food, so I am not ready for a big cheat meal! It's not the meal or the temporary weight gain, it's the week or two after that it takes me to get back on track, that I am avoiding!
I wish the gym was open today! I've got a key, but figure it would probably not be cool to go there on my own for a workout...I can see my trainer giving me the glare, just for thinking it! He's such a mother hen. :lol3: I seriously need to get a barbell and plate set for home, so I can have more options when the gym is closed or I have to miss due to work conflicts.
Mel, what you said about CF. It's hard to trust in the program, when a workout is sometimes less than 10 minutes long, or you're often using what sounds like a light weight, but it sure delivers amazing results, as is.
Sacha, I know it's hard to scale back, but just keep it where it feels safe. The movement is so much more a key part of the program than the weight that you are using.
Rabbit, sounds like perfect timing for a rest week! I definitely felt 100% better after taking some days off.
Pat, I think you're right to go for the full program. I'd take all the trainer support I could get!

Birch, thanks, I did have a good day. My ds went to the feast and had a good time. I stayed home and ate on plan, and enjoyed that. I didn't get a lot done, mostly enjoyed the quiet afternoon and read some of the 3rd book in the Twilight saga, but that's okay for a holiday, right?
I got a good home workout Weds night, then did nothing yesterday for exercise. Was due for a heavy lifting day, but didn't have enough weights at home to do anything like that (grumble), so I just called it a rest day and decided not to feel guilty about it. One more home workout needed today, some sort of bodyweight torture, I suppose, then the gym will be open tomorrow.
We're going to the bridge lighting ceremony tonight, to meet up with some friends form the gym, and kick off the Christmas season. I've never been, but it sounds like it's popular, so we'll check it out. Next weekend there's a Christmas concert which I'm hoping to go to, but it's up in Seattle, a bit of a trek and parking nightmare, so we'll probably only go if we can carpool with my sister and BIL, which somehow makes it more worthwhile in my mind.
Today I need to try and knock out some of the outdoor "to do" list, since it's oddly sunny and the wind isn't even blowing. I need one of these, though. :kickbutt:

Birch - a sandwich and a walk in the mountains sounds like a fabulous idea for a holiday. I feel like the holidays are nothing but non-stop driving, rushing and stressing these days anyway... How is your leg today?
Sacha - I just got a new home gym with squat cage and barbell myself. Luckily the weights are in pounds... :)
Wednesday I did a total body workout, a big smoosh of some of the exercises I've learned from Pat & some others from Women's Health. Thursday was a no workout day, or at least nothing traditional... Lots of running and cooking and cleaning, the some personal time with DH after everyone went home. Today was a 6 mile run at the park, and am thinking seriously about an UB workout. DH & a buddy are listening to some records so I have some time... It is either the UB workout or a bath... Hm... As I ate an estimated 1000 calories of pie yesterday the UB workout might be wiser...

Hi all,
Pat - Happy start to the christmas season?????That is another 3 weeks in my agenda! I have loads of other things before that...it is strange to think that christmas season has started at the other side of the pond. mentally I am not even at sinterklaas season yet, and that is december 6th, so next weekend. EEEKS!. luckily we celebrate 1 week later!
I am seriuosly drowning in work these days, I cannot contemplate that the end of the year is nearing without feeing panic rise. Fortunately I had my last course day yesterday, so I'll have my friday freed up again. The rest of the stuff is training on the job so hopefully it will take less time.
I have not done a sigle day of exercising last week, and I'm getting to the point where I haul myself back into the groove again. I think I'll do another stretch of 1-hour-per-day exercise but for a limited amount of time: a 10 week challenge. That will take me into january and over the holiday season. any execrcise will count: biking, lifting and yoga and zuma. I want to get more stuff into the routine because the weather is getting worse...rain and storm all week, so biking is going to be less in the next week.
I'm into a weekend of grocery shopping, cleaning, picking upping and cleaning.
I can't even think about the Christmas season without panic setting in. We celebrate Hanuka and Christmas, and I still haven't finished clean up from Thanksgiving. I may NEVER host another holiday beyond my very immediate family. My knees and hips are sore from cooking, cleaning, then cleaning up. My brother -in-law mentioned friends that had gone to a local country in for T'giving dinner and the "outrageous" price they paid. I just stared at him. I spent almost that much money per person, had to do ALL the work, and no one lifted a finger (except my dh) to help me clean up afterward. I'm feeling rather scroogey about upcoming holidays.
Yesterday dd and I went to CF- she did amazingly well for not having worked out that way before. It was a simple w/o by Crossfit standards and she does go to the gym almost every day. but the concept is very different from pilates or lifting on your own or doing the elliptical for 20 minutes. She won't go today- says her traps are too sore from the power cleans. But I'm proud of her:)
I have no idea what 2 days of holiday food did scale wise. My jeans are a little tighter.... but I'm off to CF this morning, and we are almost out of any tempting goodies. ds is home, so he will polish them off and I'll be back to lettuce and chicken breasts
Have a good one!

Awesome job to your daughter in her first CrossFit workout. Wouldn't it be fun if they handed out t-shirts stating "I survived my first Crossfit workout"
I'm feeling the end of the year and impending holiday stress too. I'm attempting to sit for my test on the 5th of December so that I can at least put that thing to bed. I keep having conversations with myself that if I gave myself an extra week then I would be so much more prepared. (There is a lot of memorization with this exam) If I put it off, it hits right into the holiday season. Ick. I've got way too much to take care of here so I know i really wouldn't study for a month.
What's the worst that could happen, I don't pass and I pay to sit for it again. Not the end of the world. But...if I do know enough to pass this thing I can move on and actually enjoy my kids. :dizzy:
Eh...I'll keep you all posted. :D
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Mel - ouch on the thoughtless comment of BIL. Hosting & catering to a familiy event is a HUGE task...too bad no-one except DH chipped in to lend a hand. At the very least you have an excuse for future events too come...
Lydia - good to see you! Do sit the test, you mentioned you were in the 90th percentile on trial runs, you'll surely ace it!
Went grocery shopping this morning and cleaned a little, and I'm exhausted again. sigh. I really really hope my energy will improve as this is no fun at all. Its dark has been raining all week. I cannot use all this exhaustion right now.
Have a great day all,

Morning, snow stopped early last evening, but the roads - icky! (a DH report) Hopefully they're better today as I have a gym/grocery run scheduled. A friend of DH's is coming in about 1/2 hour to help put all the furniture back in our newly recarpeted bedroom. Yay!! I should just then move the living room furniture for the Christmas tree while I have an extra strong body here.
Mel - your BIL was so out of line! Maybe next time you should take the $$ and take them all out to eat. Much less stress for the same amount. I really enjoy going to our next door neighbors for holiday meals. Her 4 daughters and several adult granddaughters cook pretty much everything. ANd there's all the little kids to enjoy - and be able go home to peace and quiet when we want - with no leftovers to call our names.
Lydia - hopefully your DH will be around for part of the holidays? I think you're ready for this test (there is over-studying like overtraining, no?) It'll be so freeing to have it over and done and be able to enjoy your holiday.
Rabbit - do you take Vitamin D? The doctors here have found that people who live in northern latitudes have a high percentage of deficiency. You're about 9 degrees further south than we are, but most Alaskans need some supplementation.
GOtta run, dryer is buzzing....

Pat - interesting about the vit D. As a matter of fact I don't. I'll get some and try! Thanks !

Pat, I should probably try that, too, the vitamin D, I mean. I'm feeling good, but it can't hurt, and we don't get much sun, compared to folks closer to the equator.
Shannon, my holidays used to be like that, run run run, or guests and cooking the whole day. About ten years ago, I realized that was NOT my idea of a holiday, so I started up with doing the whole family and friends thing on Christmas eve, leaving Christmas day for eating leftovers and just relaxing...what a difference!
CF was open yesterday, finally, and of course they tried to kill us. BB Thrusters were part of that, and I realized why I hate them so much. I can't get the momentum from the hip drive to go through the stinking bar, so I end up with a front squat strict press, instead of a push press. My trainer helped me to work on that some yesterday. He said that if the elbows are too high on the way back up out of the squat, the bar is not going to get much lift, so the trick is to switch the grip/arm position from the high elbows front squat position, to more of a push press position. I get that, but actually putting it into practice is a whole nother problem for me. At least now I know why the stinking bar wasn't moving, though, and have some idea of how to work toward fixing my form on that movement.
I'm doing my part of the gym cleaning today. Had planned to do it yesterday after the workout, but the guy showed up who does the vacuuming, and his laziness grates on my last nerve, so I decided I'd better wait and go in on my own today. I've gotten to where I can stop myself from cleaning up after the lazy guy, but I just could not be there yesterday, to actually watch the process. Killing is wrong. Killing is wrong... :lol3:

Cheryl - just heard about some shooting where you are. I know it's a big place but I hope you and yours are OK. (I can't get over global news coverage sometimes.)
Shannon - leg is now colourful, thank you! Large egg swelling mostly gone and I can sit on the floor now. Ye gods!
See you all tomorrow. all

Morning all,
morning Birch! Good to hear the leg is flattening out & turning colourful.
Cheryl - Don't get me up on a soap box about men and cleaning, or even picking up after themselves... I said to DS some days ago that I feel that I have faileed as a mother because he just never picks up after himself. OTOH that might be just teenege boy behaviour, OTOH his father was the worst for doing close to nothing but acting like it was nobel prize winning. I love you christmas story.
Today is the hardest day of the next 10 weeks: I have to get myself into that groove again. Powerclass is planned, no biking, as I have another long and strenuous day ahead. Yesterday was pretty intense as well, working on a paper that is almost finished.
Have a great day all.
a word of for all the thanksgiving-holiday-partygoers- Weekend is over people! Time to hit the groove again!

Ah, today is the last day of November, and back to reality day for me. Got up at 5:15 and did the elliptical, raced through breakfast, then a shower in my FINISHED bathroom!
Off to work where I'm sure I have about 5000 emails and projects with a deadline of tomorrow  And I'm wearing heels for the first time in 5 days :faint: That might be the worst part
CF tonight :) I did a double CF class on Saturday- CF strength then a regular WOD. Boy, was I tired. I'm amazed I wasn't excruciatingly sore, just exhausted.
edit: uh oh- just checked the CF site. Today is "Fran"
Have a good one!

Mel - there are some things you should never look at before you go - sounds like CF workouts is one of them.
We have a finished recarpeted bedroom! No more projects til painting the outside this summer. My sister has a new boyfriend (can you say that when they're over 60?) who is conveniently a house painter. :) They're supposed to come visit in Feb, and we may be persuading him to come back in the summer.
My PN program ends today. There is the option of an alumni program or another round both starting in Jan. I'm unsure what to do, as I wrote before. I'll ponder it awhile longer. For now I'm doing some previous workouts and as I mentioned, a series of swimming coaching sessions. My main goal is to make it through to the new year weighing the same or less than I do now. Thanksgiving is past, and I didn't gain anything. :)
BIrch - glad your bruise is resolving.
Whoops, looked at the clock, need to scoot.

Hello!
Been a while (July 21 to be exact), so I'll just dive right in...
Which CF site's workouts are y'all following? I've been doing the main site (crossfit.com) WOD, scaled down. It's fine -- and, of course, free -- but sometimes the number of pullups, even in the scaled-down versions, gets to be a bit ridiculous, esp. for those of us with less than stellar elbows.
Be strong,
K

Hello all! Today is the day I get back on track... I didn't make my UB workout after my run on Friday, was starving so started dinner instead. Then I spent five hours putting out Christmas decorations on Saturday, no real exercise. Sunday I went to the park with DSS & chased him around for an hour and a half. Exercise, but not the intensity I'm targeting. So today is back on the strength training track. Raining and cold, so going to run tomorrow instead of today. That sets me up for M-W-F strength, T-Th-Sa or Su run with the other day off. My goal is to keep on schedule the entire week.
Kaw - welcome back!
Pat - I would be torn between the full and the alumni, too. What is the price difference between the two programs? With the info you already have could you join the alumni version and just keep doing the main program anyway?
Mel - ah, the first day back after time off. I think the business clothes are the worst part! :)
Rabbit - how do you feel after your break? Better?
Birch - glad the leg is improving!
Cheryl - I don't blame you for leaving when the vacuum guy showed up. Don't let people make you crazy.
Good day everyone!

Shannon, the alumni is 1/2 the price, and probably about half the access. I could have a marathon printing session and get all the lessons and exercises from the program - they'll remain posted for 2 more weeks, then we lose our access. Decisions, decisions. Meanwhile, what I need is to get back to being consistent no matter what I do!

Pat - being consistent is the hardest part of any program for me, too... I might print the info out to pdf or paper copies and try the alumni for a little while if it were me. Can you change midstream if you want back into the full deal?

Forgot to post my exercise when I was here earlier. :dizzy:
Today's workout was two-fold... Part one was functional fitness. I came home to discover the expensive, handmade LP shelving I bought DH for Christmas had been delivered today by freight truck and left on my driveway in the rain. No delivery notification or call to schedule as I expected. My builder saw it and they called to get my code to put it in the garage, but only after it had been in the rain for a little while. I unpacked it and it was safe, not wet. The functional fitness part came when in my anger I decided to carry both shelves upstairs to DH's music room by myself. Not particularly heavy, shipping weight was 75lbs and a lot of that was cardboard packing material, just bulky. Got them both up and finished the unpacking. The real workout was Day 1 of the 3 day intermediate split I got off of stumptuous. Figured I had done enough UB with carrying the shelves. :)
The exercises, all done with BB today:
Squat - 1x10x65lb, 1x10x75lb, 1x10x85lb
Split squat - 1x8x45lb/Lunge - 2x8x45lb - same set, could only do one split w/ BB so moved to lunges
Stiff legged deadlift - 1x10x65lb, 1x10x75lb, 1x10x85lb
Calf Raise - 3x10x85lb

hi all,
Shannon - Feeling a lot better, thanks!
YES! I did get myself to the gym yesterday for my power class. It was bad, I was slightly nauseous afterwards, but I did make my 1 hour exercise an felt a lot better for it. Today is a different thing again as I have to attend a school function this evening and I'm not biking to work. I might shift todays hour to a later time this week.
I'm excited because I might be able to get some used weight equipment from our equivalent to craigslist. I made a deal and I'm supposed to pick it up thursday, but I'll believe it when I see it. It 'll be a present for DS, who is now using my stuff (and not returning it to where I use it) but it has more possibilities, so I would like to use it as well.
 to all of you,
Have a great day all,
Rabbit
