Hi Renee ! Your scale is not stuck...your body is just maintaining for now and getting ready for the next big weight drop. Plus I understand completely with all the holidays at this time of year. Maintaining is great for this time of year. If you can maintain your weight for now, I think your doing great. Anyway, I think you are due for another big weight loss drop soon, so hang in there! You can do it!!!
Welcome back Corinna. Those comics gave me a chuckle.
Well - I've been up a couple of pounds. Not sweets - just some carbs. I'm sure it will level out to my current set point. I really wanted to be out of the 140s by the end of December. Discouraging.
Hi Lizzie! You are so close. I think you still may be able to swing it by the end of December. I think 2 lbs a week is a healthy loss and you could squeeze it in. However, you will have to be very dedicated. I know it would be extremely hard for me with all the temptations at this time of the year. But it is possible. Here is a double dose of will power dust to get you started.
Here is a trick to try when eating, if you have the time. Eat very slowly. Put some food in your mouth and keep chewing it until it is so small that it is almost completely dissolved before swallowing. Do this for every fork/spoonful. It will take much longer to eat, but you will be able to enjoy the flavors longer. Plus you will know when you are truly full before you overeat.
That's the way I should eat more often too. I am always so rushed. Perhaps I will try eating that way at my desk at work. Instead of rushing it down in the cafeteria. However, I don't like eating at my desk.
Thanks Corinna. I was just wondering if you're an expat or Australian? Hope that isn't too personal but you mentioned visiting your peeps here. Maybe they are Aussies that live here.
I am joining in here because although I have lost 30+ punds, I have 20+ left to go. Making me nervous - I feel almost like the first part was easier??? Worried about losing my motivation now that I am not looking too bad. Weird I know. Anybody else find that to be true?
Yes, I am in the same boat (and it's low in the water!). I had lost 30-35 lbs in time for a big family wedding and looked pretty good at that point. Perhaps I quit trying so hard to lose as I knew I'd had some success, and the pounds crept back on very slowly till I'm where I am today. <<grrrr>>
I'll never forget that lesson!
You've done well! Are you following a specific weight loss plan?
Irish. I too have lost about 30 lbs. and am now at a stand still. Really hard with the Holidays. But, I'm going to get back on track as soon as all the temptations are out of the house.
We usually weigh in on Saturday. It's a wonderful friendly group with lots of motivation.
