Mel -- Great minds think alike I tell ya, I meant to mention this last night when i posted but forgot. I was also thinking about our old friends from LWL who have come and gone. I even wrote a PM to Adriana. I haven't received any reply yet

Dip --Today is "drink 100,000 gallons of water day" for me too. I was at my g/f's place last night and drank some wine, not too much but enough that I feel dehydrated today...

Today not much on the agenda, I'm resting because starting this afternoon we are going to help at the church supper and we will be running our booties for a few hours... They are always a great social gathering tho...DS can't come because he has a cold and I don't want him sneezin' all over the place *gross*.... But being your typical 15 yrs old he doesn't mind at all...

Later all...

Good morning gals! It's a beautiful sunny Sunday morning here in upstate NY, and although it's only about 30 degrees, I hear a walk on the golf course near me calling my name, so after taking care of the breakfast dishes, I'll be off.
I wanted to share that I think my scale may be playing nasty tricks on me. As a rule, I weigh myself every day, just to keep an eye on it. I don't let it make me crazy, and typically it's pretty steady from day to day.
Well, this morning, I got on before getting into the shower, after eating breakfast (PP and OJ) and some coffee - and it said 195! Not that I'm not thrilled, but I am skeptical that it is correct, after just seeing a decrease Friday. Guess I'll wait and see how the rest of the week's readings play out. I would be so happy if it really is true....;-)

Meg and Mel - I think it's great that you gals got to meet. I've been on a list for single women for the past 5 years, and have actually had the opportunity to meet 3 of them now, and it's just the weirdest experience - you're anxious because you're thinking you don't really know the person, but then in the end it's just fine, because you DO really know the person! I think it would be great if more of us could get together some time.

Well, I'm off to clean, walk and get things ready for the week ahead. Will try to check back later!
Cindy

I'm here, I'm here - I've been lurking somewhat for the past week or two. I've had some "relationship issues" that I'm dealing with at the moment, and just haven't been in the mindset to post for quite some time, though I still make a point to read when I can. Let's just say that long-distance relationships are NOT easy...

But moving on... I ran 3 miles in 28:21 yesterday, down from my previous time of 31:15, so I'm feeling pretty darn excited about that. I joined a "group run" class at my gym, and we meet twice a week - has been a real motivator, in terms of getting me to work on my speed. I'm up for another 5K later this month (the "turkey trot" on Thanksgiving Day), and have semi-committed to training with a few of the people in my running group for a half-marathon, to be held next May.

I gave myself a challenge last week to NOT eat any of the sugar-laden goodies that infest our office almost daily - and is it just my imagination, or did the size of my gut actually decrease after just one day of this? That was my incentive to continue avoiding the sugar for the remainder of the week. Now, mind you, I did split two after-dinner desserts this week (one on thursday and one on satuday), but it felt so much more satisfying to eat something I actually *wanted*, rather than old, crusty donuts and candy that I don't really like, just because they're there. Chris, I envy your will to stay away from sugar for 2 weeks in a row!

Audrey - congrats on the wedding! Where are the pics?

Meg - sorry to hear about your son, and as everyone else has already said, his health/nutrition savvy mom is definetely going to make things easier. (And by the way, totally cute pic of you and Mel!) I had to laugh at your caution about the sugar alcohols - about 6 months ago, i discovered all of the sugar-free candy out there (brought on my the debut of SF Reese's Cups), and I majorly overdosed on them one afternoon. Long story short, the next morning, I had to actually LEAVE the office to take care of business at home (no way could I have made my coworkers suffer like that). It's funny to me now, but I was in *such* pain at the time...

Dip & Cindy - awesome on the below 200! How fantastic does that feel?!

ledom - good for you for staying on track. I've mentioned this before, so I'm sure I'll bore everyone else, but I've never actually followed BFL 100%, and I still feel as though I've made excellent strides. I think it's the "all or nothing" mentality that can ruin someone's progress, as well as their state of mind. My results have come slowly, but they've come nonetheless. Just do what you can, following the *basic* principles and integrating them into your life as you see fit.

Hello to everyone else - I'll be sure to post regularly this coming week - I think it really does help me to stay accountable to you guys (and you're also a swell bunch of gals to chatter with, which helps)
