Thanks Kelijpa, I do feel better today. Good job listening to your body!

I have a birthday party out at a Japanese teppanyaki place to attend tonight and I have already perused the menu and made my plan so I won't be tempted to stray.

Kelijpa - Congrats on Week 2 !!! On to week 3, whoo hoo!

Today I felt a bit snackish and weak-willed in the afternoon so I've had my lovely dinner early and closed my kitchen. I also delayed going to the grocery store until tomorrow so I wouldn't have to battle my way past the evilly delish Newman-O's (oh baby!) and the perfectly crusty-on-the-outside-but-soft-on-the-inside and oh-so-fattening baguettes (oooo la la!).

I will shop tomorrow in the morning when I *don't* feel so snacky and it will be so much easier to bring home only healthy stuff.

I had the snackers today as well, I know why, chose to finally have the English muffin I've been craving, opened Pandora's box it felt like! Fought it all day long at work, finally subsided, my good choice today was to do my crunches, planks and push-ups finally around 8:30, not the best time but did them.

Best to all

I did my c25k training even though it was 86 degrees out!! Week4 Day1 -done. Longest I've ever run (though not the farthest probably - I was being passed by walkers at one point!)

Kelijpa -- I really need to do planks. I say that over and over, and then I never do them. I will do planks today. I will.

Coops - Good job getting it done in that kind of heat, yow, those are brutal temps for running!

Coops-great job, I'm doing week 3 day 1 today, I'm doing it on the treadmill, we had that wicked humidity the last few days, sweated buckets just walking at lunchtime.

Mrs Snark - I just do 3 for 30 seconds each, i use the stopwatch on my phone, for some reason that little timer keeps me going, I alternate with a set of 10 knee push-ups someday I hope to be able to do do big girl push-ups, lol.

Hope ev1 has a good day

I did my planks yesterday (!!!!)! Just call me Mrs. Planky McPlankster because I got'er done!

I also did 25 incline push ups this morning, working towards regular ones.

Today at some point I am supposed to put together a body-weight strength routine to do to accompany my running. So I will do that.

Kelijapa - I have been doing all my running on a treadmill, I have ZERO heat tolerance. I am looking forward to some cool-weather outdoor runs at some point though.

My whole county has been underwater for several days now. I'm lucky, I live at the top of a huge hill and although some of the roads have been blocked, we've been quite safe and comfy. Many of my friends are not so lucky.

I've been so scared about emotional eating, because I'm about to enter a difficult time in my life with my husband being in the middle east for most of the year.

So if I can take any silver lining from this flood, it is that I didn't overeat. I was scared, I felt helpless, I cried and was angry, and there were sleepless nights listening to the evacuation sirens for the people by the river at the base of the hill.

But I stayed on plan through it all. For me, that's major. I can't keep bad stuff from happening, but I can change how I react. I'm stronger than the worst things life can throw at me.

And for anyone reading this facing a looming crisis, if I can do it, you can too.

Wow, tefrey, I'm sorry to hear about this crisis in your area, I hope everyone will survive. And I'm sure your stress over your husband leaving is out of this world!

Good job on not eating your stress & emotions, it never helps and only adds to our misery, but somehow it is often what we want to do!

Tefrey-so sorry to hear you're in those terrible circumstances with the flooding, proud of you for handling ins healthy way.

Mrs Snark- sorry about your arms...mine are sore, too if that's any consolation.

I'm about to make a good choice and take my little dog for a chilly walk, weird weather, only in the 50s after sweltering a few days ago, then I'm planning on forcing myself to drink my water, for some reason haven't drunk a drop today, of water that is...

Best to all

50 degrees sounds soooo good. We are dying for a bit of cool weather here (in Florida).

I put my bodyweight strength routine together, today will be day 1 for the full routine, and I'm going to try for 3 to 4 times per week. 3 times seems reasonable.

It consists of 3 to 4 circuits of the following movements done pretty much back to back

squats
push ups
planks
jumping jacks
reverse lunges
lying hip raises

We'll see how it goes.

I need to get my strength training back in, got the c25k in, week 3 day 2, yippee. DH and I just went for a quick little hike,I was feeling it in the quads!

Hopefully I can get back to my whole routine this week. Thanks for the inspiration Mrs Snark.

So, my good choice today was to hit the treadmill before lunch before time slipped away on me.
