I've had an awful few days as far as food goes. I may be back on track today. So far my meals have been POP.

Hi to everyone. It's great to see so many old, and new, faces posting.

I am so proud to say I lost 10lbs. This has really set my commitment to continue. Question: What does POP stand for?

Ann- congrats on the 10lb loss!! Pop=perfectly on plan.
Well I was busy all day baking cookies for church. I didn't sample them. I had kids so I was super busy. I fed them lunch and kept baking. I skipped lunch. At the fish fry I did ok. But about time to start home my stomach kicked in. I know better than eating a bigger meal on an empty stomach.
Back on track today. Scales are way up from tom.
Judy how did you do yesterday?

Oh I skipped dessert at church!!

I'm anxious to hear what the doc said too Mountain. Please keep us posted.

I had an appointment with my doc this morning - just bloodwork for insurance. Everything was great except my weight. I was probably harder on myself than he was. Lose weight and get moving - so need to do it!

Seems like I've worked very hard since my last visit to the doctor last year to gain 4 pounds. With consistency that number will be much different next year. I also know how much difference this could have been the other direction. Maintenance at this weight makes no sense.

I am following the diabetic diet 1200 calories. I get 1-2 carb choices per meal, 1 carb=15gm.
I have been having a half a sandwich for lunch which is 1 carb choice. I don't have any fruit in my diet so I decided to add applesauce unsweetened which is 1 carb choice. I am having a panic attack now over eating 2 carb choices since I was losing and only ate 1 for lunch.
Please tell me I am being irrational!

Ann - eating 2 carbs isn't what got us above 300 lbs. Hope you've worked through this and are feeling better.

Two-thirds of the way through the weekend and I'm POP. Granted Sunday is my hardest day but a plan is in place.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Hello Ladies,
Well if you have read my diatribe on the general chat bit don't panic here is something positive! The nurse said it was intertrigo which is part yeasty and part inflammatory and prescribed Daktarin cream. It worked like magic! After 4 days I had no trace of it...and it had been awful. Memo to self....go to the blooming nurse and don't be embarrassed!
Anyway as far as prevention goes she recommended Vaseline or some thing to allow the skin ease of movement, like the coconut oil. She said when she retires she is going to write a book entitled "1001 uses of Vaseline" as she thinks that it is vastly underated! I haven't been able to exercise this week ( long story) but will be testing it soon!

mountain walker - So glad you got that cleared up. I often use Vaseline followed by talcum powder to keep me comfy.

I did good until dinner yesterday, then overdid. Hoping for better today.

Just noticed a typo....it's daktakort not Daktarin! You get it as talc for Athletes foot.....so you could say I have athletes crevices and bit under me boobs.....yeuk!

Had a POP weekend and got great results from last week's bloodwork. I feel so good with the results it is very motivating to continue - I'm also very stiff, especially getting up after sitting, need to get back to exercise.

Let's do this!

I got right back on track yesterday. I even skipped dessert again at church and home. My baby is craving pumpkin roll and I made 4. I am not a pumpkin fan so not a problem to ignore it! We shared with the neighbors and my daughter took a whole and a half home with her. I took one to a function at church.
My goal this week is no diet soft drinks and lots of water!

Way to go carol on staying op all weekend.
How is everyone else?? Who is exercising regularly? I have to make myself get back to it!

Allergy season is here full force went to the dr and got a steriod shot and antibotics. She also added a 2nd blood pressure med because it's staying up. We had the much dreaded weight talk. Hoping when I lose the weight I have gained back that I can go back to just one med.
