Welcome April! I'm in your same boat, as I am also 5'2" and started out around your weight, and even still I'm more girth than height. There are so many lovely and supportive people here. I also have a husband who doesn't understand the physical challenges and anxiety associated with being this overweight (he's big, but he's also 6'3"). This group of people in the 300+ section are amazing, you'll love it here.
Jane: I assure you there are many more fun places in the US than Wisconsin... like... NY is baller
Still compiling snack ideas! I love string cheese, I think I'll be adding that
We chose Wisconsin because when we went out east last year, we missed it because both coming and going it was at night. MY goal is to see all the US and Canada. I haven't made NYC yet, but I've been to Chicago, and my goal weight trip will be LA.
I've never been to Chicago, I'm jealous. We've considered living there, but there were like 70something shootings there on the fourth of July, I think we'll pass. I haven't seen most of the US, most of my life has been situated all around NY (except NYC, cause, yeah I'd rather not.) but I have been to Alberta Canada, woohoo.
I think I'm plateauing -- anyone else in the same boat?
Wheezypi... I have been at the same week for a little over 2 weeks... but this morning the scales moved just a little... I have been staying faithful, eating within allowance all but one day (it was only over a little), walking every day and trying to get water and sleep in... I know that 2 weeks was not a long plateau but it seemed like it was...
Jane -- I'm big on traveling as well. I've been in all 50 states and about half of the Canadian provinces. I LOVE Wisconsin -- lots of great memories from vacations as a child.
Wheezypi and pjv34 -- no plateau, but I've been binging like crazy. Does anyone else have trouble with getting close to a decade point and then thinking that means they can have a treat.......which turns into 3-4 days of eating stuff I shouldn't followed by a weight gain? Man, I've got to break this cycle!
It's gorgeous here today, so I'm going to work in the yard and the garden. I may end up taking a ride later on, but I want to get a walk in as well. And I'm going to make it through the day without eating a bunch of stuff I shouldn't!

OMG me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm struggling with this at this very moment. I am 1.5 lbs from goal weight #1 (at which I promised myself a treat of getting my first Pandora charm) and I know I can hit that before the end of the week. But I am dying to have fried chicken/mashed potatoes for dinner tonight (lol) which would likely push that goal out 2 weeks. UGH!
So instead, I ate a chicken healthy choice meal that was 250 calories along with my water with lemon and I think I'm going to make it.
JANE -- has MEMOSYNE been around lately? I scoured the last two threads but didn't see her name. Has she been away for awhile? I just got back home myself and opened some late mail and gifts and such; and there was a letter from her. I wanted to thank her but when I type in her moniker name, it says that it is an incorrect spelling.

Good for you Dreamgyrl on making healthy choices (no pun intended... lol)!!!
I was so wanting some sweets today and went by my mom's house but decided I better walk while it was not raining at the moment. Yay Me too!
Maybe that's why I'm not losing as fast, I refuse to not give into my cravings to some extent. Usually I find healthier alternatives, but man, sometimes I just want a damn cheeseburger.
Man -- look at all of you making good choices and not giving in to the cravings. I've got to get back on track -- have gained 6 pounds in the last week so basically am starting this month over. NUTS!!!!!!

Ladies - when I have eaten "off" plan the first thing I do is increase my water intake (I also mix a sprinkle of epson salt in my water with a slice of lemon). I've noticed that when I do this, the gain is very small or not at all. I also do this the week before my TOM (which is I retain water and ballon up like the Michelen man).
