The beginning of a new month and on a Monday. Sounds like a good time with no excuses to make it a POP day!

ubee- I boil it down with a little bit of light butter and salt and pepper. I also will add a pinch of sugar and flip in over into a skillet and cook it down til it sticks(my grandmothers way of cooking it). I will slice and meal it and then add it to a skillet with a little olive oil and scramble fry it.
I also have made a squash casarole using sliced squash and cream of mushroom soup and a box of stuffing mix. It wasnt my favorite but my sister inlaw loves it. I have made squash patties with an egg and a bit of bread crumbs but those dont thrill me either. I love it on the grill, just slice and brush with olive oil and let it go. I also do a cookie sheet full in the broiler and let it brown. I made squash chips last year...took to long and I at them way to quick.

Well our year is half over, we all have time to make real progress this year towards our goals if we start today. I am up 5lbs since the middle of may and I dont want to gain the rest back. So today I will stay within my 1200 calorie range, I will drink all my water and I will find some kind of exercise to do.

Good Morning Everyone!

Yesterday was OP and I have a plan for today. My weekly weigh in was today and I am no longer extremely obese. I am plain old obese.

Debbie, thanks for the squash tips. I love it and needed a healthier way to make it.

Have a good day everyone!

Nothing too special going on here. Just cranking away at this class. OP today and I even got my exercise in. Determined to make July a better exercise month than June was.

Here's another squash recipe: saute in very small amount of olive oil with garlic and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Heat!!

Congrats on the loss, Ubee!

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday was sorta OP. I have a plan for today. I can tell it will be a struggle.

Thanks Pam and Angela! I'm glad you were both OP yesterday. Hopefully it is contagious. I love garlic and would have never thought of using it for squash. Thanks.

Have a good day!

Hello Everyone!!!

I don't think I posted this before but I was keeping up with the miles I walked in June. My grand total for the month was 69 miles. I didn't make the 80 I was looking for but I am going to shoot for that in July. The really cool thing about it is that is probably 69 miles more than I walked in the first 4 months of the year combined. LOL.

Now I am about to sign up for my next 5K. One a month that's what I am shooting for.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

Alright I had to report back in...

I signed up for two 5Ks. One on July 27th and one on August 10th. I won't do another one after that until Labor Day weekend.

So I have to get back to walking more today. I had dropped off and for the past few days only walked 1.6 miles. Today I walked 2.4 miles. I just need to make sure and walk that much or more every day.

I think I told y'all but my friend's husband said when I came around that corner the other night at that 5K that I didn't even look out of breath. I really wasn't it is just my feet that still have not caught up with me. Once they get get used to all this walking then I ramp it up a little more. The really cool thing is that several people can tell I am walking much better than I was so all this hard work is paying off. Also as I said at some point, the more I walk the better my feet get!

I just had a thought... it is a huge NSV for me to say that on my slow days I walked 1.6 miles. As recent as the spring my slow days consisted of walking from the house to the car and back. LOL. So YAY Me!

Scary moment this morning - I've got to put a new tip on my cane. It's worn down so I rotated it the other day, which throws me a bit off balance. I was heading to go out the door when Paige the Pointer cut in between me and the cane and for the first time in years and years down I went, very softly for a large woman.

You've heard "I've fallen but I can't get up."? When you knees don't bend it becomes a problem. I rolled, and wormed myself into the living room. Tried to brace myself on the sofa - nope. Had to use the foot stool. I launched myself across it and maneuvered myself upright. YAY! (I've got to run the vac. today though. I'm wearing a lot of Paige hair from the rug.) :0

I'm fine, nothing hurts, Knees actually feel good now. Guess I've scared myself back to WW though and I need to talk to Paigey about hallway manners. PHEW!

Before the fall I'd done my grocery shopping. Nothing I shouldn't have purchased. Have lunch and dinner and snacks planned as OP.

PJW: I'm impressed. You go girl.

Heather: Hope you're successful in your house hunt today!

Angela: Wake up.

Ubee: Sicking to that plan is the key. Be strong!

Carol, Deb, everyone else: Thinking of you all.

Hi Everyone!

Pam, great job on staying committed to running! You can do this. I have a mature friend who is a runner. He has 3 pairs of running shoes that he rotates. He says all the pressure wrecks havoc on the cushion/support and it takes 3 days for their form to come back. Just something to think about. Remember, I'm cheering for you!

Angela, nice to see you checking in. Take care of yourself and get enough rest!

Heather, I hope you find a nice home where you will be content.

Debbie, glad you have cooler temps and life is calming down.

Judy, sometimes life sends us a little curve ball, sometimes it's is furry and helps us get back on plan.

Hi Carol, and everyone else stay strong!

As for me, I will be taking a little break from here. I have a medical issue that needs my attention. When I come back it will be with rings on my fingers and bells on my toes!

Thank you for all the support so far. Ubee

Ubee... I wish I was running... only walking for now... but I will get there...
today I logged 3.36 miles... I just want to maintain that amount of mileage so that when I do my next 5K it won't be so hard on me....

Hope all is well... praying for you and your medical issue... take care of yourself...

J-ann... sorry about the tumble... your story reminds me of a few years ago... I had just gotten home with some groceries and as I went up the 3 steps to my door I just lost my balance... we decided that I was that one person who instead of falling downstairs I fell upstairs... LOL... I am just glad you were not hurt...

Heather... good luck on hunting a house...

dgramie... I am loving the cooler temps here... unheard of for July... YAY!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful 4th!!!
