My 2 cents on tea is I don’t think the benefit is enough to force it down if you don’t like it. Caffeine isn’t the greatest thing to consume for weight loss and/or energy. I know you can’t have any in phase 1 south beach. I try to limit caffeine to 2-3 servings a day and drink a lot of water (when I’m being good ). I drink a cup of coffee in the morning and maybe a diet coke later in the day. I really like caffeine free herbal teas. I like bigelow chamomile mint and chamomile mango tea with a packet of splenda. You get the antioxidants without the caffeine. I find a cup of light tasting herbal tea relaxing at night. I’m sure there are benefits to drinking green tea regularly but I wouldn’t get too crazy about it.

Also reanbean and candice1022 thanks for the encouragement. Things are definitely looking up and I feel good about the direction I’m going in (weight loss, career and otherwise). It was just nice to wake up to my laptop turning on and some good news after yesterday. All day I felt so happy.

The office party was ok. The hot guy didn’t show up but regardless it’s still fun to look at him during work and flirt a little (I keep it subtle and tasteful). I enjoyed getting dressed up for the party tonight and ended up winning a digital picture frame (merry Christmas nana).

CountryBarbie – I would join your group just mixing fb with 3fc makes me nervous. I’m sorry. It’s great that you’re putting yourself out there like this though and getting so much accountability. You’ll be in ONEderland before you know it.

It is caffeine free herbal tea that I bought ... I checked that later when I read the box and its all good... the green tea isnt so bad anymore i added a drop of milk to it... and I actually enjoy it now.. a cup before bed

Sucks that the hot guy wasnt there but like you said you still got some eye candy at work And its good that dressing up wasnt a chore and you actually enjoyed it and had fun... I hate dressing up!

Scarlett it is fine. I understand so no need to be sorry just the link there for anyone who would like to.

On the tea subject I only drink sweet tea from McDonald's. I don't like coffee. I drink unsweet tea as long as it is made at home by me the way my pawpaw made it. He was a diabetic and wouldn't give up tea and so the way he made it tasted so yummy not like unsweet tea you get at restaurant. As for coke I can't drink any of that because of my kidney's. Only coke product I can drink is sprite.

This morning I ran a 5k. My friend registered her mother and her mother bailed. Therefore I used her 64 year old mother's registration and didn't have to pay. I ran a great race and beat my personal best with a 31:14 time. We stuck around for the after party. My time ended up being good enough to win 3rd place in the 60-69 Female age category. I got a little bronze metal and everything (my friend picked it up for her mom).

I've been pretty lax with my diet lately. Thankfully I've been mostly maintaing though. Tomorrow I'm re-starting phase 1 south beach and hope to put in a solid 2 weeks of strict eating before the holidays. It should be enough to drop 5-10 pounds and catch back up to my ticker. The sugar withdrawal is going to be massive.

@Scarlett, LMFAO! What a story. Congrats on the 5k! Amazing!

As far as weight news goes, I finally broke through that 165 - 166 plateau I've been on for the last couple of months. I'm into the 162 range! Unfortunately, exams are here, and the gym is closing for a few days. Hopefully I don't see any significant weight gain during that time (*crosses fingers for temporary weight maintenance rather than loss*)

I had a great morning! I jumped on the scale and saw 174.5!!!! I didnt weight myself a second time to see if the scale was off, because well... I don't want it to be off! After over a month of the scale moving almost nothing, I finally see a change!! Im floating on clouds right now! Now... if I can find a way to survive the christmas party tonight, and a week long cruise next week without putting weight on... that would be nice..

Great losses so far everyone! I'm so proud of us girls!

Let's maintain or lose just a little (so we can stay sane through all the food related holiday events).

I watched this awesome video of a woman who lost 282 pounds in 3 years!

http://gma.yahoo.com/video/health-26...-27563061.html

Moving this week into a storage unit, then going to texas on friday.

Stress is making me lose weight, but hopefully that means i can eat more when i party.

Glad everyone seems to be doing well. I've managed 2 consecutive days OP and am setting the alarm for 6am to get a run in before work yay for it now being dark at 5 pm. Excited to see what the scale says tomorrow.

My brother is testing my patience big time. He offered to do me a SIMPLE favor and now a gazillion texts and emails later still no updates. He stopped answering his phone. GAH!! He's a drama king that insists on making everything so difficult. Now It's time to go to bed and I'm wide awake and annoyed.
