Default Hunger !! :-(

Since trying to eat better and eat 5 small meals a day I am hungry all the time ! My tummy hurts and rumbles & I couldnt take it. After 3 days I sat here and made a large tortilla with pickles, miracle whip, 2 slices of cheese & 2 slices of bologna then scarfed down a WW ice cream bar. Now I feel guilty but not hungry. How do you all handle it ? For me hunger is the worst part to any diet.

Thanks.

Hi Dawn

When Im hungry, its usually because I havent eaten properly. (too many carbs without a protein) When I get like that, I'll up my protein, use your extra weekly points if you have to, to get it in. Also, I'll have a protein with a carb, such as an apple with 1oz cheese. Good Luck to you

When I have done WW in the past (just thinking about trying to start it again this week), I made big batches of the "zero points vegetable soup". I ate it with my lunch or as a snack and you really feel like you are eating more. You can find it by doing a search under the recipe section of the website. Good luck!

when i feel like im hungry and ive already ate, i first try and just drink some water. if i still feel hungry after that i'll grab a low point snack, maybe a piece of turkey (2 pts) or something like that. dont forget your flex points

The 0 Points soup is a great suggestion!! I try to keep a container of it in my fridge ALL the time! It makes for a great snack, and it also helps make a meal seem a bit bigger!

But as said, also make sure you're getting enough protein! Because I find that my hungriest days are my days lacking in protein.

Protein, Protein, Protein! It takes longer to digest & it obviously makes you feel fuller longer. My suggestion would be to eat some protein with your breakfast in the morning. & your other meals! If I feel hungry I like to drink water first. If I'm still hungry than I like to go for low points such as baby carrots. If I need that munchy taste I go for some popcorn or pretzels.
Wish you luck!

great suggestions all.. I get like that too at times and whole foods fill you up more than processed foods.. if I have cream of mush soup just adding green beans to it stuffs me!! don't know how much protein is in that but later I will have some low fat ritz and an oz of lf cheese and some grapes.. kicks that hunger outa here..

You might also try eating more fruits and vegetables. I have to plan or I don't get enough. The first time I tried counting points I didn't change my eating habits that much; just tried to limit the points. Of course, I felt hungry ALL the time. When I couldn't take the constant hunger I gave up.

This time around (only 2 days so far) I'm making an effort to make better choices, more whole foods, including fruits and vegetables.

Hunger normally hits me in the evening, so make some low-fat popcorn, pour a diet coke, and that normally does the trick. (anytime between meals, I'll grab a 1 or 2 pointer to tide me over.) If you toast two pieces of wheat, or WW bread, and squish a piece of cheese in the middle, you've got a 2 or 3 point "grilled cheese". (depending on what type of bread/cheese..etc.) Hope that helps!
