Default Weigh In At Home 4/3 - 4/9

Where the heck is everyone?

4 lbs gone this week!

Off to check the tail end of last week's thread, and back later.

Karen ~ I'm here. WTG on the 4lbs, I'm sure when I step on the scales tomorrow your 4lbs will have found their way to my hips. I've not exercised in the last 5 days except for as goalie at indoor soccer last night. I need to pick myself up as I've been feeling a little down lately which is really affecting my food choices and my commitment to exercise. Hopefully Bradley will be back at school tomorrow so I can get out for a walk.

Tanya – Alpaca?? That’s pretty exotic for my neck of the woods. Think of the lack of exercise this weekend as a well-deserved rest. Maybe your body was telling you it needed a rest. I’m sure, knowing how dedicated you are, you will be exercising again in the next day or two. Four boys??? You deserve a medal for any time you find for yourself. I am in awe! I’m so sorry that Bradley isn’t feeling well. I’m sorry you’re feeling a bit down – I hope today finds you feeling a whole lot better! Here's a little inspiration

Karen – AWESOME loss, girlfriend! You deserve it.

I’m here too – I took a no-weigh day (I like to think of it as a “no way” day) on Saturday but stayed for my meeting. It was on activity and it inspired me to try and ramp up the exercise. When I got home yesterday, I decided to try a step workout. Step is really my favorite but I haven’t done it much at all because of my hip. I decided that I’d try one step workout a week and I did 30 minutes of a tough workout last night. Saturday was fun – I slept really poorly on Fri. night and was so bushed that I begged out of the dinner (it would have meant driving to my parents and back after shopping). It worked out well because my mom was a bit tired and after some relaxation after shopping, I got my resume on an online system that a lot of school districts use. I managed to snack only a little – a victory since Tony was away. Sunday I spent a lot of time in the garden, cleaning up and pruning roses. That was my activity for the day! I’ll be doing that again this weekend if the weather cooperates.

Have a great one!

Well the pound I lost last week found it's way back again. So I am back to square one now! The weekend really did me in! I think I need to change my weigh in day to Friday again and then I'll have my flexpoints for the weekend. Weighing on Monday just doesn't seem to work for me, plus I spent all my extra flexpoints before the weekend. This week I am going to try not to use any flex until the weekend gets here. We are supposed to go to dinner Saturday night with friends. I'll try to save them for that day!

Great job Karen!! Keep up the good work.
Judy, I have been doing yard work tooo lately and it's very much a workout!
Tanya--don't beat yourself up. You have to take care of the boys when they are not feeling well, and sometimes that puts a damper on the exercise plans. I've been there too. But soon he will be better and you will be back on track!

Work was stressful yesterday, I even dreamed about it last night--didn't sleep well. I think I am going to take a nap before I go get the kids from school. I feel guilty because there is still so much to do, but I want to go to Latin aerobics this evening and I'll never make it feeling this tired!!

Quick check in before I drop the boys to school. Just as I suspected - a 1lb gain although I'm surprised, with my bad choices over the last 3 or so weeks, that I got off so lightly. Back into it today!!!! I'm going to exercise this morning. Bradley still has a horrible bark so I'm keeping him home from school, but he's well enough to sit in the car beside the reserve so I can go around it for a while. I'll incorporate some jogging to make sure I make the most of the little time I'll have. Then I'll do my ball when I get home.

Be back later.

Just finished my exercise and feel so much better.

Judy ~ Thanks for the inspiration - so far today it seems to be working. I think the gain this week was what I needed to shock me out of my slump. WTG on the step workout - I love step, it's so much fun. Sorry you missed out on dinner with your parents, but it's great it worked out for the both of you. WTG on getting your resume online and curbing your snacking.

Kris ~ WTG on making it to 200lbs - awesome effort. Have a good week.

Rachel ~ Sorry the lb found you again. Weekends are so difficult - that's usually when we socialise and it's so hard to exercise the control required. A Monday weigh-in wouldn't work for me either. At least if you weigh-in later in the week it gives you a few days to make up for the weekend. Sorry work was so stressful, hope you manage to get that nap in so you can make Latin Aerobics. Enjoy!!

Off to have a shower, tidy up and get some work done. Brad's quite happy amusing himself.

Kris – Congratulations on getting off that plateau. You will be in a new century very soon!

Rachel – sorry about the pound. Weekends can be tough. I find it easier to manage weighing in on Saturday. Even though I can use a bunch of points on the weekend, I find it easier to stay OP during the week, so even if I have only a few points to work with, I can usually do OK. Sorry about work being so stressful. Enjoy Latin aerobics!

Tanya – Sorry about the pound but you have a good attitude (and I know the feeling when you have a gain and feel as if you’ve gotten off lightly!) Enjoy your walk/jog. How is Brad feeling? I hope he is feeling better.

Yuck! That’s all I can say about last night. I came home, did a yoga workout and had a good dinner. Then Tony and I had a tiff, and what did I proceed to do? You got it, I snacked. Did it make me feel better? No. I just got ticked off at myself. Well, I counted the points and took the hit. I still have enough Weekly Points to get through and have earned a lot of APs that I haven’t eaten so hopefully I can pull the week out. Sigh. It’s so funny how we still manage to behave in ways that don’t help our success even while we know we are doing them! I’m not sure what my schedule will be when I get home as far as exercising. Tony was talking about going to a seminar/business thing in the evening which would mean we eat early (not much time for exercise before dinner). I’ll have to see what’s what when I leave work. If we eat early, maybe I can do some kind of workout a few hours after dinner – that would be a good incentive NOT to snack!

Have a great one!

Good Morning from sunny beautiful British Columbia!

Judy - bummer re the tiff induced snacking...that's a hard behaviour to unlearn. It's a good thing you've been earning exercise points! How is your hip after doing your step workout?

Tanya - you have a good attitude about your gain...unfortunately this losing thing has lots of blips along the way, it's never smooth sailing all the time. We have some alpacas living a couple of miles away - they're sweet and sooo cute.

Rachel - sorry about the gain. I've recently changed my weigh in day to Monday in hopes of staying more in control on the weekend - I'll have to see how it goes. I need to be mindful seven days a week make it work for me.

Kris - congratulations on breaking your plateau - won't it be exciting to see 199 on the scale?!

I'm feeling pretty good since recommitting to following the program as it was designed, instead of deluding myself that I was being point-friendly on the "Karen Version" of WW. Today is my 45th birthday - we're going exploring today; checking out local surroundings that we haven't yet been to, and then we're going out for dinner AND dessert. Hmmm...tiramisu, or creme brulee? Aren't flex points great?!

Have a great day, everyone!

Karen

Default Sorry

Sorry my friends! It has been a while since I posted almost a couple of weeks. I just got back from my vacation and a course I gained. This morning I am 184.2 so obviously a gain of 3.2lbs from the last two mondays ago. Hopefully I will be done this Monday and I will get back on track. I don't know if I will meet my easter challenge. Most likely I won't. I ate whatever and as much as I wanted on my vacation. Now I am stuck with strep throat. Good Luck ladies!

Happy Birthday, Karen!!

Hope you have an awesome day. Enjoy your dinner and dessert!! LOL about your "Karen Version" of WW.

Judy ~ Sorry to hear about your tiff-induced snacking. Isn't it frustrating? Still it's good you still have weekly points up your sleeves so the damage can't have been too bad. Hope you manage to get a workout in.

Jenny ~ Sorry to hear about the gain but I'm sure the vacation was worth. You'll be back down in no time.

I'm hoping to get some exercise in later. The weather was rather grotty this morning but hopefully it'll clear in time for me to get a walk in before I pick the boys up from school. I managed to stay OP yesterday which I'm happy about. I'm going to have to work hard this week in order to earn a bit of leeway for Easter. We're going away for the weekend with friends so it'll be really hard avoiding all the temptations. I love Easter Eggs!!

Have a great day all.

Karen – sorry I wasn’t here to convey my birthday wishes to you on that special day but I hope it was a fabulous one! LOL on the “Karen Version” of WW – I wonder if that’s anything like the “Judy Version” of WW I fooled around with for too long ;-) and stopped this year although sometimes I can slip into that mindset). I know you’ll find what I have – that when you do the “Real Version”, it works. It sounds like you had great plans for your birthday. I think I would have chosen the crème brulee. Yup, flex points rock! My hip is a touch ouchy after the step but I’ve found that if I follow it with some stretching and do yoga the next day, it’s fine.

Jenny – Sorry about the strep- I hope you feel better soon. I’m sure that vacation gain will be gone soon.

Tanya – I hope the weather cleared enough for you to get your workout in and that you have a great time this weekend. I know what you mean about earning some leeway. For me, it’s for Passover and luckily, I have next Thursday off – the day we’re going to my Mom’s for the Passover seder. That means I can do a killer workout in the morning and go armed with some activity points.

I had an OK day yesterday. I went to the retina specialist for my follow-up visit and everything is fine. Turns out, what they didn’t tell me was that a month ago, the doctor saw a tiny tear that had healed itself – that’s why they told me not to do strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, etc. for the past month. Because of that, I will have to see him every six months but I’m fine with that. Given that he dilated my eyes quite strongly, when I got home I did not workout (and didn’t plan to). My Tai Chi class doesn’t start up again on Fri nights until the end of the month so my plans are to get on the treadmill or do some other kind of cardio after work. Hopefully, I’ll be able to eke out some kind of loss this week, or at least, not gain.

Have a great one!

Hi Ladies, and happy Friday!
I was up all night with a sick child--- continuous vomiting and diarreah since 2 am, no fun!! Things are slowing down this afternoon and I think the nausea is finally going away. She is holding down some Gatorade. Still has the diarreah though but I think the worst is over. I am on coffe #2 to try to make it through the day...........
I signed up for a 5K on April 20th, it's an annual event and my hospital is involved, so my hubby and I are going to do it together. I know I won't be able to run the whole thing, in fact I hate running, but hopefully I will be able to finish and not be last!!! There's not much time to train unfortunately, but I figure this is a good starting point and it's very motivating. My plan for today was to go get some new sneakers (mine are in horrible shape) and go to the gym to see how it felt to go 5K on the treadmill (I'm usually an elliptical girl). But of course I can't since I'm home with my daughter and haven't slept, so that's not going to happen today. Maybe hubby can mind the girls for a while tomorrow so I can go to the gym.

Hi all,

Karen - First of all, a belated Happy Birthday! I'm sorry I wasn't here on the day itself. I hope you had a splendid day. What did you choose, creme brulee or tiramisu? Congrats on the fabulous loss! As for the Karen way of doing WW, yeah, the Carla way hasn't really worked out either.

Tanya - I hope you're spirits have lifted and that your kids are all well. Don't fret about the pound. You'll get it right back off, especially since you're back to getting in your exercise and have gotten out of your slump.

Judy - I'm so glad that everything is fine with your retina. I chuckled at your "no way" day. I hope this weekend cooperates with you weather-wise so you can do more gardening. It's cold and rainy here. I really wish we could string together a few days of sunshine. Good for you for managing your snacking with Tony out of town. And yay that you were able to get a step workout in. So you don't see a lot of Alpacas in your parts, eh? They're quite the thing here and we have an alpaca farm near us. But we don't see them roaming around, or anything. Sorry to hear about the tiff snacking. It's like an out-of-body experience, isn't it. We know we're doing it, we know we shouldn't be doing it, and yet we do it. But with your weekly and activity points in place, you're in good shape.

Kris - Congrats on breaking your plateau. Here's to jumping into the 100s!

Rachel - Don't ever feel bad for taking care of yourself. If you needed a nap, you needed a nap. I hope work becomes less stressful, though I suppose with nursing stress is pretty much a constant. Take care of yourself and that pound will come right back off. I used to weigh in on Mondays and they didn't work for me either. Wednesday is much better for me; it's easier to hold on to my flex points until the weekend. I hope your daughter is feeling better and that your other daughter doesn't get sick. That crud is really making the rounds around here.

Jenny - Sorry about the gain and about the strep throat. I hope you feel better soon.

It's been a busy week. I've been trying to get used to working the equivalent of a full-time job again. I'm stressing mightly over the shape the house is in, especially since Ana makes her First Communion the end of the month and that means having the family over. I think I'll dedicate some quality time this weekend to cleaning. The crud that's been going around invaded our house this week - first John, then me. Luckily mine's just a head cold, so I can deal with it. The good news is that I haven't had much of a chance to go shopping on my own, so there is no Easter candy in the house yet. Less temptation for me, that's for sure. No making my way through two bags of Robin's eggs before they get in Ana's basket. I had a .04 loss this week. I'm still hanging onto water because I'm not drinking enough, I think. So I need to rectify that. And now off to the store. Why is it that no one can let me know when the last roll of toilet paper leaves the cabinet?

Have a great weekend!

Carla
