Michele - Its great that you are finally seeing yourself as you are now. Sorry to hear about Bobby's dog bite. Hope everything is okay. You look great in the dress. I want get down enough to feel comfortable in sleeveless clothes this summer.
Karen B - That breakfast smoothie sounds good. I've been looking for things to take to work to eat. Eating breakfast a little later keeps me from snacking before lunch.
Carla - Glad to hear you are feeling in control again. Probably is a good idea to let a pediatric specialist handle the crown work. My niece started going to one when she was little. She got scared when their family dentist went to do a filling and he recommended a pediatric specialist. She did great with him. They just know how to work with kids.
Judy - Hope you were able to control the PMS munchies again. You are so right about coming here making us aware of what we are doing. I do so much better on weeks when I am able to get here daily.
I got in another weight workout this morning. I don't do a lot, but it is getting me back in the right frame of mind. I didn't let the boredom and aggravation get to me today. Would you believe my boss didn't bother coming into the office until almost 3:30 and then wanted to get a bunch of work done! I had been sitting there since 9:00 with nothing to do but answer the phones.
Pat-Good for you on the work out! I know how you felt yest. at work. My boss is famous for not showing up until afternoon with something that has to be done before I leave and I sat around all morning surfing the net.
Judy-Not eating a chocolate covered Milano is a feat in itself! I hope things slow down a bit for you at work so you can catch your breath. I know coming here helps me a lot too, telling someone makes you feel more accountable and in control.
Carla-I am so glad that Anna's dental problems wont effect her permanent teeth. I have been avoiding the scale too, afraid to see in big #'s the cruise damage, but I will be on Monday as usual no matter what, I lost if before and I will lose it again. PMS can really screw things up though, I am due next week so i might chicken out.
Bobby is ok, thank you all for your concern. I think the owner of the puppy is worse off than he is. She feels so bad, I have told her over and over not to worry, but I know I would be if it were me.
I have decided to set a springtime goal for myself. There are no parties, holidays etc. in the near future so I have decided to go for goal by 4-1-02. I have set my goal at 152 and would like to make goal by then. Being under goal would just be icing on the cake Anyone care to join me on a April 1st challenge??
Have a great day. Oh, I posted some pics of trip if you want to check out.
Judy - You had great control over your snacking last night. I forgot how much I used to like having Rye Crisps with ff cream cheese and salsa. I have to go back to my journals from when I first started and look for the snacks, etc. that used to help me get through.
Pat - It would absolutely drive me crazy to sit around all day with nothing to do and then have to rush to get something out in the last couple of hours. Good for you for not letting this drive you to food. And a pat on the back for getting in that weight work!
Michele - I'm glad to her Bobby is doing ok. If I were the owner of the puppy, I'd feel badly too. As far as a springtime goal, intead of a specific number, I think that on April 3rd, (my weigh-in closest to 4/1, I'd like to be in the low 250s.
Had a pretty good day yesterday. Salty cravings got the better of me last night, but not too badly. I'll drink lots of water and eat at the low end of points today to make up for it. I don't have any particular challenges for the weekend. Saturday I'm having lunch with a friend, but the restaurant is on Dottie's list, so I can easily figure out points.
Only have a minute, will come back later this afternoon
Pat, I always always always eat breakfast first thing, otherwise it blows my day. I've been planning snacks which really helps the midmorning munchies, usually an apple and a 1 point yogurt or something similar.
Michele, you looked fabulous in that dress!!! I see you know how to ride too! Sorry looking horse, though! The falls looked great.
Pat - No minimizing your achievement ("I don't do a lot") - way to go on getting another weight workout in! Sorry to hear that your boss "put the crunch on". Is this the boss who is ill?
Michele - I'm glad to hear that Bobby is OK. Way to go on setting that goal. I think I'll pass - longer term goals haven't worked well for me in the past. I'm just going to try to make this week's weigh-in the third loss in a row (even if the 2 so far were teeny).
Carla - Yup- I thought of you when I saw the Wasa bread - I think I'll have some with ff cream cheese and salsa after my 4:30 (dial-in) meeting. It's been a stressful day and I crunchy snack is a good way to head off a binge. Glad to hear that the PMS monster didn't get you too badly. I'm with you on guzzling water - I was snackin' salty last night too.
Hey, Karen B!
It's been a good day workout and foodwise. I got up a little earlier to do 30 minutes on the treadmill and I came back from PT a little while ago. I stayed within points and even banked one. I'm drinking as much water as I can and am going to be careful not to snack too much tonight in response to a pretty stressful day at work.
Michele - Glad to hear Bobby is okay. I'm going to concentrate on getting back OP a day at a time right now. My M/W/F boss never comes into the office in the morning anymore unless he has to be in court or has an appointment that we couldn't schedule for the afternoon. I wish I could surf the net, but it shares the same phone line as the fax and the guy we share the office with wouldn't like it if I tied up the line. Instead I've been playing a couple of games he put on the computer. I've been playing them so much lately that I even double-clicked the hold button on the phone this week!
Carla - Sorry the salty cravings got to you, but the water should take care of the damage. My boss has never been a morning person, but has gotten really bad in the last few months. What really aggravates me is that his wife "works" on Tue/Thurs and doesn't come in until he does at 2:00-3:00 but still gets paid for working the whole day!
Karen B - I've been taking my breakfast with me lately. I take Laura and a couple of the neighborhood kids to school and don't have time before we leave. I take my water in the car with me and then come back to the house and get food for breakfast and an afternoon snack. I don't really get hungry until after I'm at work.
Judy - Way to go on getting in your workout and banking a point. Hope you were able to control the snacking tonight. This isn't the boss with cancer, its the one who can't decide if he wants to retire or not. He still talks about retiring, but hasn't committed to it yet. By the way, the boss with cancer finished his last radiation treatment today. He did really well, although he had a bout with pneumonia last week.
I had a good day today. Did another short workout this morning. Darrell even cooked again tonight! Forgot to report yesterday that I had a maintain this week.
Judy-Good luck at weigh in on Sat, I will have my fingers crossed for you. A teeny loss is still a loss and you are doing great. Congrats on getting those workouts in and staying OP, it will pay off for you.
Pat-I am glad you boss seems to be doing well. I used to have a boss that wife never came into the office and still brought home over $40,000 year. Must be nice. You concentrate on one day at a time and we will all be here for you. My husband hardly ever cooks, and what a mess when he does, you are very lucky!
Carla-Thanks about the dress, I felt pretty good in it. I posted a couple of other pics yest. afternoon. Cream cheese and salsa sounds yummy, I have a jalapeno jelly that is great with cc and crackers, does not have a label though So I don't use too much or often. Have a great lunch Saturday, Dotti's sight is wonderful!
No big plans for the weekend, just taking Bobby from Soccer to Basketball back to soccer again. Gotta love it!
Pat - Congratulations on the maintain and good for you for getting in another workout. You are on a roll! I'm glad to hear that the boss with cancer finished his last treatment. The situation with the boss' wife would aggravate me.
Michele - I hope I can get over to your site today. Yes, Carla's combo of ff cream cheese & salsa is wonderful. I enjoyed some last night. Have a great weekend (sounds like a lot of driving around!)
I had an OK night last night - I didn't go over but Tony and I had a little tiff and I definitely snacked a bit too much (and I know it was emotional eating). I walked from the station to the office this morning so I got my 25 minute walk in. I hope to do either some abs or yoga when I get home tonight - I can use both! This weekend will be a little challenging. We are going out for Chinese food with my parents on Saturday (after weigh in of course!) and we may be going out with Tony's dad on Sunday. I have 7 points in the bank so far (food & activity combined) so I think I should be able to manage.
If I don't get back on, have a great weekend everyone!
Judy
Pat - LOL at double clicking the hold button on the phone. I'm glad to hear your Tues/Thurs boss made it through his treatments ok. As for the Mon/Wed/Fri boss, that man just needs to retire. Clearly his heart isn't in it anymore. As for his wife, I suppose the money would go to her anyhow one way or another, but it isn't fair. Bummer that you can't surf the net. Time to stock up on some good books! And before I forget - congrats on the maintain.
Michele - MMMM - jalapeno jelly. That would be great on cream cheese. I'll have to take a look at the pitures you posted.
Judy - I was with you on the snacking last night. I'm sending you postive vibes for your weekend eating challenges. I'm sure you'll do fine.
I wish this PMS monster would go away. I definitely had the salty/sweet thing going on last night, so needless to say I didn't eat at my minimum. In fact I went over by a few points with some pretzels. On the positive side: I worked late last night and did not indulge in woe is me eating (as in scarfing down everything I could get my hands on at the train station and then repeating the process at home). Also, John brought home pistachios yesterday, which I absolutely love. I counted out my 40 nuts for 4 points and then stopped. So at least when I snacked last night, I stuck to the pretzels and didn't finish up the pistachios. Small victories, to be sure, but every little bit helps. On another note, if you haven't read Suzanne's latest journal entry, she's having a rough time right now and is leaving the site. Let's all send her good thoughts.
Carla - who is that cute little kitten? Sorry to hear about the PMS monster but I think you did great last night. No, you didn't want to go "over " by a few points, but I know that after working late, I'm ready to eat my desk, the seat cushions on the train - you name it - and you didn't do that so YAY CARLA! Also, I am VERY impressed with your counting out those pistachios!
Thanks for the heads up - I'm sending Suzanne my good thoughts!
Judy - Why thank you! I must say, I surprised myself with the pistachios. Just have to remember to save some points for them tonight! That cute little kitten is no one in particular - I just picked an avatar from the 3FC database.
By the way, Suzanne posted another journal entry. She's just going to take a break. The forum will continue, she's just not updating the recipes, food reviews, newsletters for awhile. They did have to shut down the chat room though as their subscription was up and they can't afford to continue it. Which reminds me - i haven't donated in awhile. Off to do that.
