Am I reading my book correctly? Is a Wendy's taco salad 8 points and if you add the chips then it's 4 more points? Does the taco salad have lettuce and chili only?
I rarely eat fast food, but this sounds like it might be doable. Does anyone know how many points you would save without the cheese? Also, is it big enough to satisfy for lunch without eating anything else?
I order the side salad (1 point) and small chili (4 points) and pour the chili over the salad and make my own taco salad. If I also eat the 4 crackers that come with the chili, I could the meal as 6 points.
Wendy's taco salad is one of my fast food favorites. It's huge, so it's very filling. If I have it for lunch, I usually will skip the chips. If I'm having it for dinner, sometimes I'll crumble the chips on top. I think it's a great points value compared to most things at fast food restaurants.
I agree, Rupertsmom. I had it for the first time the other night and I was stuffed! I really liked it. If I have it for supper again I will do the chips too I think. Thats not bad for a meal. Very Filling!......Sis
I have this alot and really think it's worth the points.
Another thought, if Baked Tostitos are available in your area, you can use 1 oz. of those for 2 points instead of theirs and have a 10 point meal to save a few points.
I just had this the other day - Here's what I did -
I ordered the Taco Salad with the chili on the side - which is the same as the small = 4pts.
I removed all the cheese, and basically all I was left with was lettuce and tomato = 0 pts. Didn't have any of the chips.
I mixed in half the chili with the salad and had a great 2pt meal. Ofcourse you could use all the chili, and it would still be only 4pts! Or bring your own tortilla chips - I like WOW's and it would still be a huge low-point meal!
